 Rosa'a previous family moved into a smaller place and decided to find new homes for their parrots. We were looking for a friend for Charlie. We found her though craigslist. She was cheap so we went to check her out. She bit the #@%$ out of my finger and wasn't very friendly although she did let my husband give her a little skritches before she bit him too. We took her in fear of what might happen to her if she found the wrong people.. |

 I love my owners for bringing me home to meet Charlie. He is my best bud. Now instead of being locked up all day. I get to come out of my cage and hang out with my new friends. Mom even gives me private love sessions while I'm in my cage, even though I tried to remove her finger! I comin' around though.

I have a sign on my cage that reads 'attack parrot', and a blackboard in the cage where I chalk up my tallies of bloody bites...lol.. It sounds like you got a great new family...they accepted you int0 their home in spite of your personality conflicts and "bites". I hope that you will give them a chance and learn to accept and trust them. Susan is a bird that we adopted off of Craig's list, too. Susan has been with us for 2 months now. She is a real sweetheart and is adjusting nicely. It feels like she has been with us forever already, and she loves everyone. She does occasionally say the names of her old flock mates, but hopefully she will learn to love and accept her new flock mates, who already adore her. Fly on in for a visit any time. You're a beautiful amazon! Pedro (our yellow nape) thinks that you are pretty, too!

hope you are patient with your finger chopper. it's hard for her to be friendly specially cause is not a young parrot and is used to her other family, but be patient and show her that you love her.
