Hi Hedwig
Here's a vote to you our friend.So how is the seperate room from Luna working out? Mom did let us visit with Kiwi and Mango the lovebirds one day.They were more excited to see us then we were of them.Actually we pretty much ignored them.I think this Monday she is going to put us in to the same room for awhile.Has your mom been looking into black masked lovies?Our mom went into a pet store today and there was a quaker and a sengal.The Sengal was a real sweetie.She held it and scratched its head and neck.One of the store employees had it out of the cage for some reason but then decided he didn't want to carry it back to the cage because the bird bit him.The other employee was busy so he didn't want it on his shoulder so mom told them she would hold it and take it back to it's cage.When mom asked questions about the bird no one could give her an answer.She didn't think that was very good.She has read up on them a bit but now she is going to look for a book specifically on Sengals.She also like Quakers.We think she will one day have a library of books on all the parrots.She has a pretty good collection so far.We hope one day you will like to be in the company of the rest of the flock Hedwig.We hope you and the rest of your family are having a great summer.Will do a fly by again. Hi Hedwig
How is it going? So your mom gave you and Luna your own room.Do you get to help doing the crafts? That could be alot of fun.So sounds like you and Luna do alot of chatting.We do too and sometimes we squabble.Mom and dad tell us to be nice.Still haven't found blues but mom is keeping her eyes open.We do have a couple of lovebirds that joined the flock.They are Mango and Kiwi.Seiji and I haven't seen them yet but we do hear them.They belonged to an aunt (she had them since they were babies - they are 4 years old now) and her boyfriend never really liked them because he said they were too loud.Well surprise, he is hard of hearing so he's loud,T.V is loud so naturally the birds had to be loud.Anyhow they were going to let them go so mom brought them here.They have been here just over three weeks but mom has them quarantined.She's trying to get them to eat something other then seed.They are getting curious and check out the different veggies and fruit.She hasn't seen them eating any yet.They have a big cage with lots of toys just like us.Mom can't believe how much we eat compared to those two.We love all foods.Do you and Luna like all different foods too? Everyday we pick through our salads looking for figs.We eat those first.Figs and strawberries are our favorite fruits so far.What are yours? Mom says we have to go and vote for Luna now. I was being an attack bird today, so I had a time out. Do you think that is fair? I was in time out before Summer this time. Her time came a little later, when she tried to attack Xerxes, though. I yelled and squawked, and mom told me I couldn't come back out til I stopped. I am trying to behave now. Hedwig is the perfect name!
I don't know if you have ever seen "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (I watched it with my mom) but "angry inch" is just such a perfect way to describe us parrotlets. Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams.
