Gil was found as a weaning baby on the grounds of my old school after a major storm ripped through the area, his parents and nest were nowhere to be seen and his right wing was damaged. A long story short, he soon arrived at my house a snappy wild bird, but after spending a couple of quiet hours with him and a visit to the avian vet, he became the tamest little angel I've ever known!.   A Joy Ride!
Your day sounds like it's been FUNtastic! I've never been for a car ride other than the one that brought me home. That's was a good one though. The changes in your cage sound intriguing. Rearrangements make for whole new experiences. I always like it when a new branch of leaves is brought into the bird barn. I set to work nibbling off the leaves right away. When I live indoors during the winter I like to nibble on wicker and grass toys. Mom doesn't hang any of those for me this time of year, instead saving them for the long cold months. Is it not your colder seasons now? Ours is moving in and rather early this year. Normally it's still quite hot and humid right now but tonight I'm actually wishing the back window had been closed. It's chilly in here! Sleep well when it's your time to sleep and thank you so much for your visits. T '>

  Hi Gil!
We would love to tell you how to watch the videos! There are a lot of cute ones to enjoy here on BC! Who knows, maybe someday your mom will post one of you! We'd love to see that! Go to the top of your profile and look to the left. Underneath 'Your Account' and 'Logout' you will see a list of things starting with Bird Products. Bird Videos is second from the bottom! Click onto that and it will ask if you want to upload a video or browse. Click Browse. You can watch any of the videos that have been posted. At the bottom of the videos listed, there are page numbers and you can click onto any page from there. If you want a specific video, type in the name of the video or birds name such as Chicklet and it will list all the ones posted. You can also Click onto the persons name highlighted in red to see a listing of all the videos that they have posted! Enjoy! We know how you feel. When we first came on to BC, we were not sure how to do some of the things such as upload extra pictures so we just asked one of our BC friends and they told us how to do it! Have a great day! Squawk with you again!

Hugs and Snugs,

Chicklet and co.

  Hello again, Gil!
I can bet that you are a loveable clown! You look very sweet! Chewing on forbidden things is the best part of being a cockatoo! Mom had a wicker laundry basket that I took over. First, I chewed off the handles so she had to give it to me and then I proceeded to chomp about 4 inches off all the way around the top! She uses it for my toy basket now! I also love to do the can opener thing with her tupperware lids! She can't figure out why I only like the expensive plastic! I also love to exercise my pet human by throwing my toys on the floor so she has to pick them up for me! Have you seen my videos yet? In one I steal an almond from my parrot cookie jar, in another I am playing in the water with my plastic fish and the last one I am doing a variety of things including tossing the water glass around! They are cute! She also has one of the 'tiels chowing down for camp birdie! Fly by again for a squawk anytime as we love the company! C'ya later!

Hugs and Snugs,

Chicklet and co.

  Good Evening, Gil
(Actually I'm not sure exactly what time it is at your place. I believe you're some 14 hours ahead of me here in the States... that would put you into tomorrow, a timeframe I have yet to enter. Don't fret about missing out on the millet. There was some left over and I'll be sure to leave you some. The 'tiels can't be the only ones enjoying the delectable treat.

The wild birdies that your mom feeds and you chat with all sound so very exotic to me. I look at your picture and find myself in awe of the idea of a pink and grey bird soaring through the sky... I'd likely fall off my perch just staring as your pastel beauty crossed the Heavens. Wow is still all I can think to say.

Pleased you made it by for the Cheese Crisps. Just about anything tastes pretty darn good with cheese on it, does it not? Can't say I've had cheese-covered millet tho but maybe it's an idea worth trying. A little grated parmesan... a cluster of millet that's been spritzed with olive oil then rolled in the fine cheese.... Mmm, I may be onto something here!

Thanks for your visit. T '>

  Hello again!
Yup. I chose my pet human because I knew she would be easy to tame! All it took was one look and that was that! It must be nice seeing the flocks of wild has a video of the white cockatoo's from Australia and she wanted to watch it with me so I could see the "relies" but I thought it was too scary to watch so I hid behind her head and cautiously peeked out at the movie every now and then. In that one picture of me I am not on a swing, but the top of a rope ladder that mom made for me! I have a swing that I love too. Come again anytime for a visit as we love the company. What sort of mischief do you love to get into? C'ya later!

Hugs and Snugs,

Chicklet and co.
PS. I have a couple of videos of me posted so check 'em out when you get a chance!

Hi there Gil! Tilly here. You're very handsome. My mom once fell in love with a rose-breasted cockatoo named Lillian in the pet store, but at that time she didn't have enough money or time to spend with a new bird. At least she went to a good home...and I'm happy for you because it sounds like you're very lucky to have ended up in a great home too! I'ma fly up and nip at that votey button thing for you. Hope to see you around!

  Good Day, Gil!
I see you've added another picture and was that avatar there yesterday? I don't recall seeing it or I would've commented on what a great replica of you it is.

You asked if I chat with the any wild flocks here. As I live in a sea of corn and soybean fields (you can see green waving for miles around from my place- I live out in the country) there are really few wild birds to gab with. The common little brown sparrows are frequent company and the occasional flock of cowbirds (which no birdie likes 'cause they're loud, rude, and messy) but other than that, me and my flock are about it. Because of our remote location and limited places to fly off to, the zebra finches here are allowed outdoor access all summer. They come and go out of our BirdBarn at liberty, often perching on the outside of my aviary and bragging about the view without a wire interruption. Because they depend on the food mom puts out for them they don't go far from home. The four neighbors this little cluster of homes has also feed the finches their preferred mix so they're rather spoiled, if you ask me. Come fall, the seed is only served inside the barn and the wire opening is reclosed for the winter. I try and convince mom that we 'keets would stay home like the finches do but she's not willing to let us roam that freely. Drats. Oh well, don't have to worry about stray cats in here.
With it being Monday, there are new menu items. I invite you to come by for a peek, see if there's anything you might like. Here, a sample to whet your appetite... {l} (a pecan) & (( (a cashew). T '>

Gil~ So Glad You Came By!
Way to just jump right in, make yourself at home, help yourself to the treats. Pleased you liked them so much. Come tomorrow there'll be something new on the menu. (a new picture...)
I take it you share your home with cockatiels or are we talking an open window where you can hear flocks of them outside discussing life, love and liberty? That you were looking forward to some free flight time before your mom started her work tells me that injured right wing has healed properly enough to allow flight? Excellent. I'm a full-time flyer myself, having the advantage of residing in an outdoor aviary. When it came time to take the photos for this week's special activity I was brought into the house after dark (that's when I'll willingly step up on mom's finger) and put in a cage until morning and time for the photo session. Mom's always touched that I'll so wiling work with her and these crazy snap-happy moments of hers even though I don't spend a lot of time being handled normally. I told her, No problem, as long as I get to eat the props afterwards. Interestingly enough, SHE ate the sweetroll from today's picture and I didn't get a crumb. Didn't want one to be honest. But I did like the juice. Thanks for flying by. Maybe you'll come back by tomorrow to see what's cookin'? T '>

  What a Story, Gil!
To think that there are gorgeous pink birds fluttering about the trees, fancy free, in your country is just amazing. There are no such birds in mine. Brown is a popular color in the wild around here! I got loose once in my yard; my blue was the flashiest thing the neighborhood had seen in a while. Okay, the yellow goldfinches are pretty bright, I'll give them that.
Your story has a happy ending; you were rescued and loved and now you're returning the favor. So glad you've joined us here on the BC.
I'd like to invite you to come by my page today for Pastries and Fresh-Squeezed Orange Juice (see picture). As the character who's "served" food and beverages at various BC Parties, I thought I'd make this a special week of treats on my page.
Tapping your vote button on my way out as a way of saying 'Good to have you here with us.' T '>
