 I was brought to my first home out of two for my owner's birthday. Little did I know who she was.
I was smothered in love, petted until I couldn't stand it and even allowed her to put me on her finger.
That all changed after two or so years of moving to mt new home. This was when the EVIL Coco (even though my owner plays with her *shudder*) struck. I was climbing up a perch when i was attacked by the lovebird who had come out of her cage when my owner had left to get water for the bowls.
I was crippled for life after the vet's wouldn't take me in because (quote) "We have no avian vet. We cannot look at this bird because we are not specialists."
My owner was furious. She and her mother tried to save my legs from getting infected by applying some sort of liquid with a paintbrush but I lost one of them anyway. Now, here I am, on my comfy little rug with mirrors and a bottomless cage. It's not all THAT bad but I'd do anything to sit with my adopted brother Parsly again. Or fly for that matter as my delicate balance that allowed me to fly was disrupted and also disallowed me to fly higher than a few inches or on a planned course.
But then again, I'd have never gotten so many head rubs.. |

Punkin here. Oh so sorry to hear of the attack! Kiwi is the only one to bother us. Sly, the grey, is such a wonderful big bird. I can snuggle with him and the budgies can too. I have a wing that has been broken and healed wrong. Mom adopted me that way and loves me a lot. Even if I don't like to be held. She makes sure I'm not picked on and gives us mealworms (we finches like them) And making sure the bigger birds don't hurt us. I know what you mean about not being able to do what you want to do. At Maki: You guessed right. It is a name from the cartoon. I watched it when I was little and Cfirek (misspelled name of Cwirek, or so my mom says) seemed the obvious name for a loud little bird. :)Come visit me, Tweeter (Cfirek), Parsly & Coco.
