Where is my clutchmate?
I have not seen my clutchmate in days? Where is she? We had a total of 6 eggs together. Bet mom wishes she had let one of them hatch now.

Labor day
Days getting shorter. Mom closes the curtains sooner. She sure has been killing a lot of big bugs lately!
Lemonhead and I have had 3 eggs over the summer. Mom takes the eggs away.

Under the weather
Mom noticed my feathers were all fluffed up and I was sleeping a lot. She put covers over my corner of the cage and hung millet by me. I'm glad she can see when I dont feel good.

Mom laughs at me!
I jump up and down on Lemonhead's back after I do my courtship dance. I fall off all the time and Mom laughs at me! She said "I am so glad you have not figured out romance ! sick day
Human said my feathers were fluffed out and that I looked like I wasn't feeling well. I had no energy. I just wanted to perch on her warm shoulder. She took me away from the other birdies and put me in a warm room in my cage. She turned out the light but I cheeped to let her know I did not want to stay in the dark. She gave me millet and told me good birdie when I ate.
I am feeling better now. Human checks on me a lot.Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

Lemonhead
Dovey, me and lemonhead were hanging around on top of the flight cage. Human was talking to us very nicely. I ambled over to nibble on her hair and Lemonhead clamped his beak on one of my feathers and pulled until I said "ow!" and moved away from human.
Maybe Lemonhead has not figured out that he can not mate with human. LH could mate with me---the birdie certainly lets me offer feedings!Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

sulking Lemonhead
Lemonhead was sulking most of the day today. Human came out of her coop for just a few minutes a couple of times today. At least we can hear her voice better today.
Still hanging out with Martian. Human will not let me stay overnight with Martian. Why? I even fly out of her hand when she was taking me to my home with LH. I flew a wide circle of the room and returned to Martian. No dice. Can't stay with the fluffy green birdy who likes to sit, have to be cooped up with LH and his head preening pleas. ("Oh, preen my head, puhleeze? I love it! It feels so good! Yes, please preen the back of my neck")Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

Shut out :(
After dark, human closed the door to Martian's (and Dovey's) cage. I cried with disappointment. I was not ready to stop playing with them! Human was engrossed in front of her light boxes.
She told me today that I am a little sound meter. When humans talk on tv it is ok. When humans shout and make loud noises I squawk. Human turns tv sound off (good). Human said something about " noise bothers you Nestle, it can't be good for my stress level".
We see a lot of tv. Young boys who are clutch mates wake up and hit each other (Malcolm in the middle is on a lot). So this morning, we woke up and began beak boxing. Human said "You birdies are too pretty to fight." It's what we do, "Lois".
Later, Lemonhead was hogging the bath. So, I stepped on his back to get him out of the way. First human said "Nestle don't hurt your brother" then she laughed. I think she said "I guess I need to get bath bowls for all the birdies".Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

Lemonhead
Human lavishes attention on LH. Still not enough for him. Human has tried to pay more atention to Dovey who really is a nice little guy. So, human was talking to Dovey, Lemonhead was inside our cage, Dovey on top of cage. Human said "I can tell what you are thinking, Lemonhead, don't do it. Move away from Dovey's toes." Human repeated "don't do it, don't do t". but he bit Dovey's toe anyway. Dovey cried out and scampered away. Dovey wants human companionship, LH too jealous.
Human may just have to take LH out of the room so she can bond with Dovey.Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

Millet
Human put two branches of millet in the budgies home. We devoured it, we consumed it, we fell upon it with glee, we had a feeding frenzy! Dam that was good, fresh millet!

Human is on twitter. She tweets! ha ha. Can you guess what she tweets about?
Martian is a beautiful bird. We sit together most of the day now. Some beak boxing, no bumps off perch, no hard pecks. Human said we have a romance? going.

Human is dense
Only Lemonhead makes headway with training human. I did not want to leave the playpen last night. Human carried me over to my home with Lemonhead. I climbed out and flew back to the budgies. Human picked me up again and took me back to Lemonhead. As soon as she closed the door, I pecked Lemonhead and knocked him off the perch. Human is too big to peck and knock down.

new toy?
Human has learned to lay carrots with their leafy feathers on top of the budgies' flight cage. We all like that. Toy + food = fun. We are all too busy to fight (Martian has had to go back in his cage cause he pecks at everyone).
Human moved something around in our cage and I found the swing again. It is a dam good toy! I like to sit on top and sleep there away from Lemonhead who always, always always wants me to preen his pointy little head. Why doesn't he train human to do it? She was rubbing his head in the sunlight until those feathers Martian pulled out (because Lemonhead had tried to run Fat Boy off from a toy) grew back. I bet she wouldn't mind scratching his head.
We are all getting prettier. Human says I am sky blue now, that Lemonhead is dawn sky blue and will have a yellow head, Dovey will have white head, and Fat Boy will have really yellow head.Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

fresh air
Human took me and Lemonhead in our cage outside to her hanging coop while she cleaned it and then sat and ate. She gave us carrots, praised us when we nibbled at them, then gave use millet because L "was more interested in playing with toys" than eating.
He is training human very well and we all benefit from his schemes.Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

quiet day
It is quieter when Lemonhead is away. He tries to pick fights with the budgies. They're BIG amd Martian is FAT. Lemonhead is learning a new trick and human is very pleased with him. He had a plastic ball in his beak and holds it long enough to shake it up and down until human comes over to him then he throws it on floor and she crawls on floor to get it!
Maybe he is a smart birdie. Human looks funny on her hands and knees.Come visit me, Dickon, Lemonhead RIP, Martian & Nestle.

New perch
Human put up new perch for us so we can sit next to her at night. Now we can watch her watch TV.
