He and his parronts put the team players in one hat and the playing positions in another and then he supervised them each drawing one from each hat. Here's how it turned out:

A blurry picture makes for a blurry baseball photo! Send your pics either to me or to Coach Jake and if you don't have either of our addys, just ask and I'll get that for ya. How's things at your house this week what with mom back to work now. Bet you're missin' her during the day after having her home for awhile now. I'm sure though you're happy t'see her happy t'be back in the workforce and bringin' home the dough, and the seeds and toys and treats and peace of mind. All those things are pretty nice.

Hey there Pretty Girl
What's new with you these days? How's the new year treatin' ya? Good I hope. I'm bummed there's not a Merry Christmas or a Happy New Year greeting here from me. I didn't do a very good job of getting around t'friends over the holidays with notes.
Don't know whether Ceasaur happened t'mention it but I'll be sailin' with his crew this year on the Pearl. You gonna be on board too? Boy do I hope so. It'd be awesome t'get t'see you everyday! Believe it or not, the good Captain's got me workin' as a helmsmate. I've been studyin' up on the use of the gyrocompass, rudder angles and how t'steer a steady course. Don't want the crew hurlin' their cookies just because I'm a wobbly helmsbird! I want Ceasaur and the crew t'be GLAD I signed on, not sorry.

Happy 1st Day of December Lovely Scarlet
Mom and I, we've just watched the Cookie Bandit video. That was a good one! I'm glad you told me who it was that flew in (Shadow) made the camera jiggle. I couldn't tell from just listening what happened when Ceasaur flew up to where Shadow was at. It didn't sound like Shadow flew away again, but I might not've been able to hear that from the flutter sounds that Ceasaur made. That Puffin sure is a sweetie to offer Mom a cookie. Don't know that I'd think to do that. Nope, I'm afraid I'd be there on the edge of the cookie can, packin' the goodies away. I couldn't believe that Puffin just kept tossin' the cookies around instead of EATING THEM! What's wrong with that bird???!!! Thanks for tellin' me about the video.
That was an ingenious thing your mom did to keep that blasted cat from bothering the birds at the feeder. Bet that was some work t'get that aquarium tipped up like that. I don't have much of a variety of wild birds here, mostly just Sparrows, Gold finches and the occasional cardinal. I can't see the feeder from my window, but I can when I'm sittin' in the kitchen.
You are most welcome for the Thanksgiving Day "card". Me and the flock really hoped you and yours and your mom had a very nice day, one that was cozy and comfortable and filled with happiness that comes from just bein' together. That's how my day was.

Good news you had about those rings keepin' Shadow from landin' on your cage. His toes will appreciate his making that smart decision. Our moms, they always end up feelin' like they failed us when something bad happens, but somethin' tells me your mom's careful watch over all of you has kept hundreds of things from happening in the past. You've got such a good mama. While I'm not territorial about my cage really, Reba (the GW) sure is. And I'm talkin' about her bein' protective of MY cage since it's where she hangs out all the time. Alfie the Zon can come over and sit inside or on the back section, but if he wanders around front to get a pellet out of my outside food dish, Reba will first give him the evil eye (which he ignores) and then jab that big white beak at him till he flies off. She's not managed to pinch anybirdie, but I wouldn't put it past her t'try. For the sake of safety, we could all be kept in our cages all the time but what fun would life be if we had t'do that, right? Freedom has its risks...
Apparently the chickens were not deterred by the loss of one of their flock; they were back in our yard yesterday, wanderin' around lookin' for bugs or whatever in the leaves. They know mom so well, she can walk right up to them and practically pick them up. We're hoping not to discover any sad situations this morning when the sun comes up.
I hope your day's a sunny one there in VA t'day.

Oh dear, Scarlet
I'm sorry about those tempting toes that were sticking down through the top of your cage. I completely understand. Wednesday when Jenny was here, I'd been tucked in my cage just until Uncle Chuck got all three birds in the room and things settled down. When Jen bailed out of her travel cage, she ended up on the floor near my cage, so of course started climbing up the sides right away. Wound up by all the excitement, I leaned out to check out her toes. Man, did mom yell at me! Yikes. Needless to say, I did NOT touch Jen's toes. I think mom would've BIT ME if I had! Like I said, I'm sorry you ended up feeling like a bad girl. I hope those metal hoops and the perch up there keep all tempting toes out of your reach from here on out. Mom's always making little adjustments like that around here too so accidents hopefully won't happen. It's a full time job supervising us parrots, isn't it.
You won't believe this but I have the almost exact chicken story to tell you! Yesterday the conures and 'tiels were screaming up a storm in their room, flappin' around so much, even dad asked mom if everything was okay in there. Mom said there must be something in the front yard that was scaring them, and she got up to look. There on the front porch was a big white chicken! She belongs to the neighbor guy and mom knows his chickens well; she's taken care of them on weekends ever since they were little chicks back in the spring. Mom went out to talk to Miss Chicken who had obviously jumped the fence in her yard and discovered that four others were meandering about in one of the landscaping mounds. Mom sort of escorted them back towards home and could see that someone was there; the garage doors were open. Sadly this morning we discovered one of them dead in our yard. One must've come back and camped out in the ornamental grass and then been found in the middle of the night by some marauding animal. There's a stray dog in the neighborhood today so we're wondering if he might be the culprit. Bummer end t'this story, huh. I like yours better.

Hey Pretty Girl!
Isn't it amazing how each of us parrots are so different in so many ways, and yet similar in others. There's somethin' sweet about you being your Mama's baby. It's easy t'see why that's true. Too bad your beak is so strong that your love-nips are actually painful to the one that you love. Sometimes I grab hold of mom's thumb or finger with the idea I'm going to "feed" her something and end up holding on too tight. I know I have to do that because I know she's going to try and get away, but I don't want her to leave before I give her my gift of love. It's sweet that you liked being touched all over. I allow pretty much anything to be done to me with the exception of my tail; it doesn't like being touched. Mom will playful pet it every now and then but I always look at her like, "Must you?" It sounds like just you and Greenie are the only ones that enjoy lots of contact. Thank goodness the other macaws will step up for your Mama when she asks. That makes it a lot easier to do things for them. It's a good thing Reba will step up and behave whenever she's asked to because she's terrified of the transport stick. Used to go into a panic just seeing it picked up. Mom could easily believe that she'd been hurt or beat by a stick in her first home but she met the people and they seemed so nice, so caring about Reba and her B&G brother. In the two years Reba's been here, she's managed to trust the stick enough to touch it with her beak without any fear. If I'm asked to step up on it though, Reba thinks something bad is going to happen to me and starts wailing and flapping her wings. It's sad to see her so concerned. Little by little though she's making progress and learning that nothing bad is going to happen because of that oak stick.
Boy, listen to me ramblin' on again. I get here and just can't stop talkin'! I loved hearing about your flock, Scarlet. You have such a beautiful family and a wonderful mom. I always smile when I think about all of you...

Good morning, Scarlet
Thought I'd stop by, say "HI", ask how your week's been. Have ya hung out on the couch with mom a bunch? I can picture you perched on the back of the couch, keepin' an eye on things from there. Maybe though, that's not where you sit. Maybe you're right on top of mom, snuggled in close! Reba, my GW flockmate, she loves t'sit on mom's lap and just sort of lay up again her. It's pretty cute. Me, I can't sit still like that. I get invited t'lounge on the couch too but I'm still for all of three seconds. I'd rather be trompin' up and down the cushions, pullin' at the throw that lays on the arm of the couch or the pillows in the corner. When mom gets tired of sayin' "No, RaneBeau, not that." I get trucked off to my room again. Such a bummer. Once in a great while I get t'roam around on the floor in the family room but there's just too many tempting things t'bother. The guys don't like it if I maul the ends of their shoelaces or rearrange all the shoes by the door. Hey, it's fun t'hear'm yell, 'Where's my other shoe?' He heee.

Scarlet! You're WEARING that Hat!
That's impressive! I don't think I'd allow somethin' like that t'sit on my head, at least not long enough for a picture to be taken. Back during our Western Days here on the BC when I was the sheriff, I allowed mom to put a vest on me. She cut it out of felt and stitched it up quick, cut a little slit for the badge to slide down in and then put the thing on me. First thing I did was pull that badge back off and send it sailin'! I hope there's at least a few more days for you outside. It appears the top of your aviary area is wire as well which would mean the sun could shine through and warm you up. The wood slates on the top of my parrot pen do a good job of providing shade in the hot part of the summer but come this time of year when the sun would feel really good on my back, it can't get through. Mom told dad she needed a retractable roof on the aviary.... he gave her the look that said, "Yeah, right." I think that means No Way. Oh well.
My latest profile picture (thanks for likin' it) was taken a bunch of years ago, just for the BC of course. I mean, who else but some crazy lady with a bird on the BC takes their bird to an old cemetery to take pictures! Let me tell ya, those grave stones were chilly to the feets! Brrr. Mom did a lot of snuggling of my toes between shots, which of course I didn't mind at all.

Hi again.
This is fun, gettin' to chat with you more often. You always were one of my favorite gals, Scarlet.
I figured Puffin had your mom pretty busy with her KB duties. That sure was a couple of fun weeks. Hope Puffin had a good time while she was there. I get the feeling that KB duty is a lot of work.
Are you still able t'go outside some these days or has it gotten just nippy enough to keep that from happening? I didn't make it out today. It wasn't quite cool but then not quite warm enough either and since mom had so much going on, we couldn't have stayed out long anyway. Tomorrow looks promising though. It's weird now to be in my backyard because all the fields around me have been harvested and I can see a long ways again. When the corn's standing it's like having a tall fence down the back side of the property. If it's corn that's planted across the street, it sometimes feels like I'm livin' in a ditch! Then there comes that day the farmers pick the fields and WA LA— you can see for miles again.
Well, enough about my yard. Here's hopin' all's well in yours.

Your newest profile picture is a really good one. It shows off how gorgeous your face is and how brilliantly colored your feathers are. I've said it before but I've got t'say it again: you are one beautiful macaw. And then there's you in your video with the balls!!! You really get into throwing those things around!! Don't you just love those whiffle ball thingies. They're great 'cause they're easy to get a hold of and they bounce just after you pitch them off the top of a cage. I had a good one until Reba got a hold of it and chewed a couple of sections out. Now it doesn't bounce too well at all, but on the plus side, I can get my beak in further which gives me a better hold.

Hey Scarlet
I thought since I was in the neighborhood - I'm headed over to Puffin's — I'd stop and say "HI" to you. What you been doin' this summer? Played outside some? or was it really, really hot a lot of the time like it's been here? Most of the days in June and July I didn't got outside till 5, sometimes 6, which is way later than usual. Even then, a huge sheet was hung up on the side of the aviary to block the sun from baking us parrots. Mom would spray that cloth as well as the ground inside, tryin' to cool things down a bit. Of course I got misted too, which felt really good.
Did you have a favorite toy you played with? I've had an old t-shirt I've played with in my favorite corner of the bird room. I love to toss it around, hide under it, talk to myself while under it, grind my beak on it ... I'm a goofy guy, I know. That shirt finally got thrown out, which made me a little sad. I've got a new one and I've been playing with it, but honestly, I miss the white shirt. I had it beat up just the way I wanted it to be!

My name is Scarlett also. But I use 2 Ts at the end. And you are much biger than me. I have a flock sister that is a Macaw named Big Baby(BB for short). She dont bother me at all cause we are in seperate rooms.
