My name is Toby-Tiels Rule I am a Normal grey Cockatiel from stickney, IL. t, tobias (when bad) (Country Singer) Toby Tiel 8 years old M Normal grey Cockatiel sunflower seeds, honey treat bars at the bottom of my cage chewing holes in the gravel paper does not like to take baths, getting his tail, toes touched no matter how many times I try and bite her or make a mess, she still brings me stuff hisses if someone disturbs him, chewing holes in his gravel paper, biting fingers if he does not want to be bothered. tiels rule.

Hooray for the 'TIEL TERRORS!!
Can you believe it, Toby — WE WON!! Is it hard to celebrate there since Snowy's probably a little down about losing? That happens here sometimes; one bird's really excited because their team won but another bird's feeling a little bummed because their team lost. That part's tough. But since we worked hard for our win, we can celebrate and not feel too bad about it, right?

Looking forward to playing again next week when we take on the RAIDERS! Won't that be a wild game!

Hey Toby!
How's things with you? What have you been doing to keep yourself entertained lately? It's still the same thing for me; sitting on eggs with my gal Gonzo. They're never going to hatch because they're fake but there's no convincing her of that so I just keep on doing what she wants me to do. Mom says next box days are about over; we're soon to be moving out to the Bird Barn for the season. No next boxes there. We're supposed to get off our duff and get some exercise! Just in time for baseball too so that's good. Did you see that I'm now on the 'Tiel Terror team? Yup, an opening came up because of an inactive account so Coach Kacey gave me 1st base position. I'm right across the infield from ya, Toby! Here, let's practice a long throw for the doubly-play.

IT WAS REALLY BAD YESTERDAY. IT WAS SO BAD THAT WHEN MOM WAS BLOGGING LAST NIGHT AND SENDING E-MAILS, SHE LOST HER INTERNET. THERE WAS NO INTERNET SERVICE TILL ABOUT 5AM.

TODAY WAS VERY COLD AND WINDY, ABOUT 38 DEGREES. WE HAD HAIL IN THE MORNING THEN SNOWFLAKES IN THE AFTERNOON BUT THEY DIDN'T STAY.

Thanks for visiting me! I was so thrilled! Are those hawks still around? That is scary! I sure wouldn't want to look out the window and see one of those guys staring at me! I'm sure he'd be thinking "appetizer"!
We had some hot weather for a few days - in the 100s and now we have a cold front so we're in the 70s. Today it's sooooo windy, we're stuck in the house. I still take nice long naps in the comforter in the mornings after breakfast though but I do like my outside time. Did you get snow during this last storm going through? We saw pics on the internet.
Easter break started here this past weekend. It goes for 2 weeks here. It is traditional for everyone to come to the beach so all the usually empty beach houses are packed. Big families come to the houses so it's usual to see 40 people in a little house, all sleeping in hammocks! They said there will be around 1 million people visiting the beaches here during this 2 weeks! So far, lots of people but no noisy parties, at least near our house!

Today's going to be one awesome day weather-wise. It's suppose to be warm! Too bad the sun wasn't going to be shining as well though. That always makes the day feel more alive and energetic. Cloudy days make me think about napping more. Hey, if you'd like to see my room, there's a video of the McBird Room here on the BC. The part on my room is sort of short but you can get an idea of where I hang out in the colder months. Today though I think I'll take you up on your invite and hang out at Snowy's Castle. Mmmm, let's see, what is it I most want to do? Fly! That's what I want to do. Is there some sort of an obstacle flight course? I could really go for some speed flying with all sorts of things to dodge and duck around. I love to do that! Will you join me?

So King Snowball's getting settled into the Castle. Good news right there. How's his scribe? Is she feeling like she's catching up on sleep and sanity? That BOTM run I've heard is a killer. There are so many wonderful supportive friends, it takes a lot to keep in touch with them all. Snowy did awesome and very much deserves his time wearing the crown.

And you, are spending any time hanging out on the Royal Grounds? As the King's frother I would think you'd be getting all the perks that he is. There's got to be some consolation for being a patient cockatiel while he worked his way to the throne. Tell me there's millet sprays everywhere you look! and that you can nibble on anything you like without guilt.

Life is pretty good at this point although Gonzo and I have completely given up at trying to sit on an egg. It's either a parakeet or a conure that's constantly sticking their head in our nest box and some of the 'keets even invite themselves in which we don't like at all. Rather than argue with them about bothering us, Gonzo and I will just leave. I think we'll wait until summer now to try and do the egg thing. The parakeets live in a separate area in the bird barn and the conures, well they stay in the house so Gonzo and I will finally have some peace. In the meantime, we'll just keep ourselves busy with chewing up wicker baskets, bunches of lettuce, slices of wheat bread, cardboard tubes, paper bags and popsicle sticks. COME ON SPRING!

I'm afraid mom got out of character yesterday when she had me talk about mammals. WE are not mammals, WE are birds, but our humans ARE mammals.
Today's animal is a fossil of Psittacosaurus. You know we are psittacines, right? Well, this guy is not one of our ancestors, but he's named like us because of his beak. I'm saying him for a reason, you know. It's hard to see, but if you can magnify the pic at all, you'll notice protofeathers on his tail. They are kind of long and pointed, like our pinfeathers in a way. What's interesting is that they have found psittacosaurs with and without these quills, so the best guess is that the ones with are the guys and the ones without are the girls. It's kind of like songbirds who have more colorful males, or peacocks with more colorful males, etc. It's the same old story, the guys have to 'dress up' to get a mate! They have to impress the girls with how healthy they are and they do that by being handsome. Thanks, as always, for your vote, here's a big hug and vote for you, too. Hugs, Gizmo

Toby! You're just so awesome, coming by to see me on this busy holiday Thursday. Thanks, Man.

Everything's good here with me. The day started out with a sprinkling of wheat cereal to forage for among shredded paper and then later in the day we all got to nibble on some fresh-baked apple cake with walnuts. I thought it was really good and kept hopping back off of mom's hand when I thought I saw another crumb of it hiding under a piece of paper.

I hope the holiday was extra special for you and your family too.

Really great to hear from you. I have been missing out on BC time so much lately, it's not funny. I keep thinking I'll be able to get back in the groove, get a day or two in the week when I get to write, but nooooo, it's always those bigger birds in the flock. And for the most part, it's only one or two of those that are getting to write. There's just not enough time in a day for fun stuff like jibber-jabberin' on the BC!! Thanks again for stopping by my page though. Your note gave me the excuse I needed to demand a turn.

Not much exciting to tell about. I'm of course in the house now. Have been for probably a month or so. Could've been outside these last two days since it was so nice but with chilly temps back tonight, I'm glad I'm still in the house where it's toasty warm. Spent some time yesterday shredding some paper that was wrapped around a sprig of millet. At first I didn't think that rolled-up paper looked the least bit interesting but then I saw a bit of millet sticking out the end and immediately set to work to get to the treat. Needless to say, every precious millet seed is consumed now. Not by only me of course; I had the help of the rest of the 'tiel clan here.

Hope your weekend's set to be a really good one. Mine's off to a good start; your note did that!

Hey that is really great that mom's brother was on the Food Channel and she got to see him. Now how many people get a chance to be on TV. Yup, those pictures are of the bird barn where I've spent the summer months. I posted those to show how it changed in the last couple of months; originally there were not windows on the east side. When dad asked mom what she wanted for her birthday, she said 'a window in the barn'. So he put one in. It let in so much wonderful morning light, mom charmed dad into putting in a second one. It was gloriously bright in there after that. Because there have been a couple of really chilly nights, it was decided us 'tiels should come in for the season, so me and the group are back in the house now. It's nice because I can land on mom a lot more now since she's in and out of our room a lot during the day. Today she brought in a plate full of cornbread crumbs, spinach and brown rice. Needless to say, it was attacked with excitement! I needed mom to come back in about 15 mins later so I could wipe my beak on her shirt. Maybe she knew that and stayed away.

Day 1
After packing the van and doing my last speech of my campaign, I was very tired. I cuddled with my Pepperbird, then fell asleep. Pepper did ask me to remember to bring my fountain spa. I hope I remembered to put it in the van.
Around midnight there was a loud knocking. The castle guard had come to escort me to the castle. I think Miss Chirps has been talking to them, we WALKED for eggcersize. Actually, that helped me wake up again.
Pirate King SamIam was also up, looking a bit tired. He passed me the scepter and tried to give me his sword, but I told him a Pirate King needed to keep that! Then King Sam showed me where to start Miss Popeye's holographic tour, I sure hope I remember where later this morning. I asked King Sam to please stay and sleep until morning. Next George the TIGER started the official tour. He showed me THE MAGIC BANQUET TABLE, you know I'm ALWAYS hungry so I found that particularly interesting. I stayed there awhile, maybe Miss Chirps knows me too well, hehehe.
Then the castle staff showed me MY room.
Cookie and Polly were being quiet, I almost forgot about them. THEN they started giggling. The staff showed them where to sleep also. The moving van had arrived--I think that is where Cookie and Polly came from--and will be unpacked later today.
I can't wait to see WHAT LIZZIE is going to fix for lunch.

Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. I will try very hard to be a good queen.
