In Honor of Little Bird
As a way to commemorate the passing of our bird friends whom we've had to say good bye to here on the Bird Channel, a special section is being prepared on The Calendar Page as a memorial to their passing. Lattie Sr. from the rainbow bridge here. I'm so sorry that you had to go to the rainbow bridge. Unfortunately, that's something, humans and animals, have no control over, but it happens. My human family, lost their skin mom in January. But, anyway, welcome and you will find many friends, here. Now, I'd like to ask. What was wrong with you that you passed at the age of six(6)? I, too, passed away last July, at the age of almost one(1) year. For a cockatiel, you aren't such a little bird. I thought that fits the description of budgies and other smaller birds. Hehehe. I'm having a hard time finding the right words. I know Little Bird is in a better place but it doesn't make it any easier on you. Birds may be small but they leave a hole as big as the universe when they are gone. I believe that their spirit does still come around or at least still watches us. Peanut here to tell you how sorry I was to hear about what happened. Oh it's so sad and I hope that in time your Mom's heart will heal so that she smiles when she thinks of you. I know that you are now playing with my frother Buddy who surprised us all by leaving.

DEAR LITTLE BIRD, I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW YOU BUT I HEARD YOU HAD BROKE YOUR WING. WE KEPT YOU IN OUR PRAYERS EVEN THOUGH MOM DIDN'T BLOG YOU. OUR FLOCK AND FAMILY JUST LOST A TIEL, OUR FROTHER MAXI. HE WAS 17 1/2 YRS OLD. IT WAS A VERY TRAGIC ACCIDENT. MOM IS STILL DISTRAUGHT OVER IT. ITS VERY HARD WHEN YOU LOSE A FEATHERED FAMILY MEMBER. THEY STEAL YOUR HEART.
MOM IS JUST NOW GETTING BACK TO BLOGGING ON THE BC. WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU GET THRU THIS. AS FOR LITTLE BIRDS MATE, ITS GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME BEFORE THEY GET OVER CALLING. KACEY STILL CALLS FOR MAXI AND LOOKS ALL OVER FOR HIM ESPECIALLY AT MEAL TIMES. JUST GIVE HIM LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION TO HELP HIM GRIEVE.
I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY OF OUR PRECIOUS BABIES ARE LEAVING FOR THE RAINBOW BRIDGE.

Another sad day for us as we read the note about your Little Bird leaving you for the Rainbow Bridge. I hope our Nigel will meet him there and make him feel comfortable in his new beautiful surroundings..Cockatiels are very dear to my Mom's heart as it was a sweet Cockatiel that first captured her heart many years ago and she still misses her little guy so much..He left us also to a tragic accident, but he left us knowing he was very loved and pampered during his short life..Love and warm hugs to Mom and our prayers are with you. I thought for sure this would all have a happy ending- that we'd be here to cheer you each day as you got better, little by little. My heart just sank when I read that you'd slipped away after all, the trama of the accident too much in the end. I am so sorry. So sorry about everything; the accident, the pain, the fear, the having to say good bye to your mama. Feathers is going to miss you so much. The thought just breaks my heart.
