There’s a store called Kleinschmidt’s smack in the middle between where my first flockily lives and my new flockily’s place. My Aunt Jana was workin’ the day Dad needed a new hat and, well…one thing led to another and Aunt Jana asked Mom and Dad if they’d be interested in “a grey talking bird”. [Now I ASK YA, is that any way to talk about one o’ the most intelligent Kritters on the planet?!?] ~~ My aunt knew that my first mom had been hoping to find someone that I would let handle me and love me and that I would cuddle with like I did with my first dad until he left for the Rainbow Brigde about 4 years ago. My first mom soooo wanted to be able to be that for me. But I was just sad without my dad. And I got distant, and offish, and I even had her a little scared of me; and she wanted me to be happy and loved like I was used to. ~~ So, along comes these two parronts of a gang called The K Kritter Korral…. And wouldn’t ya know it, we hit it off right away. My first mom could tell that it was a good match. And my new mom told her that the only way I could come home with them was if my first mom promised she would call and talk to me and come and see me whenever she got to missin’ me. ~~ Abra Cadabra…I got a new address!!! And new parronts, and new fiblings, and a new cage, and a new diet… WHEW! It’s a good thing I’m adaptable!!!

Active within 6 Days Hi! My name is ¶’> Sidney~2013 Grey't Grey Wings Short Field Bird I am a Congo African Grey from Warrensburg, MO. Sid, Chicken, Sir Laugh-A-Lot, Door Man (‘cause I “squeak” the doors open and closed whenever someone comes in or goes out) 14 years old M Congo African Grey Dried papaya; French fries; Pizza crust; Corn on the cob; Scrambled eggs; Cantaloupe; There’s this one called Stitch’s Spicy Popcorn that I hear is the PRIMO snack around the Korral. I haven’t tried it yet but I understand with football season startin’, it’ll be served up every Sunday night! (I’ll let ya know what I think.) First choice is Dad’s shoulder; then Mom’s shoulder or at the desk with her when she’s at the computer. After that, anywhere OUTside my cage is fine with me! Never getting enough SCRITCHES!!! Then I suppose it’s that nobirdy but Dad can give me scritches while I’m sittin’ on their hand. Put me on your shoulder. Set me on your lap. Scritch me anywhere but on your hand! ~~ Apparently I don’t like my tail feathers either. I haven’t let them grow back in since my first dad left for The Bridge. My first mom worked real hard to teach me lots of songs that I whistle. My new mom (who can’t whistle to save her soul!) tries to keep up with my repertoire. ~~ Mom never goes by my cage without at least talkin’ to me, and most times she stops and gives me scritches too. ~~ And I get to go all over the house with Mom while she takes care of my food and cage and stuff. I like sittin’ at the computer best though. There’s so much to get into on her desk! There are 10 birds and 9 felines in my new flockily. And Mom SWEARS that I get every single one of them laughin’ with me when I get goin’. Then there’s the whistlin’ contests that I get started, and about drive Mom right out the front door…which I “squeak” open for her as she runs away! ~~ And this one REALLY gets to a mom…At night, when Mom has covered me up, if I hear Mom or Dad movin’ around I crawl down to the bottom of my cage where I can see out from under the sheet and refuse to go nite-nite ‘til they do! ~~ Oh yeah…And Mom’s not so crazy about my recipe for Parrot Soup. But I keep tryin’ to convince her by makin’ her a fresh batch TWICE A DAY.. Laugh and the whole flock laughs with you!.

Well, bazebol is finally here and we have our first game on Friday against the big birds...the Major League Beaks.

We need to just relax and have some fun playing some bazebol, we have done the work so now it is time to let our muscles do the remembering...

Bazebol is supposed to be a fun game so lets have some fun on Friday...If we win that will be awesome but if we don't it is not the end of the world. The most important thing is to have fun and do your very best, that is all that I ask of you...

That tail feather that I have that always wants to grow off at an odd angle, well, mom just trimmed it short so I wouldn't notice it anymore. Wish she'd thought to do that months ago instead of leaving the thing to stick out and distract me all the time.

Hello Greyt Grey Wing!
As the assistant coach for the GGWs, I've been asked by our darling Coach Chloe to come around and announce that tomorrow is the beginning of SPRING TRAINING for our team. That's right, it's time to get ready to play ball! On Monday (4.15) and/or Tuesday (4.16) let's begin with TWO LAPS around the perimeter of the baseball field. Don't push yourself if you've not been all that active this past winter, but if you feel you're in fairly good shape or really want to impress your teammates (and yourself) go for three laps at an impressive pace. Follow up with stretches for those warmed-up muscles and some squats on the edge of a step to power up the legs. There'll be water and energy snacks available.

See you at KEVLAR STADIUM (239836) sometime between Monday morning and Tuesday evening.

I have to tell you, every time I type your name, which isn't often enough, I find myself practicing the saying of it, over and over, because for some reason, it's sort of a tongue twister of a name, at least for me. *Kelly giggles a little.* I always end up saying "D'Biddle" at the end instead of B'Diddle! Silly me, huh?

I've been lucky this weekend in getting some writing time and have used the opportunity to buzz around to the baseball teammates I'll be joining forces with out there on that great expanse of green. Once it turns warmer of course. Oh Sid, do you think it'll ever be warmer? Tell me you have faith...

It's going to be just peachy getting to play ball on the same team you're on, Sid. I think this is a first for you and me, is it not? Looking forward to it.

Hey you talking Grey bird! What's the talk about in town this week? Parrot Soup with all the trimmings? !! It IS one of the biggest feasting days of the year comin' up. I'm not at all sure about a cooked bird being the center of attention but hey, who am I to question tradition? We'll just be thankful it's wasn't a parrot that became the preferred holiday fare. I AM glad that it's a common practice to visit family and friends to wish them a GREYT day of celebrating the blessings of life. Here's hoping yours are too numerous for your gray matter to count.

If you aren't the sweet-talkin'est suave Grey-guy, I don't know who is. Well, there is my Poirot but I have to say, your last note was very generous with the compliments. Thank you for that. A girl doesn't mind a second opinion every now and then. Yours is highly valued I might add.

Glad to hear you did get that desired bit of extra Dad-time last weekend. Another chance is just around the corner. Can you believe we're a third of the way through this mid-fall month already? I can't. I mean, it seems we were just warming up for baseball and now we're looking for our knit caps and down jackets to ward off the chill that's blowing in. Brrrr! I heard your heat-producing machine was on the fritz for a bit. That had to be a bit concerning what with ever-chilling temperatures lurking outside your front window. Believe it or not I saw SNOW flying by mine yesterday! It was only for a brief moment or two but long enough to be reminded of what's to come once the turkey dinner's gobbled up and the pumpkin pie's wiped from my beak onto mom's shirt.

Thanks for the fly-by Mr. Sid. You have yourself a good one today. I'm going to work at doing the same.

Okay, I already know you won't be perching on your dad's shoulder — I'm sorry about that. Perhaps Mom will let you use her for a substitute. Did you get in any good quality Dad time over the weekend while he was home? Sure hope so. It's just the opposite for me— weekends are when I have to tolerate my Dad hogging more of mom's time.
