Shorty was found by a family member underneath a lawn chair at the pool where they lived. They kept her for awhile, but really didn't take proper care of her, so she ended up with me. I was afraid of her, had never been around birds before and totally didn't know what I was doing. Through trial and error as well as lots of reading and bonding, Shorty has become a very important fixture in my life who I love very much and wouldn't trade for the quiet, clean house I knew before!.

My name is Shorty I am a Jenday Conure from Seabrook, TX. 9 years old F Jenday Conure Dryed Papaya and fresh apples Her bed is popular, on my shoulder while I do things around the house and in the bathroom on "Towel Mountain" while I get ready. Shorty does not like many people; we assume she might have been abused by her previous owner or seriously warped from her time she spent lost outside. She has bonded to me, but no one else! Therefore, she prefers no one else to be in our house EVER! She will squawk and squawk, fiercely protecting our home! I love my mom because she loves me a lot no matter how hard I am to live with sometimes! She's always bringing me my favorite treats and new toys from the toy store too - she's sort of like Santa! Shorty tells everyone and everything to "Come here Stupid!" This phrase plus her scared tendancies cause me to believe that she may have been neglected or abused (and possibly even let out to get rid of) by her previous owner. This is all she knows how to say, and she says it often! Shorty loves to hang out under a blanket on my chest when I'm on the couch. If I speak to her, she will come chirping out from under the blanket gently towards my mouth, as if to tell me to be quiet - she wants me seen and not heard apparently!. Keep Out!.

I love people, but sometimes they can be very scary when I meet them for the first time. Hey Shorty, You're very pretty and I'm so glad you have a good home now, this is my 2nd home and my Mom had never had a bird so she was afraid of me too. Finally getting up the nerve she got me out of the cage (with a towel) and taught me to step up, let me sit with her and we've been good buddies every since but I like my Dad too! Keep it a secret but I'm pretty spoiled! Do hope you learn to make friends with those who come to see you at home! I like to whistle for everyone, especially girls!
