You're right, the season is just starting! Last night mom and the family celebrated Mother's Day with a lovely dinner at a Japanese restaurant. It was one of those places where the chef comes and fixes a hibachi meal with lots of flare, so it was fun to watch. Today it's another beautiful day, so after mom's tours this afternoon, I just know we'll get to go outside for awhile. She hasn't set up the fountain yet, so she may get to that today or tomorrow. She already has a base set up, so just needs to assemble and plug in the pump to get it started. We are still hoping for a few veggies, but we are out of space to plant! Hi Peetie,
here i am again at long last! Mum just posted new pics.
She made a cute new doggie, a blue headed pionus, a hyacinth macaw, a golden conure, even an octopus & an Indian ring neck. She's also made a new female ekkie & believe it or not, a pink pig with some piglets & a baby seal, but no pictures of them yet.
Our nice warm weather has finally come to an end. It is down right cold now, with a very stiff breeze blowing, but the water is still surprisingly warm (she just had a swim) but she says when you come out, you better hurry into the hot shower. Hope you'll have a nice w/e.

I'm really excited about cheering for the team. I've always cheered the team on but this time I get to do with with pom poms. Love these things; they make the neatest swishy noise and they're all sparkly. A conure's favorite things, you know.

Hey Peetie!
Can you believe it, our first game's just an hour away. I'm so excited I can hardly stay still. Oh wait, I rarely sit still EVER. Maybe that just means I'm excited about life a lot of the time, huh?
How's everything here? It's pretty good. I've been going outside in a day cage here lately, lounging on the back porch while mom does some work in the yard. Since I got my wings trimmed back in the winter (we have a new puppy and mom was afraid that one of the times I launched myself because something freaked me out, I'd end up too close to the dog and become, well, you know...) Anyway, since my wings are trimmed hanging out in the bird barn's pretty much not going to work for me. Everything out there is like 6' off the ground and impossible for a flightless wonder to reach. I'm happy I guess with just hanging out in a cage though if I had my way, I'd sure like to take a lap around the yard every now and then.

Hey Peetie!
See you at the game tomorrow! Mom has been so busy with us getting ready for bazebol, that our blogging time has been limited to team stuff! Dad was in the states for two weeks and just got back so that was part of the problem. We kept mom hopping with caring for us and the bunnies and of course there are the feral cats and possums too. We all wanted a piece of her so we could each get scritched etc. and that was hard with dad gone. But he's back and brought us lots of toys and new happy huts and stuff so we're thrilled!

Our First Game is Thursday 5/16 @ 3 pm
Crackerjack Conures!!!!!
Listen up! Our first game will be Thursday against the Wonder Wings team! It should be a great game and we're playing against my frother Scion! hehehe! The first pitch goes at 3 pm EST. If you can't be there during the game, try to fly over to the stadium either earlier or later to see what is going on there. This year participation is everything and it will be checked by the officials! I sent out the season calendar with all our games on it yesterday in an email. Let me know if you didn't receive it!
I have two chores for the team!
1. Please blog me your hatch day - so we can be sure to give your the hatch day wishes from the team on your special day.
2. Please fly around and say hi to each CJC team member. We do have some new team members this year and we need to make them welcome! The team roster is on my profile page with everybirds' page number.
Tomorrow is Opening Day - the events begin at 2:30 EST but the first pitch is at 3 pm EST and the White Hawks are playing the Pois. It will be a great game if you have a chance to fly by! See you there! And see you at our first game on Thursday afternoon!

What a surprise we had today! Not only is it cold (low 30’s) but we had snow all afternoon. Thank goodness it didn’t stay on the ground. But, my parronts had to bring in the 3 outside plants they just bought. Our star magnolia is pretty much gone now, thanks to the weather. Have a warm and cozy night.

That sounds like fun but, I have to stay inside my stroller or Wingabago. Is your outside area enclosed? It wouldn't be safe for me at all in the woods. We had lots of beautiful days and now we are back to cold and rainy. It's 30 degrees at night ... brrrr.
It was really dark and gloomy today with the rain. The next couple of days will be in the 40’s and the low 30’s at night. We’re getting lots of rain, thank goodness it’s NOT snow!
Today, I was very chatty. I guess I had a lot to say …LOL! Have a good night.

I DID have a wonderful day as a King. Millet and wet red leaf lettuce and chunks of hard bread were hung here, there and everywhere in my bird room and me and the rest of my 'Keet family feasted like royalty. I could get use to that lifestyle!

I'm back! Here it is Sunday night and we are all so tired. It was a big weekend for us. Some of our company came on Friday for the Kentucky Oaks. Then the rest joined us on Saturday for the Kentucky Derby party. We enjoyed being with our friends and everyone had a great time. A couple of mom’s horses did pretty good. For the KY Oaks, one of her horses came in second (Beholder) and for the KY Derby, one came in third (Revolutionary). Better luck next year! Our weather for Friday, Saturday and Sunday was beautiful. I hope it stays that way. Don’t forget the Milonga Derby is on May 11th (Bailey’s hatchday).

The Green Guy looks really cool. What do you think of him? It's really sweet that your family opened their hearts and arms and welcomed him in. Bet he's breathing a sigh of relief knowing he's got a place to call home again.
I was enjoying some very Florida-like weather yesterday and the day before but today it feels like winter's trying to make a comeback. Yesterday the windows were all opened, today they're shut and the little heater's back on. Boy, what a difference a day makes, huh? A brand new moluccan cockatoo, she just finished today. It's a really big one. A little sun conure, a pug doggie (it's for Cookies mum) 2 yellow sided green cheeked conures, 2 budgies with only one foot each, the lady who ordered them wanted them exactly like that, b/c her 2 are like that. And a toucan.
Hope you've been well & slowly getting summery weather.
We had b'ful autumn days, but today was a bit cooler with strong winds. Mum's still swimming every day. It'll be alright for another month or so.

We will be meeting Mr Green soon then!! After supper tonight mom got her bath and instead of putting on her pajamas she put her clothes on and I thought uh oh we are going somewhere. I was hoping not to the dreaded vets again. Then mom said they were going to watch the one grand daughter play a softball game. I thought that was good and mom would forget about the dreaded medicines but they were right home in time for the usual dose. Mom says it will help me get better but I feel better enough I think and don’t need that medicine. Thank you so much for this honor of BOTD!! We were so surprised to find out I won it and mom gave me a new happy hut for winning too..woooo hooo! Cant wait to meet Mr. Green! This evening mom and dad went to the one grand daughters softball games. It was a good game and in the beginning they weren’t winning but in the end they did and the team was very excited too. Mayday Mayday, that is not always a call for help, in this case it's just a happy greeting for our new month! Dad is going to take it a little easier today, he has been hitting it pretty hard and has rediscovered some dormant Winter muscles! The plan for today is to get our cherry tomatoes planted, and some okra in the side yard! Our outside aviary is almost ready, and dad has an old cage to carry Ziggy in and out, he is so small, he could escape through the spaces in our aviary! I will be taking Offlee Wild out for a good workout today, he's a great horse! Have a nice day, give my love to all in your home...

Not much new here, mom is doing a lasagna dinner for Nghi's family tonight, so we're keeping this short. She already made the braciole(seasoned, rolled steaks) and sausage, and the little meatballs are done and ready to go. So, just the sauce, noodles, and assembly/baking are left. She has to clean the house before they come too, you know: feathers, fur, food on every surface! Tomorrow is tour day, so we'll see you tomorrow afternoon. Hope your day is fantastic! Boy, sure sounded like your parronts had a good time that Lion County Safari place. That's wild about the ostrich that was attacking cars. Wonder if he thought they were intruders or if he liked all the shiny stuff on the vehicles. Hope nobody thinks those odd shaped birds are related to you and me. Sounds like one of those relatives you don't anyone to know you're related to!
That's so funny about the colorful word in the video that's keeping it from being posted on the BC. Bet watching Mango in his water bowl's a hoot. Maybe your mom will figure out how to edit that sound effect so we'll all be able to see that silly flockmate of yours. I see you and Paulie now have a vid too. I'll have to beg mom to take me over to watch it. I like watching videos of conures. Holds my attention like you wouldn't believe.
It's so warm here today I hear the family's going to be turning on the A/C. The window in my room is wide open and the wind is blowing in like crazy; feels wonderful! No a/c necessary for this girl. I may take an extra dip in my water bowl though. That would feel nice.

Just a quick hello today, as it's after 5 and mom is just getting in. She trained this morning, then took her car to the dealer for an inspection. That inspection trip lasted over 3 1/2 hours, and she's pretty upset right now. It's a newish car, less than 5000 miles, should have taken, at her estimation, about an hour and a half for an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation. Anyway, we need our attention, so this note is brief. Tomorrow, we may do better. Hope you are having a great day. We had another no jacket day today. It was partly sunny but I'll still take it! I think that rain is coming for days. hope it doesn't mess up the derby!

Introduction into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of fame of clearly the highest level of achievement and recognition in Thoroughbred racing but it is an honor, not an award. In Thoroughbred horse racing there is only one award that really matters: the Eclipse Award. This award is racing’s equivalent to the Academy Award (Oscar). As with other prestigious awards, there are many categories for the Eclipse: owners, breeder, trainer, jockey, apprentice jockey, and Horse of the Year etc.

Hi Peetie
This morning mom had a few things to do around here and then she went to visit with her sister a while. She is here for the summer and usually comes back but didn’t last summer so mom didn’t see her for a long time. Moms sister used to live in Wyoming but sold the ranch and outfitters business when her husband retired from the soda mine. Now they spend the summers in Pennsylvania and the winters in Arizona. We missed you at practice but there are also practices on Tues and Thurs. nite at 8 EST so hopefully you'll make one or both! Sat. afternoon isn't a great time for practice especially when the weather is nice! Picabo's team had practice at that time too so that's why I did it then since we had to be there for that!

Well, it's official! Mommy's adoption application was accepted, and we are picking up Jester at 5:30. I promise to have mommy post his history when she gets home with him, but right now she has to go finish a painting for his foster dad. Look for his BC page later today. :)

V4U today. I bet that Mango was so cute when he was talking. So who was talking more in the video, Mango or your dad? LOL :) Our mom made us some more birdie bread. We love it. It's been rainy and cold here. The baby robins were still in their nest as of yesterday. Wouldn't surprise me if they fly off any day now. They are so big, and can barely fit in there anymore.
