  Hi Dory
we got your xmas card today with the lovely picture of you and your flock enclosed. thank you so much.

.mom was reading something very interesting today. a group of scientists from the netherlands have developed a mushroom that eats only plastic. they developed this to try and take care of the huge amounts of discarded plastics floating around in giant floating piles in our oceans today. most of the discarded plastics are from the united states.. the scientists say it will be many years of testing before they can determine if the plastic eating mushroom would be edible by humans. since many plastics are now used in shampoos and makeup mom had a disturbing thought. as a young girl in the 50s she saw a movie called attack of the mushroom people. it was about a group of travelers who had been stranded on this island with no food. they found these delicious mushrooms that staved off their hunger but the more they ate the faster they actually turned into mushrooms themselves. mom was terrified to eat any mushrooms for fear she would turn into one. now she has to worry if the mushrooms will attack her face because of the plastic in the makeup or attach themselves to moms hair because of the plastic in the shampoo. what if the plastic eating mushrooms form a gang and liberate the poor mushrooms grown on mushroom farms because they aren't being treated humanely. at least mom feels some sense of hope that some are trying to get rid of the huge piles of plastic trash and maybe being a mushroom might not be such a bad deal.

love Cori

  Hi Dory
I love your Christmas pics, thanks. I'm not happy with mine. It was suppose to be larger but, mom waited long enough for them. They installed a new machine and were messing up so many orders.
I'm happy that your doors are finally fixed. We are so happy not to have propane any more. That was sure pricey! The gas company finally come thru here a few years ago and we all have natural gas now.
Oh yes, you girls can come too. Don't forget to pack your swimsuits.
I saw the sun for an hour today. It made all the snow on the trees and ground look like crystals, very pretty. I don't know why it won't stay. The snow will be back for sure on Tuesday. I hope the sun comes back too. It stays away much too long!
Hugs
Chyna

Come visit me, Chyna ~ It's winter! & Bailey ♥ RIP.

  HiDory
Boy your mommy sure got that right!
Mom thought she was going to get some things done here today but just when she got her cleaning done and started the next project skin sis called. She had went out to start her car to go to the store and it wouldn’t start so mom and dad went over with the battery charger. It started pretty quick and she left it run a while and went to the store and it seems ok. Think the problem was not running it for a while cause they were using BIL car. Mom did come home and did a few more things but the rest are on the list for tomorrow now.

  Hi Dory
So the new doors are installed? That's good, I bet your folks are happy with that. And you get goodies when Rudy listens? What could be better?
Today mom had 2 tours at the museum, one on climate change and biomes with 7th grade, and one with 6th grade called 3 Cultures. The one with the 7th graders was fun, it was interesting to mom to have 2 guys in the new docent class trailing her to see how to do them, too. (She hasn't had men chasing her for the longest time, hahaha.) The second tour had about 100 kids, which meant 10 docents and groups! The halls they visit for 3 cultures are close together, but small. They compare 3 desert cultures, ancient Egypt, Inuits (tundra) from about 100 years ago, and modern Hopi Indians. It's hard not to bump into other docents with their tour groups when the halls are so small and close together, but it's manageable if everyone is going in the same direction.
Anyway, mom is home now and will go out to dinner tonight with her sister. At least the tree and stockings are up and in place! Mom did that yesterday while she was waiting for the furnace people to call about Aunt Gin's house. They called her finally and set up another day, next Tuesday! GAAAAHHH!
I hope you are having a good day and getting some scritches and cuddles today. Hugs, Willie
