  Hi Tooth
Hello my dear BC friends. It was a long day without our beloved BC family but we are happy to say once it was up and going it was actually much faster then before. I had a special request from one of my friends to example the breeding of mutations. As this is a limited BOTM series I will touch on it briefly. For anyone interested in more in depth study I have a number of very good links and references.
In simplest terms a "mutation" is any deviation from the "normal wild-type" of any species of animal or bird. They occur spontaneously in the wild, as well as in captivity. In the wild MOST mutations have a very limited life-span owing to their coloration or other physical characteristics that make them more visible and easier prey. An example of a successful mutations are the red markings on normal Congo African Greys. These individuals integrate well into existing grey colored flocks.
In Captivity mutations are able to live and mature thereby offering breeders an opportunity to reproduce like marked/colored offspring. An excellent example is the Blue Budgie. These spontaneously occurred in several continents. By breeding Blue offspring back to normal parents the breeders were able to produce more of the same. Through selective culling and breeding of F2-second generation-blues the color was stabilized. Mutations can continue to occur even in a new mutation color--such as the blue Budgies who then produced offspring with yellow-Lutino or albino pigments. Inbreeding, selective crossing and out crosses to other colored mutations has given rise to all the many colors common in Budgies.
When looking specifically at Quaker Parrots, whose natural color is green/grey we find that the first mutation was a Blue baby hatched in Belgium in the 1940s. It is a complete replacement of the normal green plumage by blue. The gene for blue plumage is Autosomal Recessive and both hens and cocks can be heterozygous or ‘split’ for or‘carriers’ of blue – depending upon your favored terminology! This means--both parents must carry the gene to produce blue even though they are visually "normals" Today there are a large number of mutations being bred.
With all mutations, breeders must cull out the colors they do not want and breed the desired colors into the gene pool. Through consecutive generations of offspring the color is improved upon, often mutating from the original mutation thereby adding yet another new color for serious breeders to work with. Mutation possibilities are limitless as they occur spontaneously and can not be "created" by humans. Hybrids must not be confused with mutations. Hybrids are the result of breeding two diverse species within the same Genera together--examples of which are the Hybrid Macaws, Blue/Gold mated to a Green Wing etc.
Today we will visit a selection of mutations from a number of different species, I hope you enjoy the results.

  Hi Tooth
Hello everybirdie, Zeena here with today's special guests. I had a few problems getting them to settle down and then a few chewed their way out of the box, but finally I bribed them with a few Almonds. Today we pause briefly to visit a few very beautiful and interesting Cockatoo mutations. Cockatoos have been cross species bred for a number of years, giving rise to some odd and uncommon looking individuals. However, the birds we will stop to visit today are natural occurring mutations, some of which have been hatched in the wild. Ok, guys, climb down from there please, it's time to get a few photos.
Cockatoos are found in the wild in only a limited area of the world. They are found primarily in Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia, as well as surrounding areas in the South Pacific.

The cockatoo (of the family Cacatuidae) is one of the most well-known birds in the parrot family because it’s quite noisy; in fact, it’s the loudest of all the parrots. Their loudness comes from a history of having to communicate long distances with one another in dark, thick forests. Cockatoos are found in Australia and some surrounding islands, mainly in forested areas. These birds form flocks, with sometimes up to three different types of cockatoos, to feed together on berries, nuts and seeds. Most cockatoos even stay in the same flock they were raised in and often mate in long-lasting pairs.

Like all parrots, cockatoos are zygodactyl, which means they can use their feet to grasp objects, making them excellent climbers. Although parrots are often colorful, most cockatoos are actually black and white because they lack a certain texture in their feathers that reflects light. In the 1970s, many cockatoos were trapped for the pet trade and their numbers in the wild have decreased dramatically. In fact, some Indonesian cockatoos are now thought to be extinct in the wild. Others are quickly declining due to hunting, poisoning and illegal poaching. Looked upon as pests and nuisances they fight to maintain their territories with ever growing human invasion.

Cockatoos are gregarious, sensitive, demanding and classed as high-maintenance. They have a powerful beak they freely use to chew and tear woodwork and furnishing in homes if left unsupervised. Not a bird for most novices, those who have loved and been loved by one, will forever be a Cockatoo fan.

I hope you enjoy the photos of some of the wonderful mutations available today.

Hello my dear friends. Thank you all for the lovely words of encouragement and your faithful daily votes. i hope you are enjoying viewing a few very rare and uncommon Parrots and birds. All the birds I have discussed are species that are kept in captivity. Some we will not see, or won't see available for a long time due to their rarity.
Today we will stop by to visit some very common friends, in some very interesting and striking colors. Momma Deb has raised many Green Cheeked Conures in her lifetime but none like those we will see today. Many are only available to breeders at this time due to their difficulty in reproducing their colors. I hope you will enjoy what you see.
Momma Deb and I tried to locate the current price of many of these beauties and have listed them here, just for your information sake--

American Dilutes--$2000.00 US a pair and up
American Dilutes yellow-sided---$ 3800 to 6000Us a pair
Red-Faced Yellow-sided----$2500 to 7000.US a pair
Sun Cheek -------$ 4500 to 8500US a pair
Moon Cheeks---$7000Us and up for good stock
Mint-----$5000 to 10,000US a pair
Turquoise---$500 US a pair and up
Cinnamon Turquoise---$750 US and up a pair
Recessive Pied-----$4000 to 8000US a pair and up
Red-Factored Pineapples--$300US and up per pair
Dilute Moon Cheeks---$7000US and up per pair

There are by far not all the new and shocking color mutations available but will give you a good idea of what has been hatching in Green Cheeked Conure nest boxes lately.

Habitat:
Seen in dense, low forests and woodlands. Also in moist, mossy cloud forest on E Andes where seen up to 2900m (9512 ft).

Threat Summary:
Probably declining in E Bolivia because of rapid forest clearance. They are found on CITES
Appendix II. There are flocks living in both Florida and California which can be seen in company of the wild Amazon Parrots.

Hello everybirdie, Zeena here to start this week with one of the worlds most well known Parrots. Today we stop to visit the Senegal Parrots and their mutations. I wish to thank you all for your greyt support and daily votes in my quest to earn the Title of Bird of the Month for August.
Over the last 30 years as many as 3 million wild Senegal parrots have been removed from the wild – 811,408 CITES Export permits have been issued since 1975. Unregulated trade in African parrots peaked in the 1980s and ’90s, and still exists today. This lucrative black market industry is fueled by profiteering middlemen who exploit wild bird populations. In 2005, the Senegal parrot was the most traded bird on the CITES Appendix II, with an average of over 45,000 individuals being removed from the wild each year. Today, African parrots remain among the most traded species on earth.
The Poicephalus parrots, including Senegals, Red-bellied and Myers etc are among the hardiest parrots on earth being able to survive in the harsh, African subtropics. All of their ranges are under serious pressure from the booming charcoal industry, out-of-control commercial logging , burning by local people for pastures and agriculture, as well as climate change. Deforestation rates on the continent are now twice that of the rest of the world. Africa has lost one half of its old-growth forests and forest restoration has become absolutely essential to save endemic forest bird species.
Long-lived forest specialists like Senegal parrots and rose-ringed parakeets are particularly sensitive to forest degradation. The added pressure of the wild-caught bird trade is often catastrophic, resulting in local extinctions in many Africa countries. Meyer’s parrots have all but disappeared from South Africa, African grey parrots are no longer seen in Kenya or Tanzania, Ruppell’s parrot and the brown-headed parrot have disappeared from much of their ranges in Namibia and Mozambique respectively, and the Cape parrot is only found in small forest refuges in the high mountains. Anyone who has traveled by road in Africa will tell you that every time you are in or near a forest you will start seeing parrots in cages or with their feet tied up on the roadside. Africa is exporting its parrots, its wildlife, its birdlife, its natural heritage,at alarming rates.
The Senegal Parrot is now extinct in many of it's ranges. The only way to stop this trade in wild-caught Parrots is to refuse to purchase birds that are not born in captivity.
Many devoted Senegal breeders have been working with a few unique mutations that have appeared in nestboxes starting in the early 1990's. These rare and beautiful mutations are still expensive and normally available only to other breeders, they include the yellow, pied, opaline, dilute and cinnamon. Regardless of color Senegal Parrots will remain one of the most common family pet birds kept the world over.

  Hi Tooth
Hi everyone, Zeena, here with your Sunday BOTM POST. I want to take a moment to thank you all for all your support and votes during this month's BOTM campaign. Today, we will visit with some unique and usual Budgie mutations. Known by many names, Parakeet, Budgie, and officially Budgerigars. these fun-loving, friendly members of the avian family are loved the world over.

Feather Dusters
Feather Dusters are a rare mutation produced solely at random, mostly among English Budgies. These birds are huge compared to other budgies and have abnormally growing, very long feathers. As the name implies they do look rather like the feather dusters used for dusting furniture. They must eat constantly to try and supply their bodies with the nutrients they need because of the heavy demand put on them by the constant feather growth. They generally don't live more than a few months, cannot fly, and are usually blind. They are also thought to be deaf and may even be afflicted with what is known in humans as Down's Syndrome.

Half Siders

Half-Siders a randomly occurring rare mutation in which the bird is split right down the middle with each half representing a different color or variety. One side may be blue and one half green, one half normal and the other half pied, etc. When one of these is at a show, you can tell exactly where it is in the room because of all of the people standing in front of the cage doing double takes. As they say, you have to see it to believe it. Quarter-Siders, in which only one quarter of the body is affected, also occur.

CRESTED

In this variety, the feathers on top of the budgie's head point awry, forming a crest.
There are three types of crested budgies: full-circular crest, half-circular crest and the tufted crest.
Crested Budgies are both a random occurring mutation, and one for which breeders can breed to produce them. They are relatively rare and sell for upwards of $100US each and more depending on crest.
Helicopter Budgies

These unusual Budgies are bred to produce long, silkie feathers at the shoulder and upper wing margins. The more complete the covering the higher the quality and price. They are especially popular in Japan and Asia where pairs can sell for up to $55,000US

  Hi ya Tooth~
I hope you had a wonderful day. It was a pretty nice one here. We had some computer problems but mom ran a scan and it all seems to be running okay now.
I spent the day supervising chores and playing with toys. Dad is home and he is a bit messy. There is of course tons of laundry stacked in the living room! Really kind of boring around here but that is just fine by me!
Mom did the market thing early today since dad had 2 doctor appointments. He has to squeeze them all in when he is home. I don't know when he is going to go back out on the road.
Enjoy the evening and I do hope it's perfect!

Hi everyone, Happy TGIF. Today we will make a stop in India to visit a strange looking member of the avian world. The Wreathed Hornbill. These majestic birds are seen in Zoos and private collector's aviaries. The Wreathed Hornbill , also known as the Bar-pouched Wreathed Hornbill, is a species of Hornbill found in forests from far north-eastern India and Bhutan, east and south through mainland south-east Asia and the Greater Sundas, except Sulawesi. The Wreathed Hornbill is a large (4-8 pounds) black bird with a yellowish tail, red eyes, and a long, thick beak topped with a small 'wreathed' casque with up to 9 ridges. The male has a bright yellow inflatable throat pouch, while the female's is blue. It is suggested that the casque, which has a spongy hollow core, may serve as a resonating chamber for its harsh barking call, as a form of species recognition, and/or to convey health status. The first two cervical vertebrae are fused to help their neck support the extra weight of the large bill. Their 2nd and 3rd toes are partially fused to help them better grasp tree branches. Using droppings, mud, and fruit pulp, the female hornbill is renowned for walling itself into tree hollows for up to 41/2 months while nesting. The female leaves only a small slit through which its mate must pass all needed foodstuffs until their babies fledge.
The wreathed hornbill is an omnivorous feeder, eating mostly fruit. The male, however, will feed small animals such as bats, reptiles, frogs, crabs, and insects to the females and developing chicks. It can find food from the treetops to the forest floor as well as in water.
Captive breeding the Wreathed Hornbill is difficult but successful once specific requirements are provided. This species is intelligent and sensitive to change and it takse longer to form pairs; young males are vulnerable to bullying by older females; heated accommodation are absolutely necessary and a higher protein diet is needed for them to rear their chicks successfully. These and several other factors make them more difficult to maintain and breed compared to their African counterparts.
Chicks, when available sell to private breeders, and collectors for thousands of dollars each. This fact and their need for massive flights makes them unsuitable except for serious experienced collectors/breeders.
Tomorrow, we once more take a peak inside a nest box to discover what new is hatching inside.

Hello everyone, Zeena here with a special tribute to my frother Lupe'. Lupe' left us recently after he sustained severe injuries to his feet by another bird. Rest in peace, "Momma's Special Boy! I love you forever!"
Today's special Parrot is the Tucaman Amazon. This post was very difficult for me to write.

The Tucumán Amazon (Amazona tucumana) is native to Northern Argentina where it is found in the provinces of Tucumán, Salta and Jujuy as well as Southeast Bolivia in provinces of Chuquisaca and Tarija. They prefer forested areas between 3,400 and 7,300 ft; but may migrate to lower altitudes in autumn and winter. They inhabit woodland areas . The main concentrations of this species in Bolivia occur in Montes Chapeados, Villa Serrano and Tariquía Flora and Fauna National Reserve, with 1,643 individuals recorded at various sites during a recent study) A dedicated national population census and monitoring initiative is required to provide an accurate estimate of the Bolivian population and to locate, measure and monitor local populations and post-breeding roosts.

The Tucumán Amazon is a mostly green, short tailed parrot 31 cm (12 in) long. The green feathers of the upper-body have black margins. There is red plumage on the forehead and fore-crown, and the red does not extend around the white eye-rings. It has red primary wing feathers and no red at the bend of the wing. It has orange thighs and red at the base of the green tail. They have a horn colored beak, orange-yellow irises, and pinkish-grey legs. The male and female are identical.

This species is classified as Vulnerable as it is experiencing a rapid population decline owing to habitat loss and capture for the cage bird trade. On the CITES APPENDIX 1 trade is now illegal, but in Country trade has not been enforced. These rather plain individuals were not of primary concern to breeders when imports were allowed owing to their low ability to learn human speech. Therefore there is a limited gene pool of breeding lines available worldwide.

Lupe'; bold, protective and gentle. An awesome and devoted pet. Limited in speech he made it up in love, entertaining antics and personality. If protective measures are not put into place in their wild habitat, these gems of the Amazon family will disappear.

Fly free little frother, we all miss you, but we will see you again!

Please give the mom's our congratulation! We are so very happy for them. It is a big deal! It took way too long for our country to finally get smart and get to this point! We really are very happy for them! I hope they had cake! You know you gotta have the cake! Hope they enjoyed the dinner. I finished watching Rio 2 and it was pretty good. I really like the first one better but this one had Blu's kids in it so they were fun to watch!!
So Ms. Peabody wants to start a family??? I don't know how your mom can stand all those little birds laying all those little eggs! Mom would be freaking out! I keep telling her that they have been doing this for eons and are surviving so she should just chill out! It's because she lost a bird to egg binding and she is afraid!
I hope you all have a wonderful day!! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

Beat wishes to the moms! That's terrific news! Peabody's news is not that terrific, though, hope she gets out of the hormonal stage soon. Have the moms thought about dummy eggs to replace the real ones? Just asking...
Mom had a lazy day today, got her mani/pedi this morning, then hung out at the pool this afternoon. Tonight she is going to the shop where Lena works to get a haircut so she can have it done before Lena goes on vacation.
Hope you are having a great day today! Hugs, Falco

CONGRATS to the moms! I thought the Hawaiian theme was the wedding. So, it's 07/15/14 is correct. A toast is made in your names!!!!!
No, those wouldn't have been MI cherries. They just started picking them last weekend.
I think that lovies will be happy with any paper. Try one of those foraging toys that you pull strips of paper out of it. Put it on the outside of the cage. HA! So, Peabody is a girl ... someone messed up!
Don't forget to use that kilz before re-painting the ceiling. Glad the roof is finally fixed. I think you would still be waiting for that first guy!
I'll start checking on the site for parrot palooza, thanks for the heads up.
Oh yes, dad gave up but mom went for the third try and saw the polo match. She loved it, especially when the ball came right up to her and all the horses stopped short of her within 8 feet!
It rained hard all day with a high of 56 degrees. Squawk, squawk, quack, squawk ...ooops! I think my feet are getting webbed!!!! I thought I saw an ark go by. I hope every one is having a nice week.
Hugs

I hope you are having a great day! It's been crazy around here today!!
Dad came in this morning so mom had to pick him up when she got off of work. She brought home Rio II and I was very excited and anxious to watch it! Well, last night there was a note on the door that said they would be washing our balcony and roof today!! Not even 12 hour notice! Mom was on her way to work so she had to come home this morning and move the stuff off the balcony. They are out there right not and there is water splashing everywhere! I am fine with the washing but I did not like it when mom brought the patio chairs in! I really growled at them!
Dad is watching West Wing so I still have not watched Rio II! I am pretty upset because I really want to watch it but mom says we will be able to watch it soon! She got free popcorn and graham crackers with the movie!!YAY
I hope you have the most wonderful day! Leaving a vote and a big hug just for you!

V4U today. Thank you for congratulating me for getting 10,000 votes. :) Sounds like your daylilies are doing great! We have one daylily, it is pink, white and maroon in color. Happy news for the mockingbird family. We see both the mom and dad mockingbird flying in and out of the nest all day long. The babies are getting big, they are fully feathered and about ready to leave the nest. There is a picture of the babies in their nest on my page. Wishing you a nice day. :) From, Mayo

  Hi Tooth
Puffy pancakes sound good, let us know if you try them.
If you didn't read it on the calendar page yesterday, I'll spread the news today. Mom didn't blog yesterday because her eye was scratchy all day long after the shot, and made it hard to focus. But, the news is terrific! The Macular Degeneration is halted, no new bleeding. She got the okay for the cataract surgery, so she has to make that appointment, and hopefully she will be able to see clearly again. She still has to go for shots, but her next one is scheduled for 2 months from now.
My leg is much better, but mom is still insisting on giving me the antibiotics as long as the doc prescribed, so I'm on meds until next Wed. It looks much better, though and I'm walking normally again.
Not much else is new here, hope you are having another perfect summer day! Hugs, Falco

  Oh Tooth . . .
Those hives are driving mom crazy - and the doc says they could last up to six weeks ! And all she can do is benadryl and cold packs ? Benadryl ? Really ? I do not want mom sleeping her summer away ! I have plans !

Wasn't supposed to be so overcast and rainlike till tomorrow, but thunderboomers rolled through during the night. Didn't cool it down at all though ! I'll be busy redecorating my cage today since mom cleaned it out yesterday . . . I tried to do some last night (I try to jam toys in the door so it won't close - har har har) but mom caught me :(

Our tomatoes have flowers ! That means there will be baby tomatoes soon :) I keep an eye on them from my spot at the window - make sure no critter messes with them !

We're glad mom D liked the card - I love when my mom gets feeling creative to make them - I get all her "mistakes" ! ! !

Have a great day - love "watchbird" Cookie

  Hi Tooth
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to MomD and many more, hope it was fun!
Sorry there isn't any Hersey plain chocolate to enjoy :(
I was thinking that the new roof guys would be better ...so where are they????? We have more rain coming this week. I hope it doesn't go your way!
You know what would be greyt for the lovebirds? One of those toy holders for calculator paper rolls. They LOVE to chew paper ... keep the books away from them!
Oh, you got to visit bird friends. I didn't know they would board them too. Next time you go there please ask the details about the palooza. They still have last years info up!
Today was a very nice warm and sunny day. My parronts decided to go to the polo match way up at the tip of the mitt! After they drove all that way no one else was in sight except the horses in the paddock! Because of the t-storms and rain all night, they called it off. Oh well, mom came home with a polo t-shirt and dad took her to Wilderness State Park (close by near Mackinaw City) and then out to dinner. I was happy to see them come home early.
Hugs

  Hi Tooth
That's great that she got the free nails! It's nicer to shop at a local store anyway. Hope the old guy is having the time of his life! Mom needs to slow down, not worry about the weeds. My mom has about given up on them, but she is clearing as many as she can without breaking a sweat, heehee.
I don't know if you know that I hurt my leg last week. Mom found blood all over my cage, in my food dishes and all over my toys. She thought I had thrown up, since it was in my food dishes, but on closer look, it was my leg that was injured. She still can't find a place where I could have hurt it.
Mom and her sister went shopping at Kohl's after the pool yesterday. Mom had $20 in Kohl's bucks, and she got a $5 Kohl's reward certificate, so they went to spend free money, which is always fun. Mom found another purse she liked, so picked it up. It was half off, then the $25 off, and an additional 15% from the cashier, so it ended up costing $9. What a deal, right? She loves finding bargains like that.
Meanwhile, I am done with the Metacam today, but still need the antibiotics for another 10 days, and the ointment until this leg heals. It's not as swollen as it was the other day, and last night mom noticed I am putting some weight on it, so hopefully it's healing. I am still giving mom a hard time when it's time for meds.
Meanwhile, it looks like another perfect pool day today, so we know where mom will be for a couple of hours. We will have her for the rest of the day once she gets home, though. That's always nice, isn't it? I hope you are having a great day today and getting sunshine and cuddles. Hugs, Falco

  Morning Tooth !
Good days here now that mom is on vacation ! Well, except for the fact that mom developed some sort of allergy - she thinks to blueberries - and now she has hives - big ugly itchy ones !

There's a farm stand down the street and the owner has a 'too. So he understands when mom comes in and buys only a dozen string beans or pea pods ! Everywhere else they look at mom like she's nuts buying only a few ! She probably is - but that's not the reason !

After a stormy mid-week, the weekend turned perfect - not in time for the 4th of course. The parronts usually head to West Point to hear the Army Band play and finish with 1812 Overture and fireworks - the concert went on, the fireworks went on - only without the parronts. It was still too wet to lay a blanket down on the ground ! So instead they watched Macy's fireworks on TV with me !

I've gotten quite spoiled with mom home all day - now I squawk at her if she leaves my sight ! I don't even like when she heads into another room without bringing me along !

Have a great Sunday Tooth ! love Cookie

So that fake roof guy left all his stuff and didn't come back to get it? What a joke! He shouldn't have tools then! I hope the real company comes soon before you get a lot of rain.
Do you think that Mom-T will bring back chocolate with her??????
Sorry she missed the big BBQ at your house. I bet you had the best time. So, Mom-D ate too much ... so did we ... hehehehe.
It was another greyt day on the patio with mid 70‘s and sunshine. I enjoyed watching the chips and the blue jays. The chips said something to me but I didn’t understand them. I did try to answer them but who knows what I said. This was the 5th night of big BOOMS! I hope they run out of those crackers soon. G’nite.

  Hi ya Tooth~
I hope you are all having a wonderful 4th of July! We had some dork across the street blowing off fireworks at 10am this morning! It's sunny out!!!HELLO!!! What fun are fireworks in the sunlight! Anyway about an hour into his sunlight show we smelled smoke and the fire department showed up! I feel so very sorry for firefighters on a day like today! They are going to be so very tired! I hope if he decides to do a nightime show he is more careful.
Fireworks are not allowed in my complex which I am very happy about. I like looking at them but I'm glad they are not allowed around here.
I hope you have just a wonderful night!!

V4U today. Nothing new here, just busy as usual. We've been having both rainy and sunny days. The heat and humidity have been something else. The baby mockingbird eggs hatched and the baby mockingbirds are about 4 days old now. The mockingbird mom built the nest so that twigs covered the front part of the nest. We sure hope that none of the predator birds get to that nest like they did the robins nest. So far so good. We wish you a very nice 4th of July weekend. From, Mayo

  Hi Tooth
long time no talk. hope all is well with you. we just sent your mom a email on the following information as it is extremely important to us

Did you know that it’s not against the law to slaughter dogs and cats for human consumption in Pennsylvania? While instances of this happening are rare, we know you’ll agree that there needs to be a law on the books to prosecute anyone who kills dogs and cats for food.

Thankfully, a bill to do just that is making its way through the General Assembly. H.B. 1750 was passed by the House unanimously in November, and then it went to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which made the bill even better for animals by adding language to ban live pigeon shoots—barbaric, unsporting events where dazed pigeons are launched from boxes to be shot as target practice or for prizes.then small children are sent out to retrieve the still living but injured pigeon and instructed to pull their heads off. The Senate is expected to vote on this amended bill in the next few days, and then it will go back to the House to approve the newly added pigeon shoot ban.

We’ve been fighting for years to ban pigeon shoots, and we now have a golden opportunity to get it done, but we must act immediately. Please help us put a stop to both of these forms of cruelty by urging your state senator and representative to vote YES on H.B. 1750.

Please visit the ASPCA Advocacy Center to quickly contact your state senator and representative in Harrisburg.

Thank you, Pennsylvania, for speaking up against horrific animal cruelty.

  Hi ya Tooth~
I hope you had a great day! I had a pretty good day. Mom has a sinus infection so we just spent a quiet day together.
I have 3 new cousins! Mom's sister took in 3 budgies from a family who moved to Ohio. They had a nice flight cage but no toys and the family just left them in a back room and didn't pay any attention to them! They didn't even have any names! Mom suggested that her sister name them Prue, Piper and Paige after the 3 sister in Charmed. They are 3 little ladies who are 3 years old! Mom told her sister not to look at them directly in the eye and to give them some time to get use to her. She has already bought them all kinds of toys and perches! I think they will be very happy there!
So Mom D is grossed out by Criminal Minds? Mandy Patinkin left the show because it got way too depressing to continue doing this everyday. Mom can understand that. She loves the ones with him in it! Gideon was the most interesting of all the characters!
Have a great night! I hope it's just perfect!

  Hi Tooth
I hope mom finds the nails she needs in the quantity she needs. It might not be a good idea to use ones that are too short, although you'd think a quarter inch isn't that bad. My mom likes patronizing the smaller stores for her stuff, as they usually have boxes of nails and you can buy a few, not in quantity.
Making a day is good, mom doesn't want to put you out, though. If she can't see Nghi, it's okay.
Williamsbird is a neat place, but I bet Mom T isn't in the historic section, is she? Mom has been there a few times, though, and likes it.
We had rain off and on all day yesterday. Mom did get the laundry done, though, and got some shopping in as well. She bought cherries, hoping we would all like them. I don't, of course, although I have been eating corn on the cob lately, with my broccoli, apples, and grapes. The boys and Maxine like anything mom gives them, they never think she is trying to poison them with something new. Willie has been having a ball with sliced watermelon, and now Maxine is getting in on the fun. They both enjoy munching it right down to the rind and eating all those baby seeds in there.
Today the sun is trying to come out, and if it does, mom will be at the pool. She does look forward to that in the summertime. Her friend Gene is here from Germany, too, and will be in and out of Pittsburgh until August, so she's looking forward to spending some time with him as well. I hope you are having a great summer day with sun, warm breezes, and lots of love. Hugs, Falco

  Hey Tooth !
you would think that being on vacation would mean mom stays home ? Not yet ! Yesterday while the car was being serviced, she took g'pa's car and went shopping for new sneakers ! I'm hoping for better today since the forecast is for pretty sticky weather with rain on and off . . . besides she's still got to write her thank-you's to the kids . . . of course that does mean a trip to the post office :(

How long is mom T in Williamsburg for ? And how old are the nephews ? The parronts love that place ! And you're helping at home in the meantime right ? har har har !

The BC is always acting up and getting stranger all the time ... LOL!
Oh yes, mom & aunt Arlene are staying 4 nights ... you are stuck with them ... hehehe.
Any good news on the chimney yet? Glad your patio is ready to go.
I think that Mom-T has wheels on her feet. She is always on the go. She better stay home when we are there!
Have you tried Loews? I think that my dad buys nails and things by the amount he wants ... at least some stuff you just put in a bag what you want.
Today was dark and mid 60’s … brrr. Tomorrow we should see some sun and mid 70’s. I hope everyone is having nicer weather. The youngest eaglet (Pitts PA) is spending his first night up on a branch. They grow up too fast. So sad the see the empty nest, I will miss them. If anyone is a pro on the new Birdyville site, please contact me. Have a good night.

  Hello Tooth~
I hope you are having a great day! I'm having fun so far!
I intended to get around to say hello yesterday but dad put a new wireless mouse on the computer and somehow my Computer Wizard of a mom keeps shutting down the computer! She thinks she has it figured out now! I certainly hope so since my social life is very important to me!!
Really not much going on but I do like to get by often and say hello and see how things are going with you! How are things with you??? I'm just hanging out watching a Criminal Minds DVD with mom and Jennifer. This is the last disc for season 8 and season 9 in not out yet! It's a gruesome show but for some reason mom and Jennifer find it fascinating!
I do hope your day is just perfect! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

  Hi Tooth
Sounds like at least one of the new roofers should work out. Mom is hoping to see Nghi when they come to see you. Maybe all of the folks could go out to dinner or something. Your moms sure sound busy! Mine is like a big lazy lump.
Yesterday was a wash as far as the pool, it was cloudy and kind of cool all day long. At least the swim meet is over, though. Mom spent her time doing errands, she bought new noodles for the pool since hers and her sister's are old. She also bought a new quilt for the summer. She has one that she and her sister made, but it's heavier than what she wants for the summer. She decided to get a new purse, too. She had a 30%coupon, so it seemed like the right time to do it.
Today is a better pool day, so she'll be off and running shortly. After the pool she and her family will go to Lena's new place. Mom has been there, but her daughter hasn't seen it yet. Hope you have a fantastic sunny day. Hugs, Falco

That must've been quite entertaining - watching the moms give chase ! ! ! Too bad you didn't have a camera ! har har har . . .

Even though the parronts went to a graduation party yesterday, they came home early to play with me ! Today looks to be just as nice only they're not going anywhere ! That's one of the nice things about summer . . . the chores can be done whenever - they don't have to be crunched into the weekend ! Although there probably will be a grocery run for a few things later - and maybe some laundry, but that only takes mom downstairs, not out of the house !

I hope you enjoy your day too ! love Cookie
