Well mom calls it too much of a good thing so apparently it was too much of the nuts and built up in my system so quit the nuts and back to basics again..that is about all you can do. Mom monitors me very very very carefully. Last night after dinner mom tried to get on the computer and pretty soon a thunder storm came up and that was the end of our computer time for the night. We couldn’t do our blogs last night. Since there is a chance for storms again tonight we are trying to get an early start and do them all tonight before the storm starts. Mom said she wanted to show me something out the window today but I was a bit leery of that but finally went with her. Here was a male and female duck in our back yard. Two come to visit every summer though after awhile just the male comes. Guess the female is sitting on eggs because a few times in past summers they have shown up with the babies in tow. Dad feeds them all summer and mom told dad the ducks were here looking for him later. We love crepes. They're really, really yummy. When mom makes 'em dad and skinsis will grab 'em as fast as they come off the pan. Not sure if furball got any or not, but she'll eat anything, lol. Crepes cook fast too.
We had a very windy night and then day on Sun/Mon. Garbage cans were tipped over and there was leaves and dirt everywhere. Nothing damaged near us, but trees fell on things in other areas and places lost power. We had about 50 MPW wind, but SF had around 75, yikes!
That's great that your mom was able to get a video, however brief, of Chicklet working on the mastermind toy. Does she get thru the almond shell as fast?

Morning Cleo
We have just today left of nice warm spring-like weather - tonight the rain comes in and the temps drop back into the 50's ! Last night mom went out for a walk it was so nice - only she didn't walk cause half the town was at the park it was so nice. Instead she visited !
I'll put the pictures of my new cage up once it gets here - it took a lot of shopping cause mom is pretty picky . . . as am I !

Sounds like there is snow coming across the western states so we might see some of it later this week yet. Today was 77 and tomorrow is suppose to be warm too. Mom felt bad cause I am still toe tapping some and havent had any nuts for a while. She made me and Chi chi a popcorn on the cob and I sure did eat mine all up fast. Chi chi still had some left in her bowl when mom cleaned our cages out in the evening and gave us new food. Guess the wild birds will get it then. There was nothing left in mine I tell you that!! Hmmmm, mom doesn't have much hard drive space so probably won't be downloading firefox, but does sound like it works well. BC is still stretched out, but haven't seen it look squiggly and we haven't been squawked like some have. Since BC was sold awhile back it was hoped they might update their servers, but guess not. Errr, not savvy puter mom here, she's not sure what browser, but probably some version of IE.
Crepes are so easy. Here's mom's favorite recipe: sift 3/4 cup flour with 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 tsp salt. Beat 3 eggs with 1 cup of low fat milk. Blend liquid with dry until smooth. Use mixer or blender or hand beater. Mom heats a small cast iron skillet (6") that's lightly oiled and about 2 tablespoons batter for each crepe. Makes about 16. She likes this recipe as you can use it immediately. Other batters need to be refrigerated first. We love it as is. The parronts will add fruit or mom'll fill it with chicken and veggies and bake for dinner.
Plenty of sun here, but very windy.

Guess what ? Spring is here for real now ! Our forsythia are in bloom and it made mom so happy that she opened the windows so I could yell at the neighborhood kids getting off the school bus yesterday ! I do love to do that !

This morning mom had me do the hurry up in the waste basket and I got my treat. Then she sits me up by the window while she fixes my breakfast on a stand. Well I got to nebbing and there is a little clock up there that mom watches the time with that runs by batteries. I hit it and knocked it into the dish water mom had just put in the sink. Mom almost got the clock in time but fished it out. It ran a while then quit. She took the battery out and dried it good but it wouldn’t go so she set it aside. Just when mom thought she was going to have to buy another one she put another battery in it and it started up. Woosh I was in trouble for a while!! I just got home from my torture session ! I don't understand why mom took me to the groomer - you mean she doesn't like it when I fly after her anywhere in the house ? Now I'm just relaxing in my cage trying to look as pathetic as I can. It usually brings me a few extra treats or scritches !

Okay, now we gotta try those popcorn cobs. Mom's got an air popper and we get that sometimes. We have had corn on the cob as well. We get a piece cut in half (not easy to do) and mom'll clip it above our food dish. Many of our veggies get clipped there. Sometimes we squirt each other eating the yummy corn.
Nothing interesting for Easter. We did get some millet and we'd also had waffles the two days prior. That was unexpected and totally yum. Did we tell you we got crepes recently too? Skinsis wanted it for dinner one night so mom made a batch, oh, do we go gaga over crepes. It's mostly egg you know, well, the recipe mom uses at any rate.
Sunny here and more rain forecast for tomorrow. Temps are nice, not humid, don't like humid.
BC is all stretched out and funny looking. Don't like it. Are they thinking everybirdie has wide screen monitors or something? Is there such a thing? Is there a way to adjust it? Sure hope they go back to the old way. Still slow in the mornings though. Mom has trouble with the email at times and it won't load or is slow so mom just has to try later, usually on another day.

Mom gets those popcorn cobs for us too and we love em as well. Last night mom kept trying to do our blogs and votes on BC but the site was so slow. Mom was about to give up a few times and finally got them finished. None of the grands got a kite this year for Easter but again mom says the weather hasn’t been good kite flying anyway. Mom used to always buy her skin kids a kite for Easter each year and then they would go fly it and put it in a tree somewhere LOL. Glad to hear that your weather was good for Easter. Ours wasn't rainy though it was forecast. It waited until night time to rain and even then it wasn't that much.
We've never tried those corn on the cob pop it in the microwave thingys. Mom's seen 'em and wondered if it'd been good. So, it was good?? We do love popcorn.
In the mornings when mom sends out most of our blogs BC is often really, really slow. Last night she went to check the Calendar page for any messages and it couldn't find the page. Couldn't get back to our page either, so that was definitely not working correctly. Tia (who just finished a stint in the KB) reported that she'd actually been squawked, yikes!

Hope you guys all had a great Easter ! I did ! Friday I helped mom make bread - I was so good, I not only got a raisin, but she gave me the whole empty box ! Yesterday, I got a plastic egg - I rolled it around the table and off the table all day :)

Dad said today was like a cold November day. It was cloudy a a few flurries even flew around. Well all the kids are done with school till after Easter now. Once they go back there will be about nine more weeks of school and it should be out again for the summer. Two of the grands will be going to middle school in the fall. Didn't quite rain yesterday, perhaps today. Hopefully some parts of CA will get some even if we don't. Sure hope you aren't getting more snow today, yikes! Glad you got the day of sunshine and warmer temps.
Yes, having the bit of paper over the food dish is easy foraging for one to do. Sometimes we have fun chewing on the paper anyway then get to the yummy food.
All birdies must be aware of Sky and Little Angel's troubles and not sure what time zone they're in. Hopefully some news will be posted on the calendar page and we'll check that in the afternoon. So worried about them.
Hope Dixie is feeling better and that you get some warmer temps so all of you can get outside and get a sunbath and see and watch the outside birds.

We had some flurries today and even some sleet too. Well mom had all her scrap making stuff put away again for about the third time. Then today she decided she would make her sisters husband a card so all the stuff came back out again and mom got that card done. Guess she is planning on doing something else or else she is finally letting it set out to make sure she is done. Well, if Sunny is persistent in wanting scritches then he deserves to get a few more, heehee. Moms train quite easily on that.
That's interesting that Poppy likes to do her tricks on Joey's birdhouse? Is she showing off for him? Hmmmm, bowling on top might take a bit of thought to accomplish.
We didn't realize that Chicklet's foraging toy was bolted. Would make it tougher to sneak filling it while Chicklet was out and darn if she isn't always listening for those almonds. Well, could try covering the almond and then sticking it in the toy? That might give Chicklet a lil pause not being able to see the almond.
Forecast for some rain here. It's colder out and getting overcast, but not supposed to rain until tomorrow or the next day, we'll see. Glad you got some spring and hope your snow is over with.

Hooray - we got just a dusting - the snow all stayed south of us ! Plus mom saw robins - she came home as excited as a kid at Christmas !

Yes mom loves that bakery but glad its further away or she would be in big trouble with the sweets LOL. We didn’t have a typist at the milonga but we had a great time and I spent a lot of time dancing with my girlfriend, Suzi. The parronts went to some function for the trail so they didn’t get home till late and I was soon ready for bed as soon as I got my good night kiss from mom. Sometimes one of us will fly over somewhere by himself. The other will be on top of our birdhouse watching. If the first one seems to have found something beak worthy then the second one will go over. We also follow each other on the floor. If we're too quiet or mom hears suspicious noises then she'll investigate. Mostly she knows where we are at all times, heehee.
We always put our heads down at the same time for scritching. Mom has just mastered the art of alternating between us, but with 3 of you asking probably takes a lil more juggling to get you guys equal time. Did Poppy ever master that basketball hoop? Or was it bowling? Can't recall now, but some new trick a lonnnnng while back.
Today was a lil busy at mom's work, but the only call out was the assembler so that didn't affect mom. Still, she had lots to do as Sun is ad day and since Easter is very busy the ad is multipage long. Usually when we tell shoppers that we're shorthanded they don't mind the wait, they just want to know that they'll be helped and not ignored.
Hmmmm, perhaps your mom needs to prefill a couple of Chicklet's foraging toys wayyyy before it's given and then could try the coverup? Would give Chicklet another layer of foraging fun, or does she enjoy chewing paper like us 'tiels?
The milonga was a lot of fun. So much green stuff. Go and check out who won the awards.

Yes it seems like winter has been long this year. Oh for you that asked what the Oakmonter is named for a town that has this bakery that has all these delicious bakery products in it. It has chocolate cake, cheese cake, a fudge filling and in layers and then covered with a delicious chocolate type icing. It is moms favorite desserts at the Oakmont Bakery and when mom visits with Willies mom, moms car can’t go past the bakery with out turning in LOL. Our 1st day of spring was so-so here since it'd rained the night before, however, to day is a most wonderful sunny, springlike day with a cool breeze and pleasant temps. Naturally there is more rain coming, but the prediction is that it won't hit our area.
The worst part of not having enough workers is when someone needs lunch/break. That usually is when a bunch of people want to checkout or one person has a problem that slows everything down. Still, most people understand when you tell 'em you're shorthanded, they just want to be acknowledged and know they will be helped soon.
Does your mom ever cover the foraging toy with a piece of paper or cardboard for Chicklet to have to remove prior to solving the toy? We expect that would only slow her a tiny bit, heehee. Must be so rewarding to see her get those almonds out so fast. Glad she enjoyed her special day and know you and the flock loved all the extra goodies as well.
Yes, mom does find it takes time to scritch each of us alternately, but would be a lil harder to have to juggle 4! We suspect that some of you must wait your turns? Still, it must be good just having all the flock nearby and together. Having to keep track of 4 of you when you're all out must be a full time job, heehee. (We know that Chicklet is out separately, right?)

- the weather, not mom ! Well, her too, but do you know what ? We woke up to 6-7 more inches of snow - tomorrow is supposed to be spring ! ! At least she has a 2 hour delay for work today so we have a little more play time while dad is out cleaning off and digging out cars !

Okay, mom thought Sun was bad, but yesterday someone else called in and another scheduled person had to be at a different store, yikes! So they were two people short. After calling around someone finally agreed to come in, so that helped. It is a bit challenging to ring up people, answer the phone, check the puter, etc, but just have to multi task as best as one can.
Cooling here and hopefully we'll get a lil bit of rain. One more day till spring.
That Chicklet is so clever. Seems like she'll solve those puzzles in no time, but those almonds are a great incentive. Can't recall, are they still in the shell? We know your entire flock is looking forward to helping her celebrate her special day.
Mom loves to see us dancing on the side of our birdhouse. She can always tell that's when we're super excited. Sometimes we'll both sit on the perch by the door and she'll know that we want to come out. Sometimes just sitting and getting scritches is the best.
Glad you and the flock got to vote, but you do get to vote everyday until the cutoff date, think that's the 20th?? So a couple more days. Can't wait to see what kinda categories Kiddo and Taz come up with, always something fun. We had to vote for Poppy's pic and sure wish we could vote for everybirdie.

Last night I went in the bathroom while mom took her bath and sat on my perch. I was chewing up the toilet paper and mom had to keep me from doing that and then I flew onto her back and she caught me before I landed in the tub but I got a little wet from her hands catching me. Sun is one of mom's regular days to work and darn it if someone didn't call in sick and leave 'em short handed. It was busy too. Many are taking advantage of all the Easter sales. The store will be staying open an hour later up to Easter so plenty of shopping time for people and many will wait until the last day.
Yesterday was quite springlike here too, sunny and warm. The screen was open for lots of fresh air. Furball was outside quite a bit. Glad you got some sun and spring too.
The first day of voting the pics weren't loaded in the gallery so hope you put out votes for all the days and that each flock member voted too. All the pics are so adorable and cute we want to vote for all, but since there's only two of us will only be able to vote for about a third of 'em.
Sometimes we don't want to come out right away and then mom'll leave the door open. Pearl invariably comes out first and sometimes just sits on the seed catcher and others will climb to the top immediately. When mom comes home we call her and are often clinging to the side closest to her and waiting to be let out. So wonderful to have mom home again, especially if we haven't seen her all day.

Send some of that good weather our way!! Last night mom thought it was bed time for me and convinced me to get on my bed time perch and covered me up for the night. Pretty soon I started talking and kept it up so mom knew I wasn’t ready for bed yet so she got me out and I sat with mom a while longer. We discussed a few things and I watched mom type my blogs and some of Chi chis and then pretty soon mom put me back on my condo. Hi Cleo
We had rain here off and on all day but it was like a mist and no heavy downpour or anything like that. Yes moms eye sure feels so much better now...guess she didnt realize it was hurting so bad since it came on gradual. Today was the one grands birthday party and she invited lots of kids to it so mom and dad went to it for a little while. It was held in the YMCA so the kids had lots of space and the grands dad played lots of games with the kids so they had lots of fun too. Think skin sis didn’t think the grand would grow up this fast and was feeling a little sad but that is how it goes. Dad used to chat with the guy who claimed to be a fed and a Navy Seal!! Hah! When the officer showed mom the guys picture mom didn't even recognize the man cause she is oblivious to life!! lol She never really paid much attention to him. She would wave and go in her car or the house. The lady she knows and said the woman is a real air head! Sheeeesh! The cop took a pic with moms cell phone so she could text his pic to Dad so he could Identify him but dad didn't get the photo cause his phone was OFF (of all mornings) while he was in meetings! Mom called the cop and told him that there had been a truck in front of the house that suddenly had a cover over it for the last few weeks!! The cops thought that was his truck but wasn't sure until Mom called.. Well... They went in and got the guy but the truck turned out to be another neighbors car who was borrowing their parking spot!! heehe Ooops! Who knew!!! :)It all ended well any way! Moms just glad it went down peacefully cause she wasn't here when it happened and we share walls with these peeps!!!
Of course she was worried about us fids and Sheena dog!

Hi,Cleo,
Sometimes Silver will shiver when wet and then one of the parronts will hold him on their arm so his feet will warm up. Pearl just doesn't get that drenched. Mom tries to only shower us when it's warm outside or if in the winter when the heater is on and in morning so definitely dry way before birdie bedtime. Mom takes us into the shower to contain the spray just on the shower walls. She shuts the bathroom door too so no escaping. Pearl would probably try to fly off, but usually Silver likes to be spritzed and opens his wings. We rarely will get into the birdie bathtub.
We love to come out in the morning. Mostly we sit around or on top of our birdhouse. Sometimes we'll fly around. Depends on where furball is. Mom will take us to look out the window. Often we'll see the lil wrens/finches sitting in the elm tree (currently only branches, no leaves) and we'll see cars and kids sometimes too.
We sampled the shredder a lil bit, but not completely. Haven't finished the other toy we already have so won't get the new one until then.
Cooled off a tad here, still sunny though so that's good for mom's day off. No particular plans, probably needs to finish the laundry since her last day off was busy taking dad to a couple of appointments.
Went to the Milonga page yesterday, but the pics weren't loaded to vote yet, so perhaps it's there now. We're gonna fly over later.

Morning Cleo
Can you believe that we had SNOW flurries on and off all day yesterday ? IDK ! Tomorrow the parronts were going to go see the niece march in a parade (she's in a drum and bugle corps) but not if it's still cold ! Mom is tired of winter - and winter coats ! Hi Cleo
We are in for rain and snow flurries tomorrow and doesnt look too good till maybe after Tuesday but again that could change real quick too in this time of year. Today mom had a pretty rough day so she is pretty tuckered out tonight. She went to see the eye doctor and she sat in the waiting room a while till they finally called her. Then she went back in another room and the girl put drops in moms eyes that deadened the eye ball so the girl could take the pressure to see how the glaucoma was and it was the same as 6 months ago. Then she put the drops in that makes the pupils big and mom didn’t think she was going to have them this time but she sure was wrong. The doctor came in and asked about the blood shot eye and mom told him it happened when she woke up on Sunday morning and he wasn’t too concerned about it. He figures since mom isn’t on blood thinners then it might of happened cause she has low platelets. Then he checked her eye and said an eyelash was growing into the tear duct and didn’t it hurt. Mom said yes its hurted off and on and but thought it had to do with the bloodshot eye. He had to pull the eyelash out and that hurted. Then mom had to wait in another room and he did another test and wanted mom to come back next month for yet another test but mom talked him out of it till she goes back in 6 months again. Hi Cleo!!!
We had all kinds of excitement around here today!! It started this morn'n when mom left for work.
MOM was stopped by a police officer who questioned her about a next door neighbor. Longggggggggggggg story short, it turns out the guy that was living next door was a bank robber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup! You heard me right!!! The cops busted in on them this morning and took him into custody!!! What a scene the block was when mom came home from work!! Scary thing..you never know who your neighbors are!!! Have a fun weekend!!

Glad you and the flock got your pics entered in the milonga contest. We think there's gonna be a lot of great pics in the green to vote on.
We never step into the bird bath. The parronts rarely put it in. Mom just makes us shower occasionally whether we want one or not. Like the other day she took us into the shower and spritzed away. Neither of us moved. Just stood very stiffly on her hand and didn't open our wings or run/fly off. Soon as she put us back in our birdhouse we shook the excess off, but it was mostly beaded anyway, heehee. It was very warm out. Does Chicklet need the blow dry if the temps are warm?
Parronts do love to see us enjoying our treats and toys. Dad hung a food seed stick from our roof and we couldn't reach the top part. Mom finally moved it so we could get the rest of it. Lil awkward to hang on the side of the house and try to eat, heehee.
Sunny and warm again after an overcast start. Rain is forecast for next week and do need that. Hope you get some sun soon.
Oh, it is so funny when we do the yell in another bird's ear. Well, at least the yeller thinks so, heehee. Good that Joey was tolerant of your sneak attack, but perhaps because Poppy was there too.
