 My mom first met me when she started to volunteer at the Lily Sanctuary in 2009 (a parrot rescue she is currently still a volunteer at) and fell in love with me instantly. I was very scared of humans but I do love to have my head and neck rubbed. I am letting mom cuddle and kiss me too! I am an import from Chile, and little is known about me, however my previous owner abandoned me with no food and water and left me in a dark room to die when he moved. Not very nice! I was brought to the sanctuary where I let some of my feathers grow back (I pretty much plucked them all out when I was abandoned and think I may have damaged the feathers forever). So my new mom got to know me, fell in love with my nakedness, and had to add me to her family. I finally have a permanent family to love!
* Note from Clydes mom * Update* 12/01/10: Clyde has come such a long way. Initially he did not want to be handled. Now? He always wants to be where I am and steps up like an angel boy. He plays hide and seek, still loves to lick everything, he gives kisses and preens my face. He is talking ALL the time now, and eating his veggies like a pro. He is very happy and loving life.
He's also started a very interesting habit.
- Patagonians are CLIFF DWELLERS in their native homeland, Chile. What does that mean? They live in cliffs by burrowing.
So what has Clyde been up to? He licked the wall to death in one particular spot and started a hole about the size of his eyeball - and tried to squeeze in the hole! Silly goose. We're trying to figure out something for the inside of his cage so he can 'Dwell'. Any idea's are welcome!. |

Corn corn and more corn! I like a cheeze-it now and again too. Not healthy but I like them.
 On my perch and play stand, but I like to be around mom too. I like being on my cage door, hanging out and watching the other flock members. I like to think of myself now as the 'aviary' guardian. I also have this thing about moms shoulder. I want to be on it but I'm a little unbalanced so mom doesn't risk it. I'm also currently working on the cliffside behind my cage (mom calls it a WALL, but it's not. It's a cliff). I plan to burrow in there and invite guests for tea. :)
 Hands, people, movement, sticks of any kind
 She takes me in the shower so I can have my 'shower coma'. Ahhhh what joy! She has patience with me and lets me just be a parrot. She spoils me and preens my pin feathers. She blows angel kisses on my naked wing spot and makes me giggle. I love to preen her hair and face, and I am getting pretty good at giving kisses too.
 My call is almost like a turkeys. I do not sound like most parrots and sometimes chortle instead of sqawk! I also like to run. If I end up on the ground, I love to lead a merry chase!!! And I love the TV. I can sit on mom for HOURS and watch it. I would rather play hide-n-seek with mom though. And licking! I have this weird thing now where I love to lick hands, towels, toys, walls, anything (hence the nickname Mclickster.
 I love licking things!.

Well, by now I'm sure you've all seen the picture
that was placed on all three of our pages, of
course, without our consent. Grrrrrrrrr.
The picture is of our new HIM/HER, once we
find out for sure. I guess that in time a new
page will be added for the new kid. We were
told it's a ALL white Tiel, another mouth to feed,
and to share our toys with.
None of us three were even consulted to find out
if we wanted a new addition to the flock. We get
no respect.
But since Mom wants it, guess we'll make the little
pin-feather welcome when it get's here. ha ha ha.
Now we have to come up with a name, that will
fit well with the three of ours. Any ideas? We're
open to suggestions, with mom's approval.
I forgot to mention, it doesn't arrive here in Florida
until October....

Did I tell ya, Mom's daughter is living in Sydney, Australia and finished her intership there at a lawfirm who offered her a contract to stay & work? Well, she's far away but Mom is real proud of her! It's a bittersweet thing when they leave the nest and fly away. Especially when it's SO FAR away.
