 Cinny's story:
Mommy fell in love with birds and decided she wanted a cockatiel. She got me from a breeder at 6 weeks old. Now we're best friends! I, Cinny have been known as the survivor bird around here. That is because I am the toughest bird my town has ever seen! First, I got spooked and flew out the door and was out ALL night in 20 decrees weather and didn't even get a little cold. Second, I was attacked by a dog and almost eaten; my tail was gone, half my wing feathers, and I had bight marks on my head, rump, and wings. And then after over half a year, mommy FINALLY found out I was a boy! I am the most spectacular, amazing, hardy, pretty, bird mommy has ever seen! She loves me as much as I love her. "I LOVE CINNY!", She says to me a lot. I am now living life happily with my wife, Sugar.
Sugar's story:
Cinny was feeling lonely so mommy wanted to get him a friend. When she found me, she new that her prayers had been answered. She bought me from a breeder who breed cockatiels out in a little shack that she kept nice and warm for us. I was half the price as the other birds because no one wanted me. I was plucked from my mate and I was not the "prettiest" color she had. But to my mommy, I am beautiful.. |

Hi! My name is Cinny and Sugar
I am a Cockatiel from Kaysville, UT.
 Cinny:
Cinny is short for Cinnamon so I guess you could call Cinny one of my nicknames. My middle name is Melody because when my mommy first got me, I was very vocal. The reason my name probably sounds so feminine to you is because when I was adopted, the breeder said I was a girl. Any smart cockatiel owner knows the difference between a boy and girl. I was a baby back then so it was hard for mommy to tell, so she followed the breeders answer. By the time she found out I was a boy, I already knew my name so she didn't change it.
Sugar:
My original name was Skittles but when mommy got me, she wanted a name that fit with Cinnamon (Cinny). And what goes better with Cinnamon than Sugar? So that's how I got my name! Mommy likes to call me Sweetie, Fluffers, and most of all, Suga Bugga!

Cinny:
My favorite treats would have to be millet spray, flax seed, and carrot shreds. But most of all, I looooooooooove honey nut cheerios! Oh, and I forgot to add mommies library books to the list.
Sugar:
My favorite treats are millet spray and cheerios. At first I was too afraid to try cheerios but then Cinny showed me that it was easy and yummy!
 Cinny:
I like to hang out anywhere near mommy but Sugar HAS to be with me. 5 feet is the limit of how far she can venture from me.
Sugar:
My favorite hang out spots can include almost anywhere safe as long as Cinny is there with me. I hate being alone.
 Cinny:
My pet peeves are other male cockatiels. They always create competition for the girls...It's a lot easier when I'm the only handsome tiel around. Also toes sticking through bars in my cage. The birds outside my cage probably think it's "so funny" because of how mad I get until I chomp down on them.
Sugar:
My pet peeves are male cockatiels who pluck me. My first mate did that and the owner didn't know that he was hurting me so she didn't separate us. When I was adopted by my new mom, my back and neck were bare. I'm fully feathered now though! I also have this phobia of hands grabbing me in the night.
 Cinny:
She spoils me rotten. And nothing's better than her neck rubs! She also taught me some cool tricks like shake and wave and how to dance. And best of all, she gave me my sweet Sugar!
Sugar:
Mommy is very patient and sweet with me. She made me feel welcome when I first moved in and she loves me for who I am. :)
 Cinny:
I shriek nonstop when mommy or Sugar leave the room. I always have to be the center of attention yet I hate attention from half the people who give it to me. I also happen to be an artist. :)
Sugar:
I have night frights every once in a while which sets off the whole bird room on a rampage in the dark. Mommy now has to keep her closet light on all night or I'll hurt myself. I still get scared every once in a while though..

The boys favorite treats are broccoli, carrots and of course the food that all budgies crave - millet spray! Charlie loves food, hates Wilberforce!! Both boys are English budgies.. Charlie was adopted at the annual Oshkosh bird fair. There aren't any pictures of Wilberforce on the boy's page, but if he looks anything like Charlie, then he sure is a cutie!
