How my tiel and I got together was just a miracle. I had lost my first tiel in 98 and was hoping one would drop on my doorstep and in 2002 we were supposed to babysit him for his previous mommy and she passed away and her friend asked if we would keep him for our own. I was so happy! cause I needed a tiel to fill the hole my first tiel left. Of course my peach fronted conure arrived the day after he died but it was only a tiel that could fill up that hole. I love my conure because she makes me laugh and keeps me happy. I was even happier when Peepers came to fill that void, the void needed by another tiel. I became the owner when my mom asked me if I wanted to keep him and I was like heck ya, I love this tiel so much! I heard his previous mommy wanted to make sure he was in a loving home before she died and he sure is!.

Cinnamon Mutation Cockatiel

nutraberries,pa- sta,animal crackers,apple peels,

i like to hang out on the playpen with my 4 conure brothers/sister- s and my pesky lutino brother and on my mommys shoulder.

I dont like showers but mommy makes me go with her but hey at least im a clean boy!, when my brother Mario steals MY perch(Lutino Cockatiel),when i gotta be stuck in the cage when mommy goes to work cuz i like to hop onto the floor because she doesnt want me getting hurt,

I love my mommy cuz she takes real good care of me and gives me lots of loves, she says im a special boy cuz i eat with my foot like a parrot she takes me on car rides, walks on my neat neon yellow harness and leash which i hate but wearing that leash means going out so i gotta be a good boy for mommy and wear it,she likes to snuggle with me and i with her. for my birthday she makes me a special birdie cake topped with seeds cuz i only get pellets for my meals cuz she thinks pellets are alot more healthier for me than seeds and they taste good too! the fruity ones are my fave! im just soo happy she adopted me cuz im happy that i found her and made her soo happy again! me being left at her house was a miracle to her and to me too cuz i have 5 brothers/sister- s for company when mommy goes to work.

i like to eat with my foot like a parrot mommy thinks its soo COOL when i do that,I like to hold my foot up when i sing and she thinks thats soo CUTE!, mommy taught me to play dead, i just lay on my back in the palm of her hand real still she thinks thats soo Cute as well and hopping on the floor and going for a run catch me if u can cuz my little pink tiel legs can move!.

"where there is floor tiel will travel, watch your step cuz im goin for a run!".

  HI Peepers
Well, today we are heading to Jellystone Park from the KB. Be prepared with your swimsuit, floaties, rafts, and other things. We might just run into Yogi Bear and Booboo Bear, so if you have a picnic basket, hold onto it! The ranger may not be able to save it or you from a raid.
Today at home, it's a beautiful, hot, and sunny day again. Mom will be going to the pool, and afterwards, going to the hardware store to see if she can find one of those scrunchy hoses, since she's tired of the hose caddy that leaks at the faucet every time she hooks it up. She still has one of those old Toro flat hoses, but it's not long enough, so she's hoping to attach one of those pocket hoses to it.
Mom also got in touch with her nephew who will do some outdoor stuff for her in the next couple of weeks. She decided she's too old to pressure wash and waterproof the deck (read; she doesn't want to do it!). The split rail fence is having some issues, and the porch roof needs to be swept off. Again, this is something she really doesn't want to do. She's always been a bit afraid of climbing out the bedroom window to clean that roof.
So, today is swimming, hardware store, and maybe Panera for a dinner sandwich. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful summer day too, and getting some fresh air, cuddles, and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi Peepers
The energy efficient and brighter lights really do help with lower costs while still being able to see. The dimness was terrible but everyone suffered and got thru it together.

The wildlife tend to love dad. Must be cause they see him outside tending to the plants, watering and everything else. When he lived at his mom's house said a hummingbird landed in the hood of his sweatshirt and hung out with him for awhile.

Good that Dixie at least ate some of the fruit. Can't have him going without eating something each day. Can't imagine him liking the nare flushes but know it is important.

Cooler for us and a nicer breeze too. All the bad air is gone and more pleasant to be outside. Think heat will return for the w/e.

What an awesome price for the bottled water. Good to always have a bit on hand just in case.

Hopefully the new hearing aids work better and easier for Nana to put in and adjust. Too bad forgot to bring the old pair but maybe give another opportunity for any questions when return 'em.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time swaying and humming happily the entire time.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  HI Peepers
The kissing booth field trip at Yellowstone should wrap up today, so stop by and see what other adventures we have in store. Yogi Bear and Jellystone park, anyone? Tomorrow?
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday and the day before were oppressively humid and hot, and today it's not even 70 and cloudy. The guys said 74 and partly sunny today, so it's warming slowly. It's not raining though and we could use some again.
Last night mom and her sister went to Red Lobster for dinner. Neither of them could finish the meal, and neither of them would take shrimp home. It's never the same warmed over, is it? The funny thing was they were looking at a berry dessert and talking about splitting it before they ordered. Of course, not being members of the clean plate club, not to mention stuffed, they didn't get the dessert.
It's not going to be a very interesting day today, but that's fine with us. It means when mom gets home from the pool, she'll be ours for the rest of the day, and by then, we'll have rearranged our cages to our liking as well.
I hope you are having a great summer day, and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Yikes! More BC slowness and cycling? Guess at least during the day have more time to wait and do something else in between waiting for something to happen. No further issues for us during our morning blogging.

Nice that majority of stores have websites and can just look up what time they open. Some stores open at 8 so can go there first.

A few years back during the energy crisis all stores reduced their lighting to save energy. Got used to it being a tad more dim but now with better light bulbs that are brighter while using less energy no need to suffer.

The hummingbirds often circle dad's head when he's in the yard as they know he's the one that cleans and fills their feeder. Mom mostly sees 'em from out the window.

We like a lot of different veggies but carrot was never one of 'em. Good that Dixie will eat most anything as when he isn't eating can keep trying to see what might tempt his appetite. Guess having the blocked nares means he can't smell as well and takes the fun outta eating.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up wide for big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time humming and swaying together happily.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
well we couldn't blog last night because we had no internet. yesterday mom spent lots of time at the office store xeroxing documents, then she spent time at triple A having a notary stamp papers, then she went and bought more file folders then she went back to the office store and xeroxed some more and then went to the post office to mail poa letters to health insurance and mail order pharmaceutical company for g-ma. then a guy came this morning from the Pa dept ar agriculture and sprayed the hemlocks for red spider mite infestation which he said was kiling the hemlocks. mom was very upset because she doesn't like any kind of insecticide. this morning she went to ss and it only took about 5 minutes to change Gmas mail to our house and when SS lady asked for a verification document mom had all of them with her and had to go through everything to find what the lady wanted. when mom came home she spent the rest of the day weeding the along the side of the road and trimming it with a scissor. then some guys came and cut down all 5 of our rhododendrons that were about 25 feet tall. because the the dept of pa agriculture said they had a fungus called root rot which was killing everything so they will be treating the soil next week for that. tomorrow will be a nightmare because tall timber tree co is coming to cut down 3 trees. the 50' oak will take them about 5 hours to bring down and the other 2 not too much time. mom and dad had the place looking absolutely perfect today and mom said for what. tomorrow it will look like a total disaster. mom has some babies in one bird house and figures she will just stand somewhere safe holding the bird house so the mom will come and feed the babies. hopefully the men will dig up a few of the shrubs before they bgin so they won't get damage. the tree is only about 15 feet from the house and there could potentially be damage to the house as well. anyway might not be online since a branch might cut off our power.

Getting outside for awhile sure is good! Mom's sister stayed home and washed curtains yesterday because she believed the weather guessers. It was a wonderful sunny day at the pool that she missed.
If you're going to the Kissing Booth today, make sure you have your camping equipment, we're off to Yellowstone Park for an overnight trip. We're hoping to see all kinds of wildlife, and of course, the geysers. We're packed and ready for whatever adventure Falco has in mind.
Mom is doing laundry today, but with this weather it's also a pool day. She got 6 books yesterday at the pool from various friends. She went with 2, hoping to return home with one, and ended up with a bag full. At least none of the ladies has to buy each book! They all trade them back and forth all summer long.
We are in for a cage cleaning later today, too. Mom cleans every day, but once or twice a week, she scrubs everything too, and that's what we're in for today. I hope you are having a great summer day, getting lots of sunshine, cuddles, and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
So wonderful that BC was working properly without the slowness, cycling and timed out pages. Hopefully will work better for the Milonga even though we'll be mostly silent.

Continues on the warm side here but at least our area hasn't reached the triple digits. Areas north and east of us, the more inland places might get those later today. The parronts will be running a few errands later as some stores don't open until 9 or 10.

Yes, more lighting is good and even the restroom got more as mom didn't realize that an entire section of lights were out

Another hummingbird sighting yesterday. Rather, mom saw the tailtip while it was perched on the back side. Still, it is nice to know they are around. Dad had cleaned and refilled it earlier yesterday so that was good.

Glad Dixie decided to eat. Know always a worry when fids aren't eating since we are so small. While we don't care for carrots know many birds enjoy it.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight humming and swaying happily together.

  HI Peepers
This morning when mom walked the dogs it was trying to rain, so she figured it would rain a lot while she was at the center. No such luck, though! It cleared up, so she had to water plants when she got back.
Meanwhile at the center this morning, she was cleaning and feeding in the avian nursery. It was hot in there, for sure. Those woodpeckers were really active, and one escaped, but mom caught it and put it back. There are several kestrels in there now, too. They are so cute. There is also a screech owl who will be going to the zoo as an education ambassador later in the week. He is missing an eye, so can't be released, and we already have a screechie on our permit, so we found a new home for him. When mom left the center, she carried animals with her. She released a mallard at the river. It was the longest release she ever did! The steps leading to the river's edge were blocked off, so mom opened the carrier at the top of the bluff, hoping she would go down right away to the water. Instead, she hung out, eating greens, and looking for bugs! It took about 20 minutes for her to leave and go down to the river. Mom had to stay and make sure she was headed in the right direction, and not back onto the road. Meanwhile, the possums in her car were parked in the shade with the windows down. So mom released the 4 possums in our yard, and they were much easier. They left right away. Mom always wishes them a long happy life. Now she has to remember to return the carriers the animals were in. They are at the bottom of the driveway, so hopefully she'll remember to return them.
The pool was a welcome sight today, since it's so hot and humid here. After the great release, mom couldn't wait to dip her head underwater. It was a good afternoon, and now that she's home, she's all ours for the rest of the day. We love that!
Come on by the kissing booth, Falco is there for the next 2 weeks. She's planning on some fun. Uncle Frank is looking for more volunteers to be there, so if you can help out, let him know!
I hope you are having a wonderful summer day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Stay cool if you can! Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
That is a great idea to check out the resources of the senior center. Any help they might give would be another option in getting eggstra care or even just more socializing as imagine many seniors live in an area without any nearby family.

As a kid whenever mom and family would visit gma (her dad's mom) gma would have mom thread several needles for her. She's then have 'em ready if needed for any sewing tasks. Mom recalls that they all were very tiny and had holes barely large enough for the thread. Know there are also self treading needles but not sure how well they work.

BC is working well this morning as it loaded immediately and able to log in without a hitch. Milonga night was slow and initially we got the error page and such. Hopefully next Sat will be okay although we will arrive early and be silent due to prior family obligation.

The BBQ feast sounds awesome as always. Good to have that eggstra meat for quicker meals later in the week. Continues to be very warm around here but humidity remains low so tolerable. The a/c at mom's work is okay now as not so hot inside as it was earlier in the year. The store recently got burned out light bulbs replaced so looks brighter. Know those who work in the warehouse area are glad of that as guess some areas lighting was dim.

How awesome to see some goldfinches at the feeders. Maybe now found the feeders will return more. Mom saw a hummingbird at our feeder yesterday. Was sitting on a side perch (as opposed to hovering) so she got a fairly good look at it without moving and scaring it off.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight savoring their friendship and love humming and swaying happily the entire time.

  Hi Peepers
mom says this POA for G-mais really complicated. G-pa's son who is his POA apparently changed all G-ma's mail to his address yet he was not POA of G-ma. since mom is legally G-mas POA all these companies want proof that she is POA just so they will forward G-mas bills to mom yet they don't send any forms to tell you want they need as proof. mom now has forms coming out of the wazoo. she has now spent 3 days just talking with G-mas medication pharmacy on how to pay the bills and legally let them know she is POA. she will now make double copies of everything and send one set to the pharmacy and one set to g-mas health insurance and hope that is enough. Gpas son just opened an account for Gma with SS and told mom she can use that to change G-mas address but according to SS that is illegal so mom will then take all the forms she has with her to SS to change g-mas mailing address to her own and hope she doesn't get G-pas son in trouble for doing it the way he did. mom is not going to take any chances and do anything wrong. dad told mom she should start charging g-ma for being POA and for all this work.

last night after being disappointed that the milonga was cancelled we didn't stick around and didn't realize that it was still going on or we would have stayed. mom stayed up to 3:30am watching a foreign german film called labyrinth of lies about a young german attorney prosecutor who brought to trial 18 former SS nazi officers at Auschwitz. it was a true story and quite fascinating to watch. mom was exhausted when she went to bed and was almost asleep when she felt something walking on her leg. she reached down thinking it was a ant but felt nothing. a second later she felt it again but this time on her thigh and after reaching down she felt nothing. finally she pulled the sheet bak turned on the light and found a CENTIPEDE crawling on her leg. mom was too tired to be horrified or else she would have jumped out the window. she grabbed a pillow and bushed it off of her leg and it ran under the bed. mom is hoping Boo Boo the hunter will find it tonight when she is loose in the bedroom. Boo Boo misses nothing. I AM TERRIFIED OF ALL BUGS, EVEN ANTS AND SCREAM AND FLY IN TERROR FROM THEM UNLESS OF COURSE I AM OUTSIDE WITH MOM AND A BUG FLYS TO CLOSE TO MOMS FACE SO I BITE MOM IN THE FACE TO WARN HER OF THE DANGER.

  HI Peepers
We love it when mom is home, too! It's always a better day then.
What a fiasco with prom last night, I hope you saved some of your best steps for next week! Mom was able to sign on, but it was taking forever for blogs to show up, then she checked her email and found it was not only her, but lots of folks who were having problems. The Milonga team made a decision to call it a wash last night and reschedule it for next week, same time, same place.
Meanwhile, today it's a beautiful, sunny, hot day already. Mom has pool plans for sure. The dogs were panting so mom cut their walk a bit short this morning. She encourages them to walk on the asphalt most of the time, but today she was trying to get them to walk on yards where their feet could stay a bit cooler.
The plants will all get watered when mom gets back today, as she wants to do blogs now while BC is up and running. The day lilies are starting to bloom, so the yard is awash with color right now. The Asiatic and oriental lilies have buds, too. Cherry bells are in bloom, and of course, cosmos, zinnias, marigolds, lobelia, and a few dahlias, although not all of them have buds yet. There is a pepper on the pepper plant, flowers on the zucchini, and some of the tomatoes have flowers on them, too. It looks good out there!
I hope you are having a great summer day with lots of sunshine, cuddles, and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Have seen lil winged critters in veggies/fruit but never spiders. Think snake was found in something with branches by a worker in warehouse not in a store. A customer told mom someone had ordered something online and when opened the package found big bug! Alive! Yikes! Not sure if was toy or clothing but not food. Maybe need to open stuff outside with gloves on...

The docs who work with the elderly have it as their specialty. Like going to an eye doc or heart doc, etc but one who has trained to help seniors. Imagine could find one in our area since so many choices but with your smaller not surprising don't have one.

Our mom never learned to sew. She can do a hem but time consuming and rather not do it. Dad found some seaming tape stuff (no sew) and think he used that on his jeans he wanted a tad shorter. Skinsis says since she's so short she could almost buy capris and have 'em be the correct length to be pants!

Just not sure how costly a jack would be. Maybe research it online and check. Do wonder if it is something your dad or maybe skinbro might be able to tackle?

Too bad you, Kiddo, SP and others were unable to get to the Milonga yesterday. So good to reschedule it but we might not be able to go as the parronts have a family event to attend. Those who made it had fun with lots of food and dancing.

  HI Peepers
Nana is too funny, it doesn't pay to be too independent. If it is causing her pain, she should just use the cart in the store. My mom understands, though. As for the pants, if they are too long, maybe something from the junior department in petite would be better. If mom were there, she would hem them for Nana. Maybe capris would fit her like long pants?
I've learned to open my food door for mom when she is coming with breakfast or dinner. I push the door open, then stand and wait for her to deliver the food. I'm so clever! This morning instead of grabbing the almond sliver as usual, I grabbed the fresh raspberry, which really surprised mom.
Gene came to the pool for awhile yesterday, and when mom asked him if he was coming again today, he said maybe Wednesday. He truly didn't know what day it was! Of course, traveling and getting settled in again is difficult, but he's one of the smartest people mom knows, so she was surprised at his answer.
Today we are going to have mom for nearly all day, with only her pool time away from us. If we could go there, we would, too! Tonight is the milonga, though, so we have to stay here to practice our dance steps for the big night.
I hope you are having a good day today, with lots of sunny weather, cuddles, and scritches coming your way. See you at the milonga, I hope! Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
We'll check the email for the card but it'll be later today since mom is running late and trying to finish our blogs. Thanks so much as we know it'll be special.

Yuck to people finding spiders in the produce. Think heard of someone finding a snake recently too. Guess if work in the fruit/veggie business must be careful.

Know that there are doc specialists that focus on the elderly. Too bad there aren't more of 'em around.

Pants are always too long unless can find ones in the correct size that say they are short length. Sometimes even those are a tad long but mom just cuffs hers. Know could cut and sew 'em but mom just doesn't bother.

Sounds like Nana needs to have another phone jack installed so closer to where she needs it. Not sure how easy/difficult/costly that kinda thing would be to do though.

  HI Peepers
Maybe mom should consider getting a wheelchair for Nana if she is wanting to go so much. It will be hard on mom, though, pushing another person around. Did you get the books yet?
Thanks to Kaji's wonderful mom, we got that pic in a jpg format so mom put it on all our pages for a few days. Aunt DJ is a genius! The skull mom's holding is archaeopteryx, and she loves showing it, as it's the first known bird.
Today mom cleaned the recovery room, which has a variety of turtles, a snake, and some ducks. The hybrid domestic duck she checked in last week is in the center part of the building, but mom couldn't see if she was still on eggs or not. The ducks in the recovery room were all doing quite nicely, and the turtle with the nail polish is getting cleaner and cleaner, YAY! There is a little painted turtle in there too. When mom took its food out she laughed, because whoever fed them yesterday must have thought this turtle was a giant. There was more food in the cage than turtle. He's a pretty active little one, too, but not using a back leg, so mom is hoping for the best for him.
The snake is very cool! It's a water snake, so it's in an aquarium with a lid.
It was reasonably sunny, so mom went to the pool after the center. Her friend Gene is in from Germany, so he met her there and stayed to swim for an hour or so.
Now mom is ours for the rest of the evening! She will clean our cages, but it's fun time for the birdies now.
I hope you are having a great day today, getting lots of summery weather, cuddles and scritches all for you. Hugs, Willie

Thanks for the hatchday song. We had some yummy millet. The other day got some waffle and recently had ak mak. So good to spread the treats out and celebrate all week long.

The bug thing pertains to people with fruit trees in their yards. We're sure there is something professional growers do to enable 'em to be able to ship stuff from other areas and countries. Although in CA much of what we have is grown in our state.

Even if not necessarily the surgeons job to assist with the follow up that closely it should be done by the regular doc, physical therapist or some other that ensures one is healing correctly.

Yikes! Glad skinbro was able to get his car to the shop with those brakes that weren't working. Must've been a tad scary. Good he's making arrangements to get to work and such.

the storms missed us last night and were mostly south of the city. we just got lots of rain. tonight while mom was on the computer she saw a bright flash and heard a loud rumble. she went outside to investigate and a branch had fallen on our power line but it had bounced off and then fallen to the ground so we didn't have any problems. apparently the neighbors across the street are having electrical problems due to our tree falling last week because the electric company was here tonight restringing cables but not to our house.

  HI Peepers
All that running around has to be hard on Nana. No wonder she's in pain. It sure was another busy day for both mom and Nana.
Mom's daughter is getting released from the hospital today, so mom is ready to go pick her up. We had rain and thunder boomers overnight, and it's still gray and cloudy looking. It's supposed to clear up by noon, but mom will get to the pool late, as she has to make sure her daughter is settled in at her home and has all the meds she needs. She should be leaving the hospital with at least one prescription for antibiotics.
Otherwise, today is the day mom and her sis go to dinner, so if she doesn't make the pool, she'll still go out tonight for awhile.
Update: Mom picked up her daughter and they dropped off a scrip for antibiotics. Also, it's stopped raining, but it will be muddy at the pool, so we think it's probably not going to be a good day to go.
I hope you are having an awesome day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Really is better for restaurants to have the space for take out, the call ahead, etc. as know they get more business that way. There are more places that will deliver these days too so have a wider selection.

Taking the grand shopping is a lot easier when there's two adults. She sits in the cart for a lil while then wants to get out. Will walk a bit but then starts to grab stuff. Mom got away easy yesterday and only had to get one additional item which the grand ate quite a lot of once they got home.

Don't think our oranges are super thick in the peel but not overly thin like the juice types. They are quite juicy and since it rained during fall/winter fairly tasty. Too bad can't send our eggcess but with bugs and such unable to take anything outta the immediate area.

We'll keep our wings crossed for Nana to get a quick appointment. Just have to stress that she is hurting and can't wait days or weeks to be seen.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time humming and swaying happily together.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

mom has this sad little bird house made out of metal that is no bigger than a soup can and she hunt it by the front porch and these little finches moved in , built a nest, laid eggs and are now feeding the very noisy babies. mom can't figure out how they even fit in it.

  HI Peepers
Mom got the pic of her with the skull at the museum. It came via email today, but it's a pdf file and mom doesn't know how to convert it to jpg to put it in my gallery for a day or 2. We will welcome all suggestions.
This morning mom got her mani/pedi. She had the owner of the salon, so she was out of there in under 2 hours. Wasn't that great? She was happy to have them done finally. After she got home, she went to the pool for the afternoon. It was kind of gray and cloudy looking, but hot. She predicted that the sun would come out when she was ready to leave, and it did, of course.
Anyway now we have mom for the rest of the day, which is just fine with us! Mom's daughter is still in the hospital, so we ask for prayers for her healing. The swelling has gone up, but the redness has faded a bit.
I hope you are having a great day today, getting lots of great weather, as well as cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Occasionally will see peck holes in the oranges. Wonder if an oriole would do that? Certainly never want to do anything that might attract more ants. Good to find the ant hills and spray 'em so keep outta the house.

The froyo place is self serve. The flavors will vary. There are lots of different toppings but parronts normally don't add anything. The bowl gets weighed to determine the cost.

The restaurants with limited parking usually have a couple spots reserved for those who order take out. Can always call ahead so it won't take as long.

Supposed to cool slightly here and then go back up for the w/e. Mom didn't get any of the grocery shopping done yesterday so since babysitting again will have the grand in tow and probably end up buying a tad more than usual, heehee.

That is a good idea of skinbro to set some $$ aside each month so has enough to pay his bills. He's learning that must budget and fortunate your mom had enough funds to cover it until he gets paid. Know other people would resort to a payday loan to not get behind but then would have to pay a fee or interest and really end up paying more.

Glad the flock got to go outside for the sunshine, fresh air and showers and observe the wildlife too. Mom saw a hummingbird at our feeder yesterday. Had a good view since was sitting on the side. Not a ruby throat, kinda dull colors so maybe it was a female.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight humming and swaying happily together for a long time.

  HI Peepers
That's terrible that dad didn't have any help at all. Good thing he didn't bail too, or there would have been nobody there.
Glad that mom got Anthony all straightened out with the insurance, but that's not a good story. Making her go and put more money on a card after she already gave him enough to cover the insurance isn't good.
Today mom had a tour in the morning at the museum. It was a day camp with special needs children and their chaperones. They were very late getting there, as their bus broke down, so the tour was shorter than it should have been. The kids were interested in the dinosaurs, though, and loved the touchable items mom showed.
Mom got that pic back today that the teacher from Ohio sent her a few weeks ago. Her boss said she'd email a copy too so we can post it. Mom likes it because it shows the little Archaeopteryx head.
It was grey and sticky this morning, seemed like it was going to rain any second, but it turned into a beautiful afternoon. So you know where mom went! That's right, she spent a few hours at the pool, but now she's home with us for the rest of the day. She may go to the hospital to see her daughter after dinner, but she might just stay here, too. She hasn't talked to her daughter yet. Yesterday she seemed pretty sure she'd be home today, but she texted mom and said they are keeping her again.
I hope you are having a good day today, getting lots of great summer weather as well as lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Sounds like the oriole wants a second flavor food when going to sample the hummingbird nectar. Probably similar stuff. Seen orioles here occasionally so maybe we'll see one at our hummingbird feeder one day.

That restaurant parking lot has always been too small for the amount of people who go there. In the evenings they have the valet parking so can stack more cars in but they normally don't get there until 5ish but think father's day probably busy the entire day since giving out the free glasses. Parronts had a wonderful meal. They stopped on the way home to have froyo.

Just glad our area isn't overly humid, not in the triple digits (yet) and cools overnight. The parronts will be babysitting later so mom is gonna walk the grand over to visit the great grand parronts before it gets too hot.

Skinbro is fortunate your mom was able to assist him on getting that Visa giftcard to pay his ins. Guess they didn't make it clear to him the first time to have the entire amount on the card. Hopefully he got it all taken care of.

  Hi Peepers
dad was sick on fathers day so mom went to the cemetery to check on her dads flowers. mom was surprised and how beautiful they looked. there must not be any deer at the cemetery.

today mom saw our nosey deer laying in the yard dozing. mom showed dad and he immediately thought something was wrong with it. mom said it feels so comfortable in our yard it sleeps in the open during the daytime. dad insisted it was sick. mom went out side so many times to check on it, the deer finally got up and sauntered over to a tasty shrub. it wasn't limping, panting or bleeding. as it proceeded to munch on the shrub mom clapped her hands and told it to stop. it turned around and blinked at mom as if to say "WHAT". it then went to another plant to munch on and mom clapped her hands and told it to go away. it slowly walked across the yard pausing to see if mom was still there before going down to the neighbors yard. this morning the hibiscus tree had no leaves or flowers on it. many shrubs were munched on during the night.

  HI Peepers
Poor dad had to work alone? That isn't right! I bet he was exhausted!
Happy Summer! It's the longest day today, so enjoy it to the fullest! From now on, we lose a minute or so of daylight each day until the winter solstice, when the minutes start picking up again.
Mom was assigned the RVS room this morning. There are 18 cages and no fan in there. She got the first 10 cages done, then her shift was up. There were tons of raccoons, a few skunks, and a few groundhogs in there today. The one cage with 2 baby skunks had one with nearly a totally black back! He only had one white spot up near his shoulder. Mom knows that skunk stripes are as unique as fingerprints, so it's not surprising. Our education skunk Murphy has a broad white stripe, covering his whole back.
Mom's daughter was admitted to the hospital yesterday with cellulitis, and they're keeping her until at least tomorrow. Mom just talked to her, and she's fairly cheerful. She said the antibiotic didn't heal it as quickly as the doctor thought, that's why they're keeping her. Hopefully she'll be home tomorrow, though.
I hope you are having a wonderful day today, getting the most out of the first day of summer with lots of attention, cuddles, and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Our dad doesn't put any food coloring in the hummingbird feeder. Mixes up his own sugar water for 'em and they find it just fine. Does your parronts use a mix for the oriole feeder? What is different about it as know the hummingbird one is basically sugar water (not sure the ratio since dad takes care of it). So awesome for skinsis to see all the wildbirds while the flock was having their sunbath and showers.

Hot here yesterday. Not triple digits, whew! There was a good breeze so that helped. The parronts went to dinner at a place that parking is always tight when busy. They circled a couple of times but finally left, went across the street and parked on the street and walked back. Dad wanted to eat there since that restaurant gives out free Father's day glasses. It was busy inside but still several places open for diners. Since they went around 4 pm no waiting when it was just the two of 'em.

More BC troubles? Glad it is working this morning and not finding it on the blink again.

What a busy day for your mom. All that going up and down the stairs and hanging and folding laundry. Sounds like the BBQ will be held another day since your dad had to work that event all by himself. Really unacceptable the reliability of some hoomans.

Another busy day! It was good that all of the folks got to celebrate Father's day with dad last night, though, if he's working the auto show today. Does mom have a special dinner planned for today? Hope he isn't too late at the show.
Happy Father's Day to the bird dads out there.
After a wonderful pool day yesterday, mom came home and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening with us. We love it when she does that, it means we all get lots of attention. This morning mom walked the girls, then watered all the plants in containers. They were starting to dry out after the 4 inches of rain they got on Thursday. The ones in the garden are still okay. Mom also weeded a little, but they are really getting ahead of her. It's tough to keep up with them.
I hope you are having a great day full of sunshine and cuddles and scritches just for you. Hugs, Willie

  Hi Peepers
Happy Father's day to your dad.

Sounds like BC went down after you were able to give us that 30K vote. Knew we were close so it was annoying not being able to check that morning where we were at and find it down.

Didn't know there was oriole nectar so guess they must get something outta the hummingbird one. Must be a tad challenging since the hummingbird feeder is made for their long beaks. How fun to be able to watch all the wildlife when outside now that temps are warmer and knowing they are enjoying the feeders and the bird bath.

Yesterday was a nice weather day. Windows open in the evening. Not looking forward to the warm up but if humidity stays low will be tolerable.

Nothing wrong with having the Father's day meal on a different day since your dad will be working. When everyone has varying work schedules makes sense and probably a lil less crowded than doing anything on the actual day.

  HI Peepers
I"m so sorry Nana's hearing aid appointment had to be moved to the 29th! That's terrible to make her wait so long. I really hope when they come in that they're the right fit and easy for her to use.
Mom wrote a thank you email to i5 for getting BC back up and running. She thinks if we can all complain when it's down, we can also be gracious when it's back up. Hopefully, that will be incentive for them to keep us up and running.
Last night mom, Aunt Ginny, and Jessica had take out Thai from one of mom's favorite restaurants. Aunt Gin picked up the food on her way home from work and Jessica brought dessert. They watched Joy, with Jennifer Lawrence. It was a chick flick, which mom doesn't normally like, but she enjoyed this one. The story line was interesting. Aunt Gin got to pick the movie because it was her birthday treat. Mom signed up months ago for points from Verizon, but didn't know what to use them for. Well, when she went to rent the movie last night, she got to use some of her points, and the pay per view was free! What an unexpected treat that was!
Today it's bright and sunny out, and was pretty warm already when mom walked the dogs. So it's going to be a pool day for sure! I hope you are having a great day today, getting lots of sunshine, warm weather, cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
We knew we were close to the 30K and thrilled you were able to give it to us. Sounds like BC was just about to go offline when you got us the vote. Know we were late to the party since didn't check BC was back until late yesterday. So irksome when it isn't working in the morning.

Wonder if the oriole gets anything outta that hummingbird feeder. Dad thinks birds that do that must be trying to get water as doubt that the hummingbird nectar is really something they want to eat. Watching the wildlife antics is always enjoyable.

Wow, a lot of accidents? People need to slow down and taking up to an hour to get to Nana's? Yikes!

The humidity skedaddled by early evening so mom opened the window a tad by the bed to be able to sleep. Not looking forward to the warm up but certainly hope is doesn't get humid again.

Too bad the wrong hearing aids came in. Hopefully get the correct ones by time the next appointment arrives.

Gas prices here are around $3 now. Good thing for gas reward points. Hopefully it won't keep going up all summer. Mom uses more gas now since work is a lot farther away. Gets better mileage though so it is a trade off.

  Hi Peepers
HAPPY TGIF DAY. so glad we are able to blog once again on bird channel. it is a disaster here. on wednesday we have t-storms and couldn't use the computer. mom went outside to clean up from the previous nights storms and saw that all the oak leaves were falling from one of the oak trees the parents had spent money on giving vitamins and anti fungus injections . there was a ton of leaves on the ground below. the aborists was called and verified that unfortunately the tree had already contracted oak leaf rot prior to the ignjections and needed to be taken down. this is very sad as the tree is quite large and is around 64 years old. he then wanted to dig a trench all around the tree to proven further damage to other tree roots. mom said this would kill all her shrubs and other trees in the area. then more thundernder storms rolled in and buckets of rain fell all that afternoon, evening and night. mom and dad aren't early risers and around 9am they look outside and another big tree had fallen down and smashed their hedge and was laying in the road. you would think neighbors would have informed the parents of what had happened but no one said a word. rotten neighbors. now they need 2 more ash and the dying oak cut down. estimated cost 2100. all day today mom and dad worked trying to clean up the mess. in between working dad had different tree services scheduled to come over and give estimated costs. mom is exhausted and dad has passed out. you would think all the vitamins and fertilizing of the trees would have kept them healthy but it didn't work. i think the same can be said of people. anyway we will work through this even though the removal of the big oak is going to damage a lot of other things when it is cut down they have no choice. on monday mom was walking through her yard and gardens and admitting ow lush everything looked. it turns out the one neighbor has already had the oak leaf wilting disease and thats why he cut down all his oak trees and neglected to tell mom and dad about it so they might have been able to prevent it if they had innoculized the trees last year.

  Hi, Peepers
Thanks so much for giving us that 30K vote. So eggciting to get to that amazing total. Nearly missed out since BC wasn't up this morning. We did go over and join the party.

That is good that skinsis will be more serious about eating the right things to prevent any future flareups. Be good if your mom continues when possible to make the eggstra good meats to send home with the skinsibs so they have the basis of a good meal. Know often when come home from long day at work don't really want to cook anything but if already have the meat then much easier to make some veggies, rice, pasta or potatoes to go with it. Or even just throw it on a salad.

Imagine sometimes w/e traffic could be heavier but around here when mom goes to work it is actually a lot lighter. Your mom just needs to always allot eggstra travel time just in case.

So awesome to see that first hummingbird! They are just so wonderful to watch.

Humid today and mostly overcast. No rain. Not for us anyway. Maybe places north of us got some but didn't check weather report.
