How my tiel and I got together was just a miracle. I had lost my first tiel in 98 and was hoping one would drop on my doorstep and in 2002 we were supposed to babysit him for his previous mommy and she passed away and her friend asked if we would keep him for our own. I was so happy! cause I needed a tiel to fill the hole my first tiel left. Of course my peach fronted conure arrived the day after he died but it was only a tiel that could fill up that hole. I love my conure because she makes me laugh and keeps me happy. I was even happier when Peepers came to fill that void, the void needed by another tiel. I became the owner when my mom asked me if I wanted to keep him and I was like heck ya, I love this tiel so much! I heard his previous mommy wanted to make sure he was in a loving home before she died and he sure is!. Awards

Hi! My name is Peepers

I am a Cinnamon Mutation Cockatiel from Marstons Mills, MA.

Peeps,Big Boy,

Cinnamon Mutation Cockatiel

nutraberries,pa- sta,animal crackers,apple peels,

i like to hang out on the playpen with my 4 conure brothers/sister- s and my pesky lutino brother and on my mommys shoulder.

I dont like showers but mommy makes me go with her but hey at least im a clean boy!, when my brother Mario steals MY perch(Lutino Cockatiel),when i gotta be stuck in the cage when mommy goes to work cuz i like to hop onto the floor because she doesnt want me getting hurt,

I love my mommy cuz she takes real good care of me and gives me lots of loves, she says im a special boy cuz i eat with my foot like a parrot she takes me on car rides, walks on my neat neon yellow harness and leash which i hate but wearing that leash means going out so i gotta be a good boy for mommy and wear it,she likes to snuggle with me and i with her. for my birthday she makes me a special birdie cake topped with seeds cuz i only get pellets for my meals cuz she thinks pellets are alot more healthier for me than seeds and they taste good too! the fruity ones are my fave! im just soo happy she adopted me cuz im happy that i found her and made her soo happy again! me being left at her house was a miracle to her and to me too cuz i have 5 brothers/sister- s for company when mommy goes to work.

i like to eat with my foot like a parrot mommy thinks its soo COOL when i do that,I like to hold my foot up when i sing and she thinks thats soo CUTE!, mommy taught me to play dead, i just lay on my back in the palm of her hand real still she thinks thats soo Cute as well and hopping on the floor and going for a run catch me if u can cuz my little pink tiel legs can move!.

"where there is floor tiel will travel, watch your step cuz im goin for a run!".

Okay, this cold weather has to stop soon! Mom was going to work in the garden today, but it's only low 40s outside right now, and really cloudy. If the weather changes, she'll have some time to work outdoors, but if not, I guess it's only laundry today.
I hope you have a good day, with spring weather and lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Such a long day for Dixie and your mom. Hopefully that gift card error was fixed correctly since have to pay a fee to have it activated (Yikes!) and that skinbro won't be late on paying his insurance. Seems like everything is happening at once but at least sounds like Nana is doing well if able to accompany your mom on the errands.

We are having a bit of rain. Not much. Started late last night and supposed to be cleared out by midday. It will help the plants so we won't have to water 'em for a lil while longer.

The last couple of days dad's brother has stayed with us since his work sent him to a construction site a few miles away. Had to sleep on the couch as the eggstra bed they had belonged to skinsis and she claimed it not long ago. Mom had to be as quiet as possible doing our morning blogs to not disturb him. Don't think she work him as heard soft snores most of the time, heehee. Not sure if he'll be back next week but hopefully if so he'll bring his cot to sleep on and the parronts will make room for it in the eggstra bedroom.

The three 'tiels all open the wings up wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight. They are thinking good thoughts for the entire family that Nana and skinsis continue to recover from their surgeries and that Skinbro's drama will lessen to give their mom more relaxing time. Silver eventually grabs a guitar and begins to strum as Pearl starts to sing 'Open Arms' by Journey (but change it to Open Wings, heehee) and Peepers joins in.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hey Peepers!
As morning approaches the smell of bacon and eggs permeates the air and every birdies nares as they awake in a hungry stage. Their bodies still sleeping but the smell of food being cooked over an open fire kinda wakes up their hungry belly.

Pookie along with Cookie and Laka float towards the smell of food cooking along with the other birds as they slowly awake from a blissful nights sleep.

They look on the buffet table and breakfast is ready for who ever is hungry.

The bacon and eggs and blueberry pancakes awaken the sleepiest birds.
Mom says the plates are on the table along with breakfast so help yourself.

Pookie eyes the blueberry pancakes as that is his favorite. Laka looks at all the fruit. Pineapple, mango, papaya bananas and fresh blueberries too.

Wow what a spread!! Every birdies beak us watering just looking at all the food.

There's guava, orange, pineapple, apple and lilikoi juice and hot cocoa too if you want.

Everyone starts piling the food on their plates.

Mom had a tooth pulled on Saturday so that's why we're extending the beach time. Today she went back to the dentist as she kept having pain and sure enough it was a little infected. :(. He shot her twice to clean up the wound where the tooth was pulled, but while doing that mom could feel pain. The injection had worn off which is unusual so he gave her another shot and this time mom was all numb and dumb. She has ta go back again tomorrow to check on the boo boo as it tastes terrible this medicine. What ever mom eats or drinks she tastes the medicine. So hopefully it will be better after tomorrow.

So for now its still beach time guys !!! Everyone yells yeah !!!

Boogie board time yells Cookie and Pookie who race to the water after breakfast while Laka and Chyna decide to just lounge around and catch some rays.

Here's a vote for you and another happy day at the beach!

  Hi Peepers
If mom had time, we'd take over at least the pie shop, but she's so busy, she can't do it.
It's another cool day, in the mid 40s right now, but maybe it will be warmer next week.
Yesterday mom and her sis went to the President's Circle open house and reception at the Animal Rescue League. Between the shelter and the center, they treated over 12,000 animals last year! You already heard about the nearly 3000 wildlife animals and their success rate, and now here's the great news--ARL adopted out over 7000 of the 9000 animals they took in, isn't that fantastic? Mom's sis was glad there were no kittens in yet this year, but mom is hoping she will go back in a couple of weeks, when they will be inundated with kittens, and pick one up for herself.
This morning mom got to do the avian nursery. She was so glad to be somewhere other than the RVS room again. It was a real pleasure to clean bird cages and feed birds. There is a red bellied woodpecker in there right now, as well as robins, doves, and a waxwing. The center was very happy to accept mom's check for Peppino's hugs and kisses for $105. It will help a lot. Mom also signed up to do a tour there on Tuesday and to work the marathon event on Friday of next week. Hope she can just get a morning shift for that event.
I hope you are having a fantastic day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Anything cornbread based has gotta be yummy. We're sure Celine and the entire flock loved it.

That is the second Walmart grocery to be in our area. The first one took over a Safeway grocery that moved. That location is much smaller but still has a fairly good selection. Mom didn't look at her receipt total but knows it was probably kinda high.

There's a harbor freight not too far from us. Mom's never gone there but know our dad has. Can't recall what was in that building previously as it took over another business. In our city nothing can be too big either but we live so close to many other cities that easy to just go to there if need be.

It is as it should be that parronts continue to help out their kids. Just terrible that some would shove many unprepared kids outta the nest just since they turn 18. However, we understand it if kids aren't working or going to school and being basically bums sponging off parronts. Kids need to be responsible and pay their way even if it is doing chores around the house to earn their keep.

We are surprised that post office there don't have the drive up boxes. Later in the day the postal employees wheel out a cart and empty the boxes loaded with outgoing mail to process. Makes it convenient when can drop off mail at any time of day even if the office isn't open.

Still mild temps here. Heard we have rain again in our forecast but we'll believe it if see the ground wet.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight. They are so happy and hope to be able to start singing some songs again.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
Your mom is just so sweet, fixing everything, turning the car so Nana and Shiloh could see each other, paying the bills for sis, etc. She is sure a good egg! My mom would love to learn pizap, but she's afraid she's too dense and impatient. They can try when your mom gets here, though.
Mom saw SNOW on her way home from the museum today! Really, snow!!! It's chilly out there, and gray and cloudy, but who thought snow would show up? Hope it starts feeling like spring again soon, and not fall.
This morning mom only had one tour at the museum, and it was a lot of fun. The group was second grade again, but they were cute and there were only 8 in the group so that made it easy. It was an animal tour, too, and mom got to start in birds just the way it should be, haha. Later this evening mom is attending a donor event at the Animal Rescue League Shelter. They do this every year, and mom likes to go because it gives her a chance to socialize with some of her colleagues that she doesn't see very often. Her sister is going with her this year, too, so that should be interesting. It's been a couple of years since her sister lost a cat, so maybe she'll see somebody tonight that needs her to adopt him/her.
We were sad to read that the pie shop and the flower shop are going to close. We have fond memories of both of them, especially the pie shop, where we make deliveries twice a week.
I hope you are having better weather than we are, and that you are getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Happy 17th hatchday to Celine! Hope it is her best ever and she receives lots of treats, toys and attention.

Sounds like the weather was good for all the errand running. Always nice when the cold and possible rain waits until evening when back home and inside. So awesome for Dixie to get the car ride to Nana's and visit with the cousins.

Not sure why some days the post office is packed without any parking (lots in the ones here are all small too) but most here do also have the drive up boxes if the mail is addressed and has a stamp. There are really no boxes in neighborhoods anymore like when the parronts were kids.

Thanks again for the special prize pic. We love it. Only posted one but may add the other one later on since mom ran out of time to do both yesterday.

That is good skinbro got his car back. Be so much easier for him to get himself to work and back but know the parronts were glad to assist him.

No rain for us. However, areas north of us did get some so at least part of CA is getting the much needed rain. Temps are staying in the low 70s for us but still windyish so doesn't feel overly warm. If there was any fog mom didn't see it since she waited until almost 10 to go out yesterday. That's when the library opens and she had a book on hold. Later the parronts went to the new WalMart grocery to check it out. It took over a defunct Circuit City building. Bigger than the other location near 'em.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight basking in their shared friendship. Soon they begin to hum and sway and then start to sing Happy Hatchday to Celine and dance around her while she beams in delight.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hey Peepers,
Sorry mom got booted off the BC before we could get started with the Bon fire! :(

But that's okay one more day with fun in the sun! Whooo hooooo!!!

Hopefully this Bon fire will go through. ;)

Meanwhile Papa Peter gets the wood together for the Bon fire while its still lighted so he can see where to put the logs so they burn all night long. He sets up logs for everyone to sit on around the Bon fire. This one will be a good one he says as its a special night. ;)

Cookie over hears Papa Peter saying that its gonna be a special night so he asks why??

Papa Peter turns around and sees Cookie standing there watching him. Hmmm he rubs his chin and says its a secret and I can't tell you but I'm sure everyone will like it and he smiles and walks away getting more wood for the Bon fire.

As it starts to get dark everyone gathers around the bonfire and its nice and cozy as mom passes everyone a cup of cocoa and a plate of brownies and pineapple cake.

Everyone oohs and ahhhhs as she comes around with the tray of goodies and hot cocoa.

After everyone eats and sips their cocoa they hear a loud bang!!!!!

What was that everyone looks around. Pookie says look out there up in the sky!!!

It's a fireworks display!!!! Wow!!! Whooo hooooo!! Everyone is amazed and eggcited to watch the fireworks going off.

There is chatter from every birdie after that wonderful egg citing display of fireworks.

Did you see the happy face one asks Dixie, that was soo cool!!

Sugar says I liked the whole thing !!!

Okay everyone, enjoy the night sky as its so nice and clear you can see the Big Dipper and others.

We pitch the tent to go back home tomorrow so lets get a good nights rest. Awwww everyone sighs.

But that doesn't mean that we can't come back.

Everyone claps yay. !!!!

Okay nighty night everyone !!

Mom kisses everyone around the fire before she and dad turns in. Pookie says the parronts sleep early as they get older these days.

Plus shhhhh but there's a surprise breakfast for us. But don't say anything okay??

Hugs and a vote.

  Hi Peepers
It's fine to send things in email, as long as they are things mom can move. If it's a gif. file, she can open it, but can't save or move it. If it's jpg or jpeg, she can do anything with it. She sure would love to know how to do pizap or one of the other editing thingies.
Happy Earth Day, do something nice for your mother (earth) today.
Mom had a tour with second graders today. As you might know, that's one of her least favorite ages, but this group was fantastic! They knew a little already and were eager to learn all they could about dinosaurs. Mom tells all her groups about some characteristics at the beginning of the tour, then as the tour goes on, she asks questions in front of certain dinos. Examples are big body, little head = herbivore, or teeth can regrow. This group nailed all of them! That's unusual for kids that young. Anyway mom had fun and at the end, one of the teachers told her that she's the best docent they ever had. This teacher has been doing this tour for several years now, so she really liked what she heard today.
Tomorrow is another tour day, so we'll be later getting online again. It was raining cats and dogs this morning. At least that's what mom said, but all I saw were raindrops. Polly didn't want to walk, and Daisy didn't want to stay out long, so maybe they will get a good walk later today. I hope you are having a good spring day, it feels like fall here, with temps in the mid 40s. Get lots of cuddles and scritches while you can! Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Always kinda scary to be driving in the fog and dark but at least at 6am it does start to get light within a half hour so probably not as bad driving home. Hopefully skinbro will get his own vehicle back and be able to get himself to work.

No rain for us. It was all sunny, warm and breezy. Supposedly we'll be getting some fog and areas north of us will get the rain.

At least after all these years your mom is well aware of Dixie's antics upon return from a vacation. Just shows how much he missed her and is 'punishing' her for not taking him along in her having to earn his love again. It is good she is often able to take him on errands and visits to Nana.

We got the pics and they should be in our gallery. Just hadn't opened the email in a few days so didn't realize they were there. Love 'em both.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide open for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time feeling all the love surrounding them.

  Hi Peepers
Mom is fine today, thanks so much for asking! Also, thanks for loading my prize pic on your page. Mom tried and tried to get it off the computer, but nothing would open and transfer it. She could open it to look at, but couldn't move it, edit it, save it, or anything else. She thinks it's because of the gif. format, but who knows?
This morning mom had a docent meeting and after the business was done, the educational loan manager came in and talked about a new animal exhibit that will be at the museum from May to January. It looks exciting and interactive for kids, but we think adults will get a lot out of it, too. Of course, the adults probably won't put on the chipmunk vests and go exploring inside tree trunks, but there is a naturalist's tent set up where lots can be done by all ages, and everyone can enjoy some of the activities.
After lunch with some of the docents, they all headed over to the mandatory afternoon training on workplace discrimination and harassment. What a bore! Mom sat way in the back and ducked out kind of early, because the guy giving the talk was speaking in a monotone, and mom thought she'd fall asleep.
Of course, our blogs needed to be done, too, so that was another reason to leave, haha.
Now she's ours, and we can get our blogging done and have her for the day. I hope your weather is better than ours, it's chilly today, and will be all week, apparently. It's also really cloudy with some minutes of sun here and there.
I hope also that you are getting lots of cuddles and scritches today. Hugs, Willie

Hopefully skinbro was able to get one of his friends to give him a ride so your mom won't have to be out when it is still dark eggspecially in area not as familiar with. If so then hope he drives there and she only has to drive home as by then it would be more light out.

Mom was at work so didn't see the coverage of the Boston Marathon. Saw a clip online that showed it was a bit rainy and probably on the cold side but know the runners were aware of the conditions.

Dixie certainly has quite the personality, heehee. Can't blame him for feeling abandoned and your mom having to earn his love and get back in his good graces again.

  Hi Peepers
Love that derby pic! Thanks for the jukebox and the other painting from NTT, I appreciate them. Mom couldn't pick up the gif, maybe if you put it on your page, I can get it.
Hope mom had some rest yesterday, it sure was nice talking to her, mom said.
Mom has been a bit dizzy and nauseous since last night, so when she left the center today she went to the store and got some ginger ale to help her settle the stomach. Hope that takes care of the dizziness too. Of course, she also bought a new cucumber, mango, pepper, yam, and berries for us while she was there.
When she got to the center today she found out she was doing (what else?) the RVS room. But when Bree saw her, she suggested that mom just sit in there and feed bats. Mom fed all 7 of them and cleaned their cages, but it took over 2 hours. While she was working, one of the staff came in and told her not to clean the big cages, just to finish the bats and leave. Mom was happy to oblige. She thought she'd get some yard things done today, but it was raining when she left the supermarket, so yard work is probably out of the question.
I hope you are having a beautiful spring day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Hopefully you'll get warmer temps soon to be able to get outside for the fresh air and sunshine. We remain in the 70s and sunny so very pleasant here.

That is good your dad was able to drive skinbro. Our mom isn't fond of driving eggcept close locations and no freeways. Just too many speeders and distracted drivers to contend with.

Can't imagine how those runners do it in the rainy conditions and wet pavement. Hopefully no accidents but we imagine that race will still have plenty of participants.

So, does Dixie give your mom a super greeting when she returns from vacation? Know dogs do that.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time. Just can't beat feeling all the warmth and joy of their friendship flowing thru them.

  Hi Peepers
We had movie night last night, mom rented Birdman on demand. The biggest problem was that we were in lockdown because Jessica is a little afraid of us. Falco made her displeasure known by screaming every now and then, Peppino chattered, but not as long as he did last movie night, and I was the good boy among us(of course). Maxine even put in her 2 cents worth.
Mom bought more pellets and some poop off at the warehouse yesterday, and got me one of my favorite kinds of foot toy, one made of cardboard with excelsior and a little treat inside.
Today she has a later tour at the museum, so she's hoping to finish cleaning out her pots for planting this years annuals before she goes. It's going to be a girl scout troop and they want the biomes tour. Apparently they've been doing some ecostudies in troop meetings, which is really good.
I hope you are having another great spring day. It's supposed to be nice here all day and rain later on, towards evening. May you have warm and sunny skies, lots of cuddles and scritches, too. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Ugh! A beautiful spring day and couldn't go outside or open the windows to air out the house due to an idiot burning stuff? Yikes! How is that even allowed? Should just be taking things to the dump.

That is good your dad was able to help your mom buying those heavy sacks of wild bird food. Know it probably won't last long but imagine they are awkward as well as heavy to lift.

Good that the parronts were finally able to get Angel Mario to his final resting spot. Sounds like skinsis made him a beautiful casket inside and out. We do miss him playing and singing with us but know he's still watching and joining in from the Rainbow Bridge.

We have some rain in our forecast for Tue/Wed so we'll see how much that brings. It won't help the drought much but as we've said before it will benefit our trees and shrubs.

Skinsis has been telling furball that they'll be leaving to attend the wedding and she'll be staying with us. We imagine it'll be confusing for her but at least she'll be in familiar surroundings. Can't imagine what critters who have to be boarded at a kennel think.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and feel Angel Mario joining them. They hold on for a long time remembering all their happy playing music, singing and dancing together and they begin to sway and hum basking in the warmth of love.

Pookie and Cookie walk along the beach checking out everyone's sand castle.

Look Cookie says Sugar and Peepers have won second place !!

There's a blue ribbon on a stick and the judges stick it in their castle.

Wow cool says Sugar and Peepers. I betcha it was the moat that got us second place says Peepers, Sugar nods and agrees yup I think so too. :)

Pookie says come on there's food in the tent along with a sign that says thank you all sand castle builders you are all winners, Congratulations to you all!!

Help yourself to the big spread if veggie platters and an extra extra large fruit platter too.

Peepers says look there's pineapple cake, chocolate pies, cookies, brownies, ooh my!!

Just for us?? How cool is that ?? :)

Pookie passes everyone a plate and says there's plenty so come back for seconds and thirds!! :)

Momma Ruthie takes pictures of all the sand castles and their creators before the tide takes it away. She will make copies and have it framed for every birdie to have.

We're having another Bon fire tonight so don't forget to put on your sun screen today as its a nice hot day. :)

Sugar and Peepers are very happy with their sand castle creation. :)

Today mom has a class in handling RVS animals, then she is going to the bird warehouse to pick up a few things.
This afternoon she is hoping to get outside, it's supposed to go to 79! It will be a great day to finish the cleanup in the yard and gardens, and catch a few rays while doing it. Tonight mom, Aunt Gin, and her niece Jessica will be here for pizza and a movie. They are renting Birdman. It seems some folks love it and others don't, so I guess it got them all curious.

  Hi, Peepers
Thanks for liking our new derby pic. Took us a while to shop for the new hats and we just entered the contest too.

Our weather is opposite yours once again. Yesterday was another low 80s but we should be cooler by Sun/Mon and Tue/Wed is actually forecast for rain. Hopefully it is a drencher to keep our trees and shrubs happy. Know we'd need days and days of rain for any kinda drought relief and that isn't happening any time soon.

How yucky to have to deal with the trash run in the rain. The ground must be kinda icky at the dump.

Sounds like a lot of errands got done and good bargains found too. $100 for meds? Yikes! Our dad always has to battle with the pharmacy about the price of his meds. They both have prescription coverage so price should never be that high. Just have to get those at the store to bill correctly.

Mom is thinking if furball is dropped off with her supplies and dogbed (for inside the house) and leave her outside doghouse behind she might figure that she's not staying for good. Since spring it isn't cold during the day so doesn't really need the outside doghouse and anyway dad is home a majority of the time anyway. There's always dad's truck on the driveway inside the gate for her to hide under (not sure why dogs like doing that) if she's home alone.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight basking in the warmth, joy and love of their shared friendship.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

When mom buys the big artichokes, she stuffs them with the bread stuffing, simple with a bit of oregano, basil, parsley, oil, garlic, and salt. Then she steams them. They are sloppier to eat, though. Everyone in the family loves them like that, I think mom is the only one who likes the little ones steamed with oil and garlic.
Today mom had her best spring day at the center so far. She got to work in the bunny room and take care of the baby squirrels. Many of the babies have been weaned and are eating either salad (bunnies) or mash (squirrels), so mom got to clean their little cages and prepare baby food for them. She loves the babies.
It's cool and cloudy again today. Mom didn't get any work done outside yesterday because while we were blogging it started to rain. It rained on and off all day. Today was supposed to be better, but it's still pretty humid outside and a bit cool. Mom doesn't like to work out there on cool damp days. I hope you are having some good spring weather and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
It warmed up here as forecast but our area only went into the low 80s, whew! Next week will cool back down and there's even rain in the forecast for Tue/Wed. Hope we get some.

Furball came over at Easter but she's always eggcited to see mom whenever she visits. She'd probably be super eggcited if dad showed up. Hopefully she won't think that skinsis, hubby and the grand are leaving her forever. Not sure how furballs think in that regard.

Sounds like your mom got a lot of the household chores done since has to do so many errand runs today. Hope the weather warms up more but if the sun is out that sure makes it look nice out.

Our mom had bleeding hearts once. They are very pretty. Dad is continuing to trim the lemon tree and tidy up the yard.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight. They feel Angel Mario's wings surrounding them and it warms their hearts to know he is watching over them.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
That artichoke salad sounds good. Mom is reading a Donna Leone book right now, and the detective had some artichokes steamed and sprinkled with olive oil, not the huge ones, just the little guys. Mom buys some of them when she sees them, which isn't often enough. She likes them steamed with garlic and sprinkled with olive oil, too.
Nothing special going on today, just chilling with mom. She is still working outside to clean up after the winter, but it's too cool to take us out there yet. Maybe Saturday, it's supposed to go to 70 then. Tonight mom will go to dinner with her sister, then clean our cages again. It's a recycling week here, so she'll be cleaning up all the paper we get in the mail on a daily basis too. Tomorrow all the extra newspapers will go to the wildlife center for use there.
I hope you are having a good day, getting some springlike weather, and of course, getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
How awesome to get the sun and 60 temp for doing all the errands and for Nana to practice walking around outside her house. Sounds like she's progressing really well.

Temps yesterday were low 70s, sunny and breezy. Very nice to do the shopping with Skinsis and the grand since they were at an outside kinda mall. Took awhile but found a dress for the grand and later one for skinsis to wear to her friend's wedding. The parronts will be dogsitting while skinsis is gone.

Think that's probably the same rule that gma had with her mailbox being across the street. However, she did get it changed so not sure if there were boxes on both sides and previous owner never switched it. Can't be pleasant to get the mail when across the street when rainy or snowy out.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time. They so enjoy basking in their friendship and love.

  Hi Peepers
Poor Celine, she probably misses her mom. I hope your mom isn't too busy today, she must be running from Nana's to sis's and back home again!
We are starting to get flowers in bloom here, it's so exciting! Many daffodils have already opened up, the forsythia is in bloom, there are hyacinths in the yard in all different colors, buds on the wiegalia, the lilac is sprouting leaves, it's looking a lot like spring here!
This morning mom had a tour with K kids about animals. They were another Montessori group and were well prepared for their tour. They spent about half the time in Bird Hall, comparing beaks and feet. Mom loved that.
When she got home, her cell phone had lost the charge, so she tucked it into her purse to take to Radio Shack after she dropped off the dogs. They are presently at the groomer having a spa day, and the guy said it would be longer today, so they must be really busy there.
At Radio Shack, the guy told mom her battery was really dead, and put it on a charger. He then checked the cord which mom had remembered to pack, and found out the cord itself is defective. She has to call the manufacturer for a replacement. He was cute, offered to leave her phone on their charger for a couple of hours while she shopped, but mom politely declined and bought another cord to bring home with her. It would be easy to charge it this afternoon there, but what about tomorrow? So, she got the new cord, which he told her she could return in 30 days for a refund! Mom told him she's probably going to keep it as a spare, though.
So, we're finally able to blog while the phone is charging and the dogs are away. I hope you are having a pleasant day and getting some spring weather, lots of cuddles, and of course, your daily scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Hopefully your temps will get a tad warmer. We are supposed to be warmer today but hopefully don't get into the 80s as mom will be taking skinsis and the grand shopping. She'll remember to wear sandles though as last time she had on socks and shoes and was just too hot when walking around outside in the warmth.

Good to have the day off from helping Nana and skinsis since they both have the VNAs visiting. Hopefully both of them are progressing in their healing and so good that your mom is able to take all their bills so they get paid on time. Must be nice for Nana to get out a bit but why the heck is her mailbox across the street? Gma's was like that but somehow she got 'em to move it to in front of her house.

Got an email from Uncle Chuck with a bit of detail about what happened. It is as suspected and not sure why it'll take a month before Jenny Lynn and the flock will return to BC but glad they will.

Mom'll be out shopping with skinsis and the grand today. Skinsis will be attending a wedding next month and needs a new dress. Not sure if she has something for the grand to wear.

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long, long time. They never get enough of the warm feelings of friendship and love they share and always feel Angel Mario's wings joining in.

  Hi Peepers
Jim made mom a little self-conscious last night. One of the young folks at dinner asked if she was fluent in Italian, and before she could answer, Jim said YES! Then he told the story about one of the times he and mom were in Rome together, and she had a boyfriend she'd met there. He said he overheard mom arguing with him in perfect Italian, and decided then and there he wouldn't let mom bamboozle him into thinking her Italian wasn't good any more. His contention was if you can argue in a foreign language, you have a pretty good command of it.
Mom laughed when he told the story, though, because it happened so long ago, and she had forgotten all about it. She told of both of them singing in the streets late at night, haha.
I hope you are having a good day and getting lots of scritches and cuddles, along with noisy Celine! Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Too cold to go outside? We are supposed to get even warmer by the end of the week. We think 80s is too high for spring. Yesterday was nice and cool as temps were not quite 70. Wish we'd get some rain.

Sounds like skinsis is gonna need to answer her phone even if she doesn't recognzie the number. The VNA or docs need to be able to get in touch with her. Glad your mom was persistent and found out what was going on. Gonna be tough with all those stairs if your mom has to carry anything. So, is skinsis staying at her apartment to recover? We can't blame her for wanting to be independent and hopefully will heal quickly without too much discomfort.

Hmmmm, not sure what has happened to Jenny Lynn. We had a blog from her yesterday morning. Mom saw it just before she left for work but now it is gone. Don't see blogs from the previous day either. Not sure if a BC error or possible pages deleted on accident? Hopefully all is well with her, the flock and Uncle Chuck.

  Hi Peepers
Wow, the wind must have been blowing in the right direction, the sheets smelled good when mom brought them inside.
We don't hang anything out any more, mom just tosses it all into the dryer.
Today mom cleaned and fed the bats again. I know, old story. After she finished with them, she went in to the kitchen area to help label and sort the baby shower donations. All the food items need expiration dates in sharpie so everyone can see them. She dated as many cans and jars as she could, put away paper towels, toilet tissue (used for baby bird nests), latex gloves, and garbage bags as well. There seem to be a lot more donations this year.
Tonight mom will be going to dinner with a friend of hers from NY city. He's in town for a few days, and mom hasn't seen him for about a year now. It will be good to catch up. Mom thinks he retired this year, he taught Italian at the Fashion Institute for many years.
I hope you are having a good day and getting some good weather, as well as lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Weather must be getting more springlike if able to hang the sheets outside and for Dixie to get a sunbath. About time since you've been so cold and damp for such a long time. We got warmer yesterday but not bad since there continues to be a cool breeze.

That is good that skinsis is home from the hospital. Would think she'll need to heal a bit and regain her strength before she can resume her normal activities. No need to rush but certain the VNA will help advise her. Getting good rest at night will help her feel better quickly. We know you are ready to provide much needed 'tiel therapy to your skinsis.

  Hi Peepers
Mom's spare key was in the glove box because it doesn't work in the ignition any more. She washed it accidentally, and the electronics don't function, so it won't work the remote or the ignition. The guy who came and broke into the car told her to either get a blank key that will just unlock the door, or keep the spare in her bag just for unlocking the door if it ever happens again.
Well, another good milonga last night! The flowers in the gardens were beautiful, the pond looked lovely, especially after dark, Queen Booboo kept everyone entertained with daquiris and light up shoes, food was great (thanks, Kaji and Lizzie), Chyna sang so well, and thanks to Kiddo for arranging the whole thing! We had a good time.
For anyone who wasn't there, mom locked her keys in the trunk of her car after the baby shower event. They were some of the last people to arrive back at the center, even though they were the closest to the place. They got 3 people throughout the afternoon, but some donations came to the site before the shower, so they had a box full of items to carry back. Also, 2 of the people who came brought a lot of things, and one brought money from her neighbor, too, so it was pretty successful, even though mom sat reading a book most of the afternoon. Twitch had a pretty easy day, he slept most of the day away.
Just for clarification, we want to let you know that baby rehab patients do NOT go to these events. Only our education ambassadors are shown in public, never patients or orphan babies. It would stress them too much.
Today should be uneventful, mom has a day off and doesn't even have any errands. I think she'll be out in the yard starting cleanup, though, but we'll have her the rest of the time. Hope you are having a beautiful spring day, we sure are. I hope also that you are getting lots of cuddles and scritches today. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Great to see you and the flock at the Milonga last night. Glad there was a minimum of errors since it does tend to happen when so many birds are in attendance. Probably good there weren't any awards to be posted.

Sounds like your area in inching towards spring as those temps aren't bad eggspecially with some sunshine to make it all look nice. Hopefully your snow/rain is mostly gone for now so plants and flowers can bloom.

Good your dad was able to help your mom at Nana's. Makes things go much faster when two are on the job. Think that is key your mom just needs to do a lil bit each day so doesn't wear herself out. At least they will know eggactly what kinda safety devices they need for skinsis since similar or same as Nana's. Hopefully she'll be able to return home soon and know she's more than ready for some of Peepers 'tiel therapy.

  Hi, Peepers
Poor Dixie must be missing his bird warmer since temps are still cold there. Hopefully the new one will arrive quickly. We are a tad warmer here with temps going into the very low 70s. Think we'll be in the same range for awhile so it is nicely spring for us with continued winds to keep the air clean.

Sounds like Nana did fine accompanying your mom on the errands and know she must enjoy getting out again. Good thing not snowy or icy out so less risk of slipping but good to use the walker instead of the cane for eggstra support.

Okay, can certainly understand about not wanting any eggs from Celine and Kallie and producing any offspring. Of course she might still lay some and hopefully both of 'em are calming down and adjusting to being in the different areas of the house.

Think some folk enjoy living a bit more rural but that also means more difficulty when things arise like the drought. Still, if our ancestors coped they will too.

Your mom should just take her time in helping everyone. There is no rush to finish any chores all in one day. Just do what she can so doesn't wear herself out or get sick. We know once skinsis can come home it'll be easier as one less worry when so far away.

The three 'tiels all open their wings up for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight. Nothing can beat their shared friendship as they feel Angel Mario's wings surround them and the love, joy and happiness abound.

  Hi Peepers
Mom and Aunt Renee went to a local restaurant where mom had a Cajun shrimp and sausage dinner. It was really good, they served it over linguine in a spicy sauce.
Today it was raining again, and we had some pretty strong storms pass through here last night. Daisy kept waking mom with her pacing and whining.
There's lots of good news at the center today! The gas is back on, so dishes and laundry can be done on site and without hot plates to heat water. They also got 2 new quail babies who arrived this morning. They are really cute! There will be an online naming contest for them. They are little males. Eyetique left samples of glasses cleaner and little cleaning cloths for the volunteers, which was very nice of them.
Mom did the recovery room today and had to throw out all of yesterday's turtle food. Whoever did the room yesterday put tomatoes in their dishes, which causes gout in turtles. So mom had to make up new food dishes for them.
Tomorrow is the annual Baby Shower for the wildlife babies. Mom will be taking Twitchie the squirrel to a local business and staying with him for 4 hours, hoping that lots of people come in and bring supplies or cash for the wildlife babies who are starting to arrive. There are lots of new bunnies and squirrels already.
I hope you are having a fine spring day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
After the rain it is remaining cool here (below 70) and windy though still sunny. Hopefully you'll get more spring soon but at least no more snow, right?

How wonderful for the family to video chat with skinsis and can see for themselves she's doing fine. Good she got up and tried to walk some even if couldn't do much just yet. We imagine everyday will get easier.

That is so awesome that Drs. Foster & Smith will replace the broken bird warmer. We fully understand about having to pay for it until they receive the broken one and that only have to pay for the shipping back and taxes.

Gosh, why are Kallie and Celine so vocal with each other? Maybe they will calm down today if they just don't see each other and can't hear the other calling.

Yeah, some areas of CA are harder hit since they are more remote locales. Would be very tough to have to haul water for everything but that's how the early settlers did it as there was no water or sewer system back then.

We will remind Dixie about the pic but no rush as we haven't decided which one to request yet anyway. (Those other songs we posted on NTT might be album cuts but fit the requirements so might not be well known unless a fan of the singer/group.)

The three 'tiels all open their wings wide for a big group 'tiel wing hug and hold on tight for a long time sending all their best wishes to skinsis to heal quickly so can return home and recuperate with lots of Peepers 'tiel therapy.

  Hi Peepers
We are still praying for her recovery. I think mom should go to Nana's to video chat with her tonight, it will make mom feel so much better to see her, and may help Shiloh see how much she's loved and missed. It has to be really hard for her to be so far away.
BC sure is acting crazy. Hope if you are having problems that you are writing or directly to Crystal at
I hope it all gets straightened out by milonga time.
Today it started out rainy and gloomy, but by the time mom got done at the museum, it was 70 and sunny. She walked the dogs after she got home from her 2 tours, and was very glad that she didn't walk them in the rain earlier.
The 2 tours were with Montessori classes, and mom was impressed with their knowledge. The first group was Kindergarten, and they actually were pretty well behaved. They also knew a lot about observing animals, did well identifying characteristics that allow them to live where they do. Mom always asks silly questions, like Does a beaver wear a raincoat? These kids were good at those.
The second group was combined first and second grades an they did a biomes tour! They were quite knowledgeable about biomes, and used scientific words, like mollusks, invertebrates, etc. It just shows that kids live up to the teacher's expectations. The second tour was over quickly, because the time just flew!
Anyway, mom is home for awhile, then she and her sis will go out for dinner before she's ours for the night.
I hope you are having a good day, getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Such a relief to hear that skinsis arrived at that faraway hospital and is recovering from the surgery. We imagine your mom misses being able to be there with her but so good to be able to talk with her, hear her voice and hopefully she'll be able to come home soon. Our wings continue to be crossed for her.

Hopefully Kallie will stay off the top of your and Celine's shared birdhouse. Certainly don't need the two of you feeling scared by him (or possibly getting pooped on).

Our rain is over though the cooler temps and windiness have remained. Still sunny though so it look nicely spring.

We flew over to NTT yesterday. Didn't know any of them foreign titled songs! Probably recognize some if hear the music. Anyway, we posted a few lyrics of our own for foreign titled songs we do know! Oh, and we shared in the theme win? Well, we'll check Dixie's page later and let you know which pic we would like, but no hurry on making it since know your mom doesn't have a lot of free time.

  Hi Peepers
We are keeping Shiloh in our prayers today and hope all goes well for her.
There's not much going on here. We don't have any flowers except crocuses in bloom in our yard, but as mom was walking the dogs this morning, she saw hyacinths, grape hyacinths, daffodils, and even some tulips in bloom. We have what mom calls a microclimate zone here, since we are close to the woods. Our flowers are a week or so behind the rest of the neighborhood. It's okay, though, it means mom and the dogs get to enjoy flowers twice as long, since they can see the other yards, too.
Mom will do some shopping today, but other than that, we have her for the rest of the time. I hope you are having a wonderful spring day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Willie
