How my tiel and I got together was just a miracle. I had lost my first tiel in 98 and was hoping one would drop on my doorstep and in 2002 we were supposed to babysit him for his previous mommy and she passed away and her friend asked if we would keep him for our own. I was so happy! cause I needed a tiel to fill the hole my first tiel left. Of course my peach fronted conure arrived the day after he died but it was only a tiel that could fill up that hole. I love my conure because she makes me laugh and keeps me happy. I was even happier when Peepers came to fill that void, the void needed by another tiel. I became the owner when my mom asked me if I wanted to keep him and I was like heck ya, I love this tiel so much! I heard his previous mommy wanted to make sure he was in a loving home before she died and he sure is!.

nutraberries,pa- sta,animal crackers,apple peels,

i like to hang out on the playpen with my 4 conure brothers/sister- s and my pesky lutino brother and on my mommys shoulder.

I dont like showers but mommy makes me go with her but hey at least im a clean boy!, when my brother Mario steals MY perch(Lutino Cockatiel),when i gotta be stuck in the cage when mommy goes to work cuz i like to hop onto the floor because she doesnt want me getting hurt,

I love my mommy cuz she takes real good care of me and gives me lots of loves, she says im a special boy cuz i eat with my foot like a parrot she takes me on car rides, walks on my neat neon yellow harness and leash which i hate but wearing that leash means going out so i gotta be a good boy for mommy and wear it,she likes to snuggle with me and i with her. for my birthday she makes me a special birdie cake topped with seeds cuz i only get pellets for my meals cuz she thinks pellets are alot more healthier for me than seeds and they taste good too! the fruity ones are my fave! im just soo happy she adopted me cuz im happy that i found her and made her soo happy again! me being left at her house was a miracle to her and to me too cuz i have 5 brothers/sister- s for company when mommy goes to work.

i like to eat with my foot like a parrot mommy thinks its soo COOL when i do that,I like to hold my foot up when i sing and she thinks thats soo CUTE!, mommy taught me to play dead, i just lay on my back in the palm of her hand real still she thinks thats soo Cute as well and hopping on the floor and going for a run catch me if u can cuz my little pink tiel legs can move!.

  Hi Peepers
Mom remembered she has another Ott light in her trunk, but I think it's too big to put on my cage. She bought it for the sewing room.
Yesterday after mom did some of that yard cleanup, she played with us and did a light cleaning of the cages. Today is a major scrub down, though, so we will all have to rearrange our stuff after she's done. Falco didn't stay with mom for long yesterday, she was more interested in cuddling with the rope wreath on top of her cage. I won the prize for being the most clingy yesterday. I stayed with mom a long time, trying to decorate her tee by making it lacy, then trying out her shirt buttons, too. I preened her hair for awhile then got bored and went back to my pinata. Peppino is being shy again, so mom isn't forcing him to come with her, but because of past experience, she knows he'll be with her before long. We are all thinking that Bree will be by to trim our nails before long, at least that's what mom is saying.
I hope you are having a great day and getting lots of scritchies and cuddles. Hugs, Willie

Come visit me, Gizmo, I miss you, sweet boy, Willie, Congrats to Kaji!, Peppino, Divo & Falco.

  Hi, Peepers
Such a busy day for your mom and the gals. Sounds like if still Dixie isn't noticed at Zumba that if he ever is then it won't matter since he's attended so many and never a bother. Not like he's in the way or anything. He must enjoy the music.

We are rarely allowed on shoulders so less opportunity to play with earrings. Mom long ago stopped wearing any necklaces due to us wanting to peck at 'em, heehee.

So cute to see the sunnie and green cheek playing together and hope they go to a good home soon. Heard that some conures do hang upside down and on their backs but guess your flock doesn't? We'd never do that! Hate to be placed on our backs, yuck!

Yeah, think there was a BC glitch on Wed morning as it took us three tries to get on. Got the error page but it was fine once we actually got on. Don't think it took longer than a few minutes for us, whew!

It is a mystery about the email though. Good thing being able to reply works.

Keep warm, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
Yesterday my lamp went out in the middle of the day. Mom looked at it, changed the bulb, which didn't fix the problem, then unplugged it. She looked more carefully and it looked like I had chewed a piece of the cord, so she took it to be repaired today. The guy at the store thinks the tiny hole in the cord wouldn't have caused a problem so they will keep it and see what's wrong. While she was out, mom got new branch loppers today, because she can't find the ones she thought were here. Of course, we all know what will happen, right? As soon as she starts using the new ones, the old ones will show up. Well, so far, that hasn't happened. She used the new ones to chop down some rose branches that were too close to the mailbox, as well as a weed bush growing on the end of the yard. Then she got the hedge choppers and cut down some of the peony bushes. She took down the fountain, cleaned it and put it away for the winter. Then she put out the scarecrows and pumpkins. So far, no old branch loppers have made an appearance. She came inside because it got too damp and chilly to keep working out there. Now mom is ours for the rest of the day.
I hope you are having a good day today, getting lots of love and cuddles. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Back so sunny weather for us but temps stayed down. Was barely 70 here yesterday and breezy, very nice for fall. Hopefully those downpours aren't too constant while your mom is out and about with Dixie. While we imagine Dixie isn't fond of taking the meds good that it'll clear up that infection. Always yummy to have pasta.

Would be good to have some frozen meals in the freezer. Our mom made some chicken noodle soup the other day since dad was cold. Think she needs to get a ham bone soon.

Yeah, sometimes it isn't just things on the top but things near the top that are pushed to the back and can't reach. Have to find someone to help but sometimes if it happens to mom will tell the cashier what she wants and someone will have to get it then when unable to find someone nearby.

Jeans generally come in short, average or tall lengths (for women) but hard to find the short and for skinsis could still be too long.

Thanks for the recipe. Mom will add that to her puter cookbook and make it one day. Only received the email from the reply from the one our mom sent yours. Not sure why your mom can't just send one on her own.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
Mom didn't take offense, it's only just kids talking, and there has always been a rivalry between Pitt and WVU. For most of these kids, it was their first time at the Carnegie museum, so it was a pretty special trip, even though Pitt was just across the street! Mom bets most of them didn't know that.
Maybe mom should avoid all the games, the Steelers WON! Yay!
Today is a pretty lazy day for all of us. Mom got her nails done, then came home to be with us. She carried in the African violets a while back because of the weather, so today she's closing the fountain, bringing in the rest of the house plants, and maybe planting the amaryllis and paper whites her friend left for her. There is still a Boston fern outside, as well as a succulent dish garden. We hope they have both survived the chilly nights lately. If not, well, there's always the nursery next year.
I hope you are having a good day today, and getting lots of sun, cuddles, and kisses. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Wow, sounds like getting ready for the cold weather there with the outside stuff all being put inside or in storage. It didn't really rain here yesterday, sorta sprinkled but maybe later in the week we'll get some real rain. Let's hope skinbro gets that job. Good he has eggsperience in that field as they wouldn't have to train him from scratch.

Thought mom remembered that they ate those Pepperidge farm cakes still a tad frozen. Mostly they didn't wanna wait for it to thaw all the way but think it holds up better too.

Sounds like your mom will need to make stew, casserole or something of that nature to lure the skinsibs over for Sun dinner. It is always good to have a meal with the family and can catch up with all the news.

Good to give Dixie relief from standing and know he and your mom both enjoy having him cuddling with her.

Skinsis knows that many people would see her with the baby and think she's a teen mom but usually when she's out with the baby it is with new hubby and he definitely can't be mistaken for a teen.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

PS: We'll send an email to your mom later today.

  Hi Peepers
Yesterday, mom led 2 anthropology tours at the museum. Both were with college students from West Virginia University. Mom's first question to both groups was how many were hung over? WVU won their football game on Saturday, so there was some celebrating going on. She had fun with the college students, and both groups covered 3 desert cultures, Ancient Egypt, Inuits in Northern Canada from about 100 years ago, and modern Hopi Native Americans. The second group was more engaged, and seemed to have a better time with it. At the end of the second tour, they asked if mom had been a teacher, so she said yes. They hoped it wasn't at Pitt, to which mom replied that's where she got her Masters. One of the girls said she'd forgive mom for that, because everyone is entitled to a mistake now and again. Mom just laughed and laughed over that.
Today at the center, mom cleaned the RVS room and the squirrel porch. It was funny on the squirrel porch, there were 3 fox squirrels, including the one she fostered, 6 red squirrels, and about a dozen gray ones. The gray ones were in and out of each other's cages, having a ball. Mom couldn't get an accurate count! Hopefully they were all there.
I hope you are having a wonderful day, full of sunshine, love, and cuddles. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
So many Midwest/east coast birdies report taking in of plants and outside furniture. Getting into the 30s already and it isn't officially winter for another month or so. Our outside furniture is metal so it stays out there but dad'll bring in the cushions eventually. Still in the 50s overnight here so not bad for us.

Oh Mom remembers those Pepperidge farms cakes from her childhood. Such a treat when her mom would buy one but she doesn't get 'em herself as too much for just her and dad to eat.

Is it the cold temps that are making Dixies feet and legs ache so much? So good he enjoys cuddling with your mom to keep warm and off his feet to rest 'em. No one wants to listen to a fid in distress.

We'll check the email later as mom is off to work soon. Give her a chance to put those cupcake recipes in as well. Still gotta edit the pic and post it.

We would love to have any birdies eggcess rain. Sure wish mother nature would distribute it better.

Skinsis says she often gets 'the look' from customers wondering why a child is working. Other times she'd be asked her age! Always surprising when she tells people she's wayyyyy over the age of 18. Guess when she isn't wearing make up and has her hair in a pony tail and the short and slimness...

  Hi Peepers
The star anise is probably cheaper at the health food store or a tea store than it was at the bird store. It was (I think) $12 per pound. Mom got .3lbs, and paid nearly $4 for that. The basil flowers are free, though, because they grow out front at least until frost. Mom was wondering about thyme, we have a lot of it, too.
The opera gala last night was wonderful, too bad it couldn't have lasted longer. Mom did hear lots of arias, duets, and ensembles that she loves, and they did a bit of operetta as well.
Mom's tour with college students turned out to be fun yesterday, and they wanted Dinosaur hall, which she loves. Today mom has 2 tours at the museum with West Virginia University students. Do you think she's trying to avoid the football game? I sure do. She got very upset with the team's loss last week, even though she didn't see the game.
I hope you are having a good day, lots of sun and warmer temps than we have here. Get lots of scritchies and cuddles today. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
What great news that Dixie is on the mend. Not surprising he has to complete the meds to ensure no germs are left and the eye is fully healed. Guess good of the vets to leave the parking in the front of the building open for those bringing their pets in for appointments.

If your mom is able to send the recipe via email that would make it easier to put into her recipe book on the puter. Still has to add the cupcake ones from skinsis. Gotta post a pic of the cupcakes as they are very cute.

We don't have many plants in planters anyway. Almost all are in the ground.

Still no rain. Temps staying in the 70s. Weather geeks promise tomorrow we should get rain. We'll see.

Yeah, there's a round of shots for older kids too. Think one for incoming middle school age and different one for the high schoolers. Around here know that a kid can't start classes without 'em.

Skinsis is about 4'9" and new hubby is 6'3" and she was wearing heels in the pic. She says people see her height and still often think she's a teen since she's very youthful being so slim but better than being mistaken for being 12!

  Hi Peepers
I hope you like both of them, they both make your breath smell so sweet! Mom likes when I eat them.
Today mom has a tour at the museum at 2, and the group has grown. She is not sure how many will be on the tour, because up until yesterday her boss at the museum was still asking for more docents.
Tonight it is opening night at the opera, and they're doing something different. This year, they are doing a gala affair, with excerpts from various operas, choruses and whole scenes. Mom thinks it's because it will be cheaper than putting on an opera. That means the season is cut to 4 performances and tonight's gala, instead of the 5 they normally do. Aunt Gin and mom are going together, so they will be eating at Pusadee's Garden, a great Thai restaurant on the way to the theater.
I guess that means we'll be in lockdown most of the day. I hope you have better luck, and can get lots of cuddles and love today. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Happy birthday to skinbro. Sounds like the family had a nice meal to celebrate and yummy cake and ice cream too. Hopefully a new job will be a great belated present for him.

We know your mom was very diligent in getting Dixie's meds in him and applying the ointment. Our wings will be crossed that the vet visit finds him on the mend.

Heard of a couple other birds bring plants inside. As you may recall we don't do that here but if weather is forecast to be freezing people are advised to cover their more delicate outdoor plants. Our dad will throw a tarp over our hibiscus as that's really the only one that needs it.

The zucchini pizza sounds like a casserole of sorts. Might have to try that one day. Thanks for the recipe.

At mom's work the candy was 50% off otherwise is as you say just too eggspensive. Mom gotten to the point that she buys 10 bags or no more than $20 worth and if runs out then just turns off lights and goes inside. Will quit by 8:30-9 as that is late enough for kids to be out.

Mom babysat the grand yesterday afternoon as skinsis had to teach a class. That morning she'd gotten a couple of shots - one in each leg, yikes! Was a tad fussy, but understandable. Guess in a few weeks needs the second round of shots...

  Hi Peepers
I love the star anise, and also basil flowers! Mom grabs them every time she pinches them off the plants and gives them to us. I just grab them out of her hand!
Mom put away most of the stuff from Parrot Palooza. She gave each of us a new toy, and Maxine got a new perch, but the rest of the stuff got put up. I suspect we'll see it a little at a time. Mom was pleased to find greeting cards there with birds, too.
Yesterday after mom planted all the bulbs, the irises, and the rudbeckia, she thought she was done. Later, when she went out to get the mail, she noticed that our neighbor Jeff had left more things to plant on the shelf by the door! It was all indoor stuff, though, 2 amaryllis bulbs and some narcissus.
Today at the center, mom went into the RVS room and saw a cage standing open. She went to get Bree, and they looked all over the room for the missing raccoon. They couldn't find him, so mom took his chart to the front, entered today as his self release day into the computer, and put the chart in a drawer for filing. She then helped a new person catch a squirrel who had gotten loose. When she went back to the RVS room the raccoon was on the bank of cages staring at her! She got Bree, and the two of them captured the little bugger and put him in a carrier until his cage was done. Mom put a carabiner on the cage to prevent him from opening it again. There were other raccoons and a bat in there today, so it took the rest of her time to clean them, feed them, and finally she emptied the dryer, reloaded it, loaded up the washer, and started a load. Now she's ours for the day! I think she's still catching up with some reading on the Nook, before she starts another real book. Tomorrow is the museum, the opera, and dinner out, so we have to take advantage of today.
I hope you are having a fine fall day, not too cold and rainy. I also hope you are getting lots of scritchies and kisses today. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Still no rain for us but it is in the forecast again for the next couple of days. Hopefully we'll get some. Gosh, your weather changed so quickly with the darkness and cold when the rain began. Not fun to drive in those conditions.

Our mom's used zucchini on pizza before too. Has to slice 'em super thin so they aren't too watery. Same with mushrooms.

That's awesome the birds there use the birdhouses. We have had a couple set up in our yard (dad made out of scrap wood) but never sure if any birds ever set up housekeeping or not. Think once or twice it was used. Essential in your area to have those shelters since it gets so much colder.

Never counted the number of trick or treaters. Mom just buys 10-11 bags and if runs out then that's that. She checks for sales and there's usually coupons and tries not to spend more than $20 altogether. This year she had some reward $$ and used that on the candy so spent a lot less for the same amount of bags.

More places are getting the touchscreen registers and most have the scanners so everything is much quicker.

Very annoying when neighbors dogs bark during the day due to loneliness. Always wonder if furball does that but no one ever complained.

  Hi, Peepers
No rain for us yesterday. Temps stayed cool and windy. Still sunny, but not overly bright. Maybe we'll get some rain today or tomorrow or the next day. Glad your mom, skinsis and Nana had to good weather for all their errands.

Mom saw an article asking the question at what age should kids give up trick or treating? Some think teens are too old. As far as mom is concerned if they come in costume and behave no problem with teens going trick or treating. Many are escorting younger sibs but around here the majority of 'em are going to parties instead. At least that's what skinsis did once she was high school age. Still, the parronts sit outside by the iron fence and no one goes near the front door to disturb us sleeping 'tiels by ringing the bell.

The registers are more streamlined and touchscreen so much easier than when mom started. Basically if just read the choices not too hard. The trainer will have a checklist of things newbies must learn so don't forget to teach 'em everything.

Yes, the grand loves to be held. When she fell asleep mom put her down on her playmat and was fine (mom was watching) until furball saw another dog out the front door and started barking and that woke baby up.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
We have been having so much fun sampling all the goodies mom brought back. The store allows you to take samples of the foods, limited, of course. Mom brought back 12, six from Friday and 6 from Saturday, heehee. She got dried raspberries, cranberries, cherries, strawberries, a mix of dried veggies, some other Goldenfeast types to try (which we love), and this stuff called herb salad, which is a mix of dried greens. She also bought some star anise and chamomile flowers for us. I love the anise, and Peppino is chowing down on the herb salad and chamomile. We think mom will be making a goldenfeast order soon, so we can have some others to sample. We love the Madagascar mix, but there are others to try! Hope you are having a wonderful day, my friend, and getting lots of cuddles and scritchies. Hugs, Willie

  Hi Peepers
A lot of what mom got were food samples, and surprise! Falco even ate a cranberry. Aunt Jane gave it to her. Of course when mom went to give her another one yesterday, she turned up her beak at it. She got new perches for some of us, too, and a rope perch for the Wingabago.
Mom spent the day yesterday doing laundry and playing catch up with chores. It was good for us, she was here all day, except when she went to the store and bought us fresh fruits and veggies. Today I think she'll be planting the things that were shared with her at the Palooza. Aunts Donna and Robin both gave her plants to keep her busy, and our neighbor gave her a bunch of tulip bulbs before she left, so she has some digging to do, if the weather doesn't turn nasty.
The gathering in New Jersey and at the Sheraton went far too quickly. I have to share a story about my idiot mom: she put her buttons of us in her suitcase inside a zippered compartment in the very front, and put the camera in the corresponding compartment on the other side. When she got to the hotel she thought she emptied the suitcase, and had forgotten to pack the buttons and the camera, so went all weekend without them. She found them on Monday when she got home! Good thing the phone had a camera in it!
I hope you are having a good day and getting lots of loving attention. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Temps here dropped yesterday but the eggstra wind made it feel a tad cooler since there was less sun. Supposed to be bringing rain but haven't seen any in our area yet.

Having one's wedding pics delivered after 20 years must've been a nice way to remember their special day. Have to wonder if they'd given up on ever seeing 'em. Our dad found a box of photos the other day and had fun searching 'em and recalling what was going on back then when skinsis was a lil kid.

Well, maybe your dad will get one of the fire pits one day since the family does enjoy the BBQing. Our parronts don't BBQ that much but even they would enjoy having the warmth to sit outside on cool evenings.

Most newbies will learn the register first so best if they aren't rushed with that. It isn't that hard but for a worker who has never used a register they have more to learn. Any who have cashiered at other jobs pick it up quickly.

Mom got to visit with the grand yesterday after work. Skinsis is very behind on laundry and the dishes. Think she got a bit more caught up while mom watched or held the baby.

  Hi Peepers
We love all your Halloween pics! I feel so out of touch, with BC being down and mom being away when it was fixed. I hope Dixie is feeling better. Chelsea lived way longer than possums do in the wild, she was over 3 years old, and outside, they are lucky to live 2 years.
Last week Aunt Jane drove here from Michigan and picked up mom and off they went! Bree stayed with us and did a great job.
Now mom is back from New Jersey and Parrot Palooza. She had a great time, meeting all the bird moms and having a lot of time to visit and talk with them, although at times, it was kind of like the milonga, she couldn't get a word in edgewise, heehee. It was super to see a lot of the folks we just talk with online. The only thing that would have made it better would have been for us parrots to go to Parrot Palooza!
Mom carried a bag with parrots painted on it, and wore all her parrot jewelry. They shopped on Friday and more on Saturday. They saw a parrot show on Saturday, mom won a prize in one of the penguin races, and made a toy for us as well. Sunday was a quieter day. Aunts Donna and Therese invited everyone for brunch, and they made a day of it, visiting and talking, then went out to dinner together, too. Sheesh, you'd think they'd have had enough, right? But no, mom loved every minute of it, and wished it could have lasted longer.
In Falco's pics you can see the loot. It took mom 3 pics! The one with the bird mom tee is Aunt Jane's pile, the other 2 piles are ours. The other pics show a sign welcoming BC people to the Palooza (WOW) and a group shot in back of the sign. On my page are a Java tree stand with carved parrots on it, a different group shot, and mom with a Moluccan 'too named Pearl. On Peppino's page there are some pics of Aunts Therese, Eva, and Donna; Robin, Jane, Deb, and Eva; and Cindy with her new tiel. She is also getting a new timneh grey, but mom didn't get a good shot of Myles. Hope you love the pics. I also hope you are having a fantastic day today, and getting lots of hugs and kisses. Hugs, Willie

Come visit me, Gizmo, I miss you, sweet boy, Willie, Congrats to Kaji!, Peppino, Divo & Falco.

  Hi, Peepers
Skinsis says that new hubby's gpa took pics at a relative's wedding years ago (before digital) and promptly misplaced the negatives. Apparently as that couple's 20th (!) wedding anniversary approached the gpa looked around and finally found the pics and got 'em their wedding pics! 20 years!! At least with digital can download immediately and will be on the puter, right? Less chance of a long delay.

Oh, that is a good thought to keep any messes outside and if drop stuff the wild critters will have a snack. Think they do make those outdoor electric lamps for cool nights of sitting outside. The parronts attended a party (wasn't that cold, but got windy) and they had the propane type ones at the tables and it helped send out some warmth.

Will be nice if you have some warmer temps. It will probably still get cold at night though so good thing your mom has the heat at the ready.

The early seasonal workers do have the eggstra time to learn as it isn't as busy yet so can start out a lil slower. There was a group of newbies yesterday and should begin training soon.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi, Peepers
Having an outdoor wedding is always beautiful but always have to hope weather cooperates. Although mom had her camera she just isn't used to going around and taking pics. Hasn't looked at the few she did take yet since she was at work but dad downloaded his and got 'em on a disc for skinsis. Mom looked at 'em briefly and will see if any are worthy of posting on BC.

Okay, if the temps are too cool outside for the fids one would think the family would know not to sit outside and eat the BBQ, heehee. However, having BBQ one does just wanna eat outside. At least it was sunny as that always is nice no matter what the temps are. Got warmer again here. Back to the mid 80s when it had been in the 70s. Hopefully it goes down a tad as 80s or higher is just too high for Fall.

Starting to see a few seasonal hires at mom's work. Gonna be doing a lot of training in the weeks to come, but the early ones will be the best as they won't be as rushed to get in the swing of things.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi, Peepers
Have heard that many talkative fids clam up when near strangers or in a strange place but once in a familiar setting or familiar hoomans back to chattering nonstop. Sounds like Bella was quite polite to the Amazon's attentions.

Guess Dixie is just quite used to traveling with your mom and knows to stay snuggled with her. Seen pics of fids hiding inside a parront coat or sweater but we'd never do that.

Weather for the wedding was perfect. The grand wasn't fussy or crying either (was fed and changed right before) and got held by someone the entire time. Still, by the end she was tired and ready to go home. Skinsis cousin did her hair and one of the bridesmaids did her make up. The parronts haven't looked at the pics yet but hopefully some came out and know mom's sis also took some pics.

Both cupcake flavors were tasty and well worth the effort to make.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi, Peepers
Good that Dixie is such a good traveler to accompany your mom on the errands and get all his meds on time. Hopefully the follow up appointment shows he's healing okay.

Probably not surprising your flock was the only birds at the Blessing of the Animals and good opportunity to help educate others about fids. Awwww, the amazon talked to Bella? Did Bella respond at all? Know some Greys can be shy and aloof and others are very animated and vocal.

So good to be back on BC and visiting with our friends again. Hopefully BC is never gone this long again.

Think some cereals just disappear after awhile. New ones replace 'em and not always better flavors either.

So much baking went on around here yesterday. Finished everything but skinsis still has to frost one of set of cupcakes since the frosting is whipped cream based. Fortunately her cousin was arriving last night to help her and also her bridesmaid was coming over early to assist with last minute things too.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi, Peepers
Yippeee! BC is back! We missed everybirdie so much! Now to get caught up on our blogs, let's see, ah, found your last one to us.

Temps went up to the low 90s for us with bad air then dropped back to the 80s and today should be in the 70s. At least it is cooler at night. Don't blame your mom for wanting the heat on. Just isn't comfy for ones face and hands to be cold. Doubt us birds like it either since many of us originate in tropical climates.

How fun for Dixie to go shopping but know he also had that vet visit. Hopefully the ointment and meds will clear everything up. We shall keep our wings crossed for him.

Really shouldn't have to be a law for headlights to be on during rainy weather. Just makes sense that one would want their vehicle to be seen and would help if all cars slowed down too.

The parronts never liked overly sweet cereal anyway and often mom'll add her own raisins or dried cranberry to those that don't have any fruit.

Farmer's market today and then mom will be helping skinsis make cupcakes for tomorrow's wedding.

Keep warm, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi Peepers
We are praying for Dixie and hope he is okay.
We have some sad news today. Yesterday Chelsea Possum had to be put down because of her rapidly declining health. She started going downhill literally overnight. The staff took her to the vets at the league who said she had numerous tumors, from her brain to her mammaries. She was showing signs of neurological damage, not able to hold her head up, etc. So Bree decided that, rather than let her live in pain, she should put her to sleep. It was a very difficult decision, but mom says it was the right one for Chelsea, who was always such a good girl. The hard truth is that she lived a lot longer than any other possum who has been an education animal at the center. She was about 3 1/2 years old, and they usually live in the wild for about 2 years. Mom will really miss her, she was the best ever!
On another note, mom cleaned the recovery room today. It's another place she hasn't been for awhile, so it was a nice change. There were some pigeons and turtles in there today, including a small snapping turtle. After she finished with the animals, she helped with laundry and did some filing in the office. It was a pretty easy morning, now that the place is emptying out.
Nothing much to do today, I think mom will be doing laundry here, so we'll have her attention for most of the day. Hope you are having a great day and getting lots of cuddles and maybe even some sun. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
Skinsis says baby has a definite personality. Can tell mood by what eggspression on her face. Can always tell when the grand is gearing up to fuss and cry. Hopefully she'll won't be too fussy during the wedding. Skinsis was kinda shy when she initially went to preschool and then kindergarten but wasn't overly clingy when being dropped off and made friends quickly.

Further warm up yesterday. Reached uppper 80s and today is supposed to get into the low 90s, yikes! Other areas will probably hit the dreaded triple digits. Crazy! It's fall! Should be lots cooler. Sure wish our weather could be blended to give you some sun and warmth and us a lower temps. The family feels like going bonkers if they don't see the sun near every day.

Isn't there a law about having headlights on when raining? CA has had that for several years though new drivers should just be taught that anyway.

We love all cereal. The parronts don't buy the sugary types so most are safe for us to sample. The flake type are our favorites.

Oh, we hope that there's nothing seriously wrong with Dixie. We'll keep our wings crossed for him.

BC has been slow for us too but fortunately still haven't been squawked or gotten the error.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Peepers
It's awful walking in to a cold store out of the cool rain. Poor mom and company. Thanks so much for the pics, we really love them. It's so kind of your mom to think of us when she does the pics. Any luck on getting to Parrot Palooza yet? Maybe she and aunt Tanya can ride together, if she can get that far...
Congrats to Kaji on making the 10k Hall of Fame. Thanks to Aunt Rose for our Halloween pics, too. She always comes through for us!
Yesterday Falco had another bath! This morning mom checked her side, after chasing her down for about 10 minutes (gotta keep those humans on their toes), and found she was all healed. She then clipped some primaries which had grown in before putting Falco back in her cage.
Today mom has a tour later, then she's going to PetSmart for some dog stuff, yuck! She says we'll get our stuff after Parrot Palooza. I still don't understand why we parrots don't get to go, though.
I hope you are having a great day and getting lots of cuddles. Hugs, Willie

  Hi, Peepers
That was the most recent pic of the grand taken this week. She's kinda squirmy so hard to get a face front pose. She is a fairly happy baby though skinsis says is still adjusting to waking and finding her mom has left for work.

You have rain and coolish temps? We warmed up yesterday to mid 80s and lots of sun. No fun to drive in the pouring rain eggspecially with puddles that other cars splash onto the windshield. Drivers really need to slow down in those conditions to be safe.

Oh, Dixie had no snacks? We imagine he loved the PB Cheerios. Yesterday we got some wheat chex. Mom placed it in our bowl on the bottom of the birdhouse. We raced each other to get there to munch on it. So yummy.

BC was a tad slow yesterday morning as well. No squawking or error page for us but mom was glad it was her day off to have plenty of time to send out the blogs.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi Peepers
Mom loves all the Halloween pics you sent, but it's the same problem, she is a dunce when it comes to the computer, and she can't move them. Maybe because it's a zip file?? We don't know but we do know she didn't have a problem with Falco's cowgirl pic, it loaded right up.
Today mom is having problems with BC, so we might not get all our notes done, but we're gonna try. We kept getting that cycling thing, then either the squawkatiels or the error404 page. After a meeting at the museum this morning, mom came home to spend some time with us, but has been having trouble with BC.
The vet called this morning to check on Falco, can you believe that? She really impressed mom by doing that, we've never had anyone do that before. After that, the cleaning lady came, and mom was not expecting her, so the house was a little more cluttered than she's used to, but it's okay, she got the job done while mom attended that meeting. Tonight she's meeting Aunt Ginny for dinner, and going to her house to make a copy of her medicare card so she can change insurance coverage. She decided to go with the state retired teachers' insurance instead of Highmark, since it offers the same thing for much less cash.
Tomorrow, we don't know what's on the schedule yet, but I suspect mom will be digging up lilies, if the weather holds. It's time to thin the herd, so to speak. I hope you are having a good day today and getting some sunshine and love. Hugs, Willie

Come visit me, Gizmo, I miss you, sweet boy, Willie, Congrats to Kaji!, Peppino, Divo & Falco.
