These two doves I used to have kept having babies and then attacking them too early and kicking them out of the nest to have more babies. After finding them cowering under the feed table, cotton being a little beat up, I took them out and handraised them in an old cockatiel cage. I had to take the babies on holiday with me so I'm glad I took them to a pet friendly motel. They wandered and got quite tame although now they live in the aviary and enjoy each others company. They are sisters and have never been separated..

Active within 785 Days Hi! My name is Cotton/Peewee I am from New Zealand, Intl. Fluff/teeny 7 years old F Softfood mixed with finely grated carrots, apples and pears, millet We sleep on a perch right next to the sleepout window(aviary is right next to the building). We sit on Rainbows old perch with Guy the budgie during the day.And we take over the cockatiel swing when we feel cheeky. Much to our delight!!! Birds flying above our aviary. Cats. Planes. Baby Cockatiels taking our favourite treats. But we love them all. We are the subject of most of her paintings and she brings us millet and softfood and on occasion some chopped up berries after having our photos taken I love when doves sunbathe and have rain showers. They twist at rediculous angles. They bathe in seeds and make a big mess. Also everytime they land cotton does a really slow sarcastic sounding laugh and then peewee does a quick giggle. Another of cottons weird habits= making angry hooting noises when flying. A bit more effort goes into flying for her because the muscle in one wing was injured as a baby. She is quite alright however.. Laughing makes the world go round.

Hi Cotton/Peewee Thank you for stopping by. Hope you had a lovely xmas. Ours was sad, poor little Flapper passed away on the 23rd. Mum came home on the tues night and found her very quiet in her cage. She wouldn't eat and drank only a little. Mum nursed her all night but she got no better. Dad was to take her to the vet the next day but she didn't make it. She passed over in her daddy's arms, so she wasn't alone. We miss her very much. Dad buried her in the front garden and marked it with a little stone. We're not sure what happened, the other birds are fine so we think it must have been her time. All of my pets are used to the syringe, my hy, my grey, my blue crowned conure, and my queen of bavarian they all fancy a warm meal bfore bedtime. I have a male blue and gold that used to be wild,when he had his female, which I lost this past summer, when i brought her in cuz she stopped laying eggs, and they stopped copulating, make the story short, the hospital and its incompetent staff force fed her, by gavae, and she was killed by aspiration. I had the autopsy necropsy performed in Georgia U.S.A. brandon Richie dr. top pathologist. Well I took Bad Boy out of his room, and he lives free with us in our t.v. room. He would not take syringe, however he gladly laps down his pablum formula with a spoon. Try with a spoon, go easy and slowly, every day a little more. These guys are very curious and you can easily gain their trust, especially if food is involved. Blue I got when she was very young, most of my birds I got when they were babies, and I did not change much. Blue will gladly accept the syringe, I do give her every time I have left over from feeding the babies, she has not forgotten, so long as you give her the syringe every so often, they ll rememeber.
