Good Morning
i am happy to say that the storms were way up NORTH in the Jacksonville area, several hundred miles from us. We're almost in the middle of Florida, abot 45 minutes from Tampa, an hour from the gulf. and WEST towards to Orlando, about an hour, and to the ocean, an hour and a half. But we did get some rain which we sure needed badly. This was the second NAMED STORM , and the official start isn't until June 1st. The last time that happened, two Named storms in May, was wayyyyyyyyyyy back in 1908. I think the old guy might remember that hee hee. No not really. That is great that the one fid liked the harness and they are nice for the fids if you can get them into one. Mom said she was going for groceries and when she came home she had this flower she said was a hyacinth and it’s a pretty purple. It had really nice paper on the outside of it and loved the way it made noise but mom took it off. Glad to see you again. The trail is going to be extended so work is being done on it right now and dad has been busy down there working on it too. He said this morning he saw a woman with a bird on her arm and thought at first it might be mom since the bird was green and looked like Gus from further away. When the lady walked by he asked what kind of bird it was and she said a yellow napped Amazon. Its tile floor.Mom was kidding dad today and told him after doing the tile on the kitchen floor she can sing that song “Stuck on you“ and mean it pretty well too LOL. Mom says she wasn’t just stuck with dad but anything they both touched as well when they pulled that old tile off with all that sticky glue on the backside of it. I know they both are glad that part is over with. This morning mom rolled Chi chi cage and all down the hall and pretty soon mom took me there too and we stayed in moms bedroom a long time. Chi chi said they were working on the kitchen floor and didn’t want us around the dirt or the noise. At least mom kept coming in and talking to us and we do go in the bedroom with mom so it wasn’t too bad….I guess. Mom and dad were up early this morning. They ate and pretty soon my cage was rolled back the hall into the bedroom. After awhile Gus came in too in his cage. So there I sat all day with Gus asking me what mom and dad were doing and what all the noise was about and on and on. I told him they were doing the floor and didn’t want us around the dirt and when they were done for the day they would take us back out. Last night dad left me out to gather some paper in my tail feathers and fly around a bit. I decided to sit on Gus play gym and he wasn’t in bed and covered up for the night. He came out and tried to chase me away and I just sat there since I think I am a big bird too. Then he went on his cage and finally came back on the play gym and we beaked each other till dad chased me off Gus play gym..hmpppttt. “Matilda is a mule in the mine. Sorry I didnt look to see and just thought it was Tabooh. Where did Tabooh go and how long has Pebbles lived at your place now? Yes its hard to keep up in the summer and mom misses times too with us as well. Today I was having lots of fun while I was suppose to be eating. I hollered in one bowl and kept talking in it and like the sound it makes. Then I went over to the other food bowl and hollered in it a while. Yes summer sure is busy for everybirdy and hard to blog sometimes. How do you like that coconut hut your in? mom keeps thinking I would like one and then changes her mind cause she dont want me trying to lay eggs or get ideas of them either! It sure has been hot here the last few days and it doesn’t look like any relief soon. This week is suppose to all be in the 90’s and the humidity is even worse here. Punkin here to ask you could support my quest to become the next BOTM. All month I'm sharing flowers we birds CAN EAT
Here's todays flowers:
English Daisy (Bellis perennis) - The flowers have a mildly bitter taste and are most commonly used for their looks than their flavor. The petals are used as a garnish and in salads.
Gladiolus (Gladiolus spp) - Flowers (anthers removed) have a nondescript flavor (taste vaguely like lettuce) but make lovely receptacles for sweet or savory spreads or mousses. Toss individual petals in salads. It can also be cooked like a day lily.
For all you I didn't get to tell yesterday....Bird is doing real good. She's got about 80% use of her right foot as well now. We are so excited about that because she's soon going to be able to go to her new home!!
We had a great day with mom yesterday and get to again today because we're getting some snow flurries today. Mom was looking at one of those coconut toys for me but thought I would try to use it for a nest. Today was a beautiful day here in the burg. Mom was hoping the ducks would be back today. The female duck had something happen to her lower beak and doesn’t have one now and mom got some duck mash so it could eat it but they havent been back since mom bought the mash. Hope the duck is ok. We think they may live on the farm down the road but not sure. When you leave me a vote would you put what number it was so I can get in the 10,000 club? Today dad left early and then pretty soon mom was out the door too. She said she was going to a bird social but I know that bird social didn’t start that early. Also when she got home she had fabric and don’t think they sell that at the bird social. I did see a bag of birdie stuff but nothing for me in it. Looked like food that Chi chi eats. Well, today mom was off again somewhere. When she came home she had chicken for supper and I got the brown paper bag from kfc! Oh man is it a nice bag too and I sure enjoyed playing in it. Chirp Chirp! ~ Hi there, my name is Spirit Cloude (144812), and I am a 5 year old (male) budgie from W. Gardiner Maine. I’m running for March BOTM in honor of my Uncle Maximillian, on page #9042, who tragically passed away last year (2010) on March 14th, at 18 years old. I miss him, and so I’ve decided to dedicate my run to him.

And now a little bit about myself … I am a crazy little blue & white budgie, that my Mama bought from Petco on June 26th, 2005. Mama wanted to give me a hatchdate, since for 5 years we’ve just said it was my “Gotcha Date” because we new that I was a year older by then. So, after about a week of thinking, we decided to have my hatchdate March 16th! My favorite singers are Taylor Swift and Hillary Duff, but my favorite song is “Kiss Me Thru The Phone”, by Soulja Boy Tell ‘em. I also like “Fearless” by Taylor Swift. When a song comes on that I really like, I start to dance and chirp. I’ll walk up and down my perch, rub my bill on it and chirp, chirp, chirp. One time, I learned a tune. It was on the Nintendo 64 and it was a Super Mario game! I learned the tune to one of the courses. Mama also taught me how to make kissie noises once. I couldn’t make them quite the way she can, but I did pretty well!

Little Peeps mom made our pictures. Mom isnt very good at that stuff hihhi, Have a very Merry Christmas too Tabooh and your family and flock also. When mom was cleaning out my cage she took my water bowl out and left the flap open on the cage. I climbed in the hole into my cage and looked around then climbed back out the hole and looked around again. Mom laughed and said I must of thought I was somewhere different each time. Well you have a very nice picture there also. Little Peep did mine and Gus and sure did a great job and we sure appreciated her doing them for us. Mom put some treats in a brown paper bag and tied it shut and then she gave it to me. I attacked it a few times but think they are more fun when you can get inside them and play. Oh Chi chi is a flirt and loves em all but will never settle down to one I dont think. Mom was busy doing womanly chores here all morning. Of course when she was in the hall or out of my vision I would yell for her and she would yell back. You know it’s a birdies job to keep track of the mom and she says I do a great job of it too. Skin sis came for just a bit and her and mom went somewhere but not long and since dad was home I wasn’t in my cage so that was good. “ I love you big, I love you small, I love you anyway at all”. Your sure cute too! The mail man bought some parts for moms sweeper today. Inside was all kinds of great paper and I cheeched real loud and mom let me have it. All I wanted to do was trim some of that paper for her but she said it was already done the way she wanted it. Yes havent seen the bunny since so must of been our friend that got hit. Mom went to the fruit stand and got lots of goodies. She fixed me a big bowl of fruit with it too.
