 I got a frantic knock at my door 1 morning by a neighbour who says his Mom cant take the screaming anymore and had threatened to throw the bird out the window. This being Canada at the end of November ... you get the idea. Now in this guys defense, he rescued this little guy last winter from the street when Alfie was found near death, his feathers where almost completely frozen over. He put the bird on the car heater and cranked it up.... after some of the feathers warmed up the bird began to move and there was this near froze cockatiel. The rescuer has tried valiantly to keep the bird but unfortunatly it wasnt working out. Once I hear his plight he was at my house within about 10 mins. My kudos and thanks the man who saved a bird in the dead of winter, then was strong enough to know Alfie deserved better. Alfie is now in his forever home.. |
