I hope you are enjoying your day!
Mom has been cleaning the oven this morning so we haven't started any cooking yet. She sorta burned a pizza last night and had to get it all cleaned up! It was very sad to see that lovely cheese pizza burned but the other, larger pizza made it so I still got some crust. Mom didn't know if you put one on the bottom shelf of the oven, that the paper pan they come on would burn! It was really stinky and I had to be quickly removed from the room but I made it back out there in time for some pizza crust! I suppose that is the most important part!
Today is the 5th anniversary of me, Mandy, George and Gracie coming to live with mom!! It' a special day for all of us!! We are so very happy here and mom says she can't imagine what life was like before we all showed up! I'm hoping for a cranberry ornage scone to celebrate! I got the corn bread already but a scone would be just lovely!!

Hi Cori
Our weather is awful this weekend, today and tomorrow at least. We have frost warnings for last night and tonight, too! So mom's plans for going to the pool are shot. She has a birthday party for a grand niece and grand nephew today, so she will go to the party, even though they will probably forgo the cookout due to the weather. She has to go get some supplies for the dogs at the pet store, too. Other than that, we'll probably be out in the yard, if it's warm enough, watching mom do more gardening. If it's not warm enough for us, she'll be out there by herself. It's her first days off in weeks, so she's really behind in weeding and maintenance work.

Are your red feathers all over or in just one spot? Remember the famous Alex? He had one red feather on his upper chest. It looked funny cause he was agrey and it was only one feather.

I hope you had a wonderful day. I had a pretty nice day. Mom and the kids went to see Star Trek and really enjoyed it. I am going to have to wait for the DVD since they don't let birds in the theater!!

We know just how your mom feels too. Mom tries everything with both of us and then she sees me toe tapping or one of the other problems I get and gets disgusted but dont ever give up!! Now, here is something that your mom might consider but not sure it is ok for fids. Mom would go for blood work and her liver enzymes would be high so mom started taking milk thistle and when she went for the tests they would be ok but when she didnt take them they would be high. Then she had a gall bladder attack and that is why the liver tests were bad! Once the gall bladder was removed then the liver tests are normal again but mom does know for a fact the milk thistle does work and mom did this for a year or more.
Though we didn’t win the game the Silver Sluggers did a great job today against us and nice they won too. Congratulations Silver Sluggers!! Mom didn’t look very happy this morning and said she had to go to the dentist to get another crown on her one tooth. She hates the shots and grinding the tooth down in the prep of the crown and says it’s the worse part of it all. Mom asked about the tooth beside it since its full of filling also so decided to get it done then too. She said it was a 2 fer 1 but not money wise LOL. Mom will be sore all over for quite a while with the muscle spasms. Those teeth sound like a lot of work and problems to me and my beak is enough of a problem at times LOL. Was only 47 of a high here today so mom got the jeans and sweats back out again and she always gets cold at the dentist too. Hi Cori,
Well, I spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the Kevlar Stadium watching the Silver Sluggers bring it to the WonderWings. It was a very eggciting game. The WW were way ahead in the beginning, but the then the Sluggers turned on the juice and roared in to the lead and won in the end. Both teams played so well it was a pleasure to watch.
Mom is being very careful of her shoulder. She played hookey at Zumba both Wednesday and today. The next class is on Sunday, and she plans to go then. She is ice packing her shoulder on a regular basis to make it feel better. However the important part of this info is that she is staying home and spending more time with yours truly. Now that is a good deal!

DAY 21 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S VACATION TO LEBANON part 2
While we were heading to Lebanon the food service on the plane sucked because they were all packaged food. Plus they only gave us so little food so i was still hungry. It was hard for me to sleep on the plane because the seats were uncomfortable. The only good thing about the planes is that they had tv for me to watch. I took aircanada to get to london. When we arrived in london, we had to wait 3 hours for our next flight. After that we went into the customs then boarded the plane called bmi. When we arrived in Lebanon we went to get our luggage. When we got our luggage i noticed that one of our luggages was missing. We told one of the people that one of our luggages was missing so they wrote down our personal information. They told us that they would call us if they found the luggage. So as we were going outside, we met up with my cousins and my aunts. We were really happy to see them and it was an emotional moment because we haven't seen them in a long time. So we rode the queen taxi and headed to our apartment. While we were in the taxi the airport called my aunt and told her that they found our luggage. We headed back to the airport to get the luggage then went to the apartment. We unpacked our luggages and we stayed up a little then we went to sleep.Come visit me, DJ LUIGI-Vote for me BOTM!!!!!!! & Calypso- THANKS FOR BOTD! Happy Mother's day!.

Congrats to the Quakers for their win yesterday, it was a good game. It's been raining here and this morning it was only 45 degrees when mom walked the dogs! That's quite a contrast with the high 80s it was the other day. I posted a pic of Joe's blue and gold, don't know how he got that special effect, though. Mom loves the pic. Oh, if anyone knows how to get that bird to bathe, we're open, because he's concerned. He's ready to put her and the cage out in the rain! 2 tours today, then off to do an errand or 2. The pool opens tomorrow, but with this weather, mom probably won't even go get the pass yet! They are finding debri many miles away from where it should be. Not uncommons with storms like those. They are finding cars in one neibghborhood that they have no idea where they came from.
The folks were with us on Sunday eggcept when they left me home alone in the house while they took cover ... I will not let them live that one down ... shame on them. Then on Monday we FIDS were all home alone as the folks were taking cover at work. They had a bit of a scare cause a storm was spinning up around us before they could get home. Luckily it never developed into anything nasty so we were safe.
Have some leftover cake and ice cream. Thanks for the BOTD win yesterday ... totally unexpected.

Hi Cori,
new pics are up. The first 3 are of the mama pig with her 2 piglets, then comes the mushroom with smurf & smurfette. A new kokkaburra, a new cockatiel, a citron-crested white cockatoo & a baby seal.
Mum's got good news. She's going to the market on June 1st. It was supposed to start on July 6th, but the lady had a cancellation yesterday & asked mum if she wants the spot. Mum wasn't so sure at first, b/c her friend Sandi can't come this time, but she told mum to go anyway.
That means she'll be very busy next week to get everything ready for it. She sure has a lot of stock now. Must be over 200 pals!!! Our weather is getting cooler now, but mum still swims & when she came home today, she said the water was really really warm again, wow & that at nearly winter time.
Dad's home on a holiday & i'm loving it to have both my parronts here with me. I fly from one to the other, but mainly sit with dad, after all, i have to make the most of him being on a holiday.
The disasters in your country seem never ending this year! Feel so sorry for the people who are affected.

Thank you for the information, it was very interesting. I bet the vet is amazed at your progress. I knew that your mom did a lot of research for you. That's why I told Dixie to talk with you. I knew you could help him. The vets just wanted to do very pricey things to him. I think he is doing a lot better too.
Today was a very cold and rainy day. It’s only in the 40’s …BRRRR! That storm on Monday left many broken trees on our road. Today they came down and we were out of power for 5 hours while they fixed them. Hope it gets warmer soon.

Spotlight on Caring -Taz part 7
Sky here with our last blogs with the Proctor flock. I must say I have dearly enjoyed learning all about this well known B.C. flock. SKY; Please continue, Mom Gail; SUZIQ was the next member of the flock. She came from the same bird store as Scooby. We used to visit there fairly often and buy food there as well. Suzi was a sweet bird and used to live with the owner's wife but then after nine months she decided that she did want to sell her so Burt bought her for me to try and ease the pain of losing Xena, I was not ready for a grey and didn’t know if I ever would be. Suzi still is a beautiful and sweet girl who loves her me and only me. Suzi does like to lay eggs a lot. I have had her checked out to make sure her calcium levels were okay and they were, I also make sure that she gets enough calcium in her diet. Ekkies are also very sensitive with regards to their diets. They don't do well with a lot of additives in their food or with pellets; they need a nice fresh food diet. They also have a tendency to toe tapping and wing flapping usually due to an excess of additives in their diet or stress can also be the cause. Suzi did start to toe tap and wing flap years ago and I had to play detective to try and figure out what was causing this as she was not on any pellets or other type of bird food and there didn't seem to be any cause for stress either. After a lot of research I decided my only recourse was to do an elimination diet for her. I took away all food except peas to start with until she quit and if she didn't start up again after a few days I added another vegetable which was carrots...all well there but when I added corn well Suzi started up again, mom took it away and after three days she quit again. The only food to cause an issue was corn so no more corn for her ever. If she gets a little bit of corn cause she gets the wrong bowl the toe tapping and wing flapping come right back. No corn and all is well.
CHLOE is next to join, I was still missing having a grey around the house so Burt looked through the papers and found Chloe in a neighboring state. I talked to Chloe's mom through e-mails and we met them to pick her up and take her home. Chloe has been and is a joy to have around; she decided that she liked her dad best even though she was a Mother's Day present for mom. She is a good talker and has lots of sounds, some that she makes up. She loves to sing.
SIMON came to join us the following year. I always wanted a B&G macaw and so back to the papers for Burt. He spotted Simon in a neighboring state as well. We took the drive to see him. Spotlight on Caring Taz part 7b
As soon as Simon saw us he let out a really loud and friendly Hi, and as soon as we walked in we knew he was coming home with us no matter what. He has been a challenge for sure and I got bitten quite a few times in the beginning. He does not like men at all, in the 12 years he has been here that has not changed. He is a momma's boy and he has anger issues but I have figured him out pretty good now so I rarely get bitten unless I cause it by not paying attention. He is a very sweet bird in his own right. He loves being held and loved; I call him my cockatoo in a blue suit. My heart melts when he looks up at me and says "I love you", just like a guy. CHICA flew into our lives when her previous owner decided that he couldn't care for her anymore so he gave her to me. When Chica first came to live her she didn't like to be touched very much. She used to eat absolutely everything in sight until her bowl was empty. She gained quite a few grams now she is starting to enjoy being preened and held. It has taken time and patience so it is so nice to see her enjoying herself. She has learned a lot of new words from Simon and she has the most infectious laugh that it is impossible not to laugh with her.
PEARL was a beautiful little cockatiel. Burt saw her in a pet store, he really needs to stay away from those places, and brought her home. This was shortly after Tweety passed away. She was a sweetie and was sitting on Burt’s shoulder a few days after getting here and laid two eggs, she never laid anymore after that. She was with us for a few years and then got sick, we tried hard to save her but eventually she just couldn't stay with us anymore. It seemed as if she had turned the corner and was doing better but the next morning she was gone. She is buried in our back yard in the flowers. Miss you little girl. NAPOLEON joined us next. In case you didn't guess by now, I love greys. A lady in the bird club wanted to find a home for him and while at the meeting Napoleon and I were bonding so Burt talked to the lady and Napoleon was mine. They brought him over with his cage that evening. Napoleon is a wonderful companion and a wonderful bird. Napoleon is a sweet and loving bird who loves to give me kisses. He is constantly learning new words but won’t talk in front of Burt, when Burt leaves the room he starts talking or if he is with mom he talks…of course he doesn't like Burt or men for that matter. I am now complete...I have my grey...

Hi Cori,
Mom is feeling lots better today, so I got my typist back. Not only did she do the ice pack thing on her shoulder a couple of times last night, but she had a session with a trainer at the gym today on working it out safely, and that helped too. So now she can type, which is what is important, right?
Oh, and Mom went to get her mammogram first thing this morning and an ultrasound too. She talked to the Radiologist about the ultrasound, and he said it looked good. She will have to wait a few days to find out the results on the mammo, but she's very optimistic since the ultrasound is the final word.
AND BIG NEWS. My mom has been trying to get me to say Mama for a couple of years, and the other night I did it! Of course, I haven't seen fit to repeat it, and can you blame me? I add a new word (a special one!) to my Hello and C'mon, and what does she want? She is now trying to get me to say Hello Mama! The nerve!

I'm sorry to hear about the stress bars. There was an article on birdtricks.com not too long ago about them. I guess it's hard to tell what it is that's causing it since it happend a while back. Your mom is really smart tho and she has done serious research to do what is best for you so I trust her to know what to do. I'm just sorry it happened to you!
I hope everything else is going okay. Pretty quiet here today but I'm still having fun. I've got my pirate flag hanging on the door of my cage! I hung it up yesterday just because! I think it looks really nice!!

I'm sorry to hear that you have stress bars (I've had them too, before) but happy to hear that you splashed mom...showing her that you are in charge & she is the pet!!! Maybe mom should cut down on your supplements, but not completely stop them. You are feisty and that is good! You are feisty, but sweet...I love you so much!

Today mom herded cats! That's right, 2 kindergarten tours in dinosaur hall, with little ones going off in all directions! The chaperones were doing their best but kids get really excited there. Her third tour was with 5th grade, called Treasures of the Carnegie, which is basically a docent's choice tour, since the whole museum is a treasure trove.
Last night, mom worked an evening event in gems and minerals with a bunch of well to do adults at a wine tasting. It was fun, and right at the end, she ran into the president of the board of Animal Rescue League, the parent organization of the wildlife center. It was good to see him. He showed mom a spectacular picture of his blue and gold macaw. Mom may post it later.
The Pois pulled off a come from behind win yesterday, good for them. Giz was happy, Willie not so much. He really thought the Keets team would win. Both teams did a great job, though.

I'm so happy that you are feeling wonderful. Hmmm, my mom noticed when she got me that I was covered in stress bars. My feathers are bright, shiny, soft and beautiful now. Even my vet noticed and told mom. So, is your mom just going to monitor you regarding the liver disease? Maybe you should let Dixie know too. I know you are helping him get well with natural products. Are you off of everything? Or still eating better?
Today’s t-storm was very short. But, it rained all day. The next 4 days will be sunny and 56 to 62 degrees. Every bird that is enjoying warm temps, please enjoy it for me. I’m just thankful that we don’t have the destruction like Ok has.

Well mom sure knows how your mom is feeling!! Mom tries and tries with me and I quit toe tapping and then its stress bars and the list goes on and on and moms says I am one hard fid to raise! She doesnt think most people would try like she does though. At the one grands school at the end of 5th grade they go camping for 3 days every year and the grands dad went too as a chaperone. Skin sis stayed home to take care of the dog and house but sure missed the grand and her dad. Skin sis came up to visit with us but wanted to stay home at night to be with the dog and said she slept good in her own bed. Girl, you have every right to do some braggin' on yourself. Go right ahead! You definitely earned the privilege to boast a little on a baseball prowess in the last game. You're right about our team having great spirit. I'm lovin' it, that's for sure. I'm going to be asking everybirdie to come up with some sort of a cheer to post on the stadium page at some point, but I'll do that in another baseball note. Tonight I've got a couple of other things to discuss.
1. You all are a great bunch of help, telling me that whatever everybody else thinks about a team page is alright with you. What do I do if nearly EVERYBIRDIE said the same thing; "Whatever everybirdie else wants." Well, since four definite yeses were mentioned, we'll go with the having a team page. It's purpose will be for posting all the team pictures as well as the games we've played and the schedule of when we're playing next. Any sort of practicing we do will still be done on at Kevlar Memorial Stadium. (I liked what you said about practicing at the stadium....) We want our presence felt there. Thank you to those of you who took the time to voice your thoughts and opinions on the subject. I appreciate that.
2. We have a teammate who is celebrating a hatchday on Thursday: Miss Ruby, our Left Fielder! (35469) Let's join her in her 7th celebration.
Our fellow Macaw team is playing on Thursday against the Quaker Little Dragons. If you haven't got anything else to do, come cheer them on starting at 3 pm EST.
I'll let you know when the new team page is up and ready for visiting.

It seems that storms are hitting in the same place. Can't remember which city, but there was another that got hit twice. In our state, the I-94 corridor is the path many storms take. I wonder if it is the highway, or if it is a natural corridor that the highway got built on.

Hi Cori & family
How are u sweetie? Mom only got a few blogs out yesterday, so she's sending the same blog with some new added to it! Mom got her cortisone injections in both of her shoulders yesterday, which she gets every 3 months. She usually gets some relief almost instantly, but her right shoulder actually feels worse today! Mom also went to her granddaughter's preschool graduation last evening! I had an exciting day today! It was mom's granddaughter Olivia's last day of preschool, & I got to go! Most of Livi's classmates came running up to mom at the graduation last night, very excited that I'm coming to their class today! Mom takes me to the preschool classes there every year, & I love seeing all the kids as much as they love seeing me! The only difficult part of any excursions, is mom getting me back into my carrier!
Mom is doing good today, but her nose is very sore! Mom has been giving me belly kisses for nearly 16 yrs, without incident! It's swollen on the right side & a bit bruised, even tho the damage was done on the inside! Because my nails & toes are so long, most of the damage was 2 inches down in the nasal cavity! The ER Doc said it was a good thing mom had previously had her adenoids removed, coz my nails would have destroyed the right one! Mom has to be rechecked in 2 weeks, or immediately if she starts bleeding again! She had to be cauterized in 4 different places & has to take an antibiotic! Mom said that the scariest part of having my toes stuck up her nose, was that she was very afraid my 2 toes would end up broken...mom was very relieved that my toes are absolutely fine! Mom refers to this incident as "NoseGate 2013"!
Mom doesn't want anyone to think that the ER Nurses & Docs were being discourteous, they were not! They were picturing a tiny pet bird, like a Budgie, not a large Macaw! Mom showed them a pic of me, they weren't expecting me to be so big! When mom said "Be glad I got her loose before I came in"! That's when they started laughing!

Sorry it's been a couple of days...mom had the dental clinic yesterday & is still recovering. Unfortunately, looks like she has to go back on Friday. It is very stressful and somewhat painful too. Oh well, this too shall pass...
Whatcha been up to this week? It was rainy today, been fairly warm though, which is nice. Do you know of a place that we can have our margaritas, some appetizers and dance too? I love dancing with you.

Congrats to the Tiel Terrors on their win yesterday!
Our hearts are sad for all that loss of life in OK. What a terrible event.
Mom worked in the RVS room again today, the baby foxes are growing like weeds! There are still a ton of raccoons and a few ground hogs, too. Then she went to get her hair cut, and stopped to pick up some lunch. We all told her to eat fast, because both the boys have a game today, and Falco wants to watch and cheer. Tonight she's working at the museum again, a special evening event. On my page is a pic of the fountain mom got running the other day. It looks like it's terra cotta, but it's really a light plastic. ...Happy Humpday BC buddies, our week is half empty, and yet half full! We are looking at a slightly overcast and rainy day, but it makes our tomatoes and okra grow, and unfortunately the grass also! Dad used to spend a lot of time making our lawn and shrubs, and flower beds look so nice, but old age has cut a lot of that out! I am hoping to get out in my aviary for awhile, and Ziggy's cage is ready for outside! I'll probably stop by the game today because I love baseball so much, and I must see what aunt Auda packed in Sugar's Hello Kitty lunch box! Us FIDS rode the Monday tornado out at home by ourselves while the folks were locked down (unable to leave) at work. We were safe enough but the folks were lucky in that the track of that tornado didn't turn like the 1999 tornado. Otherwise the AFB would have taken a direct hit. Mom thinks that its an old wives tale ... like lightening never strikes the same place twice .... very unlikely for that to happen but it has, and no reason why it can't happen!!! Both the Sunday and Monday Tornados were tracking along the same lines as the 1999 tornado with some minor differences. Will be intersting to see what the experts determine. Have a wonderful day.
