i happened to go into a pet store and saw this beautiful severe macaw. it wouldn't have anything to do with me and when i went near her she tried to bite me. a few days later my hubby and i were eating at a restaurant near the pet store and i persuaded my hubby to go in and see this beautiful macaw. it was love at first sight between the two and my hubby bought her on the spot. the next day after bringing her home and getting her settled into our home, Cori decided i was her mate and no one else. she allows my hubby to hold her but it is me she wants 24/7.

  Hi Cori and Boo Boo!
Hi Everybirdie! Tonight we will be making a shredder toy that looks like a cupcake. You will need,

- A treat cup
- Cupcake papers
- Beads
- Safe stringing material

Start by taking your string and knotting the bottom. Take your treat cup, poke a hole in the bottom, and string that on facing up. Now take beads, and string them on until you have beads almost to the top of the cup. Take your cupcake papers, and cut the sides into strips and poke holes in the middle. Now we are going to be making a puff on top. String on a paper facing down, then one facing up, then one facing down, and so on until you have a puff that looks like frosting. Now take some beads, string them on, and top it off with a bigger red bead. Tie a loop, and you're done!

When mom starting making this toy tonight, it was supposed to turn out like a bowl of ice cream. But she thought it looked a lot more like a cupcake and left it that way. There is a picture in my gallery!

Thanks for voting for me!

Hugs,
Grey Bird

  Hi Cori
Oh poor Aunt Carol getting hurt again in the yard doing yard work.Oh does my Mom know what getting a stick jabbed in her eye feels like and its not good. When skin bro was a baby Mom was on the way home when he threw his bottle in the woods by the side of the road she was walking his carriage on.Mom went to bend over to retrieve his bottle when she got her eye poked with a stick that was growing out of the ground.Mom thought nothing of it until after she got home and wanted to relax. It felt like there was something in her eye constantly and no matter how many times she washed her eye out the thing was still there, she tried hot water, cold water and nothing worked. It was so annoying! She finally had to wait for my dad to come home and take her to the hospital, she's been like that since around 9am that morning and it wasn't until nearly 7pm that my dad got to take her to the hospital. She had to wear a patch over her eye after the dr put something in her eye which made it feel better. Then she had to go see an eye dr to get tested about two weeks later and everything was fine after that. But it sounds like Aunt Carol had a really bad poke in the eye.We are praying that she is feeling better tomorrow and that she didn't pierce her eyeball and damage anything. Our good thoughts and prayers are with her.
This morning was a bright sunny morning with the highs for the day of 50,the lows of 41 and right now it's 50.Mom got dad off to work and then got us up and cleaned our cages and swept our room and gave Dixie his antibiotics and his eye drops.Mom had to chase Candida again from the Bird Room to the dining room and back over 13 times.I think she got her exercise for the day.Mom finally had to grab her off the toy hook on the play gym,and shut our door so she couldn't go back out to the play gym in the dining room.Candida thinks she should be free and uncaged all day! Then we got our bean mix.Mom is going to get the trash ready and the recyclables packed in the car to take to the dump tomorrow. It's going to be another boring day with nothing interesting going on and Mom working on her chores and we're just so happy about that.Mom is still tired from the long day she had yesterday and is going in slow motion today. We are happy because Mom is home with us all day. When will it be warm all the time so we can go outside and enjoy the sunshine?
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses for sweet Cori!Loving you always and forever,Peepers

  Hi Cori and Boo boo
Sure hope mom's eye is ok!!
Mom didn’t have a very good day yesterday. She decided to go to the fruit stand after washing up the sheets and hanging them out and some house cleaning. Well her wallet was missing. Mom called Giant Eagle since that is where she used it last. They didn’t have it. Then she tore the car apart inside and the trunk and no wallet. She started calling to cancel her cards and get new ones then. She looked in the car again and all the rooms in the house. Then she had to go to the bank so she stopped at the fruit stand and got a few things too. She came home and took the sheets off the line and put stuff away and looked some more. She got supper and did dishes and cleaned up and then started to clean my condo and play gym. Then it hit her!! Yep she took her wallet along to vote and left it in dads truck. She ran out to get it and there it was. Now she has to wait on all the new cards to come and then do what she has to do with them too. Wow what a day. Mom looked pretty tired tonight. “A memory last forever never does it die. True friends stay together and never say goodbye.” Your friend, Gus (RIP Chi chi)

Today it started out cloudy and cool here...Now it has been raining not hard but pretty much steady..We do need the rain here due to the brush fire that is now going through 2 counties Monroe and Pike..Pike is where we live and it is not all that far from us...They have it about 60% contained and with the rain they would like to have more of it under control...

  Hi Cori
It is so weird! BC is letting me log on to some birdy's pages and not others. Obviously you are one of the good ones, but I can't get on Sugar's page, Pearl & Silver or Grey Bird so far. Hope to be able to correct that later.

Well, Mom's trip to the gym yesterday was a total bust! She went in, said hi to Becky, and went over to the arm bike to warm up her shoulders. She usually does 6-10 minutes on there, but after 3 minutes she was dizzy. She went back up to the front desk, and Becky and Lindsey (the gym ops mgr) took one look at her and said "go home you look way too pale and weak". So maybe tomorrow, but if she does there still won't be any zumba for a while.

Meanwhile today Mom did go and get her arthritis massage. Mattea concentrated on Mom's back over her lungs to help break up the congestion. And Mom's shoulders were really tight, so she worked on that and the sinuses. Mom felt lots better by the time she left.

When she got home she fixed a roast beef and provolone wrap for our lunch. It would have been perfect if she had just left off that nasty spinach! Needless to say I ate RB and spit the spinach on Mom's shoulder. Hey! Maybe it will help with those tight muscles!

  Hello Cori~
I hope you are having a wonderful day! I can't believe I'm BOTD! I am so excited and so grateful to all my friends here. It is still such an honor to be picked from all the awesome birds here to have a day in the spotlight!
We have had a crazy morning already! It was pretty loud last night since they were paving the road across the street. Who knew that paving included pounding? I didn't! It was the stream roller I guess! Mom cranked the radio up but you could still feel a bit of shaking. I squawked a few times and Merlin spent most of the night in the window watching it all! McKenzie slept through it all!! They were done by 4 am but I think I'll be grabbing a nap later!
We have a wetland that runs the length of the complex. It is fenced in but it's just a plank fence and not totally to the ground. When mom was walking McKenzie this morning, McKenzie stuck her head under the fence that encloses the wetland and pulled out a Mole! Thank goodness mom has been working on "drop" with her because when mom screamed, she dropped it! The poor thing was flailing around and so scared! McKenzie knew she had done something bad cause she flattened out on the walkway and looked guiltily at mom!
Mom locked McKenzie in the car and grabbed the car towel. She picked up the little Mole and checked him out. Thankfully he wasn't hurt! He kept flailing and growled at mom! Mom crawled against the fence and found his hole and set him down there. He dug a little and then popped back down in the hole. Mom told McKenzie that there will be no hunting allowed! We read later on that coyotes dig up moles for food. Dad thinks any kind of dog would do it and that is probably true. Obviously there will be no more walking anywhere near the fence! I don't think moms heart could take another incident like that!hahahahaha She was so scared that McKenzie had killed it.
Tell your mom she needs a day off!! I know it's never easy but it would do her a world of good to take a day and just do what she wants to do!!! We always keep her in our prayers. She is one awesome lady!
Come on over to the castle today! Mikey and Kacey have had Lizzy and Chipper prepare a wonderful luncheon for us! I can't wait to see you!!!
Enjoy your day!
Love, hugs and a vote ~ Sugar ♥

  Hi Cori
I hope mom's eye is better today, since she has to do all that driving. I also hope dad's eyes are okay. That's a long drive for eye care!
I had another visit with Dr. Pleban yesterday afternoon, and she says I'm healing quite nicely. All my meds are done, and she said I don't need any more. I have several feathers growing in, the scab on the inside of my leg is gone, and the big one on the outside is looking good. She says everything is moving right along. She left my little turtleneck collar on, and wants to see me next week. She made the appointment, to make sure her staff knows that when she says one week, that's what she means.
My appointment yesterday was at 3:30, which put us in the middle of rush hour traffic again, but mom chose a different route home, so the trip home only took 40 minutes, not 80 like last week. Next week my appointment is 2:40, so we shouldn't hit any traffic there or back except for school buses.
Today it's raining hard out there, but of course the dogs still wanted a walk. It's funny, because they hide under the overhang on the deck when mom puts them out in the rain, but they'll walk on leads right out in the rain! Mom got wet, too, even though she was carrying an umbrella. It's a spring rain, though, so it will be good for the flowers. Temps are mid 50s, it feels like.
Mom is getting that laser treatment on her eyes today, we think. She doesn't know if he'll do both eyes today or not, but we're kind of hoping he does, just to get it over with.
I hope you are having a good day, getting lots of sunshine, cuddles, and scritches. Hugs, Falco

  Hey Cori,
Gee, it sounds like your mom is like my mom in a sense a little accident prone. Mom always used to get hurt when she was young as she had a heart condition and couldn't play any kind of sports. At the age of 3 or 4 she had open heart surgery and only remembers parts of being in the hospital. They said she would have a normal life but it didn't turn out that way. Mom gets hurt easily and bruised easy too. Some say she's a little fragile but mom doesn't think so.

She grew up with 2 brothers so strawberry knees are eggspected.

Hope your moms eyes feel better and her leg too. ;)

Moms voice sounds like a frog or maybe a toad ? She sounds horsie as she was coughing all day at work, someone said she needs to change doctor! Cause one lady had the same thing and she got antibiotics and that cured her.

Here's some late hugs and kisses and a vote.

Love,

Laka

Oh no, now mom has hurt her eye ... need to stop and recoup! Your mom has to take care of every one in the house ... she can't get sick or injured.
Today was another sunny and warm day in the upper 80's. We are still waiting for rain. And, we had a new visitor. Bunni came with a bunny friend right up to our front screen door this morning. But, they didn't leave any Easter eggs or treats. I guess that's over with. They are very friendly.

  Hi Cori and Boo Boo!
Hi Everybirdie! I am so sorry for not blogging yesterday. Mom had a very bad headache and couldn't keep her eyes open. But, I am happy to report that when she woke up this morning she felt just fine! To make up for not blogging last night, we will be making two toys tonight. For the first toy you will need,

- Cupcake papers (for small/medium birds) or mini cupcake papers (for extra small birds) or coffee filters (for large birds)
- Beads
- Safe stringing material

Take your string and tie a knot at the bottom. String on a bead, and take 3-4 cupcake papers or coffee filters, poke holes in the center, and string them on. String on another bead, and then more papers. Keep stringing on the beads and papers until it reaches your desired size. Then finish off by stringing a bead on top, and tying a loop.

For the next toy you will need,

- Wood (what ever size and type is right for your bird)
- Beads
- Safe stringing material
- OPTIONAL: a bell

Take your string and tie a knot at the bottom. If you are using a bell, tie the knot on the bell. String on a piece of wood, then a bead, then another piece of wood, then another bead, and so on until it reaches the desired size. Finished it off by adding a bead to the top and tying a loop.

Both of these are very simple, but fun to play with! The wooden toy was made for Paris using balsa, and the cupcake paper toy will be for one of the conures. There are pictures of both toys in my gallery. (Mom apologizes for the hideous colors of the cupcake paper toy. She had no pretty colors!)

Thank you so much for voting for me!

OH CORI, YOUR PARRONTS ARE HAVING A VERY BAD TIME OF IT. I SURE HOPE YOUR MOM DIDN'T SCRATCH HER CORNEA WITH THE BRANCH. THAT IS VERY PAINFUL. SO I HOPE SHE IS ABLE TO DRIVE YOUR DAD.

DID YOUR DAD BREAK HIS TOE OR DID HE BREAK A BONE IN THE FOOT REGION. IF ITS JUST THE TOE, THEN THEY JUST TAPE IT BUT USING A BOOT OR A SPECIAL SHOE WOULD BE MUCH BETTER AND HELP THE TOE TO HEAL.

How is Aunt Carol doing today? We so hope that she's not so sore and her leg isn't too painful after that horrible fall she took yesterday! We sure do understand about all the neighbors who's leaves seem to always end up in your yard!We are on the corner and we get all the leaves from down one street and then on the other side of the house from our own street and then we get them from the houses that are in back of us!It sure sounds scary to have to rake leaves from the hill side,Nana has a hillside where its so scary to rake or mow down that hill that abuts the next door neighbor who's trees are growing over the fence into her yard!We so hope that Aunt Carol doesn't get bitten by any of those nasty bugs!

Poor mom with the aching and sore muscles! Mom sure knows how that feels too.
Hope your mom can get Gma stuff set up at the bank.
Today was another cool day here so of course I didn’t get a sunbath. Mom did wash the sheets and hung them out and good thing cause its suppose to rain tomorrow the weather guesser says. Every week mom buys a pineapple and cuts it up and puts it in the refrigerator for most mom and me to eat it. Dad does get into it but not as much as mom and I enjoy it. Mom and I eat lots of fruit. Mom decided she would try to get a pineapple plant to grow so mom watched on you tube and found out what she needed to do to get it going. Well mom keeps changing the water every day and it finally looks like there are teeny tiny things growing on the sides so hoping they are roots. We should know one way or the other in a few days though. “A memory last forever never does it die. True friends stay together and never say goodbye.” Your friend, Gus (RIP Chi chi)

  Hi Cori
Tell Mom to make sure she gets that wound sterilized. Mom still remembers a fall on the ice back when she was in college. She was too wussy about cleaning it, and the resulting infection took three times as long to heal. No messing around!!

Well, Mom continues to improve, although she is still coughing some....not like before though. She is going to the gym to work out with Becky this afternoon, but they will just do balance work so as not to overdo it. And Mom is not going to stay for zumba. She knows that would be a BIG mistake. Works for me, since that means she will be back home earlier.

We shared cheese cannelloni for lunch, and since I adore anything with pasta it sure worked for me. Mom has to time anything with dairy for 2 hours before and after her antibiotics, so meals become very much scheduled. However that mid morning snack of chicken broth was sooooo unnecessary!

Don't forget to go by the milonga page #165848 and vote for your flock's favorite ladies and gents hats. The competition is heating up, so if you want your favorites to win you need to go and vote!

  Hi Cori
HOpe mom is feeling better today. She probably needed that whole quiche to help her heal! I bet she was still tired, too.
Today is my vet appointment, I hope she says I'm healing and maybe can take off the collar. If not, maybe next time. I have 2 new feathers that mom can see on my chest, but the rest is still bald. Anyone know how long it takes?
Mom had 2 tours this morning with first grades. They all wanted dinosaurs and friends, and both groups had booked a pterosaur time after their tour, so mom knows they will have a great time. One of the little guys kept trying to correct mom when she said pterosaur! He kept saying pterodactyl, so she finally told him that pterodactyl names one animal in the group, but pterosaur is the name for the whole group. He was very cute!
I hope your weather is better than ours today. It's 62 and cloudy, looks like rain any second. We are hoping the rain doesn't come until mom is back from the vet's office. I hope that you are getting lots of attention, cuddles and scritches today. Hugs, Falco

  Hello Cori~
I hope you had a wonderful day! We had lots of plans for today but nothing got done. Mom was on the phone with various family members until 3 pm. Then she had to go pick Ian up, then Jennifer up, get dinner and clean up the kitchen! Not a very exciting day but I did get to yell hello to the family!
Mom has 2 younger brothers. One lives in Arizona and the other lives in California. They and their families are going to drive up to Portland Oregon this summer and want mom and her sister to meet them there. Portland is only 2 hours south of us. As usual with families, no one can decide on a date. The boys want to stay down there for a few days but mom and her sister have us pets to take care of so they only want to go for the day. Moms sister and her youngest brothers wife can only be together for a few hours before they are at each others throats!hahahahahaha Gotta love family!
Sure hope your mom took it easy today! That is so much work for one person!! I thinks it's funny you were pulling stick out of her hair!!
I hope you enjoy your evening!! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

  Hi Cori and Boo boo
Your poor mom dragging those heavy leaves up that hill and then hurting her shin on top of it all!! Its good you helped out and got the twigs and leaves out of her hair.
This morning after mom got my breakfast and hers and dads she decided to go for groceries. It was raining but mom figured she would dodge the rain drops and get it over with. Dad was home so I didn’t have to go in my condo and stay so that was good. When mom got back and put stuff away her and dad went to vote. Then I did have to be in my condo but the good part was its close by and they weren’t gone long. After they got back mom took me out for a sunbath and just as we got out there the sun vanished and it got cloudy and windy so we came back in the house so no sunbath today. We will see what tomorrow brings if I get a sun bath or not then,. “A memory last forever never does it die. True friends stay together and never say goodbye.” Your friend, Gus (RIP Chi chi)

  Hi Cori
Well, Mom is still not 100%, but the improvement is steady. She even got out of bed at 9:30 this morning, and she hasn't gone back yet! Yesterday it was 11, and the days before that? In and out of bed all day long with never more than 20-30 minutes up. The cough from the bronchitis is much better, and the sinus infection has really improved. Needless to say I am very pleased to be getting more Mommy time, but that chicken broth she had for lunch was of no interest to me! Hopefully there will be snacks later....

I am very pleased to announce that every single pic in the Derby Hat Contest has at least one vote. That shows that the turn out for voting is almost as good as the voting in our primaries across the country. By the time CA has theirs, it will all be over but the shouting but Mom and Dad will vote anyway. Dad keeps threatening to vote for Trump, but he is just kidding...isn't he?

  Hi Cori
Your poor Mom having to work so hard on the yard like that!Isn't there anyone who will come and help her out like skin bro?Its a wonder she didn't get badly hurt falling down that hill like that with all the slippery leaves and those bags that are 50lbs filled with heavy wet leaves are nothing to sneeze at either, they weigh a ton.And to have her rip open her shin on the rock like that was just awful!Never mind the jeans how is her leg doing,it had to have been so painful to unstick the jeans from the big gash she had and the dried blood.Poor Aunt Carol needs some good lovin and caring. And she most certainly needs some help with all that yard work.My Mom knows how bad yard work and raking leaves can be.She did it for several years and she wound up with blisters so bad on her hands and an aching back. She even dug up half the yard to make some grass grow, first weeding out all the tree roots which were impossible and all the rocks and bugs! She got half the front lawn done and then couldn't do it anymore and my dad never tried to help with that project. Please tell Aunt Carol to take a nice warm bath and just soak in it and relax. She sure does deserve something nice done for her for all the hard work she keeps having to do everyday. It was good you cared enough to get her hair all cleaned up from all the sticks and leaves! You are such a good loving baby,Cori!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses for sweet Cori!Loving you always and forever,Peepers

  Hi Cori
Poor mom, hope she's feeling okay today, and her shin isn't bothering her. If she's like my mom she bled about a gallon!
Today mom did the presentation of Hopi and ancient Egyptian animals for the new docent class. It was a little scary, because mom didn't find a lot of information on the Hopi animals, but she managed. She showed the class some of the things that lived or live today in the southwest, like jaguars, pronghorns, etc. She also stopped at the deer and elk cases, even though those particular deer and elk aren't from the southwest. They also stopped at the coyote.
Egypt was a lot easier to research and present. Mom presented the animals and the gods with whom they were associated. It was fun, because not only did they wander all over the second floor, looking at the African dioramas, they also got to see the dung beetles from the resource room.
On the third floor, mom did Bird Hall, but told them they were doing both Egyptian and Hopi, so they had to keep separate notes for them. They paid particular attention to vultures and falcons for Egypt, golden eagles for Hopi, then further down the hall, they stopped at the turkey (Hopi raise wild ones for food), quail, ibis, and a few others. The last 2 stops were in the cultural halls. Mom showed them the mummified animals in Egypt, and where to see the golden eagle in the Hopi area. All in all, it took the full 2 hours which mom didn't expect, but they seemed to get a lot out of it.
On the way home, mom stopped at Trader Joe's (always a mistake when you are hungry), and picked up some beet hummus, Mediterranean hummus, curried chicken salad, sushi, well, you get the picture. She went in there for broccoli and blueberries for us. Oh yes, she got them, too.
That meant coming straight home, though, because it's warm out and some of the things she bought had to be frozen or refrigerated. So she didn't stop to vote, but will go later, as she's not going to miss today's primary.
It rained here this morning, and apparently while mom was lecturing at the museum. It looks like it might rain again, but in between, the sun is really hot. It's in the mid 70s here. I hope you are having a great spring day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches, too. Hugs, Falco

Hi Everybirdie. Tonight we are going to make a little forager/shredder toy. You will need,

- A treat cup
- A palm flower
- Beads
- Cupcake papers
- Finger traps
- Crinkle paper
- Safe stringing material

Take your string and tie a knot at the end. String a few beads on, and then take a treat cup, poke a hole in the bottom, and string that one. Fill the cup with crinkle paper and treats, and then take the palm flower, poke a hole in the center, and string it on top of the treat cup. Take a few cupcake papers, poke holes in the centers, and cut the sides. String those on, then string on 3 finger traps, a few beads, and tie a loop on the top.

  Hey Cori,
Thanks mom is feeling slightly better. She thought she had the flu but when she went to the doctor he told her that she just had a bad cold.

I guess that is surely better than getting the real flu huh?

Gee, I hope your mom goes to the doctor and gets her leg taken care of. You don't want an open wound to go untreated.

We'll keep good thoughts and prayers her way. :)

Here's a vote for you.

  Hi Cori and Boo boo
Happy Birthday to Gpa. Wow 100 years old!! He has seen many changes and did many things too. Moms one aunt lived to 106 and lived a good long life too.
Today was a very pretty day and mom even hung some clothes out on the line when she washed today. Mom did the usual chores today and I helped her to scrub the floors and run the sweeper. I did mess up my condo a bit when mom ran that pesty sucking machine and I took a bath in my water bowl. Then later I finally got my sun bath I haven’t been able to get for a good while cause of the colder weather. That sun sure did feel good and the rope perches mom got at the bird show yesterday work really good. It sure made the sun bath even better I think LOL. Mom says rain is coming in tomorrow the weather guesser says so good I got my sun bath today!! “A memory last forever never does it die.   Hi Cori
100! Now that is a special birthday!!

Well, Mom is feeling a bit better today. At least I got some more mom time, and we shared lunch: mushroom ravioli. Now that is one of my mom's favorites, but it tasted funny to her....everything does right now. I, however, totally enjoyed my pasta share of the lunch.

And as Dad pointed out last night, Mom was exactly half way thru the antibiotics, so she should just now be seeing some results. She is still hacking up coughs, and that's annoying but she is not all weak and wobbly today like yesterday. And she and Dad are going grocery shopping as soon as he gets home from work. Thank goodness!! I had to suffer thru pellets and a nutriberry for breakfast instead of my usual fruit and veggies! Horrors!

Don't forget to vote in the Derby Hat Contest on the milonga page. And be sure to scoot by Panther's page and give his mom love and prayers for a successful treatment from the doctors. She is getting state of the art care, and that is a very good thing.

  Hello Cori~
I hope you are having a wonderful day also! That party sounds like it was so much fun! So much history when you live that long! I hope your parronts enjoyed it. The food sounds wonderful too. I hope your mom got some rest!!
It sounds like you have a pretty large yard and it sounds like your mom has a bunch of work out there! What kinds of trees do you have? The cotton woods around here have changed color already and dropped most of the little flowers that were on them. They do that about twice a year. Boy those little flowers make a big mess. They are all over everything! For some reason McKenzie was trying to eat some of them!hahahaha I guess she just doesn't know what they are. Bet she would love to pounce in your yard!!
Have an awesome day and we hope your mom gets to do something fun today!!
Love, hugs and a vote ~ Sugar ♥

  Hi Cori
What a great party! Hope mom had fun with all the hoopla going on. 100 years old is pretty remarkable.
Mom got back late from the center today. She went up about 15 minutes early, and started right away to do animal intakes. One couple brought in 3 bunnies in their nest (mom had been hit by a car), and while mom was doing the intake info on them, another lady came in with 7 baby possums. So, between answering the phone, and doing the paperwork, there went her advantage in being there a little early. Mom checked with Jess, one of the rehabilitators, to see how she could help, because Jess looked very stressed out. Jess told her she needed to stimulate and weigh all the baby bunnies and she was the only person there who knew how to do that. Mom said not true, I can help! So she stimulated about 24 baby bunnies to help them urinate and defecate, then weighed each one of them and marked the charts. It saved Jess a ton of stress and time.
After that, mom cleaned the squirrel porch, and prepared 2 cages out there for babies from the mammal nursery who are ready to go outside and see the world, although they're not ready for release yet. When she finished that, she cleaned the small flight aviary, where Martha the great horned owl is raising a young one. The baby has grown quite big, and was clacking its beak at mom, just like an owl should do. Martha is a great foster mom.
They had scheduled mom to feed raccoons at noon, but it was already 10 after, the raccoons' milk was not even warm yet, and mom was tired, so she told Jess she was leaving.
It sure was a long and busy morning. Now she's back with us, and as soon as she's done with our blogs and a shower, she will work on her presentation for the docents tomorrow. She will be doing Egyptian and Hopi animals. She is including reptiles in this presentation, because both groups are/were desert dwellers, so there are lots of reptiles there. Also, in Egypt, she has to include the dung beetles! She's not sure it will last for 2 hours, though. That's fine with her, of course.
Today is a bright, sunny day, in the 60s so far, which is normal. I hope you are having a great day, getting sunshine, and lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Falco

  Hey Cori,
Wow, happy birthday to grandpa! Imagine reaching 100? That's like us in the wild but in captivity not so long. Or somethings like that.

Sorry but mom is in no shape or form to do anything. I think she's got the flu!! Ewwww!!

It started with a sore throat a few days ago and then on Friday night mom felt the chills!!

The poor thing couldn't even get up to go to the library with dad to return her origami books.

She doesn't like the chills. Cause when it's hot she's cold.

So mom may be offline for awhile plus her migraine is back too so she got a double whammy.

Here's a vote for you.

Love,

Laka

Congrats to 100 yr old G-pa. That sounds like a greyt party. Did mom bring home any treats???
She sure does a lot of hard work at home.
This morning mom said I could make a phone call. I got to talk with Jenny's dad. He likes to hear me talk. After that, I had my shower on the lanai. The sun felt good. Then, my parronts went to St Armands Key this afternoon. I took a beauty nap and was ready to go when they came home.
