Okay – First of all, thank you EVERY birdy for BOTD. Mom went to my page and looked to see who was on my page the day before and there were not enough birdies to get me in as BOTD. HMMMM Somebirdy was up to something to keep Mom’s fingers very busy at the computer with me. She is laughing hard, still trying to figure out the plan. BUT she promised she would do her best to keep up with our blogs. (serves her right) Love you mom. It took her 2 weeks to catch up on Marley’s blogs, but she did it. Guess what – it is snowing again. We are giving it away for whoever wants it. We have one red squirrel who found a way to get the blue jays peanuts so Mom and Dad have to find a new way to feed the jays. Dad is out shoveling and Mom is going to start a fire in the stove later, and work some more in the bird room. Her plan is to have the entire room done by the middle of the week so we can start renovating it again. Country life is beautiful - when we look out the window everything is white, but it is peaceful. For those of you I have not yet squawked to this year, Happy New Year to you, your flock and your family! Sorry for the copy and paste. lol

Hi Willy & Flock,
I would like to thank everybody for voting my angel Jacob Bird of the Day. It means a lot to me. So do all your sweet notes and emails. I'm still so shocked that he is gone. I keep looking over at the budgies cage expecting to see him there, cuddled up with Weasley. Instead I see just Bella, Hermione, and Weasley. I can stop crying, but if I see his picture or name or the color green, I just kinda start again. I wasn't prepared for this at all. He was only a year old. I feel so sad I didn't spend more time with him the day before. I only have blurry pictures of him. I was very lucky to be his parront. I had him from 9/11/11 to 10/20/12. A little over a year. I will never ever forget him. I still have his body, I am waiting for my mom to buy some dirt for a big flower pot so I can put him in there. I am going to paint a rock with him on it, and put it in there, and also plant flowers. I have him placed on top of some fake fall leaves in a pencil holder as his coffin. I put some of Weasley's feathers around him, and one up to his chest and heart, so he will be with her, always. I did keep his feathers, and I will keep them forever. I miss him sooo much! :*( Yesterday while I was at the park with my sister, a beautiful greenish yellow butterfly with black stripes flew by. I am sure Jacob sent that for me. It was HIS colors. I hope that one day I will be able to think of him with out crying.

Now they want to treat me like a dog. the lady they got me from called and said she forgot to give us some of my things. So we went back to visit. One of the things was a flight collar, and now I can go outside and see all the funny people. I really like it, and mom is gonna take a picture of me in it. Casper.

... for the note you and your flockmates stopped by with yesterday while I was "King" of the BC. It was a great day indeed, getting all sorts of privileges here at home. I got to go first in almost everything! First to sit on the playstand by the computer — it was MY notes, afterall, that were being written, first to get served when the fresh food came in, but not first when it came to being tucked in for the night. I was thinking it would be great to get to stay up a little later but it didn't take me long to figure out I'm really not a night-owl. I'm a go-to-bed-at the-regular-time Amazon!

I am so happy and excited to have this honor because now I will be able to spend the day at the Castle with all my friends.Since I am handicap and only have one eye and can not use my feet to stand or perch with mom gave me a bath today which I love and now my feathers are so soft and I get to preen them which i can do. Thank you and the rest of your flock for coming by when I was BOTD a couple of days ago. Mom cried when she read all the blogs from the kind birds that came by my page in loving memory of me and to wish me a happy hatchday. She cried when she read the blogs because she still misses me very much and always will along with the rest of the flock but I am watching over them now as their guardian angel to keep them all safe from harm and I have Angel Christy along with all the other wonderful birds who have made the journey across the rainbow bridge to keep me company so I told mom not to feel sad because we will be together again. Thanks again for honoring my memory.Mom would of been by sooner with my note but she has been having computer problems.

Hello Willie,
Thank you my birdie friends for flying by to congratulate me on my Bird of the Day win. It came as a complete surprise to me and I quickly donned my crown, took possession of the throne along with Kings Pearl and Silver and wrote down my royal menu for the day.

There was millet and cooked grains with sumptuous vegetables, heaps of seeds and some pellets too. And then I enjoyed the fine company of you and all the others who flocked to the castle, along with my big frother, Pepper who is always nearby.

Pepper and I really have become used to each others company. A few weeks ago he started being fed at his favourite spot by the window. He eats out of a big glass pan. He lets me eat from the same dish with him. Sometimes when I go to the dish, it tempts him down from his playgym and he'll eat some more. I think I've taught him the value of a good meal and to eat things he never considered to be food before.

The two of us spend a lot of time together in the aviary. Occasionally we are fed out there. It always ends with me cleaning up Pepper's food dish. He needs help with such things. One day he actually ate my supper instead of his. I almost died with disbelief. I almost died of hunger too, as his food that day was too mushy and fruity for my taste.

Poirot can be a big pain to me. He likes to do what I call displacement perching. That is, flying to any perch I happen to be on and displacing me. I do still get to sneak some of his food. He has some nicely shaped pellets that make for foraging fun.

Poirot is still under the weather and taking a cocktail of antibiotics. When he gets really uncomfortable he pulls out his feathers, which turns him into a nervous wreck. Nighttime is particularly bad for him, especially the last few nights. The vet and Mama are in contact all the time and now we're going to see if these current drugs help him. He is being a trooper though and at times you'd never know he was sick.

Not much going on here. Dad finaly fixed the house AC. It had a leak he could not find. He called a friend of his in AC yesterday. It took both of them 3 hrs to find a minute leek in a small copper tube. They had to silver weld it. It was iffy if it could be welded but it worked.
Us birds have our own window AC so we were ok with the 94* weather. Scarlett
