I was adopted from a going out of business bird breeder. She would keep me if no one else wanted me, but one day a woman came in looking for a compain for a lovebird. I was taken in to a house with 9 other birds. There, in a cage, was my new buddy Alfred. We had fun over the summer, and saw a lot of the woman's daughter and her friends. There was a silly blonde one who laughed a lot. Little did I know she would be my future owner. September came in, and into a school we went. Into a smaller cage we went too. Everything at first was awesome. The kids hovered over us, and always offered to feed us and give uss water. The teacher also made sure the reckless boys didn't try to harm us. But in the middle of October, the teacher left. In her place was a nice woman, put she wasn't a bird lady. The kids began to shake my tiny cage. Alfred began spending more and more time cowaring in his little corner. One day I got tired of it, and one of the birds stuck his pudgie little finger into the cage. I struck, biting it, but not hard. The boy laughed."Hey guys," he chuckled."Let's let the stupid bird bite us." This went on for about two months. Then they stopped caring at all. The previously hovering crowd vanished. We had a filfthy cage, yucky water, and no owner. We sang preety songs, but always were told to be quiet, and had towels thrown upon us. Worst of all, no one knew my name.I was so sad. Then one day, a girl came up to the cage in early December. "Yuck." she said. "This cage hasn't been cleaned since September. And look the water! It's Orange!" She immediatly changed it. It went like that till Christmas break. That girl, caring for us. I now rembered her as the silly girl from that summer. Then during Christmas break, The girl took us home. She let us out, cleaned our cage, and one day, declared us hers. This was my first real home in my 1 and a half years. After that, the good stuff started. First came the big cage. Then the piles of treats and toys. Swings, bells, ladders, and even rings to climb through and shred. Then theres those chinese finger traps. Man, those are fun to knaw on. With the bigger cage came bigger food bowls, which meant more baths. And then there's are neighbor, Nibby the Piggy. She is the guinea pig downstairs. We vist her sometimes. She's lonely now after her friends died. So to wrap it all up, don't underestimate the power of God and fate.. Awards
