  Hi Rika,
You sure are a great looking White-Capped! (I'm a Maximillian's Pionus.) Am flying by to leave you a vote and humbly ask that you fly by my site today to vote for me. I'm a candidate for BOTD tomorrow, which has me so excited that I can barely keep my chest feathers together! Sure would appreciate your support. Have a great treat-filled day -- and, hopefully, I'll see you at the castle tomorrow for even more fun! (Actually, I'm hoping we Pi's can all get together and teach the other guys the Pionus Strut. Wouldn't that be awesome!?)

Come visit me, Beowulf.

  Hello Rika!
Prince Cleo here. Thank you for helping me to achieve this honor and by royal proclamation, and by several requests, I have decided to ban all cameras for today so there will be no taking pictures or films of any bird. Also, since the wicker was such a huge hit during Sunny's reign, I have decided to give away for your chewing pleasure, a set of wicker chairs, couch and coffee table. The castle is overflowing so come and get yours and dig in! I want to see all of you making a huge mess to honor me today! Sunny is helping me to throw a wonderfully huge party at the castle and since everybirdy should know by now how skilled he is at throwing parties, I expect it will be just outrageous today! We are having a B-B-Q all day and the outdoor pool is open so come and practice your cannonballs! Also, make sure you check out the gigantic statue of me in the botanical gardens made entirely out of popsicle sticks! I am requesting everybirdy to come and help to chew it up before the day is over! This evening there will be a huge bonfire and marshmallow roast and all the wicker shreds (if any left...hehehehehehe) shall be thrown into the fire! Make sure that you come and prepare to stay up late!

Prince Cleo

Come visit me, In loving memory of my beloved Joey, Cleo, Chicklet, Poppy, Jazz & Sunny.

Thanks Pretty Birds Rika and Kiwi! v4u!!!
Thank you birdie friends and family for pecking a vote and enabling me to be Birdchannel’s Bird of the Day! Only one glitch: the castle staff had to re-adjust the crown … King Sly’s head was a bit larger than mine!!! Hehehehe … no problem! Once that was done I was good to go and waddle about the castle and chew on some royal wood. Wow what a place!!! To celebrate the day, and to THANK YOU, Queen “Dusty” and I are hosting a fun Texas Style BBQ. My good friend and Wonder Wings Co-Captain Pico will be an honored guest … he nominated me for this prestigious award … what a pal!!! There is food, drink, fun and games galore! Also, a little birdie told me the “Dixie Chicks” might make a surprise visit!!! So, put on your cowboy boots, grab your flock, your family and your friends and come on down and stay until they kick us out! Yeeee Ha! What a great day!!!! Thank you! With love, your buddy Sam

What a Grand & Glorious Day it was in the Castle!
It all began with a midnight bequeathment of the Crown from KIng Zebers to myself. At that hour, one would think I'd be tired and ready to retire to the Royal Chambers but I was far too excited to think about sleep so I willingly agreed to a tour of the Castle's interior

Exiting the Throne Room, I was led down a long hallway, opulently decorated in rich brocades and intricately carved furniture (with not a beak mark on it). The walls were adorned with the portraits of the many who have worn the crown and walked the halls before me: HRG Finnegan, Queen Popeye, King Floop, just to name a few. Approaching the massive doors of the Great Hall, I could almost hear the music and laughter that has often emanated from there. At the hour of the night I saw it, the hall was strangely dark and oddly quiet. Continuing on the down the corridor, I got a glimpse of the Dining Hall and the Library as well as the Breakfast Atrium and the Jungle Room. The climb up the Grand Staircase brought me to the second floor, a level filled with many a room finely decorated to meet every imaginable desire. The Brazilian Rosewood Room caught my eye with its rich dark woods and plush furnishings. When my eyes lingered on the inviting scene, it was suggested that perhaps I might like to retire for what was left of the night. Words elude me to describe how sweet my slumber was in the remaining hours of last night. Never before has a young Zon had sweeter dreams!
As dawn peeked through the windows come daybreak, I was tempted to stay put in the comfort of the Royal Chamber, but knowing there's little time to waste in a one day stay at the Castle, I bounded from my bed, ready to enjoy the honor of being a King to the fullest. The floor in the room must have sensors in it for as soon as my feet touch the Persian rug, amazing things began to happen. The drapes whisked back to reveal a breath-taking view of the Royal Grounds, Mahatma & Ghandi trumpeted the break of the new day, and a soft knock at the door foretold the arrival a wee bird, announcing the entrance of my gal Jennifer Lynn. In this romantic setting, I fully expected to see her adorned in silk and lace with accessories of pearls and gems. Instead she was wearing her not-so-concealed weapon and carrying a bottle of Scotch she said needed protecting. Behind her followed a procession of Castle attendants, each bearing a tray loaded with every imaginable morsel. I couldn't help but notice the succulent papaya and hot roasted peanuts and instantly thought of Grady and Macalune who had hoped that those favorite treats would be a part of my day. Veronica, Toby and Snowball would definitely be pleased there were so many options for their King to choose from.

Come visit me, Alfie.

With nary a moment to linger over breakfast, an attendant announced the readiness
of the waiting throng of well wishers so, balancing my crown on my head, I proceeded to the State Room where I was greeted by the accolades of many dear friends. The fine 'Tiel Romeo, the gracious Grendel and his flock, as well as Cleo and his friends were among the first. The smiling Ethyl was a delight to greet as she proclaimed this day "KIng Alfie Day". As Scooter approached, I noted that she appeared uncomfortably warm and spoke with an attendant (Rainbow) about seeing to the adjustment of the temperature in the room. I wanted my guests to be as comfortable as possible. The well wishes of the young Martini, Mayo & his beautiful flockmates, Macalune, as well as Rocket and his impressive family added to the joy of the morning as did the congratulations from the darling Emily, the lovely Kacey and her sister, and Gus and his sweet sister. An added delight was the best wishes from the Castle's previous Queen Meiko as well as those from Prince Baby, the Zon destined to inherit the throne after me. A surprise visit from the lovely Miss Maxie the Wonderbird served to heighten the jubilation of the hour.
Though it seemed hardly but a few minutes had past, I suddenly realized it was the noon hour as the Castle Sentries trumpeted the arrival of the Royal Chariot, sent forth by Sir Romeo. With a wave of appreciation to my morning guests, I was then carried off towards the Royal Gardens to where the finest of lunches was to be served on the Grand Gazebo overlooking Christy Lake. In route, the cheers of the masses were heard, above them all, the voices of HRG Finnegan and Miss Lucy Blue

Joining Jenny and I for lunch was the lovely Miss Sugar, the dear friend who dared to nominate me as a future king. Her friend (and mine) Ceasaur was also seated at the table that overlooked the lake and it's family of Royal Swans with their six young cygnets. A finer spread could not have been dreamed of, I assure you.

Come visit me, Alfie.

The afternoon was spent soaring over the Castle grounds, viewing the many sights and wonders contributed by former Kings and Queens. As evening approached, another small gathering of friends and well-wishers were greeted, this time in the Grand Atrium. As music played and refreshments were served (by the gracious Miss Kelly and the hovering Zoren) , I had the privilege of meeting with Falco and Willie, a fine young 'Tiel I must say I see as a future king, the gorgeous Miss Rika and her flockmate Kiwi, and the soon-to-be-crowned-BOTM MANU. Mango too was there, an acquaintance I'd thought of while eating lunch by the lake; I'd imagined him tempted to don swim gear for a dip in the royal waters! While my gal served up the well-guarded distilled spirits to friend Floop and Romeo, I asked the stunning Miss Sunny if she would join me for a dance in celebration of this wonderful day. With a happy heart, I waltzed her about among the gathered well-wishers, stopping only when I had to adjust my crown, it having slipped off to the side in the exuberance of the dancing. Winking at my friend Kiddo, I straightened the Royal adornment, thinking to myself that I too could quite possibly get accustomed to balancing this coronet, just as my friends Poirot and Pringle had expressed when they'd greeted me. When once again properly attired, I thanked Sunny for the dance.

Realizing the hours were fast dwindling away, I thanked my guest for coming to the Castle to celebrate with me with a toast to all who shared a vote on my behalf the previous day. Then, with a wing around my Jenny Lynn, I bide my friends farewell.

As Jen locked up the last of the precious royal liquids, I took one last stroll through the Castle's halls, listening to the quiet of the greatness there. Many wonderful birds have been here before me. Many wonderful ones are destined to come. The privilege of this chance for myself will not soon be forgotten.

As the Great Clock chimed it's midnight calling, I reached up and removed my crown, placing it gently and reverently on the satin pillow in readiness for the next King of the Day. With a smile of gratitude, I turned and walked out the Great Doors, a commoner again among the greats of the BC.

Thank you, friends, for this memorable experience. Alfie King for a Day, Once Upon a Time...

Come visit me, Alfie.

  Hi Rika
After reading all of the comments listed I have to agree that you are a beautiful bird. Hope you are having fun on the BC. I have been here almost 2 years and have met a ton of new friends. I try to keep in touch with any Hahns Macaws I meet as the big and beautiful Macaws dominate this place. If your mom has the time have her look at the Hyacinth Macaw, blue in color, biggest of the Macaws and they cost about $14,000. Too rich for my mom and dad. Here is a vote for you. Hope you will find the time to stop by and leave me a vote. Give Kiwi birdy hugs and kisses.
