 I was in a really big pet store with all the other birds. I didn't like where we were set up, way in the back of the store in a darkened corner. Barely anyone who worked there ever came back there. Because the pet store was in a very busy mall, there were always mean people coming in and poking at me and the other birds, but especially me. One day, my mommy (before she was my mommy) was there when 3 older teenage boys came in with a long, scary, pokey toy that made scary noises (bad words), and started poking and teasing me with it. They thought it was very funny, but I didn't. My mommy gave them mean looks until they went away. Then she stayed and talked to me very nicely. She began coming back every day. She wanted to protect me and spend some nice time with me. She thought I always looked so sad and that made her sad. Then one day she came with a man and she looked soooo happy. I was taken out of my cage and she held me, I was so good for her. Then I went home. Mommy and daddy call me their little rescue bird...I think they are right. I love my new home and I never get poked any more.. |

Hello from the Oklahoma Gang
Hello Everybirdie, Mom took Dad to Dr. this morning. I have another LIMERICK OF THE DAY: ............. .....................A chicken once trusted most animals...... ...................... Especially, a hawk known as Hannibal. ............. ....... Till one moonlit night,....... ............. ............. ............. ........ the hawk picked a fight, ............. ............ presenting himself, as true cannibal. ............. ........... (Dedicated to my friends Ginger, Emma, Kluckie and Nugget, The Chickens, from Somewhere, MI) (3-18-08) .....We had a great day yesterday and are sleeping while it rains today....We are all OK and we love you. That story brings a tear to my eye. I have worked in many pet stores, and have seen things like that all the time. However because of "customer service" you can't say anything without fear of angering the shopper!? (or the boss.) I have given in many a time, I can't help it. I wish that something could be done! But on a better note I love your birds name, very original! May I ask what it means? Please visit me and my babies...Come visit me, Sirona, Trance & Frankie.

Tuki says welcome
Dear Nahahni, I have a funny name, too. My first dad says Tuki is the hebrew word for bird or parrot. What does your name mean? I live with my first dad's daughter and her family, 2 teenage girls and her husband. He is scared of me but let me come live there any how! I also own a boxer and a cat. They are curious about me and can't figure out whey I can talk and they can not. I say all kinds of things, some in my first dad's voice, some like my new mom. I call for family members by saying Come Here and their names. It is pretty funny. Welcome to the birdchannel. There are lots of nice birds to talk to. ♥ TukiCome visit me, Tuki.
