 jack is daisy's mate, and you just can't take one and not the other. apparently, daisy was not receptive to jack at first, and he had to work really hard to woo her. now they're inseparable - and so good for each other! it's soooo cute to see him cleaning her belly feathersfor her. we all hope that she gets out of that collar one of these days! to take daisy and not jack would have hurt both birds... jack's a magnificant little bird, and quite the little lover!!. |

Joey back at you with another vote! Yes, we know what you mean about breeding birds only to sell them to pet stores and from there to negelectful homes. That was always a concern that mom had too. She would be so fussy about who would get any chicks she would raise! she probably wouldn't want to part with any of them! Chicklet, mom's BE2 just laid another egg today at 12:39 pm. That makes #4 for her so far. she will only lay them in mom's hand on her lap underneath her sweater. She is such a sweet 'too! Very demanding when in breeding mode! She loves mom, but at this time of the year, she falls in love with her. hehehe. Mom hopes that is it, but last year she laid 5! The average BE2 clutch is 4, but Chicklet is full of surprises! We have nothing but hormonal hens in the house! Mom worries a bit about Poppy as she doesn't seem to want to stop with the egg laying. She is so intent on being a mom! Poppy may have to go on a strict diet to curb those hormones, but mom hopes that she will find a rhythm on her own. Candy was the same way for the first couple of years and then she settled down and would only lay about 5 once a year. I hope Poppy is reading this! ha ha ha. have a great day with the flockatiels!

Joey here with another vote for you! So you guys will be having some 'tiel babies? How sweet! Poppy is very gentle and will let mom remove the eggs from underneath her without much ado. They are not fertile as I am too old now to father chicks, otherwise mom would set us up. I am a good dad! Besides...Poppy loves me, but won't let me mate with her. Hens! Mom uploaded a video called 'Poppy lays her first egg!' here on BC so check it out if you would like to see us. You probably have the same thing happening there! Have a great evening with the flock!

With another vote for you. Mom knows what you mean about wanting to rescue every birdie possible. It is too bad that people don't realize how wonderful us little guys and all birds are! We are bird addicts. Chicklet is in breeding mode and just laid an egg on the 1st. She is very amourous right now and wants mom's undivided attention. She lays the eggs in her hand on her lap under her sweater. Poppy is also sitting on 5 eggs and mom wishes she would settle down on the egg laying and not overdo it. Mom put a white plate with a gold rim on it in her cage and put the eggs on that so she could be more comfortable when she is sitting. She looks like a little grey tart! She is so cute! Hi again!
Joey here and mom knows what you mean about rescuing birds from bad owners. she has done that with many over the years. All of us have never had the misfortune to suffer in a bad home and we are glad to have a pet human that is so easy to tame! I just celebrated 18 years with mom on Jan. 30th and will be 19 in June. fly by anytime to chat as we love the company. Here is another vote for you!
