Hi! My name is Bailey

I am a Congo African Grey from Elk City, OK.

Bailey Boop

8 years old   F

Congo African Grey

Chow Mein noodles, popcorn, almonds

Couch and the kitchen floor

I cannot fly. I try so very very hard but I pick my wings and my feathers are tattered. This is because my former owner (breeder) clipped my wings improperly when I was just a few weeks old. (Animal cruelty if you ask me!) I am working on growing them back but having little success thus far. My people love me just the way I am... even if I never ever can fly or have beautiful feathers!

My mom lets me help her put her makeup on and dry her hair everyday. She lets me help her cook and taste things. She holds me for hours on end.

She thinks she has to be standing with one foot on each of one half of her ball toy when she's out of her cage playing on the couch.
She likes to stand on top of the airconditioner vent and "air out" her "under wings".

  I finally learned to fly!
Hi, I'm Bailey. Since I came to live with my mother, I have never been able to fly. The people who had me when I was a tiny baby clipped my wings way too short. Ever since then, I have been chewing on them and on my tail. I finally let my wings grow out long enough that I can fly just a little bit. I flew for the first time in my life tonight! It was only about 3 ft. and I got about 8 inches into the air but my mother is sooo proud of me! I'm finally growing up now and even though 2 1/2 yrs. old, I have just learned to fly today1

Come visit me, Bailey.
