Persus was rescued from abandonment. He was allegedly rejected by his parents and raised by a neglectful and cruel man who fed him inappropriately and treated him horribly, which resulted in malnutrition, stress bars in his plumage, and blindness in one eye. Percy was then passed onto an utter creep (and can you believe a teacher of animal studies) who hoards and collects animals (even those that are illegal in this country) and unethically passes them off to anyone who wants them (even if they do not hold required license for specific species) with little concern for their future treatment. Percy was then dumped onto someone I know first hand, who is also an alleged 'animal lover' (she was being taught Animal Handling by the jerk at TAFE i.e. college), even though she did not want him. I saw Percy one day while I was visiting her and told her I’d take him off her hands. I rushed him to the bird vet and was fighting back tears as I found out how sick the little guy was and what a horrible start to life he must have had. He had to be treated for trichomoniasis, clamydia, and severe malnutrition. Percy is now happy, healthy and spoilt (just like ALL BIRDS should be).. |

I am a Rainbow Lory from Sydney NSW Australia, AP.
 Persus Two, Persus 500, Percepunzel, Percy Perce, Perce, Persah, Ervash, Vash, Va, Berbups, Berbups Boo, Berse and Bernse, Bernsan, Bersa, and my feet are called Dootsis. The list is ever growing as mum continually finds new ways to express her love for me.

I like dried fruit pieces, grapes, peas and corn, fresh apple, mashed banana with dry mix and mum hopes to extend this in the near future as I am accepting more and more things to eat!
 Outside in my big home on the veranda, in my night time home when it's night, late afternoon, overcast or raining and scary outside, and any where mum goes in my portable home or on her shoulder!
 When my mum spends time with her native foster-feathere- d kids, when she should be spending all her time with me! When mum forces me to eat healthy fresh fruit when all I want to eat is dry mix! When I see something that I want and can't have, like a glass of soda! When the wild Rainbow Lorikeets that have taken up residency in my garden sing over me or don’t talk back to me at all! when mum sweeps the veranda! I hate that scraping noise! oh and I HATE plastic bags, if anyone picks one up and I hear that crinkly noise I SCREAM my head off!
 The fact that first and foremost she doesn’t own me. In fact if any one owns anyone, its I that own her! But in reality I am her son, so no one owns anyone, as we are a family. I also love her because she takes me on all the holidays she goes on (even to the beach and wine tasting, although I’m not allowed to actually taste the wine!), she worries to heck about my health and safety, spoils me and my older brother Yoogoos rotten, and the fact that she loves me unconditionally and saved me from a horrible life!
 Percy has a lot of 'Percy-nality'. He prefers his bedtime home to his open play gym and will not sleep in his outside home, he likes to poke his tongue out at everyone and will hiss at new toys in excitement, especially those that are red! He prefers boring processed dry mix to fresh fruit and wholesome home cooking (I blame this on the creep that hand reared him), he makes a funny slurping noise every now and then, the vet tells me it's just behavorial (I think he might be trying to imitate my kissing noises), he can talk a few human words, he imitates the sound of water perfectly, and makes this noise when anyone turns on a tap or pours liquid!.

Sorry your mom is so sick, we hope she will be better soon. I see you have a bowl of foot toys. So do Fenway and I. We love having a bowl of toys. Mom picks them up all the time too! She also has to was them off all the time. Hee hee more work for her. She changed our juice and nectar to a glass water bottle and Fenway and I think it is fun to eat out of but Gideon was afraid of it so mom took his out. Mom like them because there is less mess. Haven't heard from you, so we thought we would see what you were up to. How was your stay at the castle? We hope that you had a fantastic time. Hopefully, everything is back to normal now that you're back home.
Spring has finally reached our area. We've got to go outside a few times and enjoy the weather. Ruby thinks that the outside birds want her to join them in singing,
but she scares them when she starts and they get very quiet. HeHe.

Hi Perce
Day 2 of our honeymoon trip was even more fantastic than our plane ride. SweetPepper, Codie, Peanut, Jack, Apollo and I landed in Melbourne very early and Jack immediately took us on a whirlwind tour of his city. We started with the Maits Rest Rainforest for the greenest spot ever!! Next stop was the Great Ocean Road Tour with amazing sights of enormous trees and incredible rock formations in the ocean surf. From there we headed over to Phillip Island for the penguin parade. Those guys are so cute!! And they also have koalas and kangaroos. Very cool!! Next stop was the Domaine Chandon Winery for a wine tasting (yes, Jack drank too much and made a scene...oh well, that is Jack and I am sure their chandeliers will be easily fixed.) We also had a tour of their Old English Style Gardens. So many flowers!! We finished up in Melbourne proper with a trolley ride tour and then took the ferry for a fantastic view of the Melbourne skyline. Once we got back to Jack's place he showed us around the local park, and guess what!! There were a pair of wild Rosies just hanging out in the park and chilling. They were very friendly, and we had a lovely chat. I kept an eye on Jack to make sure he didn't get any ideas! A fantastic day was finished off perfectly back at Jack's house with a nice treat buffet. What a wonderful day it was. Jack is certainly a terrific host, and we all loved Melbourne. Thank you, Jack, you are the best tour guide a birdy could ask for.
Next stop is Sydney where we will be visiting our dear friend Jivu. I am sure it will be just as much fun as Melbourne.

Hi King Persus
Well, we are off on our honeymoon, and it is already a wonderful experience. We spent our wedding night in the bridal suite of the Ritz Carlton in Los Angeles sipping champagne (sorry, no details). After a sumptuous breakfast this morning, the six of us (SweetPepper, me, Codie, Peanut, Jack & Apollo) headed to LAX to board our flight to Melbourne. John Travolta rejoined us to be captain of our flight, and Olivia Newton John headed up our wonderful team of flight attendants. We were served cognac and hors d'eorves as we waited to depart, then luscious sweets at the plane took off. We are in the air for our long flight to Melbourne, home for Jack and Apollo, but the first leg of a wonderful honeymoon trip for SweetPepper and me along with our dear friends Codie and Peanut. I have a question for you. Where did you find that great background and crown? Some birdies want me to help them with their crowns and my mom doesn't know where to look. All we know of is pikipimp and they only have one crown and that ones getting boring! So if you could help me out, that would be great!!!!
