It's me again...Buddy! Yes, I know there are other ways to keep a bird occupied...but getting into trouble is so much more fun. Especially when I can blame it on Clyde! (mom always believes me anyway...she calls Clyde "A.D.D. bird". I guess it's the cockatoo in us that makes us so mischeivous. My Meyer's Parrot brother doesn't get into any trouble at all. Love your pictures! You're a little ham for the camera, aren't you!? I've been a bad bird these past 2 days. I've been getting into everything and trying to blame it on Clyde but mom keeps catching me in the act. oops! Yesterday my brother Clyde escaped the cage. He then came over to break me out of birdie prison too. Mom caught him as he took off the combination lock and dropped it on the floor. I haven't mastered getting the combination lock off myself so I was really encouraging Clyde to hurry up before 'she' came into the room! Well that one backfired! Clyde and I try to act as a team to get what we want but mom keeps catching us in the act! Geez, what's a bird to do!? Talk to you later. let me know how the veggies are working for you and if your mom has any sneaky ways of getting you to eat them. I think some veggies are yukky....but some like corn and broccoli.....YUM! You don't like your fruits and veggies either? Mom hides my seeds in with my food. That way I at least have to move it out of the way to get my seeds. I'm getting better though. She put some squash baby food on my breakfast and I loved it! I had to lick it off the seeds before I could eat them. ~Taz michelle, rochester, IN.

Before your mom gives up on your fruits & veggies....hold on! I used to be very finicky too (sometimes I still am). Mom read in her parrot book to keep trying the fruits and veggies different ways. Like maybe warm them up in the micro a bit. Cut them differently. Hide them in different places. Those suggestions might help. Keep trying different things with the fruits and veggies....sometimes it takes a month of trying! Your mom might find out that you just have a quirky habit...and she has to play detective to find it! I don't know what I don't like about the color red. Maybe it was something in the previous 2 homes I had. My mom wore a red sweatshirt one day after I first came here and I was inconsolable. I just screamed and fluffed up my feathers every time she even came close. My mom thought maybe it was the sweatshirt so she went upstairs and put on another one. She came back downstairs and I loved her again. Go figure! Now if we have company, mom tells everyone to NOT wear red. Just sends me over the top! (by the way, it's one of my inner most secrets....it's a little embarrassing to be quite so neurotic! Good thing my mom loves me!) Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams. Your flock mate, Sammy, visited me yesterday so I'm visiting you today! Tell Sammy thanks for the kind words of encouragement (regarding my feather plucking capabilities). Maybe this e-collar will work this time. Mom is certainly crossing her fingers. Me - I can't wait til the dang thing comes off!
