First Inning
First up for the Pois team is their pitcher, the inestimable Hulk, who slugs out a triple to start things off with a bang. However Keets pitcher, Bellatrix, has no intentions of taking this lying down and she strikes out Ollie, the Pois catcher 1, 2, 3. Beaker steps up and gets a single bringing in Hulk, but Bellatrix tightens up and strikes out both Kaji and Ginger to leave Beaker stranded on first and bring the Keets up to bat.
Bellatrix grounds out on her first trip to the plate, but then Willie gets on base with a single. Jude smacks one high and long, but just not long enough as it is snatched out of the air by Center Fielder, Cheyenne for the 2nd out for the Keets. Spirit Cloude (my handsome adopted son) shows his stuff with a powerful triple which scores Willie for the Keets first run, but then he is left stranded when Budweiser’s hit is fielded by Kaji at 2nd base for a ground out and the 3rd and final out on the 1st inning.

Second Inning
The 2nd inning starts off very badly for the Pois with a swift three up and three down leaving Gizmo, Hal and Cheyenne singing the blues from a fly out, a strike out and a ground out sending the Keets in to try to take advantage of this break.

However both Bentley and Pearl are struck out by a very determined Hulk. Charlie Keet steps up to the plate and hunkers down to swing and smacks out a very nice double. Miss Ronnie gets on base with a single, but then both she and Charlie are left on base when Paddy Cake hits a very high fly straight up and down into the mitt of Pois’ catcher, Ollie for the final out of a
scoreless Inning #2.

Third Inning
The 3rd inning seems to be more of the same when Bellatrix faces Leah, and in spite of her head feathers flaring manages to strike her out in 3 swift pitches, but then Calico shows some of the stuff the Champion Pois brought to the field in the past with a mighty Home Run! Pitcher, Hulk, faces the same fate as Leah when he strikes out, but then Ollie gets on base with a single only to be left there when Beaker is retired after a full count goes the way of the Keets, and the Pois are sent to the outfield again.

Bellatrix steps up to the plate, lays into the bat and swings; it is high and it is long. Could it be? No! Leah in right field (still furious over being struck out) leaps up and snags the ball out of the air for the 1st out for the Keets. However Willie gets on base with a single, and then Jude does the same. Spirit Cloude is struck out by Hulk, but then Budweiser scores Willie when he gets off a double, and Bentley brings in Jude with a single. When Pearl hits one way up in the stratosphere it is caught by Hal in left field for the final out of the 3rd leaving Budweiser and Bentley standing on 1st and 3rd.

Fourth Inning
As seems to be a pattern here today, the 4th inning gets under way with an out when Kaji grounds out to 1st and the glove of Jude. However Ginger brings in another Home Run for the Pois evening out the score and bringing a mighty cheer from the stands. Gizmo gets on base with a walk from a slightly rattled Bellatrix, who ruffles her feathers, hunkers down and promptly strikes out Hal. A determined Cheyenne steps up and swings; it’s a triple, scoring Gizmo to once again give us a tie game. Leah steps up to bat and when she flares her head feathers at little Bellatrix gets a walk out of the intimidated Keet, much to the annoyance of the Keets team. Not to let anybirdy think she can be stared down, Bellatrix regains her self-confidence and fiercely strikes out poor Calico with three fast balls that sizzle over home plate to bring the Keets up to bat.

However it is now the Keets’ turn for three up and three down when Charlie Keet flies out, Miss Ronnie grounds out and another fly off the bat of Paddy into the glove of Ginger on third base ends the inning with the Pois in the lead for the first time.

Fifth Inning
The 5th inning starts with a bang for the Pois as Hulk steps up to the plate and slams out a Homer for his team. However things take a turn when Ollie flies out to the glove of Pearl in left field. Beaker gets on base with a walk after a talon biting 3/2 full count, and Kaji (my best friend, you know!!) brings him on home for 2 runs as he smacks out the second Home Run of the inning. That’s it for this time at bat for the Pois though, as Ginger flies out to Spirit Cloude at 2nd, and Gizmo grounds out to Bentley at 3rd.

Bellatrix comes up to bat for the Keets and gets on base with a single. Willie grounds out, but that advances Bellatrix to 2nd on the ground out rule, and Jude brings her on home to score when he swings and connects for a triple. Spirit Cloude scores Jude when he gets on base with a single, and he runs over home plate when Budweiser smacks out another triple for the Keets’ team. Bentley is struck out by Hulk, who is getting fed up with the little guys being able to hit his pitches so well, but then he walks Pearl and pitches a triple to Charlie Keet to score both Budweiser and Pearl. However when Miss Ronnie grounds out to Kaji on 2nd base, Charlie Keet is left stranded on 3rd and the inning is over. It is still a very close game, baseball fans.

Sixth Inning
The 6th inning once again starts with an out as Hal hits a grounder right into the glove of Jude at 1st. Cheyenne then flies out to Paddy Cake at Short Field, but Leah gets on base with a single. Bellatrix walks Calico moving Leah to 2nd, and Hulk hits a single to load the bases. Looks like it is the Pois’ chance to take over the lead, but then Ollie’s high, high, high hit is snagged out of the air by Charlie Keet at Center Field right at the wall for the 3rd out for the Pois.

Paddy steps up for the Keets and gets on base when Hulk walks him. Bellatrix hits a single, and then both Paddy Cake and Bellatrix score along with Willie when he slams out a Home Run and clears the bases. Jude steps out, and since he liked Willie’s homer so much decides to hit one of his own! Spirit Cloude is struck out by a very disgruntled Hulk, but then Budweiser gets on base with a single to be followed by more of the same from Bentley and then Pearl to load the bases. Charlie Keet gets a walk out of Hulk who seems a bit rattled, and Budweiser crosses the plate. Bases are still loaded. Miss Ronnie is struck out as Hulk gets his mojo back, but then loses it again as he walks Paddy Cake and Bentley scores. The bases are still loaded, and so when Bellatrix comes up to bat and hits the ball so hard I swear the wrapping came off, it is high and gone right over the wall for a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN!! That is the first one I have called this season, and the Keets bench is going wild!!! Pearl, Charlie Keet and Paddy are all cheering Bellatrix as they lead the way and she takes her bases. Willie starts things off again with a nice triple, but then Jude grounds out when his hit is fielded neatly by Beaker at 1st and the inning is over. But what an inning it was!!!

Seventh Inning
Finally!! The 7th inning doesn’t start with an out, but a single from the bat of Beaker who then comes on home off of Kaji’s triple. Ginger grounds out to Jude on 1st, but then Kaji crosses the plate when Gizmo steps up and smacks one right out of the park for a Home Run for the Pois. Hal gets on with a single and moves to 2nd on Cheyenne’s walk. Leah appears to be determined and ready to run as she hunches over home plate and swings: strike! She gets even lower and swings: strike! She swivels her hips and crouches so low her strike zone has almost disappeared and she swings: Crack! It is high, long and gone over the wall for a Home Run that brings in both Cheyenne and Hal for three! Leah definitely has a smirk on her face as she rounds the bases. The Pois are really heating up now, and Calico proves it with a triple followed by a double by Hulk which brings in Calico. Ollie once again hits it high and long, but this time is denied by Miss Ronnie in right field and the 2nd out of the inning. Beaker gets on with a single and Kaji does the same. When Ginger follows up with a single of her own, the bases are loaded. The scene is set for the Pois to take this game back from the Keets. Gizmo steps up to the plate and smacks it a few times with his bat. He flexes and stretches and when Bellatrix sends him a fast ball he connects and it flies and…..Ouch! Once again Charlie in Center Field leaps and snatches the ball before it can go over the fence. These Keets fielders are playing some mighty fine defense here today. That’s out #3 for the Pois, and the Keets are coming in to bat with a sigh of relief. That was 5 runs for the Pois this inning and puts their spirit back into the game.

The Keets start out with a single from Spirit Cloude, but then Budweiser flies out to the glove of Ginger on 3rd. Bentley moves Spirit Cloude to 3rd with his double, but then Pearl flies out to Gizmo at short stop. Charlie Keet steps up to the plate and swings on Hulk’s fast ball, connects and sends it right over the wall!! His Home Run scores both Spirit Cloude and Bentley for three. Miss Ronnie gets on base with a walk, and Paddy Cake does the same, but then the inning is over when Bellatrix’s high pop up fly is snatched by the mitt of catcher Ollie.

Eighth Inning
Well, things are looking a bit different after that inning, but you never know what will happen next in Birdy BazBol, sports fans. Beaker once again starts this inning, and again he gets on base with a single. It looks like that first play of the inning jinx is broken for the Pois, and Kaji is so revved he smacks out a triple to score Beaker. Ginger swings and connects, but her grounder is fielded at 1st by Jude. Gizmo steps up and shows us how it’s done as he connects for a Home Run that brings Kaji across the plate as well for two more. Hal is on base with his single, and then he moves to 2nd when Bellatrix walks Cheyenne. Leah is definitely feeling her Wheaties after her triple last inning, so she decides to go one better and smacks the ball right over the wall for three more when she brings in Hal and Cheyenne. The Pois bench is going crazy, and the crowd is screaming! And would you look at the smirk on Leah's face now! Calico hits a triple to start things going again, and she crosses home off of Hulk’s double. Poor Ollie, still in search of his own homer swings and connects only to be denied once again, this time by Miss Ronnie at the wall for out #2. Beaker is on with a single, followed by another from Kaji. Ginger also gets on base with a single, and they are all loaded up and ready. Gizmo hits a high, hard and fast one right out over center field where it is caught by the glove of Charlie Keet to end the Pois streak at 8 runs bringing them with one of the Keets.

Willie approaches the plate with a determined look in his eye, but he grounds out to Beaker at 1st, and then Jude does the same in almost a mirror of Willie’s at bat. Spirit Cloude is not going to let this game get away from them (that’s my boy), and he connects for a triple. Budweiser’s single scores S.C., and then another Keets’ Home Run from the bat of Bentley, this time scores two when both he and Budweiser cross the plate. Pearl’s single puts her on base, but then she is left standing there when Charlie’s high fly is fielded by Hal for the final out of the inning. Things are much closer now, sports fans.

Ninth Inning
The Pois are humming with eggcitement now. They can feel a buzz from their fans in the stands, and they are ready to rock. Hal steps up to the plate. He is feeling really strong after fielding the final out of the last inning, and it shows as he connects for a triple. He crosses home when Cheyenne gets on with a single, but then Leah grounds out to Jude at 1st. However it is not for nothing, because Cheyenne is advanced to 2nd on the ground out rule. Calico’s single moves Cheyenne to 3rd, and when Hulk does the same Cheyenne comes on home for one more. Ollie grounds out, but once again the ground out rule comes in to play and Calico moves to 3rd and Hulk is now on 2nd. When Beaker slams out a triple, both Calico and Hulk score. Kaji steps up to bat and hits his second Home Run of this game!! Beaker and he both add runs to the score board, and then Ginger comes up and gets on base with a single. Gizmo does the same moving Ginger to 2nd. Hal steps up to bat and connects for a high, long one….and it is gone for three more! Ginger and Gizmo are both brought in by Hal’s Home Run. Cheyenne gets on with a nice double. Leah comes to bat and smirks at Bellatrix. Ooh! Not nice! And Bellatrix shows her just what she thinks of that as she sizzles her fast ball over the plate three times in a row to strike out the cocky Hawk- head.

Well, the Pois have taken the lead, so the Keets need to buckle down and take back control of this game. It is bottom of the 9th, and there is no time left to fool around. Miss Ronnie is up first, and she connects with a solid double. Paddy grounds out to Beaker on first, and then Bellatrix hits a high fly which is caught by Leah in Right Field. Looks like she feels that brings her even for that strike out a couple minutes ago. That’s two outs for the Keets, BazBol fans. This is a talon biter. Willie gets on base with a double, moving Miss Ronnie to 3rd. Jude hits a single, and this one scores Miss Ronnie. Spirit Cloude steps out of the dugout and lines up at the plate. Hulk pitches a strike. Next is a ball, and this continues till there is a 3/2 full count. Which way will it go? S.C. connects, but it is a grounder right into the glove of Beaker at 1st base (oh, my son!) and the game is over!

The Pois have won after being down by 11 runs! That just shows their never say die spirit. And can you believe the fine baseball skills of these Keets? They are one amazing ball team.

With our own Da Pois ‘N’ Demalready out on the Field, th’ visitin’ C-2 White Hawks’ first batter steps up t’ th’ plate an’ righteously opens th’ 2013 Birdie BazeBol Season with a Ground Out. Followed by TeamMate Taz, redemtion’s in th’ air as he gets under it for a Triple! Newcomer t’ Birdie BazeBol, Flash, seems a bit cautious but bites enuf o’ th’ ball t’ get t’ first base and sends Taz in for th’ first score o’ th’ Season! Sophie follows with another Single, but that’s all th’ Hawks can put t’gether out o’ th’ startin’ gates this time with th’ next two batter Strikin’ Out. ~~ Fired up by puttin’ a quick end t’ th’ White Hawks first go at th’ game, Da Pois line ‘em up for their first turn at bat. Vet’ran Player, Hulk, starts it off with a Triple! Ollie, wantin’ t’ keep th’ momentum on a more even keel, holds his efforts to a Single, bringin’ Hulk in for th’ first Pois score o’ th’ Season. Beaker follows with a nuther Single when th’ flows disrupted by White Hawk ShortFielder Cappy scoopin’ up a grounder for the first Out this innin’ for Da Pois. Up next is Ginger an’ her Single Loads Up th’ Bases for Da Pois in a fast an’ furious start to this game! Gizmo-the-Grey-Guy looks th’ Hawks’ Pitcher, Oz, straight in her birdie eye ( … act’ally, I think he’s tryin’ t’ DISTRACT ‘er by flirtin’ with ‘er!) and lays int’ her pitch for a Double, scorin’ both Ollie an’ Beaker!! It’s Hal’s turn t’ Load th’ Bases ag’in with ‘is Single. And the next batter in Da Pois lineup is a nuther newcomer t’ Birdie BazeBol, Cheyenne. But I’m wonderin’ if this gal is NOT a newcomer t’ BazeBol in gen’ral!? Confident an’ with a swagger rarely seen in a GIRL Player, she steps up t’ the plate an’ promptly s-m-a-s-h-e-s a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN!!!! Count ‘em BazeBol Fans … FOUR runs for th’ Home Team! Leah’s next with Single, followed by a Strike Out. Hulk takes a swing and connects for a nuther Single an’ Ollie does the same. But that’s gonna be it for our Pois for their first run at scorin’ as the next batter closes out th’ first innin’ with a Ground Out.

Second Inning
Puffin picks up th’ battin’ order where th’ Hawks left off and starts ‘er Team off with a Single. On his first time at bat, Picabo steps straight into it an gets ‘is Team their first Home Run o’ th’ day, bringin’ Puffin along with. But our Pois’ve got something t’ lose now, an’ they don’t plan on lettin’ their lead slip away. On th’ next pitch, Da Pois’ Leah comes flyin’ in ( … well … not FLYIN’ in. That ain’t allowed. But y’uns know what I mean … ) and pockets the fly ball from th’ next Hawk’s batter. Oz tries t’ get somethin’ goin’ for th’ Team with a Single next, but a Ground Out snuffs the effort for th’ innin’. ~~ WHAT’s THIS?! I can’t b’lieve my EYES. After an amazin’ first innin’ our Pois go Three Up – Three Down in th’ second innin’!

Third Inning
Things seem to’ve gotten real quiet in th’ second innin’ here at KEVLAR Memorial Stadium. Let’s us hope that they pick up some … and SOON!
First batter up for th’ White Hawks gets ‘is hit scooped right up by Da Pois ShortShop, Gizmo. Sophie’s
not gonna let it discourage her though. Big as ya please, she smacks th’ ball right over the RightField
Fence and scores ‘erself an’ ‘er Team a Homer! But she’s alone in ‘er efforts t’ bring ‘er Team out o’ th’
haze they seem t’ be in an’ batter number four Grounds Out to Pois’ Third Base Bird, Ginger. And the last
batter Strikes Out. ~~ Da Pois don’t seem t’ be able t’ do much better, startin’ out with a Grounder snatched in the glove o’ Hawks Short Stop, Molly. Our Rookie Cheyenne doesn’t fail ‘er Team though. She grabs a piece o’ the ball that gets ‘er all th’ way t’ third base. But she sits out the rest o’ th’ innin’ right there whilst two more batters go down to a Strike Out and a Ground Out.

I’m startin’ t’ feel bad for BOTH Teams! Let’s start makin’ some NOISE out there and doin’ some cheerin’ for your fav’rite Teams an’ Players, BazeBol Fans! They need yer support!!!
We start th’ fourth innin’ with a Walk from White Hawk Puffin. WoW! Th’ FIRST Walk in th’ whole game in th’ FOURTH innin’! Now THAT’s somethin’! When th’ next batter’s hit is snatched up off th’ ground by Pois’ First Base Bird Beaker, Puffin gets a free ride t’ second b’cause of a little thing called “Th’ Ground
Out Rule”. Doo’s up next t’ return Hulk’s pitch with a Double, sendin’ Puffin home for a run scored. Cappy’s contribution is a Single, an’ when Oz Singles too, her hit sends Doo home for th’ White Hawks’ second score o’ th’ innin’. It’s Taz’s turn t’ shine with a Home Run! An’ as ‘e rounds th’ bases, ‘e picks up Cappy an’ Oz t’ come Home with ‘im for a grand total o’ 3 more Runs on his hit. Flash is up next an’ swings for a Single. With th’ next Player’s Ground Out, that Rule comes int’ play ag’in an’ Flash moves t’ second base. Team Coach/Captain Snowball has his turn next and shows ‘is guys how it’s done with a Home Run, scorin’ both him an’ Flash. The next, and last, batter ends th’ White Hawks’ fourth innin’ with a High Fly t’ CenterField where Da Pois’ Cheyenne snags it. ~~ Ohhhhhhh NO!!! It CANNOT be!! *Jake grabs his head with his wingtips and rocks it side to side in disbelief.* Our Pois go Three Up – Three Down … AG’IN! Fifth Inning
This is a game that’s gonna go down in the Birdie BazeBol Hist’ry Books! Let’s get th’ fifth innin’ started, Fids … Th’ innin’ starts off for our Visitors with a grounder immediately covered by Da Pois Pitcher Hulk. With a sense that th’ team seems t’ be settlin’ int’ a rhythm, Picabo starts off the base hits with a Single. Doo follows up th’ same way. Cappy has a little more umph b’hind his swing this time and gets ‘imself t’ Second Base, sendin’ Picabo home for a score, an’ Doo t’ Third Base. Oz just can’t contain nuthin and
swings for dear life! I think that ball is still flyin’, somewheres over th’ fields th’ other side o’ The Hall o’ Fame!!! Count three runs to Oz’s credit!!! Th’ Hawks’re definitely feelin’ stronger as Taz swings for a Double. Flash follows along b’hind with yet a NUTHER Home Run for th’ Hawks this innin’, addin’ two to their fifth innin’ total so far. Da Pois’ Hal has ‘is Meyer’s eyes peeled and makes a stellar grab out in Left Field for th’ next batter. An’ Hulk takes care o’ the last batter for the Hawks on ‘is Pitchin’ talents alone.
~~ I guess th’ White Hawks’ Pitcher Oz is thinkin’ “tit for tat” as she strikes out th’ first Pois up t’ bat in
th’ bottom o’ th’ fifth innin’. But it just may be a diff’rent story as Ginger steps up t’ th’ plate with a
certain look of determination in ‘er eye. It’s a Double! Not bad for such a little Birdie Girl again a way bigger Team. Now it’s Giz, Gizmo, Th’ GizMan who plays th’ ultimate GentleBazeBolBirdMan an’ cracks
th’ bat in th’ process o’ hittin’ ‘is Home Run! An’ he real polite-like picks up Ginger an’ carries over Home
Plate on ‘is shoulder for two runs for Da Pois. (WheW! I was beginnin’ t’ wonder if we was ever gonna get any kind o’ hits ag’in!) It’s Hal’s turn an’ he liked that‘e saw Gizmo do … so ‘e does th’ SAME THING!!

Startin’ off th’ sixth innin’ for th’ White Hawks, Molly gets a good piece o’ th’ ball for a Triple. An easy Single from Puffin brings Molly in for th’ score. We’ve got that Ground Out Rule goin’ on again here as Da Pois’ ShortFielder & Co-Captain Calico snatches up th’ next hit and Puffin moves to second base. Doo’s
up next an’ he manages a Single. But ag’in, Da Pois’ve got good eyes an’ great reflexes an’ the ball falls
right int’ LeftFielder Hal’s glove for Out number two this innin’ for th’ Hawks. Last Hawks batter this
innin’ Grounds Out to turn it over to Da Pois. ~~ MaN! Balls on th’ ground seem t’ be all th’ rage this
game!! Our Pois put one on th’ ground t’ be fielded by th’ White Hawks’ First BaseBird Flash. But, ag’in,
Little Ginger t’ th’ scene t’ get things movin’ with a Triple! Gizmo comes up b’hind ‘er ag’in, but this time
with a Single that sends only her Home for a score. Aaach! Now even th’ White Hawks’ Pitcher Oz’s is in

Eighth Inning
Well, th’ Hawks’re makin’ it clear that they’re not gonna be scared off ‘r give up easy-lik. First batter this innin’, Molly hits a solid Single.
Some Players’re showin’ a little bit o’ pressure though. He PoPs-Up an’ it’s picked off like a bug on a
dog’s b’hind by Pois’ Catcher Ollie. Picabo’s been a solid player this game, an’ when he steps up his
swing gets ‘im a Triple, sendin’ Molly home for a run. Doo, not to be outdone, takes his due with a Homer that score both him and Picabo! The next pitch is caught on the fly, an’ th’ batter after that swings an’’ get nuthin but air three times! ~~ Wheeeee DOGGIES … right at this very minute th’ score’s tied! Let’s see if our Pois have what it takes t’ shake off their earlier boo~boos.
Calico starts of the battin’ order in th’ bottom o’ th’ eighth with a Triple. And then … OoPs …Them ol’grounders’re STILL hangin’ around! First Out for Da Pois in th’ eighth. Determined not to let their opponents get anything over on ‘em, Picabo reaches loooong to pull in the fly just over the CenterField fence. Two Outs on Da Pois. Beaker decides he’s just gonna simmer down an’ take ‘is time, an’ ‘e gets a Walk for ‘is patience. It seems Ev’rybirdy’s got their idears on how this thing is gonna work best. Kaji steps int’ th’ pitch for a Double, sendin’ Calico home for a score. Little Ginger follows suit with Beaker and Walks too, Loadin’ Up th’ Bases for th’ first time for th’ Pois since th’ first innin’. Gizmo puts more energy b’hind his swing an’ come up with a Double, scorin’ Beaker an’ Kaji. Next, Hal’s Triple brings in Ginger an’ Gizmo. (I swear those two must have somethin’ goin’ on, th’ way they hang around Home Plate t’gether!) Cheyenne takes a leisurely Walk down th’ First Base line to wait for the next batter. FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON
Hi fellow Pois, It's Capatin Calico.
Tomorrow, Monday, 12th is the first game of the 2013 Birdie Baseball Season and we're playing the first game, against theC-2 White Hawks.
There will be a pre-game show at 2:30pm eastern time and the game will start at 3:00pm eastern time.
I know we have not had a chance to practice as a team. Kaji and I have been swampped. I'm sure all of you have been practicing on your own and Iknow we'll do a great job. Let's try to make a great showing at the first game of the season.

Hi Birdie Baseball fans,

It’s Captains Calico and Kaji.

First, we want to thank you for signing up with the Pois for the 2013 season. It looks like we have another winning team.

But first, I need some information from you all.

If you played in the 2011 season and want to keep your numbers, let us know and we’ll leave everything as it is. If you want to use new numbers or you have not played before, please send us your 15 numbers as soon as possible. Iyou can pick 15 numbers from 1 to 12. It’s ok to repeat numbers. These numbers are used to play the game. We also need a current picture so we can make up our team. Kaji will take care of the pictures but we need them soon.

Lastly, remember, in order to play, you need to be active on the BC. So, check in to your page often. We will post updates and information, as well as game dates, on your page. So, in order to keep up on everything baseball, you will need to check your page often.

WELCOME BACK TO KEVLAR MEMORIAL STADIUM
where one of the most exciting games of the season was played just yesterday. I think I can still hear the echo of the cheering and screaming of the fans...

This is Game FIVE in our Best of Seven Series. Da Pois ‘N’ Dem have three games to their credit. A win today would make them the 2011 Champions. It doesn’t take an African Grey to figure out what the Pois wanna do today.

With the Mighty Macaws down two games, they need this one to stay in contention for the Turkelton Memorial Trophy. You can bet they’re going to be bringing their absolute best to today’s game.

Before that first pitch is thrown, please join the players and your fellow baseball fans in the singing of the National Anthem~

As the visiting team today, Da Pois are up to bat first. And the first batter has the first out against’m with a strike OUT.
Next up: Kaji and he gets to first on a line drive past third.
Beaker moves Kaji to second on a plug past the short stop.
When Hulk gets to base on four balls, it’s BASES LOADED with POIS!!
It looks like the Pois intend to take this game early! But the Mighty Macaws have other ideas. A bounder cuts straight to short fielder Jasper who drills it to Malachite on first for the OUT. Kaji has rushed on home during the play to give Da Pois their first run. (1)
There’s a bird on 3/2 .... It’s two outs...
MM Ruby’s pitching wing gets the third OUT on three strikes leaving Beaker and Hulk stuck on base.

For the Mighty Macaws, it’s Malachite getting things started with a double.
Pois team work between catcher Ollie and first basebird Beaker get a ground OUT but Malachite has moved safely to second.
A double by Ducky gives Mal the chance to race it on home and she scores the first run for the Macaws! (1) The score is now TIED.
A single from Marley moves Ducky one base closer to home but three strikes doesn’t give her the chance to score. Rio’s double does though. Ducky’s run gives the M.M. the LEAD!
A fly ball, caught by L.F. Hal makes it 3 OUTS. And this first inning’s over.

It’s Gizmo to the plate. After a couple of warm up swings, he’s ready for anything Ruby can throw at him. And apparently he likes what he sees because he takes the first pitch and puts it OUT OF THE PARK! SOLO HOME RUN for the Giz! (+1)
That TIES up the score!
Sam snags a single as does Hal, making it bird on 2nd/1st.
A smash hit from Leah gets her around to second, Hal around to third and Sam in over home. (+1) The POIS have the LEAD now!
Determined to curb that lead, pitcher Ruby burns a series of hot ones past not just the next batter but the one after that as well for 2 STRIKE OUTS.
Beaker and his penetrating eye contact must get the ball off it’s mark because he gets four balls and walks to first which makes it BASES LOADED!
Up next: Hulk. If ever there were a time to muscle one out of the park, it’s right now, Hulk! And HE DOES! GRAND SLAM HOME RUN! The Pois have just added (+4) to their score!! As Hal, then Leah and the Beaker cross the dish, they turn and wait to welcome Hulk home amid the deafening racket of the cheering fans.
Comet, having quickly resumed a sense of seriousness, swings for a single, knowing this game is young yet. She’s left stranded on first when the third strike OUT off Ruby’s mean pitching wing ends the top of the 2nd.

The Pois have added 6 runs to their score.

The first hit off of a Macaw bat burns its way right to short stop Gizmo who gets the ball to first before the runner. 1st OUT.
A second hit, one that buzzes closer to Kaji on third, is scooped up and thrown for a second OUT.
A huge hit to center field ends up cradled nicely in P’n’D Sam’s mitt for the 3rd OUT, making this one of those dreaded 3 up/3 down innings for the Macaws.

That’s not what they need when they’re down five runs.

Macaw Big Baby makes it to first on a zinger that’s arched its way safely over the infield and dropped nicely into the grass of the outfield. She’s moved on to second on a play at first that gives the Macaws their first OUT.
A second OUT comes when short fielder Calico stops one cold and gets the ball to first well ahead of the runner.
When Jasper’s patience for a good pitch earns her a walk, there’s now birds on 2nd & 1st.
Malachite picks her pitch and pounds one out, managing a single which means it’s BASES LOADED with Mighty Macaws!!
2 OUTS... BASES LOADED.... A homer here would tie the score...
But Hulk rockets three pitches in over the plate for that 3rd OUT leaving those loaded bases well stocked. The Macaws have just been denied the chance to tie the score.

Not willing to let her hit go the way of the last two, Ruby makes bat meet ball at the sweet spot and sends the orb sailing far, far away... SOLO HOME RUN for Ruby!! (+1)
Macaw fans are on their feet in a surge of excitement as Ruby lopes her way around the bases with ease.
A 3rd OUT comes easy when the hit spins out in the dirt right in front of second-basebird Leah who quickly sends it to first to shut down this inning.

It’s a ground OUT for openers at the top of the 6th but then Calico cracks the bat and sends one sailing high up into the bleachers for a SOLO HOME RUN!! (+1)
Kaji pounds one out and makes it to first.
When Beaker steps into the pitch with the swing, there’s no doubt where that ball’s going to end up; OVER THE FENCE!! That’s a HOME RUN for sure!! Kaji and Beaker add (+2).
Apparently the next two Pois batters were hoping to catch a little of the same action but Macaw mitts pulled those fly balls down for OUTS 2 & 3, sending those Pois to their dugout.

Needing to double their score, the Macaws come out swinging.
The first batter misses altogether. Three times. 1st OUT.
The second batter connects but P’n’D Gizmo quick action makes it an OUT at first.
The third batter, like the first, swings for the bleachers but sends nothing there but air making it 3 up/ 3 down in the bottom of the sixth.

The Macaws can break THIS pattern anytime soon.

Sam makes it easy for Ollie to come home when he clobbers the pitch for a beautiful HOME RUN!! (+2) Ollie and Sam receive a warm welcome home from both teammates and fans in the stands.
A high flying hit lands in center fielder RaneBeau’s mitt for a 2nd OUT.
Up next — Leah. And she takes the first pitch off flockmate Ruby’s wing, sending that ball deep into right field... no, wait, it’s going, it’s going... it’s OVER THE WALL! SOLO HOME RUN!! (+1)
There’s no sweet pitch for Calico- she gets walked to first where she’s left following a third OUT on a grounder.

This brings us to STRETCH TIME! The score stands at 14 - 5 with the Mighty Macaws yet to play their half of the 7th inning. As you refill those drinks or order up another cheesy nacho, ponder the ramifications of this situation. If the Pois hold this lead, you may be about to eat your last ballpark frank. If the Macaws pull together their mighty powers, the ones that got them here in the first place, you’ll have tomorrow to enjoy eat another tasty treat from the concession stand. It’s a hot hit off a macaw bat but it ends in Hal’s left field mitt. 1st OUT.
Mighty Macaw Reba, she’s got that bat up there and ready. She’s got her eye on the ball... she swings... That baby’s a GONER! It’s OUT of the PARK for a SOLO HOME RUN!! (+1)
Ducky snags a single to start stocking the bases but a strike OUT makes it 2 outs and a high flying hit, drug down by Comet in right field makes it 3 OUTS, inning over.

Ollie’s single moves her to third. When Gizmo’s given a base on four balls, the Pois have BASES LOADED.
Sam lets a pitch that’s low and outside go by then barrels the next one between second and short field. Comet sprints for home and scores. (+1) Ollie’s close behind. (+1) Gizmo holds up at third while Sam slides into second. SAFE!
A hard hit to MM Jasper in the short field position goes to Malachite on first for OUT #2.
With runners on 3rd/2nd, Leah’s free pass to first makes it BASES LOADED with Pois.
Pitcher Ruby tightens up the zone but Calico finds one in the sweet spot and buries the ball for a beautiful triple. Gizmo, Sam and Leah all make it home on the hit. (+3)
Not to be denied a similar thrill, Kaji smashes out a double, scoring Calico for the 7th run of the inning. Kaji’s left on base following a fly OUT credited to MM Ducky who yanked the hit out of it’s trajectory.

A look at the board shows the score being 21 - 6 going into the bottom of the 8th. Folks, it’s time for something MARVELOUS from the Macaws...

Big Baby delivers an incredible triple herself, scoring Rio with ease. (+1)
A line drive down the right field foul line gives Jake enough time to get to first. It’s all Big Baby needs to make it in home. (+1)
RaneBeau gets picky about his pitches and waits through four balls. He’d rather have the walk than an out. With birds on 2nd and 1st and no outs, things are looking up for the big birds.
Jasper steps to the plate, gives a little smile and sends the hard-line pitch straight into the bleachers for a FANTASTIC HOME RUN!!

10 runs is not necessarily a guaranteed win in Birdie Baseball so the Pois are not doing any celebrating yet, particularly when their first batter is taken down with three nasty pitchers for a 1st OUT.
Comet puts bat to ball and races the bases till she’s held up at second.
Ollie joins her on base courtesy of a walk.
When Gizmo drills out a single, the POIS have BASES LOADED again.
Craving an impressive 9th inning, the next batter swings for the bleachers but comes up just short of the edge of the wall. Instead, the ball falls into RaneBeau’s outstretched glove. 2nd OUT.
Remember folks, it’s BASES LOADED...
Hal obviously does. He taps the home plate once, twice, then hoists the bat, lifts the shoulder, lowers the beak... and CREAMS the pitch...

*G*R*A*N*D*S*L*A*M* *H*O*M*E* *R*U*N* !!!!

Comet crosses home plate! (+1)
Ollie sprints across the dish! (+1)
Gizmo leaps and lands on the plate. (+1)
Hal, having circled the bases with the most incredible grin on his beak, touches the fourth base in an almost hollowed manner. (+1)

If you can still hear me over this thunderous crowd, that’s four more for the Pois!!

While the Pois fans still dance with excitement, the next P’n’D hitter puts one up and out there but a Macaw brings it down for a third OUT.

Bottom of the 9th...
Mighty Macaw Ruby steps to the plate, a gleam in her eye, an air of confidence in her step. Her team’s playing in the World Series for a reason; they’ve played some MIGHTY baseball all season. It’s obviously something they know how to do. And now’s the time to do it.

Just do it.

And so she plows out a huge triple.
Rio joins her on base thanks to a curve ball that’s drifts off it’s mark... four times.
Big Baby picks her pitch and gets herself to first while Ruby breaks for home and scores. (+1)
Coach Jake steps to the plate where he fines tunes his stance, poises the bat, and a slight nod to the left field, swings with with all his MIGHT...

Jake nails a triple, scoring Rio and Big Baby for a (+2).
Up next, RaneBeau who studies the view of the outfield, picks the middle lane and buries the ball over the wall for a HOME RUN!! Jake and RaneBeau add two more to the board. (+2)

The score’s now 25 - 16. There’s no outs...

And the 9th CONTINUES...
A hard hit right back to the pitcher’s mound is stopped by Hulk and then delivered to first for a 1st OUT.

The bases are empty...
Malachite takes first on four balls.
Then it’s a hug hit to right field but Comet’s under it for OUT #2.
Needing just one more out to end this game, Hulk winds up the pitch

and it’s a strike!

He pitches again; strike TWO.

One more pitch... one more swing... this could be it...

AND THE BATTER’S OUT!

DA POIS’N’DEM HAVE JUST WON THE 2011 BIRDIE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!

WE DID IT AGAIN. WE WON GAME 4!
WOW, WHAT A SERIES1
Captains Kaji and Calico here.
We did it again. We won game 4. But remember, it's the best of 7 games. It's not over yet. We play again tomorrow. 'nuf said?

Here's the play by play of today's game:

Batter up!!
First up at bat for the Macaws is RaneBeau who starts things off with a triple, but the next batter grounds out to Beaker on 1st Base. Floop is up next with a single that brings RaneBeau in for the first score of the game, and Ms. Presley also singles to move Floop to 2nd. However both of them are left stranded when the next batter grounds out to Calico at short field, and Hulk strikes out the next batter for the final out.

Comet gets on base for the Pois with a walk followed by a high fly that is fielded neatly by Jake in Center Field for out #1 for the Pois. Next up to bat is Gizmo, who doesn’t fool around at all and smacks out a HOME RUN on Ruby’s very first pitch to him and brings Comet in for the score as well. Lizzie’s dragon fire tops off the excitement. SamIAm is up next, and he gets on base with a single, followed by a double from Hal putting birds on 2nd and 3rd. However Ruby strikes out the next batter, and the final out comes in a pop up fly right in to the mitt of Rio, leaving Sam and Hal standing alone on base.

First Inning Score: Macaws 1; Pois 3

The second inning is off to a rocky start with a grounder right into the glove of short stop, Gizmo, who zings it right to Beaker on 1st for the out. However Rio makes it on base with a single, and Big Baby and Jake do the same to load the bases for the Macaws. The next play is a high fly ball caught by left fielder Hal for out #2. Don’t worry, Macaws fans, because here comes Jasper with a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN to bring in every one of those runners for 4 on the score board!! Hulk is so furious he zings three fast balls over the plate that the next poor batter never even saw for out #3.

Kaji starts off the bottom of the 2nd for the Pois with a single, and he’s moved around to 3rd when Beaker connects with a double. When Hulk stalks up to the plate still fuming over the grand slam the Macaws scored, he hits the ball so hard I think he might have knocked the horsehide right off of it. This HOME RUN is way out and gone to score three when Hulk, Kaji and Beaker all cross home plate. And Lizzie shows her appreciation!! Comet is up next with a single, then Ollie brings him on home with a triple for another run. When Gizmo triples that brings in Ollie, but the next batter hits a grounder to Indigo at short stop and is out. Hal is up next with a single, which brings in Gizmo from 3rd, and when Leah hits a triple that scores Hal. These Pois really seem to be on a scoring streak this inning, and Calico keeps it up with a triple that brings in Leah. However Miss Ruby has had about enough, and she strikes out the next batter in three pitches, and the last out comes in a grounder right to Floop at 1st base.
