ALRIGHTY THEN, LET’S DO THIS!
Mighty Macaws, get your bats ready!
Its’ SKY to the plate and he wastes no time taking a swing at the ball. And WHOOZA! It’s a HOME RUN right off the bat! (+1) That’s a mighty fine start right there for the big team.
Next up, SCARLET. She’s smacked it right in between center and left which gives her plenty of time to make it around to second base.
And now it’s RANEBEAU at bat. He swings, he connects but oops, it’s a grounder right to Dragon Polly on first. Easy out. [-1] Runner’s still on second.
FLOOP, he’s looking for the pitch, got that bat up high. SCHWING! That’s a HOMER for sure! Scarlet and Floop add (+2) to the scoreboard.
It’s a triple for CHICA but a fly out [-2] and a strike out [-3] leave her stranded oh so close to home.

For the Dragons, it’s QUINCY. A couple of warm up swings and now he’s stepping up to the plate. KaPLOW! There’s a HOME RUN for the Quakers to start their turn at bat! (+1)
A grounder’s scooped up by Chica at third and whipped over to RaneBeau on 1st for the first out. [-1]
POLLY chips out a single,
WADDLES clubs out a double and we’ve got birds on third and second. One out.
ARCHIMEDES, he swings and misses the first pitch, then lets one go by, but here we go, he’s stepping into it... and it’s around to third he goes as Polly and then Waddles cross home plate for (+2) for the board.
A grounder to MM Floop gets the second out [-2] but MICKY, he gets to second on a whale of a hit which brings Archimedes on in home. (+1). Micky’s left on base though after a high flyer lands in MM Chyna’s mitt. [-3]

For the Mighty Macaws, it’s Chyna! and Hot Diggity Dog, she’s cracked out a huge HOME RUN!! Way to go Chyna!
A big ol fat fly ball falls right in QLD right fielder Jade’s mitt for the inning’s first out. [-1]
A ground out makes it two outs. [-2]
SKY, he singles but a strike out makes it 3 outs, and the top of the 2nd is done.

The Dragons send out JADE who gets a walk to first.
KIWI joins her with a walk of her own. Birds on 2nd and 1st...
We’re back around to QUINCY and he clubs out a triple, scoring Jade and Kiwi. (+2)
Two fly balls, one brought down by left fielder Jake, the other snagged by Joshua at short field put 2 OUTS on the counter against the Dragons. [-2]
WADDLES does anything but when he hustles to first on a bunt. Oh wait, the ball’s gotten loose... and Quincy slides in over home plate for the run!! That green bird’s looking a little bit dusty after that smooth move! (+1)
Another grounder and it’s 3 OUTS for the bottom of the 2nd.
The Dragons add 3 to their score.

The Macaws start out with a hard hit down the 3rd base line but Archimedes stops it and gets the ball to Polly in time for the first OUT. [-1]
A second grounder is snatched up by QLD Polly for the second out. [-2]
Next up, Home Run CHYNA who makes it to second this time on a smack into the gap.
BIG BABY, she doubles, bringing Chyna in home (+1) but is denied the privilege herself after a fly ball drops into QLD The Bird’s mitt. [-3]
The Mighty birds have brought their score up to 7...

We’re in the bottom of the 4th and the Quakers are likely looking to widen that run gap again. A fly OUT for starters isn’t going to do that. [-1]
A grounder’s not going to either. [-2]
PHOTON though, he bashes one out a double
POLLY slugs herself a single which puts birds on 3/1.
WADDLES, he’s got patience. He’s waiting, waiting... and he takes the walk which makes it BASES LOADED.
Up next, Archimedes. He lays into the swing with dragon-like power and mangles the ball for a triple!! Photon, Polly and Waddles all cross home plate, adding (+3) to the run count.
With Archimedes on third, COOKIE’s double adds another to the score (+1).
A single from MICKY makes it bird on 1st and 3rd. Two OUTS....
The BIRD drives one right past MM pitcher Sky’s head and on past MM 2nd baser, Floop to score Cookie and put a Dragon on 2/1.
JADE picks her bat, picks her pitch and makes the hit a HOME RUN!!!!
Micky, The Bird and Jade cross the home base to add (+3) to the screaming Quaker’s score.
Apparently MM pitcher Sky’s had about enough of this; he puts three in over the plate that no birdie could hit! Strike out; 3rd OUT. But the Quakers add 8 to the board!

It’s SCARLET of the Mighty Macaws to the plate. She has no problem connecting for a single.
Next up, RANEBEAU, but his connect pops up off the dirt and right into QLD short stop Cookie for OUT #1. Good hustle anyway, RaneBeau.
FLOOP’s grounder becomes OUT #2 but Scarlet’s moved to 2nd base.
When CHICA swings, she means business. Look at the ball go! She’s around t’second and Scarlet’s made it home! (+1)
But awwww, that’s all the farther they’re gonna make it. A fly ball’s easy pickings for QLD Jade in right field.
The Macaw’s edge it up one.

Mighty Macaw Coach JAKE steps to the plate and hammers out a single.
CHYNA does the same. Birds on 1st and 2nd now.
BIG BABY plows the pitch for a WHOPPER of a hit! She’s to first - the ball’s still rolling across the grass, she’s to second ... QLD Kiwi and Jade are trying their best to get that thing under control, BIG BABY’s to third before Jade whips the ball to the pitcher’s mound. MM Jake and Chyna have scored. (+2) MMs now have 10.
JOSH creams the ball for another double, bringing Big Baby in home. (+1) MMs are at 11 now.
SKY lays into his swing with the power of Greenwing and earns himself a triple, scoring Josh in the process. (+1) That’s 12.
Another huge hit lands in the mitt of left fielder Micky for the first OUT of the inning.
It’s RANEBEAU to the plate. His stance makes the strike zone a tough target and he earns himself a freebie to first. Sky advances to 3rd.
And next, FLOOP. He belts one into right field and makes it to first, no problem. Sky comes in home on the play. (+1) Make that a 13 for the Mighties.
QLD Archimedes makes a shoestring catch on a grounder for the 2nd OUT.
MALACHITE eyes the pitcher, then eyes the ball, watching it rocket towards her. WHOA! She just air-mailed that baby OUT OF THE PARK! HOME RUN for Malachite! RaneBeau, Floop and Mal tally up (+3) more for the MMs. The big birds are at 16!! They’ve got to be feeling better now.
JAKE gets a free pass to the first bag but three strikes on the next batter make it 3 OUTS.

The Quaker Little Dragons head to the dugout. WADDLES heads for the batter’s box. He smacks out a triple. The macaws are probably glad the bases weren’t loaded up for that one.
MM pitcher Sky throws in three nasty screwballs and gets the first OUT in the bottom of the 6th.
COOKIE hammers the pitch and beats the ball to first while Waddles, he crosses home plate. (+1)
It’s a swing and a miss, a swing and a miss and well, you know... OUT #2. Cookie’s still on first. THE BIRD gets the walk making it birds on first and second, but a grounder, scooped up Chica for the touch to third makes it 3 OUTS.
The Dragons add one to their side of the board.

WADDLES single makes it birds on 1/3.
ARCHIMEDES swings and misses the first pitch. Anxious to bring in his teammates, he swings and misses a second time. The count’s oh and two. There’s no missing this third one; Archimedes connects for a WHOOPER of a hit; he triples, bringing in Polly and Waddles for (+2).
COOKIE waits for the perfect pitch, see it and swings — she’s around to second and Archimedes is over home plate before the MMs can get to the ball.
A grounder to MM short fielder Joshua Chico gets the 3rd OUT when he touches first base before the runner.

For the big birds, it’s SCARLET to first with on four balls.
A huge hit to center field’s The Bird become the MM’s first OUT. (Way t’go, RaneBeau, Alfie mutters under his breath.)
Okay, we’ve got FLOOP at the plate. He’s pointing the bat at center field and smiling. What’s he up to? CuuuuRACK!!! It’s out there! But he’s held up at third, but he’s seems fine with that. Scarlet has crossed home plate. (+1)
Floop scores on CHICA’s smooth-hit single. (+1)
MALACHITE joins Chica on the bases with a walk We’ve got birds on 1st and 2nd.
A hard-hit ‘chopper’ is fielded for the OUT at first but Chica and Malachite advance to 2nd and 3rd base.
Next up, Miss CHYNA. She’s taking a couple of practice swings. She looks ready. It’s a swing and a HIT!
Chica crossed home plate and Malachite’s not far behind. Chyna’s held up at 2nd but she looks happy with the (+2) added to the Macaw’s board.
The top of the 8th’s done with though when a hard hit ball is stopped dead by an instinctive mitt up on the mound; smooth move there Quincy!
The Mighty Macaws are down just one run now.

Does size really matter?
Don’t tell that to the Kevlar ‘Keets as they take on the Mighty Macaws today at KEVLAR Stadium. ‘Keet Bellatrix was the first batter today and grounded out to short stop Malachite. Willie then struck out when Sky threw a fast ball. Jude got the 1st hit of the game with a single to right field. Jude would then score when Spirit Cloude hit a HR into center field. Budweiser would fly out to Jake in left field to end their bats. Macaw Sky got things started with a single. Scarlet was fanned by ‘Keet pitcher Bellatrix who would walk RaneBeau on the next bats. In the 2nd inning,
‘Keet Bentley drew a walk and advanced to second base when Charlie ‘Keet hit a double. Pearl struck out on a wicked curve ball thrown by Sky. Miss Ronnie did not fair any better against Sky, striking out as well. Just when the Macaws thought they were dominating, the ‘Keet’s bats got hot. Paddy Cake hit a single followed by a triple by Muffin. Luna and Remy would also hit singles and Bellatrix would clear the bases to add 5 runs to the Keet’s 2 runs from inning one. The Macaws would bounce back when Chyna opened with a single. When Jake hit a pop fly out and Big Baby struck out, the ‘Keets got confident. Then Joshua Chico slammed a HR over left fielder Pearl’s head to make the score 7-2. Ducky would then hit a single and move to 3rd and score when Athena hit a double. In the 3rd inning,
Jude was fanned by Sky’s change up. Spirit Cloude drew the walk and moved to 3rd when Budweiser hit a double. Bentley hit a pop fly which was caught by Big Baby for 2 outs. Just when the Macaws thought they would escape the inning, Pearl hit a single and Charlie ‘Keet a triple to make the score 10-2 Keets. Miss Ronnie struck out to end the cycle. The Macaws opened with two straight outs, by Scarlet and Ranebeau. Floop would get things going with a single and scored when Chica hit a HR. Pitcher Bellatrix was flustered and walked Malachite and Jake. In the 5th inning,
Sky was still hot fanning Bellatrx and Spirit Cloude. Jude broke things up with a solo HR to left field as Willie ended the bats with a goundout to Chica at 3rd base. The Macaws copied the ‘Keets as Sky and Scarlet struck out. In the 6th inning,
the ‘Keets padded their lead when Budweiser opened with a HR. Bentley walked and scored when Charlie ‘Keet hit the 2nd dinger for the Keets to make the score 14-5. In the 7th,
‘Keet Remy hit a solo HR as Muffin, Luna and Bellatrix all hit the long ball by not long enough. The ‘Keets opened the last inning
with a 15-5 lead. The Macaw defense did their job with 3 up 3 down of Bentley, Pearl and Charlie ‘Keet but could they stage the comeback? Things were looking good for the ‘Keets when Floop was quickly struck out. Chica and Malachite hit singles but hope was dashed when Jake’s pop fly was caught. Down to 1 out left, Chyna smacked a triple into center scoring Chica and Malachite to make the score 15-7. Big Baby then hit a towering HR into left field to make the score 15-9. Joshua Chico then stepped up to the plate and hit the long ball to right filed only to be denied by Miss Ronnie’s diving catch to end the game.
Final Score: Kevlar Keets 15, Mighty Macaws 9.

WELCOME BACK TO KEVLAR MEMORIAL STADIUM
where one of the most exciting games of the season was played just yesterday. I think I can still hear the echo of the cheering and screaming of the fans...
This is Game FIVE in our Best of Seven Series. Da Pois ‘N’ Dem have three games to their credit. A win today would make them the 2011 Champions. It doesn’t take an African Grey to figure out what the Pois wanna do today.
With the Mighty Macaws down two games, they need this one to stay in contention for the Turkelton Memorial Trophy. You can bet they’re going to be bringing their absolute best to today’s game.
Before that first pitch is thrown, please join the players and your fellow baseball fans in the singing of the National Anthem~

As the visiting team today, Da Pois are up to bat first. And the first batter has the first out against’m with a strike OUT.
Next up: Kaji and he gets to first on a line drive past third.
Beaker moves Kaji to second on a plug past the short stop.
When Hulk gets to base on four balls, it’s BASES LOADED with POIS!!
It looks like the Pois intend to take this game early! But the Mighty Macaws have other ideas. A bounder cuts straight to short fielder Jasper who drills it to Malachite on first for the OUT. Kaji has rushed on home during the play to give Da Pois their first run. (1)
There’s a bird on 3/2 .... It’s two outs...
MM Ruby’s pitching wing gets the third OUT on three strikes leaving Beaker and Hulk stuck on base.

For the Mighty Macaws, it’s Malachite getting things started with a double.
Pois team work between catcher Ollie and first basebird Beaker get a ground OUT but Malachite has moved safely to second.
A double by Ducky gives Mal the chance to race it on home and she scores the first run for the Macaws! (1) The score is now TIED.
A single from Marley moves Ducky one base closer to home but three strikes doesn’t give her the chance to score. Rio’s double does though. Ducky’s run gives the M.M. the LEAD!
A fly ball, caught by L.F. Hal makes it 3 OUTS. And this first inning’s over.

It’s Gizmo to the plate. After a couple of warm up swings, he’s ready for anything Ruby can throw at him. And apparently he likes what he sees because he takes the first pitch and puts it OUT OF THE PARK! SOLO HOME RUN for the Giz! (+1)
That TIES up the score!
Sam snags a single as does Hal, making it bird on 2nd/1st.
A smash hit from Leah gets her around to second, Hal around to third and Sam in over home. (+1) The POIS have the LEAD now!
Determined to curb that lead, pitcher Ruby burns a series of hot ones past not just the next batter but the one after that as well for 2 STRIKE OUTS.
Beaker and his penetrating eye contact must get the ball off it’s mark because he gets four balls and walks to first which makes it BASES LOADED!
Up next: Hulk. If ever there were a time to muscle one out of the park, it’s right now, Hulk! And HE DOES! GRAND SLAM HOME RUN! The Pois have just added (+4) to their score!! As Hal, then Leah and the Beaker cross the dish, they turn and wait to welcome Hulk home amid the deafening racket of the cheering fans.
Comet, having quickly resumed a sense of seriousness, swings for a single, knowing this game is young yet. She’s left stranded on first when the third strike OUT off Ruby’s mean pitching wing ends the top of the 2nd.
The Pois have added 6 runs to their score.

The first hit off of a Macaw bat burns its way right to short stop Gizmo who gets the ball to first before the runner. 1st OUT.
A second hit, one that buzzes closer to Kaji on third, is scooped up and thrown for a second OUT.
A huge hit to center field ends up cradled nicely in P’n’D Sam’s mitt for the 3rd OUT, making this one of those dreaded 3 up/3 down innings for the Macaws.
That’s not what they need when they’re down five runs.

Hulk muscles out enough of a hit that Kaji’s able to score. (+1) Hulk gets to second but goes no further due to the 3rd OUT achieved off a fly ball.

Macaw Big Baby makes it to first on a zinger that’s arched its way safely over the infield and dropped nicely into the grass of the outfield. She’s moved on to second on a play at first that gives the Macaws their first OUT.
A second OUT comes when short fielder Calico stops one cold and gets the ball to first well ahead of the runner.
When Jasper’s patience for a good pitch earns her a walk, there’s now birds on 2nd & 1st.
Malachite picks her pitch and pounds one out, managing a single which means it’s BASES LOADED with Mighty Macaws!!
2 OUTS... BASES LOADED.... A homer here would tie the score...
But Hulk rockets three pitches in over the plate for that 3rd OUT leaving those loaded bases well stocked. The Macaws have just been denied the chance to tie the score.

Not willing to let her hit go the way of the last two, Ruby makes bat meet ball at the sweet spot and sends the orb sailing far, far away... SOLO HOME RUN for Ruby!! (+1)
Macaw fans are on their feet in a surge of excitement as Ruby lopes her way around the bases with ease.
A 3rd OUT comes easy when the hit spins out in the dirt right in front of second-basebird Leah who quickly sends it to first to shut down this inning.

It’s a ground OUT for openers at the top of the 6th but then Calico cracks the bat and sends one sailing high up into the bleachers for a SOLO HOME RUN!! (+1)
Kaji pounds one out and makes it to first.
When Beaker steps into the pitch with the swing, there’s no doubt where that ball’s going to end up; OVER THE FENCE!! That’s a HOME RUN for sure!! Kaji and Beaker add (+2).
Apparently the next two Pois batters were hoping to catch a little of the same action but Macaw mitts pulled those fly balls down for OUTS 2 & 3, sending those Pois to their dugout.

Needing to double their score, the Macaws come out swinging.
The first batter misses altogether. Three times. 1st OUT.
The second batter connects but P’n’D Gizmo quick action makes it an OUT at first.
The third batter, like the first, swings for the bleachers but sends nothing there but air making it 3 up/ 3 down in the bottom of the sixth.
The Macaws can break THIS pattern anytime soon.

Hot off the bat of Pois hitter Ollie, it’s a three-bagger for starters at the top of the 7th.
A grounder that plows it’s way straight to second base is whipped to first by Reba after a moment’s hesitation on just where to throw the ball. The runner’s OUT at first. Ollie stays put on third when the ball’s quickly returned to pitcher Ruby.
Sam makes it easy for Ollie to come home when he clobbers the pitch for a beautiful HOME RUN!! (+2) Ollie and Sam receive a warm welcome home from both teammates and fans in the stands.
A high flying hit lands in center fielder RaneBeau’s mitt for a 2nd OUT.
Up next — Leah. And she takes the first pitch off flockmate Ruby’s wing, sending that ball deep into right field... no, wait, it’s going, it’s going... it’s OVER THE WALL! SOLO HOME RUN!! (+1)
There’s no sweet pitch for Calico- she gets walked to first where she’s left following a third OUT on a grounder.
This brings us to STRETCH TIME! The score stands at 14 - 5 with the Mighty Macaws yet to play their half of the 7th inning. As you refill those drinks or order up another cheesy nacho, ponder the ramifications of this situation. If the Pois hold this lead, you may be about to eat your last ballpark frank. If the Macaws pull together their mighty powers, the ones that got them here in the first place, you’ll have tomorrow to enjoy eat another tasty treat from the concession stand. It’s a hot hit off a macaw bat but it ends in Hal’s left field mitt. 1st OUT.
Mighty Macaw Reba, she’s got that bat up there and ready. She’s got her eye on the ball... she swings... That baby’s a GONER! It’s OUT of the PARK for a SOLO HOME RUN!! (+1)
Ducky snags a single to start stocking the bases but a strike OUT makes it 2 outs and a high flying hit, drug down by Comet in right field makes it 3 OUTS, inning over.

Ollie’s single moves her to third. When Gizmo’s given a base on four balls, the Pois have BASES LOADED.
Sam lets a pitch that’s low and outside go by then barrels the next one between second and short field. Comet sprints for home and scores. (+1) Ollie’s close behind. (+1) Gizmo holds up at third while Sam slides into second. SAFE!
A hard hit to MM Jasper in the short field position goes to Malachite on first for OUT #2.
With runners on 3rd/2nd, Leah’s free pass to first makes it BASES LOADED with Pois.
Pitcher Ruby tightens up the zone but Calico finds one in the sweet spot and buries the ball for a beautiful triple. Gizmo, Sam and Leah all make it home on the hit. (+3)
Not to be denied a similar thrill, Kaji smashes out a double, scoring Calico for the 7th run of the inning. Kaji’s left on base following a fly OUT credited to MM Ducky who yanked the hit out of it’s trajectory.

Bottom of the 8th...
A triple courtesy of Rio starts things up.
Big Baby delivers an incredible triple herself, scoring Rio with ease. (+1)
A line drive down the right field foul line gives Jake enough time to get to first. It’s all Big Baby needs to make it in home. (+1)
RaneBeau gets picky about his pitches and waits through four balls. He’d rather have the walk than an out. With birds on 2nd and 1st and no outs, things are looking up for the big birds.
Jasper steps to the plate, gives a little smile and sends the hard-line pitch straight into the bleachers for a FANTASTIC HOME RUN!!
Jake crosses home plate. (+1)
RaneBeau crosses home plate. (+1)
Jasper crosses home plate to the deafening cheers of her teammates and fans and family! (+1)
The next hit ends up being passed from P’n’D Kaji to Beaker for a 1st OUT.
The same is true of the following hit; a play at first for a 2nd OUT.
Ducky breaks the pattern with a slick hit that earns her a three bases.
A huge hit that could’ve brought Ducky in home ends up in Sam’s glove, bringing the bottom of the 8th to a close.
The Macaws shave their trailing score by five...
