Sly was attacking dad so bad that he had to move back to his old home. My name is Toni and I'm going to my new home tomorrow! Char has been great and Sidney who used to be real nice to me is super jealous when I'm on Char. Guess she's claimed her for her own. hehehe
The saddest thing some of us has is when we are no longer able to live with our people because they have to move and such. We sure are glad there's Way Stations for us.
Have a happy day. Char is going to clean my cage extra clean for my move. Keep checking in cause there's someone new all the time. Looks like a couple of tiels and a dove are coming next. leaving a vote and thanks for flying by the Way Station. Sly is a pretty cool Grey. Sly here. Not all the stories about all the birds are tragic. Well they are because they have to have new homes, but not all are super bad like Reggie, Malibu and such. Like Sidney and her cage mate, Toni (a sun conure) their people took care of them, except for vet visits, and the reason they were given up is because their people had retired and wanted to travel....they couldn't find a bird sitter. Gimme a break! Mom even said she'd birdsit when they went away...no go. All the better for us.
We'll be getting a couple of birds coming in on Sat because their mom is starting college and can't keep them. She's all in tears. Mom is going to ask if there's any way that mom can take care of them for a couple of months so she can find a place where she can keep them. We know there are many in our club who will love to take them in too.
Trust me, mom cries on a regular basis when some birds come in. Sometimes it's from anger...others it's the condition. So we all do what we can to help mom and the fosterlings.
OH, here's an update on some of the birds--Reggie (African Grey)new cage and a new forever home. He's an only bird so gets tons of attention. Malibu is back to Lisa's(main rescue) and VERY happy hanging around with all the other birds and being loved on again. **Sidney is in our flock. Mom adopted her. We love her very much. *Her fister, Toni, was supposed to go to a home where she would be an only bird, but the lady is no where to be found so she's going back to Lisa's tomorrow.(there is a waiting list for loving birds)**Clifford, who bonded with our Gene, has gone to a new home....with Gene. Mom couldn't let Cliff go alone after he bonded with Gene. So they are together. It broke mom's heart, but was best for both birds.**
We are just so happy we get a part in their lives and get to show them what love is and to be able to see them to a forever home.
Well, that's about it. OH except for the IRN that mom picked up....she is in with our old IRN fister-we had to give her up because she was attacking mom on a regular basis and started on dad. With his illness we couldn't have that! But if a male comes thru, mom says there's a chance she'll keep him- Anyhow, Lisa put her in the cage with Aramina and her young male friend and Pepper is doing wonderfully. She's calmed down and isn't so afraid.
