 BELLE WAS IN THE DECEMBER 2010 ISSUE OF BIRD TALK AS THE "LETTER OF THE MONTH" AND THE JULY 2011 ISSUE OF BIRD TALK IN THE ARTICLE "FLOCK ON"!!!!!!!!
We had never thought about owning a bird, or adopting one. One day however, my mom went to Petsmart to get some dog food when she saw Belle, all alone in a cage. Belle was making those 'sleepy eyes' and looked absolutely adorable! My mother came home and told us about her. After a little controversy, we went to the petstore and got her. When we brought her home she was petrified and bit really hard and drew blood. Because she was never hand fed or interacted with humans much, Belle was and is not tame. However, she has come a long way and is much more trusting and sees us as her flock. The employees at Petsmart told us that she was actually supposed to be sold with another bird, they were closely bonded and loved each other. But someone bought the other bird, and left Belle by herself. She may have been an unwanted bird then, but is loved dearly now!. |

That's alright. So how has your day been? I got a. 6:30 am wakeup because Mom had to get up for swim practice. Yuck! I hate getting up early! It's really nice here and we hope this kind of weather keeps up :)

the bird show was very rewarding for me and my brother. We both got new toys, and some treats. there were 2 Rosey's there, but the first was very afraid, and the second one was still on one feeding a day.
