Hi Bellatrix
Punkin here to ask for your votes each day to help me make BOTM. I'm sharing flowers we birds CAN EAT
Here's todays flowers:
English Daisy (Bellis perennis) - The flowers have a mildly bitter taste and are most commonly used for their looks than their flavor. The petals are used as a garnish and in salads.
Gladiolus (Gladiolus spp) - Flowers (anthers removed) have a nondescript flavor (taste vaguely like lettuce) but make lovely receptacles for sweet or savory spreads or mousses. Toss individual petals in salads. It can also be cooked like a day lily.
For all you I didn't get to tell yesterday....Bird is doing real good. She's got about 80% use of her right foot as well now. We are so excited about that because she's soon going to be able to go to her new home!!
We had a great day with mom yesterday and get to again today because we're getting some snow flurries today. Tell your Mom that she could try taking you to the vet, but that lots of birds pluck their chests...sometimes it's boredom, sometimes they're looking for stuff to nest with, and sometimes it's nerves! If you don't have stuff to rip up in your cage, she could give you some ---paper napkins or towels or corn husks or straw...birdies like different kinds of stuff to rip up...she could ask at the birdie store....also she could try giving you more out of cage time to explore....also there are sprays that she could try to discourage feather plucking...maybe one of those would help...
Bottom line is, you're such a pretty little girl...don't go messing yourself up!! get some help!! Love you!Come visit me, The Society of Finches & Tooth.

And also the orange thing, mom (sadly), does know about the whole acid thing. But I can't help myself! That is why I enjoy running away from my spinach (But not broccoli, that one is fun to eat).

Magic told me you are a little cuddlebug that bites, too. I think Parrotlets are a lot like Lovies. Do you know my friends down in Florida? Their names are Teacake and Edla, and they are elderly Lovebirds...Teacake is my special friend because she is yellow like me, but she has a bright orange face. Kiwi here. Hey you are a cutie aren't you. You know, and I'm speaking from experience, you'll get lots more loves if you don't nip....although, nipping IS quite fun. Mom lets me preen her quite a bit better (harder) than dad does. She keeps telling me to give 'sweet' kisses so I don't hurt him. Mom says that I'm not the one to give out advise about nipping, but who better than a nipper? hehehe

Thanks for the compliment. Trixie is cute as well, and has a very pretty coloring.
