Hi! My name is Icarus, aka Icky

I am a Double Yellow-Headed Amazon from Brea, CA.

Icky (short for Icarus)

30 years old   F

Double Yellow-Headed Amazon

Oranges, cranberries, grapes (even frozen ones!), almost any nuts, and of course all "people food" including licorice.

In her favorite corner of her cage, especially by her cage swing. Also sitting on her cage door.

Being Ignored!!!

How he (Richard) always takes care of me, feeds me, cleans my cage, and plays with me! I also love mommy because she gives me anything I want as long as it is safe for me.

She likes a lot of attention, especially first in the morning..

Hi Icky!!! You are beeeeautiful!!! Thanks for visiting and the message you left me. The lamps at home are quite safe. They have a built-in "net" over them. I think one of these days mommy will have to remove the nets and clean the lamps a bit because, hee hee, I kind of "dirtied" them if you know what I mean... grin... however, I did burn my feet on the toaster 2 nights ago. You see, I love love LOVE toasted pita bread, and mommy was making it in the toaster. I was anxious to eat it so I went over to see if it was ready yet. I didn't know the top of the toaster was so hot! Luckily I quickly flew away so there was no permanent damage done, but I think I gave mommy quite a scare, hee hee. Okay, a vote for you too! Come visit again soon! xoxoxo Sunny

Come visit me, Sunny.

  Hi Icarus!
Thanks for stopping by and thsnks for the vote! Yep, my beak is different. But, it doesn't bother me! I just moved to my new home about 10 days ago with Malachi, my Severe Macaw friend. We have been together for a long time and Mom adopted us together! She has a Blue-Fronted Amazon that she adopted about a week before she got us! We are all getting used to our new surroundings together. Mom has had parrots in the past so she knows how to care for us and is taking it slow with us! I haven't quite decided to be friends yet but we're getting there!Fly by anytime, we are always ready to make new friends! Harley

Come visit me, Smokey.

Just wanted to fly by and welcome a fellow amazon. However, we think you might be a blue front or some other type of amazon. The reasons: 1) you have a dark beak; DY heads have a light beak 2) there is very little yellow on your head 3) you look HUGE! You are a gorgeous bird! We hope you will stop by and visit us sometime. There are 3 amazons in our flock. Here is a vote for you. C ya later!

Come visit me, Jade, Merlina, Starburst, Pipper & Sunkist.

  Hi Icarus!
Looks like you've been listening to your father Daedalus. Just remember to stay away from King Minos and don't fly too close to the sun! (I doubt your wings would melt, though..but be careful anyways!)Here's a vote. Take care!

Come visit me, Shirley & Rosie.
