 Updated Information: I'm am very sad to report that BB has had a terrible accident and has gone to be with his maker. I comfort myself in knowing that he is now in perfect form and I will see him again one day. thank you for all the support and voted you have given him on this site. I went to a bird show and saw a Quaker breeder. In a cage by himself was this little baby that was crippled (his leg had gotten broke in the nesting box and set backwards pointing in a upwards postion). Of course I had to hold him and love on him lots. I could not get him out of my mind for the rest of the day so I visited that booth again just before leaving and made a deal with the owner to purchase him at a significantly reduced rate with no guarantees to his survival. He was 10 1/2 weeks at the time and I hand fed him (after getting a crash course in how to do so from the breeder) and he has been with us ever since. He does not know he is cripled and the only adjustment I have had to make in his cage is to give him a sleeping "platform" rather than a regular perch. Other than this, he is all over his cage and just as rambunctious as any Quaker.. |

Our Deepest Sympathy
Here's a vote in little BB's memory. You gave a very sweet little bird a very happy life while he was here. I hope you'll get another quaker to help your heart to mend. After my little budgie, Bobbie, died 2 yrs. ago. I waited for a few months, then got a beautiful lutino cockatiel named Daisy. Then about 3 1/2 wks. ago we adopted a 4 mo. old blue quaker whom we've named Miss Lucy Blue. They are both wonderful little birds, who really helped my heart to heal. Daisy's and Lucy's MommyCome visit me, Mr. Finnegan - I'm always wearin' the Green!, Daisy - R.I.P. - BOTW 9/17-9/23/07 & Princess Lucy Blue Thanks you and Sends Her Love!.
