Hi! My name is Kaliagh

I am a Moluccan Cockatoo from Germanton, NC.

I don't really have any nicknames but, my mom often refers to me as a two year old in a tutu, who has drank a two liter of soda, ate a pound of chocolate, and has had no nap.

28 years old   F

Moluccan Cockatoo

If my mom is eating it, then I like it too. My favorites are spaghetti with chili, macaroni and cheese, fresh green beans, and I get a hotdog now and then. Ultimately though, if it’s edible and if my mom is eating it then I want it.

I have a special play gym that my mom puts me on every morning. It is in the middle of the house where I can be seen at all times. She says it is because I can't be trusted alone for two seconds. It’s all because some holes appeared in the walls and some molding mysteriously disappeared. That's OK; I don't mind being here on my play stand. I can catch everyone's eye from this spot and I manage to swing a hug and kiss from everyone who sees me. Also, from this view point, nobody in this house eats without my knowing and I get extra snacks!

Not being greeted by all visitors in our home. Not being held twenty four hours a day. Being put to bed passed sunset.

Well, my mom is great! She notices how I scream every time someone walks through the front door and she makes them come over and hug me. I also love the way she rolls her eyes when I scream as she is walking in the door from grocery store. I know all twenty two bags of groceries are for me. She loves the way I tap my toes as I call her over to me. I also think she is proud of my ability to disassemble cages and play stands. She loves me for who I am.

She likes to cage hop and intimidate the small birds while she plays with their toys. Laughing lie Count Dracula from Sesame Street.

Hello girl! I love you girl!.

  Hello everybirdie!
So this morning I made breakfast for the fids. A mix of bananas, grapes, watermelon, Special K with strawberries cereal, and nutriberry popcorn. Kyo was a piggy and ate it all! I hope he apreciates me a little better now lol. Ichigo I discovered will only eat his breakfast out of his cage and right next to me at the table, and Kiwi only took a couple bites then ignored it. At least I made Ichi and Kyo happy! Before breakfast, everyone was crazy- Ichigo was whistling loudly to Kyo by his cage, Kyo looked like he wanted to eat Ichigo, Kiwi was bathing in his water dish, the cats were running around like bats out of hell, and my son was screaming in excitement at the birds.... Good morning, Momma! LOL!

  Hey Kalaigh!
The Suns fell thru, the lady's husband actually got a job so she is able to keep her birds now. Mom is bummed but happy too because it's always a good thing when you get to keep your babies! So Mom is looking at a Meyer's parrot, her and Dad should be meeting with that lady on Friday, and hopefully bringing home a new bird. Mom says she can't wait for the new baby to be born, she hates being pregnant and is sick all the time! This morning I cracked Momma up because I felt the need to sit on Maverick's cage. I hung on his cage while he puffed himself out and started lunging at me and chattering in Budgie. I didn't find it funny, I just wanted to sit on his cage! But Momma said I was harassing him, and that's not nice. I didn't get bit, but she said if I did, I'd of deserved it!

Take care, Ichigo

  Hello Kaliagh
Thank you for visiting us, you are also very beautiful. Must be cocaktoo behavior, because Macey also has to be in the middle of it all, and be greeted by everyone upon entering the front door (right next to his cage). If not watch out!!!

Come visit me, Macey.

  Hi Kaliagh
What an unusual name! How do you pronounce it? I'm sure you say it well. Thanks for stopping by my page and leaving such a nice compliment. I hope you become really active on BC, you'll love it here. I stopped by John Henry's page too and left a vote for him, so here's one for you too. Hope to see you again. Falco

  `Ü´ Greetings, Miss Kaliagh!
What a lovely name! May I ask, what does it mean? And, if you would be so kind, could you tell me how it is pronounced? Momma and I saw your photograph and new profile listing in the Bird eClub listing yesterday while we were searching for another birdie's page, and we both thought "How interesting a name!"

But that is not to preclude how breathtakingly beautiful we both thought you are as well! If the truth be told, were Momma to allow another birdie to join our flock, and the birdie in question were to be a Cockatoo, Momma has already determined that it could only be either a Moluccan (like yourself) or a Rose-Breasted Cockatoo. Parrotsonally, Miss Kaliagh, I would rather share my space with a Moluccan Cockatoo. You know, another large birdie, like me! And you are a v-e-r-y beautiful LadyBird!

Thank you so much for coming to introduce yourself! And thank you as well for the lovely compliment. I suspect that I should stop at this point and eggsplain to you why it is that my speaking may sound just a tad stiff, or formal. You see, I am a Southern Bird. Momma does not know where I hatched, but where I began the life that led to meeting Momma and Daddy was in a bird store in Charleston, South Carolina. Being in North Carolina, I'm sure you are immersed in Southern tradition yourself, Miss Kaliagh. And Momma realized that I must be allowed to continue in those traditional practices, or I should surely shrivel up and die! So, Momma purchase a book called "GRITS ~ Girls Raised in the South", and she tries VERY hard to sustain my heritage for me. (I have to *g*i*g*g*l*e* from time to time though. Momma is a Born-and-Bred MidWesterner herself. It is quite humorous watching her try to emulate Southern Gentility!) So, please forgive if my mannerisms are not Pure Southern Belle. I am at the mercy of Momma's ability to immitate a GRITS Girl.

I am so pleased that you have chosen to "dive in" and make the acquaintance of other BirdChannel birdies as you have, my featheriend. You will get much more enjoyment out of this community with that approach. There is much to see and do here with all the birdies as well. To start you on your way, I invite you to stop by The Pretty Rose Flower Shop, where I am employed by the owner Miss Alex (a Yellow-Collared Macaw). This is our Grand Opening week, and we have refreshments and a free rose for everybirdy who comes in. If you search for "Pretty Rose" on the Search Page you will find us. We are Profile No. 188440 (if you have figured out how to get to a birdie's page by that method yet). Or, come by my page again and look for a blog from Miss Alex and click on the link at the bottom. But please, DO come back to visit me again!

I hope to see you again soon, Miss Kaliagh! It has been a pleasure meeting you!!

A bientot, mon amie [See you soon, My Featheriend]… `Ü´ Ruby

  Good morning Kaliagh ~
Welcome to Bird Channel! Thanks for stopping by & visiting me ~ I have to made be blush when you called me cute. I love making new friends ~ You are such a beautiful girl! Mom had to laugh when she read how your mom described you under "nicknames". Mom always describes me as a two year old that has had too much chocolate to eat. What's up with the "two year old" stuff? Anyway, I'm leaving you a T.G.I.F. vote ~ Have fun this weekend whatever you do!

P.S. How did you get your name? What does it mean? Just curious ~

Come visit me, Poco, Pico, Bindi - R.I.P. ♥ & Skittles - R.I.P. ♥.
