 I had a Rainbow and she passed away. I decided I could not live without a Lorikeet, they are so fun and so loving. I saw an ad selling baby Rainbow Lorikeets that were not weaned yet but were for sale anyway. Having had a lot of hand feeding experience, I decided to drive the 150 miles to see the 3 babes and I chose the one with the most orange on his breast. He is doing really well, at eight weeks old today, he is still being hand fed but is sampling apple, watermelon, and nectar.. |

Hi! Buster,
It's your Friend, Apache the white face Cockatiel. Just wanted to stop by and wish you and your Daddy a Happy New Year. I'm 7 months old now - how old are you? I whistle some tunes and so far I only say Come Here, Fresh Water and Peek A Boo. My Brother, Parker who is an English Keet really says a lot of stuff. In fact my Mommy had to write it down cause he says about 30 different words and phrases and some of them Mommy never taught him. Although he mixes words up. Like he says Peek A Boo I See You. Well, a few months back he said "I See Koda" - Mommy's hair on her arms stood up cause she was thinking of that movie where the little boy says "I See Dead People" LOL. By the way Koda & Kokomo are our Siamese Cats. Well, take care and stop by when you can. I'm gonna leave you another vote. You are sooooooooooo handsome! It was so good to see you visited me! So your beak is changing color now? We do have some cute orange beaks don't we? I would love to see new pictures of you as your growing up. My mom got me at 9 months old and I already had my orange beak. So she never really saw any of my changes.Did you see who won the Virtual bird show contest? There were 3 winners! I came in second and Pico came in 3rd. I dont really know the 1st place winner harley. My mom almost fell off her chair when she found out that I won! She was so excited. There were so many pretty birds who were entered in the contest. Some birdies had to win and i was sure glad to be one of them! hah! :) So your dad is a football fan? My mom is not crazy about to many sports. Thats cool that your dad got to go see a live game though! Bet he had a lot of fun! Stop by again soon.. Hey Buster!
Its me Mango flying by to say hello and see whats new!
Mom and dad were off today! They let me play outside in my tree! I have my own tree. ;) The weather was really nice for the most part! It only rained for a little while right after dad waxed his car! Mom made a video of me talking in my tree. It should be on here by tomorrow or Wednseday. If you go to the video section you can see me in action. Look up mango! There are a few videos of me. In the new one I was saying squeeze a beak. Hi, Hi Peete and Peek-a-boo..I even made the sneezing noise and mom said bless you and I said thank you! ;) Talk soon.. I hope your having a good week.. Hello everybirdie!
So this morning I made breakfast for the fids. A mix of bananas, grapes, watermelon, Special K with strawberries cereal, and nutriberry popcorn. Kyo was a piggy and ate it all! I hope he apreciates me a little better now lol. Ichigo I discovered will only eat his breakfast out of his cage and right next to me at the table, and Kiwi only took a couple bites then ignored it. At least I made Ichi and Kyo happy! Before breakfast, everyone was crazy- Ichigo was whistling loudly to Kyo by his cage, Kyo looked like he wanted to eat Ichigo, Kiwi was bathing in his water dish, the cats were running around like bats out of hell, and my son was screaming in excitement at the birds.... You're really handsome. My Mommy thinks your Breed is really beautiful but she does not know too much about the Lory. My name is Apache and I'm a White Face Cockatiel. I'm just a Baby also at only 4 mos. old and I whistle lots of tunes including "We're Off To See The Wizard". I have a Brother, Parker who is an English Keet and he says a whole bunch of stuff including "We're Off To See The Wizard" and he's only 11 mos. old. I also have (2) Sisters, Oz who is a Rose Breasted Cockatoo. Mommy is her 3rd Owner and she said she's now in her Forever Home. Mom also wants to know if Oz knows that she's a Cockatoo cause she's very sweet and really quiet LOL. My other Sister, Cheyenne is a Meyers Parrot. Mommy calls her My Miss Attitude Bird cause she wants ALL of my Moms attention! Well, I'm gonna go now but please stop by and see us Okay? I'm also leaving you a vote. Mom always has admired rainbow lorikeets. How wonderful you have an experienced Daddy. Our mom would be nervous about hand feeding; you are so fortunate to get to the table.
