Mr Pepper dear, my daddy's checkup went pretty well, but had to have his meds readjusted, his BP was to high making him dizzy when he stands up! He must go back in three weeks for a quick re-check of things! He was really bummed for having to miss the baseball game, and it looked like good one! Congrats to Screech for joining the 10K Club! Dad has a QCPS bird club meeting this afternoon and evening, poor Arthur is going to get a nails and beak job, and I am taking bets on how much blood will be spilled, LOL! How's It Goin, Silver Slugger Pepper? I Just Want
...to tell you how well you've been doing at practice! You sure are FAST for a grey bird! Just wanted to let you know your hard work has already been noticed & noted! I thought we'd slip another practice in tomorrow. That's Friday, May 3rd.
I'm going to also be having a BBQ Sunday for all the teams. It will be a nice way to be ALL friends before we buckle down & get all serious in playing baseball. The whirlpool will also be opened for use for anybirdy and also, it might just be a lot of fun to play a game of ball that's just "play". There's swings out there, too, near the BBQ area. Hopefully, it will help remind ourselves this is for "fun" and that we're all friends with each other.
The Scruffy Birds will be there, of course, because that's where they all live!! So, there will be music & dancin' if any birds want to do that instead of a game of baseball! Hahaha!

Hey Pepper! Having A Nice Saturday? I Hope So...
....It has cooled off after a nasty storm blew through yesterday & last night. Liked the rain. The sky could keep those nasty lightening & thunders. Mom had to clear out the closet (not much, it rolls out nicely). That's our place of safety should tornadoes come. We were under a watch so she unplugged everthing & rolled out the drawers that have who knows WHAT inside. Every time I see them, though, I want to find OUT what's in there!! Oh, yes!! Anyway...
I'm just coming by to let you know, I've been trying to post the Practice Schedule for next week but the crazy BC won't let me put it in the "How we met" section. So, it is "PRACTICE", I thought it was fitting for it to be put under "quirky habits" section. If you go to the Team Page, you'll see it to the right. It's only every other day and I'm giving the weekends off since many birds & parronts do their cleaning and errands on those weekend days. Under each day you will find what we're suppose to practice for the day. All you have to do is go to the Team Page and practice like we're at Kevlar Field. ONLY for practice do we do that. You don't have to be there with all the other team mates at the same time. For some birds that is impossible, so just blog a little bit or two about practice and you're good to go.

You want to talk about EXCITING -
news of your progressive people associations is definitely a topic for discussion. Way to go, Pepper! Man, back pats and beak brushing and even a caress to the top of the head, that all sounds so amazing, especially when one stops to think about how you felt about that not too long ago. You had me laughing when you talking about the towel training sessions. Don't you love it when treats come for such an easy task? I need to come hang out with you and see how to train a towel. I want the ones here to stay far, far away from me!
Are the trees blooming in your stretch of the world yet? It takes a bit of imagination to see the leaf buds on the trees here but I do believe there may well be something there. After the 6.2" of rain we've had in the last 24 hours the trees should surely have enough to drink.

On the upside, our fabulous and relentless FBI has come up with a possible suspect in the Boston Bombing! I would like to see him hung from the same gallows as Saddam Hussein! How's things with you? What's been happening in your world lately? I hear you've been keeping an eye on the gardening activities and soaking up some sun in the process. I've managed to catch a few rays myself here lately although definitely not today. There's some wild weather out there tonight and it was wet and gray most of the day. The water's a blessing to the Earth so I'll take it, but I'll sure be happy to get back out to that aviary on a regular basis. I've seen enough of these indoor walls for awhile.

Hey Pepper!! I Can't Believe Our Team Won BOTD!!
What a shocker that was! Even more so because Mom was late getting on the BC site due to her working on a problem of retrieving her email. It was something going on the Google site & Mom & her mate couldn't get on it for almost the entire morning time. So after lunch is when she finds out WE have made BOTD! Boy were both of us floored. Yes, we were! Anyway, we've been tip tapping away at the 'thank-you' notes and figured it would only be right to let all of you see what I have written back to the masses that have voted & congratulated us for this honor. Thank you for your congrats on my BOTM. It was a surprise as I was running for May. I'm still sending my derby blogs for the month as I'm also running for 10K. Mom says then we can relax.

The first Derby was an occasion for a picnic for many race goers. Nearby residents sold pralines, chicken, and fried fish from wicker baskets in the infield to hungry patrons. The amount of food served today at the Derby is truly astounding. Levy Restaurants serve a total of 7,000 pounds of beef, 1,000 pounds of pork, 63,000 shrimp, and 200,000 hot dogs. The Derby experience would not be complete without munching on at least one of the traditional foods that have become synonymous with the Derby. Hi Pepper
Good Morning
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Jetta. I am a CAG. I first came to live here in Lakeland with the Z Flock, last September. At that time I could say about 40 to 50 words, and I knew them pretty good. Mom felt that I could say more, so she spent a lot of time with me, and I learned new words very quickly. I now know somewhere between 350 to 400, and say complete sentences.
Currently I am in Flight Training. Pops, as we refer to him, is teaching me to fly on command, and I think I am getting the hang of it. We've only been doing this a short time, but I learn quickly. It's so cool to be able to get to him when I want to. when we train, he uses special treats that I just love, to get my attention.
My "Secrets" article's will start tomorrow, and I just know you won't want to miss any of the fun facts that I will bring to you. Hey, they sure helped us, So I know you might find a few you like.

Thanks for the congratulations, I never thought it could happen so soon! Where's spring? Today it was cold once again, but at least no snow fell. Mom had a usual shift at the center, doing the raptors and the runs, where the turkey, duck, raven, and crow are living right now. The vultures decided to go outside while mom was cleaning, so she let them out, but had to leave their door open so they could come back in. That made the whole room cold! The furnace guys are coming today to replace the bad parts. Mom bought this furnace in 2009, you'd think it could last longer than 4 years. At least the parts were still under warranty. Well, I hope you are having a taste of spring where you live, and that you are having a good day with lots of mom/dad time, too. Like Sugar, I heard about your uh, foraging experience. You want my input on stuff like that, IGNORE THEM. Even if I were three minutes from starving to death and I knew there was a peanut or an almond inside some fancy contraption I wouldn't cave and attempt to try to figure it out. I'm too smart to fall for that trick.

Okay, so I caved once and now I like my round foraging wheel. I almost act insulted if my seed mix is unceremoniously dumped in a bowl anymore. Come on, give this Grey mind something to think about. But I have my limits. The round device is acceptable. All other foraging "toys" are destined to be ignored for eternity. The lunch sack that rolled up and tied to hold in the scoop of seeds and nuts it still sitting in the back of one of my in-house cardboard boxes. I know there's stuff in there, I can hear it when I toss the bag out of the way. But will I tear into it? Not even if I'm about to die of hunger. Never! Never!
Way to go on getting that nut eventually. You probably have the plasticity of that object that hindered your having that nut in your beak all figured out now. Greyt minds do that sort of thing before the prize is retrieved.

I read about your adventure with the plastic container. I don't want you to feel bad just because you didn't know what to do with it. It happens to me all the time! It's just something new and all birds need to be cautious around new things! It took me quite a while to figure things out. I have a lot of foraging toys that took me a while to figure out. I have found that with some toys all I have to do is slam them against the cage side and the peanuts fall out! It may not be the correct solution, but it works very well!
You just hang in there and it will all become "Old Hat" before you know it!!!

Wanted to stop in and say "Hi", see how you're doing with your Mama away. I wonder how you do with others providing your care, if you're okay with it or if it concerns you greytly. I wonder too if you do the stick thing for anyone and are able to hang out on the playstand or the windowsill while Mama's gone.

Long time no get to talk with you. It took baseball and signing on as a SILVER SLUGGER to grant me the chance to stop by and say "Hi".
How's things been with you? I heard you're really getting comfortable with perching on your Mama and that hanging out with her is a-okay instead of 'cary. Between you and Caden, I have two Grey friends who have made huge strides in relationships with their humans. That's really greyt, Pepper. Really great!
Me and my human, we're doing okay. I get to perch on her shoulder for part of the morning room cleaning hour. My favorite time is when I can stand on her back while the inside of my cage is wiped down and new papers spread out. I wish that task took a bit longer than just a couple of minutes. My laser sound effects have picked up in frequency lately due to some silly game one of the humans plays on his phone. It's got the wildest laser sounds which has inspired me to dredge up some of the ones I use to blast off all the time. Listening to Poirot's videos has inspired some additional chatter too. I always listen for a hint of your presence in the background. I know you're there in some of the recordings.
I'm on a fly around to SILVER SLUGGER teammate pages and am thrilled you're among those on the roster. It'll be greyt to get to play ball alongside you, Pepper. Please tell your Mama thanks for granting you permission to sign on. *Saber gives Pepper a knuckle-knock before giving a wave goodbye.*

Stopping by to say hello! I wish I had something interesting to tell you but I don't! It's been quiet around here for weeks now. It's perfectly fine with me but it does make it hard to write anything interesting!
Mom's store has the Easter stuff out already but she is kind of enjoying looking at all the stuff.

It's going to be greyt to play on a team with you, Pepper. Absolutely awesome. Looking forward to it.
How are things with you these days? Where are you at in terms of human interaction? Last I heard, I believe you were actually trying out the perching on a knee or is that something I just dreamed about? I've been quite social with my primary care person here, begging to hang on her while the room service is tended to. Yes, I said hang on her. This time of year I can't seem to get closer enough, something I'm not exactly proud to admit to. It's definitely not something I'd do if anyone else were watching. I prefer to promote the belief that the mom will never earn my forgiveness for bringing that big ugly macaw here, but when there are no witnesses, well, I confess, I do crave her attention. The other day I was literally hanging from her collar, just under her chin, dangling there as she leaned over to pick papers up, hoping for some more petting and the chance to share a little ABC pellets. My offers of love are always declined but that's okay, I'm full of perseverance. With her about to depart for her parronts' place I'm going to be left to entertain myself for a few days, unless of course I can sweet talk Max into letting me hang with him. He and I were having a great time last evening at the kitchen bar. I even allowed him to drag me around in circles by my beak. When I leaped onto his shoulder, he called mom in to get me. He's always so worried I'll put a hole in his shirt. I only do that if I think I'm being drug away so if he'd just let me stay, his shirt would be safe, I swear!
Whatever your beak finds to do today, I hope it brings you greyt joy.

Hello There Fellow Silver Slugger!
Thanks for agreeing to play Birdy Bazbol this coming season! I am very glad that we are going to be playing with one another. At this time, I am waiting for some others who have been asked but as yet haven't given me an answer. I am giving them time to mull it over! The baseball season is going to be shorter this year and won't be starting until Spring.
