I worked at an animal hospital and they were experimenting on her severely broken leg (by her momma) and the breeder wanted her put to sleep because they couldn't sell her so I took her..

Hi! My name is Gracie

I am an African Grey from Westchester, IL.

Little girlie, girlie, nino girrr, Ramona Grace, coo coo butt and my goochie goochie goo (weird I know!)

25 years old   F

African Grey

Corn, peanuts, dry bird pellets, unsalted and unbuttered pop corn (not microwave) and sometimes spaghetti. Oh and grapes and green apples too.

Under the newspaper, on the couch, on top of my cage, walking around the kitchen floor and living room and of course on moms tummy as we watch tv. I also love hanging upside down with my favorite bell!!

Loud birds and noises and strangers other than my mom. Large boxes too.

She's crazy

Pulling out her tail feathers and laying eggs. She started this when my Timneh African grey named Rodney passed away. They were close..

  Abby is home!!!!
She's a little nervous but she kept saying, "Hello" while my husband was talking on the phone earlier lol. Apparently, she likes talking at phones. She also cat called and made a beeper noise. A box of toys as well as even more donations arrived today for her, and she was quite pleased to have more toys and better food! I've got her in my bedroom right now where it's quiet and warm, and she's got a nice view of the creek behind our home. I am sooo grateful for everyone who's helped make this possible. It means so much that we got to be each other's Christmas present! And it always feels amazing to give a bird a new life.

  Hey Gracie
We got another donation for Abby in yesterday, and few others should be in before the weekend. According to my estimated calculations, Abby should be home very soon. In fact we are thinking by Monday, but we'll let you know. Thanks for visiting her page, she's got a long road of recovery ahead of her.

You have quite the story too! I love your picture. So many people say that Greys aren't cuddley, but when Abby is in a good mood, she loves cuddle up to my chest and chew on my hooded sweatshirts. She also loves to have her head scratched, but again, she has to be in a good mood and it has to be on her terms. I suspect once I have her home, we'll have many good cuddles.

  Hi Gracie, Caribe Here
Came by to say HI and leave you a vote, and thank you for stopping by. One of my flock mates, Jessie, is a handicapped bird (she's a grey, too). She broke a wing when she was a baby bird and it never healed right, so she can't fly, and she has a deformed toe on one foot (she falls off her perch now and then), but Dad still loves her a lot. I think that's why he likes her so much. Anyway, you guys have a fun Halloween!

Come visit me, Chili, Jessie, Romeo, Caribe & Sunny.

  Hi Gracie
First off welcome to the BC. You are so lucky to have a loving mom who interceded on your behalf and took you home. She is an angel and you are a beautiful bird. We recently rescued 3 dogs from a kill shelter and they only had about 2 minutes before they were to be euthanized. They are a sheltie, rhodesian ridgeback and a husky. Needless to say I always get them in trouble as I squawk at nothing and they get scolded. I call them stupid dogs.
Hope your stay here is fun and you meet tons of new friends. Take care. Left you a vote. Hope you will stop and leave a blog.
