My girlfriend had been wanting a Quaker for a while. I was in Petsmart, where they had two. One seemed more willing to stay with me than the other, so I got that one. She was supposed to be for my girlfriend, but picked me!. Awards

  Hi Lindsay!
It's me Beowulf! Nice of you to stop by my place so we could chat a bit. Re your question about BOTD, I think you're doing what is required for that. That is, you're visiting lots of birds on BC and, of course, that's allowing them to see just how regal you are -- as well as, well, oh, just plain cute. (Know that doesn't sound royal but, hey, when you're cute, you're cute.) Anyway, I'm relatively new here myself but that really doesn't matter. What happens is that the Calendar Page, overseen by Sugar, receives nominations from one or more birds you've visited. Sugar carefully looks to see if there's a date open and, if there is, and you have been active on BC, she will notify you that you of the date you are to be BOTD. (Very exciting, really.) THEN Sugar will copy your avatar and place it into her aviary the day before you are to be BOTD. That way, BC birds can easily click on it and go to your page to vote for you. Meanwhile, you should get lots of rest until voting day (day before you become BOTD) because you'll need to fly around and ask as many BC birds as possible to vote for you. (The "rule" is that the bird who gets the most votes on any one day becomes BOTD the next; however, if you are nominated and Sugar drops by to see you, you are pretty sure that you will become BOTD. Still, you need to get as many votes as possible on your "Vote Day.") Sugar works the process real well in order to ensure that the same few birds aren't BOTD all the time. Soooo, Linday, keep flying by to say hi to your friends and make new ones, and you too can be BOTD! I had a wonderful time in the castle and met tons of new friends -- and I'm sure you will, too. Who knows, I could be the one who nominates you! Have a wonderful day. (BTW, mom says she's soon going to move my photo with the crown down with my other photos and remove other references to my being BOTD. Bummer. I LOVE my crown, but she has a point. My day is past; it's time to fly on.) Shall leave you a vote.

Come visit me, Beowulf.

  Hi, Lindsay,
What a cute Quaker you are. We don't have any Quakers here in California, so we have to peruse the wonderful photos of Quakers here at the BC. We are 'tiels, but Mom loves all birds. (Dad had hawks.) Fly by and check us out sometime.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi Lindsay
Wow! Your dad has had a lot of experience with parrots. How are you getting along with Forest? Polly(quaker), likes ears sometimes. Zippy ('tiel) likes the shiny earrings mom forgets to remove--she ate a small saphire once.
Warn dad, sometimes bonding changes. Polly liked Abby for years, even after she moved from home, but now prefers mom except if Paul has been giving him more attention.

Come visit me, Polly; Summertime! & Zippy; WOW, Thank You Friends for this honor!.
