I was on the floor of Pottsee's Exotics, a very nice bird store in Bellflower, California. I was in a small cage when I saw two people walk in. The lady sat down and looked down and noticed me and asked the shop owner what kind of bird I was and he told her that I am a Cinnamon Green-Cheeked Conure and I'm not very common.
Then a man came over and the owner's wife put me on his hand. I just sat there, looking around, not too sure what to do. The man handed me to the lady and she held me for a while and then put me on a stand.
Well, I saw my chance and launched myself off the stand and climbed up the book racks. The owner's wife had to get me down. But she gave me back to the man and he talked to me real quietly for a while.
Well, that was all she wrote. I went home with my new mom and dad and now I'm part of the La Habra flock.

Hi! My name is GINGER

I am a Green-Cheeked Conure from La Habra, CA.

Ginger Bird, Gin-Gin, Buzz-Saw. Buzzy, Feathered Beaver.

5 years old   F

Green-Cheeked Conure

Tropical fruit treat sticks, Apples. Anything made of wood. Dad's nose.

On the top of her cage or on top of her neighbors cages.

Anything strange that is brought into my field of view.

They talk to me and let me sit in the living room with them and watch TV. That's kind of cool. I also have lots of wooden toys.

Every time her water is changed, she takes a bath in it. Anything made of wood has a very short life span.
She also serves as the La Habra flock's "Early Warning" system. Anytime she sees or hears something that she feels is a threat, which is just about everything, she sounds the "Alarm".

LA Fitness today: Dad had an adventure keeping his commitment of going to the gym:
The real work-out was trying not to fall down my driveway or in the street. Everything was sheer ice.
Crawled/Slid/Skidded down the driveway -and the street was worse.

Ice-covered by water - no way to get a foothold anywhere. HE IS BAD ON ICE

Monday Dad got me in the Travel Cage and took me to get my claws done with Aunt Maria.
I decided, for a change, not to fight it, and it passed quickly. Dad even bought some extra seeds for me while he was there. I must say, it was nice getting out as I've been stuck at home for the past couple months in record-cold temperatures.

  Flitzer Final February Post
THE LOST ART OF THE INTERMISSION:
.
For many years, longer films were planned with Intermisisons. the story would take a dramatic pause, the music would swell, and the audience got to take a break to use the bathrooms, visit the Refreshment Stand etc.
--
I always loved the Intermission music. Often in the older theaters, curtains would dramatically close on the Intermission, and slowly open when Part 2 began.
--
Nowadays we're forced to sit for 2 1/2, 3 hrs or more without a break.
[The Lord of the Rings films are good examples - they are long, involved, and you're lost if you had to take a break away from the screen].

Even revivals of older films will skip right over the Intermission - forcing you to shift in your seat - and hold it in for another extended period of time - ~ugh~
--
Unfortunately, after paying the high ticket-prices we need to *er* …"step away" from the film for a few minutes, missing possibly something interesting.
--
Theater owners are always conscious of how many showings they can fit in per day, but I say BRING BACK THE INTERMISSION. People *will* spend more for refreshments, and not have to miss any of the movie.

  Hi Ginger
This morning was a cold bright sunny day with the highs to be 28 and the lows 12.Right now we're at 14.Mom got us all up early fed and cleaned our cages and then made blueberry pancakes for skin bro,he came super early to take Mom to see Nana at the hospital. Mom had a very upsetting night with Nana.Mom got a phone call at 1:15am this morning from Nana telling Mom come right away to pick Nana up at the hospital, only Nana told Mom that she was being held hostage in her own home,Mom was so upset and asked her how she got home and she just said she walked out and these cleaning ladies were after her and beat her up and took her hostage,so Mom asked her where are you, what is your address and she gave the hospitals address,Mom could hear the nurse in the background. Then the nurse got on the phone and told Mom that Nana was being combative all night and she ripped out her iv's and her catheter and she was getting two bags of blood. She was very anemic and had lost a lot of blood during surgery. They thought(nurses)that if Mom talked with Nana it would calm her down. But it didn't.It was so confusing. So a nurse had to stay in the room with Nana all night long as she kept trying to get out of bed,Mom got another call from Nana at 1:30am this morning telling her that Mom had to come right now and get her and take her home. She was being held hostage in another part of her house by these people. Then Mom got another call at 6:00am this morning from Nana telling her that she has to come and get her and Mom told her she'd be in as soon as skin bro got out of work, then the nurse spoke with Mom again and told her that he was talking to Nana about her younger days and Nana seemed to like that. When Mom and skin bro got to the hospital this morning Nana was sleeping finally, she had just fallen asleep right before they got there,so she and skin bro let her sleep, and the nurse asked if Mom was going to stay awhile and Mom said yes and if Mom left to notify them so they could get a nurse back in there to keep watch over her again. She's talking crazy and was examined by a case worker and she was ruled out from having a stroke, she could grab with her hands tightly,so they have an idea that its just the anesthesia messing up her mind. She eats very little and wants to take everything home with her, even the blankets and sheets on the bed.She even wants to pack up all the food she has to take home with her.Mom just called her and she's told Mom that she was at Stop&Shop doing her grocery shopping and then she's going to an exercise class and for Mom or skin bro to pick her up right now!
Sorry for the short blog,Mom has had another very long day at the hospital, she was there from 9:30am to nearly 8:00pm with still yet another long long day for tomorrow again, how long does it take for her to get lucid? This is too upsetting for Mom.This is definitely not the Nana she and we all know.
We all are so blessed and grateful to have you in our lives, you mean the world to all of us

Dad's Special Movie Memory:
As kids we would get to a movie theater once in a while. Mostly for a Kids Matinee.
We almost never visited the Refreshment Stand. There was one special time which was an exception.
Dad was treated to a special movie with his Mom. They went without the rest of the family -and It was an evening showing, She even bought him popcorn. Can't recall if it was a Birthday or whatever - just that it was a special night.

The film was "MARY POPPINS", which, ever since has been a special movie for Dad.

We spoke earlier this month about how a few notes of music can make a movie-memory come sweeping back. Any music from ‘Mary Poppins’ makes Dad think of that special Movie Night with his Mom.

  Hi Ginger
This morning was another cold morning here and it started snowing again a little after 10:00am this morning.Mom got us up and fed us and quickly cleaned our cages and swept our room a little as skin bro was on his way over to pick her up to take her to the hospital to be there in time for Nana's hip surgery.Mom had tried calling the hospital all morning to find out when the surgery was going to be and finally after being bounced around from one floor to the other she talked to someone who told her it would be at 1:00pm.Skin bro stopped at Nana's house to check on my cousins,Bella and Trixie II.Skin bro is taking really good care of them.Mom changed out their papers and skin bro gave Bella more to eat before we took off for the hospital.Mom had called her sister this morning to tell her about Nana and she met us at the hospital shortly after we got there.Nana was so tired as she got no sleep all last night because of the severe pain she was in and while Mom and skin bro were there they took more blood from her asked more medical history questions, gave her more meds for the severe pain she was in and then the surgeon came and marked her leg in purple ink that was to be operated on.She never got in at 1:00pm and it was sometime after 2:00pm that they finally brought her down to the OR.The dr told us it would be about an hour and a half for the surgery but Mom and her sister and skin bro were sitting in the waiting room for three and a half hours waiting for word.Mom and skin bro hadn't eaten anything all day and were quite tired and bored just sitting there waiting and worrying! When Nana finally came back from the OR the nurses did their thing with her again, blood pressure, temperature, etc.then Mom,her sister and skinbro could go in and see her.She was so nauseous and they had brought her a tray of jello, chicken broth, tea and apple juice but the nurse didn't want her to eat any of it so she told Mom and skinbro and her sister to eat it,skin bro had the apple juice,Mom's sis had the jello and Mom tried some of the chicken broth but didn't like it!Nana will be in the hospital for three more days and then by Sunday they will transport her to a rehab center, she doesn't want to go and if she has to go there Mom wants her to go to Spaulding in Sandwich and her sister wants her to go to JML.Nana sides with Mom if she has to go she'll chose Spaulding! Its been another really long day for Mom she's been at the hospital with nothing to eat or drink all day again and didn't get home til 7:00 tonight and my dad came home shortly after that! Then Mom had to get my dad something for dinner and they were having dinner by nine tonight,Mom gave him another heat and eat dinner with mashed potatoes, poor dad hasn't had much of a good dinner in days now!Mom is just too tired by the time she gets to come home!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm GCC hugs and soft GCC kisses,Loving you always and forever sweet Ginger!

  Flitzer on Winners and Classics
Kiddo raised an interesting topic: Films that did Not win The Academy Award for 'Best Picture', but they are now classics, many times surpassing the Oscar-winning film.
--
in the Awards Game there has to be a winner, and losers. There will be endless discussion as to outcomes, but only time makes a film a true Classic.
A couple of examples:
--
The Year: 1941. The Oscar-Winning film, "How Green was My Valley" [a personal favorite and a wonderful film], but the nominee that did not get the award was "Citizen Kane" which many feel is one of the Greatest Films Ever Made.
--
The Year: 1952. The Oscar-Winning Film, "The GreatestShow on Earth"
...same year as "High noon" and "The Quiet Man"
--
The Year: 2005. The Oscar-Winning Film, "Crash"
...same year as "Brokeback Mountain", a film which many consider a Classic.
= = =
Will this year's winner, "Birdman", remain considered the Best of the year?
or will “American Sniper”, "Boyhood" or even "The Grand Budapest Hotel" be remembered...only time will tell.

Come visit me, King Flitzer hangin in Hollywood.

This morning is a bright sunny morning but after the 4 inches of new snow we got here all what was starting to show of the ground is now covered up again. The highs for the day will be 33 and the lows will be 15 and right now its 25.My dad was supposed to go to work at 3:00am this morning but he got a phone call around 12:30am telling him to be in work right now so at 1:00am he was gone.Mom is supposed to be going out to run some errands with Nana and skin sis today and pay some bills but they are waiting for skin sis to get out of her drs appointment, she had to go over for a blood test.As soon as she gets back from that they may be going out depending on how the roads are.Mom got us all up and cleaned and fed us our warm pastene/egg/veggie mix and she is waiting to hear from skin bro,he usually comes over for breakfast and coffee.Mom is going to get as much done in the house as she can before she has to leave.

  Flitzer Wednesday Thoughts . . .
Still in "Recovery-Mode" from Hollywood's Big Night.

--
Some of you BirdChannel friends have expressed that they don't watch The Oscars.
Dad doesn't really like the Hollywood Glamor-thing and some of the industry politics,
but we do love movies.
--
Often we are disappointed with what films and actors win the awards. That is all a part of the game. We often look back on past years with a knowing smirk, realizing that the movies we liked best that year are the ones that are still being watched and appreciated.
--
All that being said, we do like tuning in that one night a year, when Hollywood goes all-out and celebrates the talent, work and yes, the tackiness of The Hollywood Movie Machine.

  Hi Ginger
This morning is a bright and sunny morning but it sure is so cold out there! Right now we are at 10 degrees and the highs for the day will be 17 and the lows will be 16. We are expecting snow tonight some say around 8:00pm others say around midnight so now Mom isn't sure whether my dad will be coming home or not,so plans for dinner are back up in the air.Skin bro called Mom a few minutes after she had got done with cleaning our cages and giving us our warm pastene/egg/veggie mix and told her he was in the driveway so she opened the garage door to let him in.He wanted her to give him a haircut which she did as he was going for an interview at Sears in the Mall later on in the afternoon. This is his second call back for Sears, they called him in on Sunday.Hopefully he'll get this job. Then Mom made him a cornbread breakfast with Apple Pie coffee. He stayed and played with our fister Candida, she got to share in his breakfast and he left a little before noon time to go home and shower and get ready to go back into Hyannis for the interview. After he left Mom re vacuumed the house as she had to give him a haircut in the house.
That Golden Corral sounds like quite the place to chow down!We used to have a place like that over the Bridge called Bonanza and man could you stuff yourself there and we used to have a really BIG place here in Hyannis called Cape Cod Buffet! Its long since gone now and the building is still empty. We're waiting to see what goes in it next!My dad just called Mom and he'll be home tonight but he's gotta be in work at 3:00am so we won't be getting much time in with him tonight,he'll have dinner shower and shave and go to bed,Mom will be packing his lunch cooler boxes with more sandwiches and snacks, juice boxes and KCups, breakfast bars and pop tarts. And getting the coffee maker ready to go for his thermos, all because it going to start snowing here again here tonight. Will spring ever get here and some warmer temperatures?

  Flitzer Parties with the Stars
Inside Oscar’s Glamorous After-Parties
--
The night doesn’t end when the final Oscar is handed out. In fact, the party is just getting started as stars and execs exit the Dolby Theater, heading to a flurry of post-awards celebrations, including the Governors Ball, the Vanity Fair Party, Elton John’s AIDS Foundation party and more.

--
The Governors Ball
By the time celebs arrived at the Governors Ball, they were ravenous. As usual, the event was catered by Wolfgang Puck -- a fact he made sure everyone was aware of.
Before the Oscars began, he walked the entire red carpet in his chef's whites with a tray displaying some of the treats partygoers would be offered at the after-party. Among them: caviar-topped baked potatoes, chicken pot pie and mac and cheese with aged cheddar. There was also a dessert bar, though most guests skipped the cookies and cupcakes in favor of Puck's trademark mini gold-covered chocolate Oscars. The candy men were kept just feet from a station where winners headed with their real gold statues and queued up to wait for engraving.

Elton John Oscars Party
The Elton John AIDS Foundation hosted its 2015 Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood on Sunday. The annual event, now in its 23rd year, serves as a star-studded fundraiser for the organization, which John founded in 1992 to support HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and awareness.

John and his husband David Furnish serve as co-hosts. Gordon Ramsay is once again providing a five-course gourmet dinner, and there will be a special musical performance. John, who joined Instagram in December to document his wedding to Furnish, is now using his account to share intimate pictures from the exclusive celebration. Before the Oscars ceremony began, the music legend revealed $4.85 million had already been raised, and later shared an adorable picture of his sons watching “Uncle Neil” Patrick Harris host the show.

Miley Cyrus, Heidi Klum, Nina Dobrev, the Osbournes, Aaron Paul, Alec Baldwin, Rob Lowe are among the celebrities in attendance. Plenty more are expected to join the festivities once the Academy Awards show ends.

  Hi Ginger
This morning was another start of a grey and dismal looking day,the highs for the day are 25 and the lows for the day will be -1.Right now its 21.Mom just finished getting us all cleaned and fed and our water bottles pulled to be sterilized and cleaned when skin bro called to tell Mom he was in the driveway,so Mom opened the door to let him in.She made him a scrambled egg breakfast with warm pan buttered toast and peach cobbler coffee. He went and got our fister Candida out and she shared his breakfast with him and peeled off all the butter on his toast and ate that and some of his eggs! While skin bro and Candida were eating Mom cleaned up the kitchen and got all the dishes and our water bottles ready to be sterilized and then she came and sat with skin bro while he finished eating. He stayed until noon time and then he took off to run some errands and Mom then continued on with her house chores and finally got to vacuum the whole downstairs as it was a mess from everyone coming and going yesterday and she finally got the cobwebs that were thick all over our big play gym in our bird room. From there she went on a cobweb hunt and vacuumed all the ceilings and corners up high and windows, just where do all these cobwebs come from?Mom says sometimes she feels like she lives in the Addams Family mansion!
That show your sweet parronts went to see really sounds interesting,it always makes the show special when the actors are good and portray the characters well!We are in for more snow tomorrow and into Wednesday,Ugggghhhh!Enough already!Spring where are you?

The closing when the customers won't come

There's no business like show business
Like no business I know..."

Dad says it will take a couple of Blogs to cover his disorganized reactions to the 87th Acadmy Awards. [Dad is old and scatter-brained anyway, but I love him].

First Things First: The Opening Number was Awesome. The best in years.
The other highlight of the show was Lady Gaga's tribute to the 50th anniversary of "The Sound of Music" -like her or not, her performance was phenomenal.

Although Dad thinks there were better films last year, anything called "Birdman" gets my vote too. It took hom 4 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
-
Dad's favorite film this year was "Whiplash" which won three awards, including JK Simmons winning for Best Supporting Actor - Dad says he had the best performance of the year and his gold statue was the most deserved.
--
It's interesting that each of the eight nominees for 'Best Picture' went home with at least one Oscar

  Hi Ginger
This morning is a dull dark morning and pouring rain and the highs of 36 and the lows of 23 and right now we are at 34.All the icicles are gone and some of the snow on the roofs have melted some and we survived the night and our house is still intact and our tv room roofs never caved in.Hopefully the rain that we'll be getting will completely melt all the snow before it starts to freeze up again. My dad is out there trying to clean up most of the snow and clear it all away from our mailbox while its slushy. And he's going to try and get any other snow away from the house and off the roofs if he can reach it.Now its snowing out and Mom is hoping that it doesn't amount to much.Skin sis is on her way down today to do laundry and to bake with Mom and she'll be bringing our frother and fister with her so we will get to visit today.Other than that it's going to be a quiet day and hopefully uneventful.Well it turned into a very eventful day here.My dad was digging out the mailbox when skin sis showed up with our brother and fister,as she was down the cellar getting her laundry in,skin bro came in,he was on his way back from Hyannis from a job interview at Sears in the Mall. Then Mom gave Celine a beak trim with the dremmel, and both she and Peepers got nail trims. Then the phone rang and Dad was called out to work and then Mom and skin sis started baking, they made brownies, coconut blondies, simple smores bars, corn bread, pineapple right side up cake.As the last two recipes were baking in the oven,Mom made both skin sibs and herself some lunch of stir fried turkey breast in caramelized onions, with lettuce and chipotle dressing in a wrap. Then Mom served a sample of the things they made and by the time they were finished it was time for the skin sibs to leave so Mom gave them each containers to take half of what she and skin sis made. After they left,Mom cleaned up the kitchen, all the baking dishes, mixing bowls, utensils and put the rest of what wasn't taken in containers and got everything cleaned and put away. Now Mom is waiting on dad to come home and as usual she has no idea if and when he'll be coming home tonight. Our weather went from rain to snow and then we had some sun late in the day.Mom brought us some cornbread for a snack and was that so good.
Your poor dad getting so frustrated with your Mom's dad and his computer! What are they doing with all those 1,500 emails? And for your sweet daddy to tell your Mom's dad where to connect the cables and for him to argue the whole thing with him!I can see where your poor daddy would be a wreck and have dinner ruined for him with all those phone calls! We have rain and we have snow, how about I send you some,we don't want any of it,its going to be a skating rink here tomorrow on all the roads here! Our temperatures are supposed to dip into the single digits by tomorrow morning!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm GCC hugs and soft GCC kisses!Loving you always and forever, sweet Ging

Flitzer ready to co-Host The Oscars
Oscar Sunday
= = = = = = = = = = = =
Singing: "It’s a wonderful night for Oscar…Oscar, Oscar!" --Billy Crystal
= = = = = = = = = = = =

Billy Crystal is my favorite Oscar Host. He has hosted NINE Times between 1990 and 2012.
As far as I'm concerned he could keep on hosting.
--
The origin of the name Oscar is disputed. One biography of Bette Davis claims that she named the Oscar after her first husband, band leader Harmon Oscar Nelson; Walt Disney is also quoted as thanking the Academy for his Oscar as early as 1932.
Another claimed origin is that the Academy's Executive Secretary, Margaret Herrick, first saw the award in 1931 and made reference to the statuette's reminding her of her "Uncle Oscar" (a nickname for her cousin Oscar Pierce). Columnist Sidney Skolsky was present during Herrick's naming and seized the name in his byline, "Employees have affectionately dubbed their famous statuette 'Oscar'". The trophy was officially dubbed the "Oscar" in 1939 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

I am ready for a great night. We have snacks, a coffee cake, champagne and Dad'll be picking up "subs" [Submarine Sandwiches]. Just a small party.

Have a great night, everyone. ~Wings Up~

  Hi Ginger
Boy do I sure agree with you!We work so hard every minute of the day to make our cages just right for us to live in them comfortably and our parronts come in without a second thought and just destroy everything all our hard work took to make this beautiful artwork of ours!Mom hauled all ours out to the dump yesterday and we just all had to begin all over again when she put those fresh papers down for us!I'm with you in that we are very very artistic fids!Who else can make pretty confetti out of mostly anything at all?And who has a beak that can shred a chicken bone into the many different shards of lengths like we can and just leave the bone looking like a toothpick?
This morning was a bright sunny morning with our highs for the day to be 31 and our lows to be 31,what's with that? Right now its 32 degrees and we just lost the sunshine moments ago and now it looks like the snow will be moving in soon.My dad was out on the lowest roof, the tv room where he could drill some holes in the ice there to make a place for the water to go through for the rain we're supposed to get tomorrow. But the drill wouldn't go in far enough so he finally had to quit. Then he came in and was devising a plan of escape for us if and when the roof caved in in the tv room. He's leaving everything unlocked so we will have a way out and Mom is getting quite nervous about that. She doesn't want to see our house in trouble or in danger. She doesn't want anything to happen to our house at all.We are still getting mail in the box that Mom put out there on Thursday and I guess that's the way it's going to be for now as the mail trucks can't get near our mail box and they won't get out of their trucks to put the mail in the box.Mom cleaned our cages this morning and fed us our warm pastene/egg/veggie mix and most of us ate it all so far.Mom's been busy mopping up after my dad as he comes in and out of the house with his big yellow snow covered boots.Mom is so disenchanted with this winter and has given up on washing any of the floors until all this snow is gone and they'll be no more tracking in the snow and ice on boots, shoes etc.The wind is starting to pick up out there too and we can only hope that our dad won't have to go back to work tonight when it begins snowing here again. We are hoping to get to the Milonga on time but now that all depends on when my dad will be working and Mom will be having to get his things ready for him to leave again.
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm GCC hugs and soft GCC kisses!Loving you always and forever, sweet Ginger,Love Dixie

  Flitzer's Saturday Squawks
Instead of saying who I think will win Oscars, or who should win, I will simply concentrate on what I consider the Best Films for the year.
********************************************
Top Films of 2014: My Top Films this year:
********************************************
#1: “Whiplash”: (Dir: Damien Chazelle).
"Whiplash" is such an amazing film in every way. The Directing, the Writing, the Editing, the Cinematography. The performances are outstanding.

A film about Talent, Ambition, Obsession. Pushing oneself beyond known abilities. - -Soaring above the rest.
"Whiplash" won both The Audience Award and The Grand Jury Prize at Sundance - an amazing feat.

Filmed more like a thriller than a film about music, it becomes a battle of wills between our protagonist [Miles Teller] and his mentor-[a truly amazing J.J. Simmons]. It is an exhilarating work from the start to it's adrenaline-rushing finish.
.......
#2: “Boyhood”: (Dir: Richard Linklater).
A celebration of Life and being human. A simple story of growing up becomes profound and moving. Filmed over 12 years, the story and characters grow as the real-life filmmakers do, and the end-result is wonderful.

Richard Linklater is a talented, insightful director. I think the time has come to acknowledge his achievements.
.......
3. “Calvary”: (Dir: John Michael McDonagh)
Beautiful, sad and scathing portrait of a simple priest struggling with his own humanity and trying to do good in a small sinful town.
A truly great performance by Brendan Gleeson and a portrait of the True Power of Forgiveness. It is a film of Faith, of Doubt and Transcendence.
.......
4. “Birdman” (Dir: Alejandro González Iñárritu)
Michael Keaton shines in this fascinating exploration of Creativity, Talent and the cost of Fame. The tale winds seamlessly and breathlessly to the last shot.
.......
5. “The Babadook” (Dir: Jennifer Kent).
A superior horror tales that is brilliant in every way. What an amazing first film: Writing, Direction, Cinematography --- pitch-perfect performances.
An amazing film that works on a few different levels.
.......
6. "Edge of Tomorrow"
7. "Enemy"
8. "Ida"
9. "Into the Woods"
10. "Jodorowsky's Dune"
11. "Locke"
12. "The Immigrant"

  Hi Ginger
This morning was a bright sunny but freezing morning with the starting temps of 6 degrees, our highs for the day 16 and our lows 7.My dad finally came home from work from last night at 5:00am this morning and he was starving so Mom got him a bowl of cereal and then she and dad went back to bed for a while before Mom had to get ready to leave to take the trash and all the recyclables to the dump and collect Nana's stuff for the dump also.Mom's car was so full she could barely fit anymore stuff in it from the back seat to the trunk. She took care of us first before she left, fed and cleaned our cages and left the radio on for us got dad something to eat and did what dishes were left in the sink and then she left. When she got to Nana's house, she loaded all of Nana's trash and recyclables in her car also and had to take some things out to fit more trash and recyclables in,(Our car seat)and some other things so everything could fit in right. It was getting late so they went to Church in Falmouth to go to the Stations of the Cross first, then Mom went to the bank, and got her car filled with gas,she was riding on fumes, then to the post office to mail out her bill(our mail person doesn't do that right now as she can't get out of the truck)then they went to the dump,(it was freezing there)then to Stop&Shop and they got some groceries to make dinner with for tonight and got a few other clearance buys, then to Walgreen's where Mom bought 35 rolls of toilet paper that was on sale and was well needed as we were on the last roll, then as it was 2:00pm they went back to Nana's and had lunch.Nana made them a salad with fresh tomato and tuna with challa bread.Skin bro came in as they were finishing eating and he had some tea and custard pie with them,he had been on another job interview in West Falmouth at a grocery store there. He had come to Nana's to do his wash. Then Mom came home to find a sinkfull of dishes that dad had left from his lunch so Mom had to wash the pans, soup cup, breakfast bowl, coffee maker carafe and get it ready with coffee, and all our dishes from our breakfast from this morning, then put all the groceries away. And as soon as she gets done with dinner she'll be all ours to be with and snuggle with for the night.Mom is so cold she's not going to be far from the heat box.Dad tried chipping away at the ice in our driveway today and also tried getting some snow off our roof but he couldn't get much done as the rake he used was too short and didn't reach far enough!
Your poor daddy having the frames he liked sold out, then to find the prescription being too strong for their lab.My dad has the same problem,he gets two pair of glasses one for every day use and then the special sunglasses he needs for driving or when the sun is too bright for his eyes so his glasses cost Mom over $600.00.And your sweet daddy does have to see when he's working and driving!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm GCC hugs and soft GCC kisses!Lo
