 I was on the floor of Pottsee's Exotics, a very nice bird store in Bellflower, California. I was in a small cage when I saw two people walk in. The lady sat down and looked down and noticed me and asked the shop owner what kind of bird I was and he told her that I am a Cinnamon Green-Cheeked Conure and I'm not very common.
Then a man came over and the owner's wife put me on his hand. I just sat there, looking around, not too sure what to do. The man handed me to the lady and she held me for a while and then put me on a stand.
Well, I saw my chance and launched myself off the stand and climbed up the book racks. The owner's wife had to get me down. But she gave me back to the man and he talked to me real quietly for a while.
Well, that was all she wrote. I went home with my new mom and dad and now I'm part of the La Habra flock.. |

I see you got the coconut back huh? Looks good sweetie! :)
Mom and aunt Debi went to the zoo yesterday to look at the parrots and mom was fine. They saw some Sally look alikes and mom was okay till they were leaving and then it started. They sounded just like Sally and mom broke down. They more they walked away the louder she squawked and it got louder and louder and the more mom heard it the more she broke down.
Mom told aunt Debi that they have to leave and that she was sorry. Never did mom ever think that the zoo over here would have a Sallykins look alike. It was devastating for mom. So, today aunt Debi went to work and mom is home resting. They will do stuff tomorrow as they branch over here will be taking her out to dinner and stuff.

Game tomorrow!
On Wednesday, we have game two of the season against the
Kevlar Keets. Never underestimate the Keets--they are
playing in the stadium that bears their name, and they are
force to be reckoned with!
Of course, both Co-Captain Calico and I know we have a
team that is strong, and coming off our first win--so we
are pretty confident that we can keep things on the
winning side!
Practice will be an hour before the game, so come early.
Get a good night's rest, and eat a great breakfast, too!
Lizzie will be providing snacks for us during the game, as
she does all the time. And afterward we can get together
at the Bar and Grill to kick back and relax!

Okay thanks, I think mom has ta go on the big puter to view it cause she been using the tele as her arm still hurts.
Yeah mom be getting old. :)
She sees the Orthopaedic doctor on Tuesday and then hopefully they can schedule her for the MRI thingy.

Tell your daddy thank you for me.
Mom is taking a week vacation while Indiana SAMs mom is here for a vacation.
Mom has rendered counsel in her work comp case.
She's gonna see the Orthopaedic doctor on Tuesday for a treatment plan a f including an MRI.
Mom could not handle the light work duty at work so some days will be leave without pay as she had to exhaust her sick leave which she didn't have much of.
Well keep you posted and Pookie says hi and can't wait to get back online.

Today it was hard to get to BC earlier. Tomorrow we will be celebrating my hatchday #10. Mommy bought a cake for me. It will be a busy day for us tomorrow. Mommy has been working 5am to 12:30 during the last week. The weather is in the 80's range here. See you next week.

FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON
Hi fellow Pois, It's Capatin Calico.
Tomorrow, Monday, 12th is the first game of the 2013 Birdie Baseball Season and we're playing the first game, against theC-2 White Hawks.
There will be a pre-game show at 2:30pm eastern time and the game will start at 3:00pm eastern time.
I know we have not had a chance to practice as a team. Kaji and I have been swampped. I'm sure all of you have been practicing on your own and Iknow we'll do a great job. Let's try to make a great showing at the first game of the season.

Mommy says me and Jester have to share computer time. One day I will blog, and Jester will not, and the next Jester will blog and I will not. But if mommy has enough time she might do it for both of us. (:
I got to meet Jester. Don't worry, I was with mommy and Jester was on a chair, she didn't let us too close to each other and doesn't plan on doing that anytime soon. We do like to talk to each other, when we are in different rooms we screech back and forth. :P He makes silly animal sounds. He can sound like a dog, monkey, and rooster! hehe! Maybe he can teach me to make those noises, the only animal noise I can make is a cat purr.
Mommy has been pretty good at making sure we both get plenty of time with her, so it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. (:

Mommy got some news last night that really cheered her up. At her last bird club meeting, she got to meet her friend's foster bird. She fell in love with him, so did grandma, and even grandpa liked him. Sadly, he was going to be adopted by another woman. Last night, mommy got a email from her friend saying that the adoption fell through. You should have seen her, she would so very happy. So now there is a very good chance that mommy is going to bring him home. She is so excited! The bird's name is Jester. He is a 16 year old male citron cockatoo, and mommy says he is so very sweet. He doesn't have perfect feathers on his legs, wings, or tail, but they are starting to grow back. I'm not very excited about this, but it makes me happy to see mommy so happy because she used to be so sad.

Yes Monday was one huge party night . I been resting all day and soaking my feet from all that dancing my wings are sore from the swimming it was a great day though. Mommy went to the bird show yesterday and only got me a fleece snuggle toy, I'm a bit upset about that. The budgies got a bunch of toys so I don't think it's all that fair, but oh well. Mommy said she still has a bunch of toys for me that haven't been put in my cage yet, so I guess it's okay.
I got to go to the park on Saturday. It was very beautiful outside! While we were there, a little girl sat with us and asked mommy a whole bunch of questions about me and the budgies. Mommy thought is was quite adorable. When we got home I got to eat some ice cream. I think that was the best part. :P

Today is Wednesday, our blogging day. There is no more overtime available for now. The parront only works straight time 5-10AM. She keeps herself doing household shores and running errands on the streets. We just get a little more time off the cage compared to when she used to work overtime. We spend Easter in jail heee. Messy food is the best! :P
Today mommy spent 45 minutes feeding the budgies millet, and I am not very happy about that! She could have spent that time giving me scritches! Do they really need somebody to hold their millet while they eat it? Can't they just eat it on the floor? :(
The new feather painting in my gallery is of a baby crimson bellied conure. It's painted on 7 nanday conure tail feathers, and took about 3-4 hours.:)

I hope you and your family had a Happy Easter!
Mommy got some blackberries at the store the other day, and I am super happy about that! Blackberries are one of my favorites! I dig my beak into them and rip the whole thing apart! I was eating one on top of my cage yesterday, and mommy was painting at her desk. Well, I decided to throw the blackberry at her shirt. She wasn't too happy about that. It left a big purple stain. hehe!

Sorry I haven't blogged in so long! I'm okay, and mommy is okay. She is finally able to walk again (YAY!).
I just finished up a very heavy molt. I lost soooo many feathers! Mommy's room was filled with them!

Today is Wednesday. The parront works a lot of overtime during the week. On her days off she run errands and do household shores. Oki and I spend most of the time in jail. We still don't get along. Mommy would be very happy if we would mate so we would accompany each other. Its raining here but the weather is in the 70 range. Its spring break so the airport is getting busier.

Today is wednesday, blog day for Baby and I. The parront has been busy working overtime because there will be a furlough on April 7 when all overtime will be frozen. Yesterday she was on the streets running errands. Meanwhile Baby and I unfortunately spend most of the time in jail. Since we dont have internet at home and the parront agendada is very busy we can only blog once a week, What a bird life!!!!!!!

Mommy says thanks for the get better wishes! Her ankle is doing much better, the swelling almost gone, and it's just bruised a little bit. Grandma said she still isn't allowed to walk on it for another week so she doesn't hurt it more. So that means another week of cuddles! :) Pictures from bird club last Sunday are up in my gallery. Look at the ekkie, isn't his grey fluff adorable?! There is also a new feather painting of me in my gallery. Mommy made it into a necklace so she can wear me everywhere she goes! :)

Today is Wednesday. Blog day for us because we can only afford to blog once a week because we dont have our own internet service and the parront has a busy agenda always. She has been working hard during the week and Baby and I has been in jail most of the time. We just eat, poop, preen an play all the time. What a bird life!The weather is in the 70 today I dont know the humidity level, but it does not feel humid.

I'm pretty happy today! I get extra cuddle time with mommy this week! Guess what my klutzy mommy did last night? She tripped and sprained her ankle. I swear, she's always hurting herself one way or another.... Anyway, she can't walk and has to stay in bed so that means extra cuddle time! :) Though I do kinda feel bad that she's hurt....

Hi Ginger,
Sorry we haven't been on much as mom hurt her right forearm at work and has filed for workers comp and is waiting for all the paperwork so she can see a specialist. She also has a frozen right shoulder too. So she be falling apart pretty badly. :(
Dad is better and recovering good from his surgery and might be going back to work soon. But he still has to have surgery on his right arm with a torn tendon.
So both the parronts be falling apart, I guess that's what people call old age huh? :(
Mom's typing hurts so she doesn't go online much.
But she has her good days and bad days. But her nights are the worst when she sleeps with two ice packs on her right forearm and a heat pack on her right shoulder. I guess maybe that's why she be a little cranky in the morning as she don't sleep well at night with the hot and cold thingy on her arms.
Please bear with us if we are not all there at times as mom is on some pain pills and it makes her very tired and sleepy.

I just took a bath and got water all over mommy's desk, she's not too happy with me.:P I'm really good at getting water EVERYWHERE when I take baths. Mommy posted another painting, it's of a yellow naped amazon. She tried a new technique, and is really happy with it!
