GAME TOMORROW (Reserves will be playing in some of the games)
Besides no flockmates playing on the same team, there are a few other regs this season.
Be active on BC within days. “We will not allow a Player to participate whose parront has not visited the BirdChannel in weeks or months.”
(We will be playing a Monday thru Friday schedule this Season, posting all game results at 3:00 pm ET each afternoon.) Parronts who work during the day can post prior to and after the game.
Post at least twice on the Stadium page on our game days, once before a game and once after.
Team Rosters will be checked for participation monthly. If Players do not participate as is eggspected by accepting a position on the Team, they will be replaced by a Reserve Player
You are encouraged to post on teammates pages to develop Team unity.

Coach Polly and I have you and Jessie on the reserves list - we're in the process of putting up a page for the team . . . we'll let you know when it's complete !
We were smack in the middle of that storm over the weekend ! About 18 inches of snow, which was actually not bad compared to some places, and we never lost power so that's good ! Now the temps are inching up into the 30's so hopefully things will start to slow down. The bob-cats were out filling dump trucks up with snow today and I supervised from my window . . . loudly ! heeheehee

QUAKERS RULE
Today's book is very close to my little green heart for a couple reasons - TANGO IN AMERICA by Steve Baldwin with Alison Evans-Fragale is about my wil quaker frothers in the USA. Tango is a young quaker looking for her father. During her search she faces many challenges and learns about life, love and growing up. Probably best categorized as a young adult book. Well, mom was home early on Wed. because of snow and then on Thurs. she had a 2 hour delay - that meant extra Cookie time :) Of course even though it's a weekend - there'll be very little Cookie time :( Christening tomorrow, dad's father has a birthday on Sunday and I (gulp) have a vet appt. on Monday - but I'm ready for that sneaky vet this time ! I'm so glad to see you ! We had a really stormy week last week - right in the path of Sandy - but we were lucky - we only lost power for a day - Mom just went back to work yesterday - glorious :) I was in my cage only at bedtime - but now that the clocks have changed I'm losing mom time. Good to hear from you ! Sounds like things are going well there ? Here mom is one whole month into her new year of school. And she's got her beginning of the year cold - she gets one every year and that builds up her immunity to the kids and she stays pretty healthy the rest of the year. She hasn't had to take a sick day in almost 20 years ! Anyway the cold keeps her close to home - she sneezes, dad says "bless you" and then I yell "THANK YOU" ! !
She spent this weekend bringing in all her potted plants from the back deck before the first frost - it looks like a jungle in here ! Luckily she says most of them will go to school one each day . . .

Sorry about you getting in trouble - but you need to remember . . . never bite the hand or anything attached to the hand that feeds you ! Although I'm not one to talk - I was in trouble over the weekend. It was the parronts anniversary and mom made strawberry shortcake. So I enjoyed all those little seeds on the outside of the berry and used the rest to decorate the wall. Mom screamed with joy and said she should have named me Jason Pollak II ! I bet his mother never cleaned up his artwork !

Hello from tropical NY !
Oh, George ! Yesterday we had a monsoon ! The sky just turned really dark and opened up with wind, rain, thunder and lightning ! Then the sun came back out all hot and steamy and then it happened all over again last night ! Now we're into the near 100's and realllllllyyyyyy humid for the next 3 days ! ICK ! I know we needed rain - but all at once ?
The good thing about this weather is it does keep mom a little closer to home - even she doesn't want to go out in this . . .
Poor Jess - it probably is all stress related - between the dog and the surroundings . . . good luck to mom finding you guys a place - my wings are crossed (and mom's fingers too !)

So George . . .
our weather finally turned regular summer - so now we can open the windows except when mom is cooking and the fresh air smells and feels good :) Tomorrow we start back on a warming trend - more humid too ! I'm OK with it, but boy mom sure does get cranky !
At least she's home now that it's summer - she has a pile of projects on a list that I keep trying to get to - all I want to do is add COOKIE-TIME to it so she doesn't forget ! Everytime I try to grab it though she puts it away out of my reach ! grrrrrrrr

Holy cow george ! If your poor mom didn't have bad luck, she wouldn't have any ! We're so sorry about all the stress she's under ! How lucky she is to have you guys to keep her smiling !
What are you guys up to today ? Lots of towns near us celebrated last night and some are waiting for the weekend. Good thing too since we woke up to rain and it's supposed to continue on and off throughout the day. I'm just looking forward to some corn-on-the-cob and some watermelon later !
It's been very warm here too - in fact too warm for mom to feel like going out and doing much. Which is good for me :)

Hey buddy !
You'll never guess what happened here yesterday ! I'm in my cage playing happily with my calculator paper when all of a sudden BANG ! A ladder slams up against the house right by MY window ! Then stomp, stomp,, stomp . . . and a strange man is looking in my window ! Well, I didn't like this at all and I let everybody know it ! Dad finally closed the curtain and mom took me out and promised that as soon as the gutters were clean he would go away ! Whew . . .
We had a really mild winter and so more good news ! Next weekend mom has off Friday as well as Monday for Memorial Day ! Lots of Cookie time !

Hey guess what ?
After almost two weeks of on and off rain and drizzle, the sun finally returned last night to prove it really does exist ! The best part of this is that dad is staying home today to try to start hacking away at the yard ! Mom says it looks like we are squatters living in an abandoned building it's so overgrown ! I intend to sit in my supervisory position by the open window !
We had such a mild winter here in the northeast that the school district is giving the snow days back ! That means next week for Memorial Day weekend, mom has off Friday as well as Monday ! YIPPEE !

My Mother's Day plan changed ! When you go to my page you can see the lovely creation I made for mom ! Only I didn't get the idea she totally appreciated all the hard work it took . . . she did squeal with joy though . . . C O O O O O K I E E E E . . . just like that !
We've had rain on and off for going on two weeks now ! Everything is really pretty and green but it's not warm enough for me to sit by the open window and visit with the outdoor friends - hopefully this will soon change !

A new computer !
With buttons that you're not allowed near ? What's that all about ? Jeesh, I wasn't banned from mom's computer till the Esc button went missing ! heeheehee
I'm nearing the end of NEGLECT THE COOKIE WEEK - mom coaches the junior high school drama (yup, it's redundant !) club and their production is this weekend. There have been extra rehearsals every day this week. Dress rehearsal was a really late night ! At dinner time I just sat and yelled at mom's empty place until dad finally had to hand feed me !
What are you doing for Mother's Day ? I'm thinking of making lace out of one of mom's shirts ! I know she'd like that !

Everything sounds like things are really working out there ! Sounds like mom likes this job and it's providing you guys with toys and treats - AND best of all, a new computer ! ! ! It will be great to visit more often like we used to !
It's finally starting to turn spring - thank goodness - mom had flats of little baby flowers all over the house and then it got too cold to plant them outside. Well, they weren't little any more ! They were big and scary by the time they went out on Friday !

That is great you got a new computer! If we dont answer right away we will in a few weeks cause we are going on vacation and wont be on the computer for a while. Dad lays down on the couch and pretty soon he is sleeping in the evening. Then when they go to bed he wonders why mom is so tired and sleeps later in the morning! Oats here. Yeah mom won't let us play with her phone either. You should see Sophie trying to get the business phone mom has. Boy does mom have her hands full! Mom got a job setting up appointments for a swimming pool svc. She gets to be home but boy is she on the phone all the time!! We all TRY to be quiet but we want the attention, not that black thingy.
Ever since mom figured out I'm a girl I've been so much better. I'm not screaming as much and most of the time I'm not plucking as much either. I beg to be picked up and don't even mind going for rides now. I didn't even bite her OR THE VET! when she took me. I check out just fine but a little dry skin. Not bad for a bird that's never been to a vet in her life. I sure didn't like getting my blood drawn but it worked out okay. Sophie is a bit dehydrated though so mom is trying to figure out ways to get her to drink more. We all get juice now. No fake corn syrupy stuff either. the blue berries are starting to plump up and turning a little already and the strawberry fields are open to go pick. Gotta go, my mouth is watering to much. heheehe. Oh George !
we started with really warm summerlike weather last weekend - I even got outside on the back deck with mom while she played in the dirt . . . then dad went out and fired up the grill for our first cookout ! YUM !
Then it got cold again and the windows got closed up so I couldn't yell at kids coming off the school bus like I like to . . . now rain is coming for the WHOLE weekend ! UGH !

mom was watching WeatherChannel and worrying about you and those storms yesterday ! Hope everything is OK !
We had a perfect weekend ! Yesterday was 72 and sunny - mom put me in my travel cage and brought me outside for a sunbath while she played in the dirt ! Container gardens for the patio - but when we came in . . . dad went out and fired up the grill for our first cookout of the season ! ! It smelled soooooo good :)

Kiwi here. Long time no squawk. yeah, partly my fault I know. What with Punkin going for BOTM in Nov...then all her messages in Dec...THEN her being in the kissing booth We all got put on the back burner. Then I got in the kissing booth followed by Sidney. Now it's all spring here and mom is not on the computer all the time. Starting April 2, Ipo is gonna be in the kissing booth. Mom says she'll try to make sure all of us still get our messages out.
We have so enjoyed this "winter" mom hasn't had any snow to shovel and just a bit of rain. Yeah, we can get to like this kinda winter. Mom did say it's drought conditions tho but that doesn't stop us from liking it. hahaha
Sure glad you all are safe. Not sure how many of the BC family has been lost with these extreme storm. So scary. Gotta go now though. You got out ? It has warmed up to the 60's here so windows are open, but I haven't been out yet. In fact dad still hasn't moved my cage from my winter spot away from the drafty window ! Maybe this weekend. I am anxious to yell at the wild birds and squirrels in MY yard !

It was nice here today too and is suppose to be all week and next week too so we will see. We havent gone outside yet and mom has to put our outside cages together again for us.I don’t know what really happened but heard the clock alarm ringing early this morning and then a few minutes later it happened again and a few more minutes it happened again. Gus said dad was suppose to set the clock but messed up and set the alarm instead. Today mom was complaining about feeling sore but that is because she walked 4 miles yesterday on the trail. Been the first time in a couple of months the day was nice enough to walk again outside. She wants to be in the walk/hike next month so she is gearing up for it. “People sometimes ask, “how can you be friends with someone you never met?” and we tell them, “you have never been on bird channel I bet.” That about sums it up too. The grackles and starlings are back, but no robins yet . . . there is one lonely droopy daffodil out front. The rest retreated underground when the cold returned, but this coming week is supposed to start warming up again :)
Well, mom and dad met with the accountant and it looks like I'll be getting a new cage this spring. In fact, in the newest BirdTalk is an article about new cages and it was written by my vet !

Sorry to scare you like that ! Sweetheart is a cockatoo from a friend's (Charlie - another quaker) flock.
We again were thinking about you with all those storms last week and hoping we'd hear from you soon ! Were they near you ? We've had a crazy non-existant winter ! Mom's school is actually giving them back their snow days since they were never used ! One of them is the Friday before Memorial Day ! YIPPEE !
After school today, mom and dad meet with the accountant ! In just a few hours I will know what my toy budget is ! How is mom's job search going ? Did she find something new and better yet ? Wings crossed for her . . .
