LaLo and I have been pals for years, and when Flash needed a home, and due to my failing health, I thought LaLo would be better off living at the McFlock home, but l missed her from the start and Flash was determined not to be my friend! When it was obvious that he and Denise were very compatible, we talked it over and decided to make the swap! Flash is Happy, and I got my cuddle bug back, everybody is a winner! The major downside is, for the first time in 17 years, I will not be able to experience the true love of a Cockatoo, and yes, I will miss Flash but the swap was for him, not me...

Active within 1 Day Hi! My name is Ms LaLo~Loving being the Silver Slugger short stop I am a Congo African Grey from Rock Island, IL. Kissy face, daddy's girl, and daddy's chin candy... 10 years old F Congo African Grey Broccoli, corn on the cob,aunt Betty's birdie bread, sweet potatoes plain, unsalted peanuts, pasta, and scrambled eggs... On the perch on the on the door of Jenny's old cage and on then cage ad play gym Flash left behind! She has a multitude of choices where to play, but she like to always be able to see me, she is never in a cage She stays separated from Jen, but they get along better now...for which I am thankful... He loves me to pieces, and I have a huge free roaming play area, and lots of cardboard to chew on, and I do that all day long! My daddy provides for me a wonderful life, and for that, I love him dearly... She is by far the sweetest and lovingest bird that has ever come into our home, I missed her a lot during the 6 months she stayed at aunt Denise's home, and if you pick her up, she has to kiss you, I love it... Much like my Angel Christy, she doesn't talk, but if you knew her, you would know she don't have to, to convey her love and happiness.... I love, & love to be loved, and I give and get plenty of both, live life to the fullest, time is our most precious commodity, don't waste any of it....

What? No aviary time yet?
Where's the complaint box? You need to file one! Okay, so it's understandable about your dad dragging his feet. I hear he was working like crazy and ended up with some sore muscles. Those can make you feel like you really don't want to do anything else. I know, Coach Sam has put mine to the test. I've been trying to do some flying here and if don't kill me, it'll definitely make me stronger. The other day after mom had carried me out to the aviary, she obviously wasn't thinking about what she was doing and reached in with the little transport stick and got me out of the carrier but then she flicked me off as if I was Alfie or something. That was no graceful flight, I can tell you, but it did prove to me that I can make this wing get a little lift. I'm not going to make a practice of it though. I'd rather be chauffeured to my desired place of perching. I like having a human slave.

Enjoy the morning sunlight 'cause I think we're headed into some dark and cloudy days.

You Did Exceptionally Well With Scoopin' Up Those
.....ground balls! I read up on all the baseball statistics and it seems that grounders are notorious of making baseball players make more mistakes than any another errors! In the defense anyway. With having a number of rookies this year, and just being a new team all around in most anything, well, we have a lot of "proven" to do. I run things in my mind too. Where are we still weak at? How can I improve my team's abilities & help form more talents with those who need it? Practice. I was thinking today was opening day! I was mistaken about that & have only heard in passing that it will be the sixth. Mom will be getting very busy soon herself so I have to have us readied. Tell me you're outside right now enjoying this pre-summer day. After a whole winter of being inside, this is the kind of day we've been wishing for! I've been out in the pen for a couple of hours already. Lunch has been served and now I'm just lounging on the far corner perch. George has done a little yard work so I had him to watch there for awhile but right now things are pretty quiet, well, except for the wind. This crazy stuff just can't seem to give it up.

Hope you're soaking up some sunshine on those pretty gray feathers.

He is also supposed to go to another medical center in Sugar Land and get a second opinion even through he is going forth with the orders of his current oncologist. We are just not friends, remember, we are family! Y'all welcome here anytime. Mom will have to give a shout out to your dad real soon because she loves talking to him. Was a tough few days for the parronts down in TX. Besides dealing with Uncle Dave and his health concerns, there is a lotta emotional stress going on. A very large family with so many friends and neighbors mom had to really jockey herself for time with the family. She is really glad to be home. She printed a bunch of our pics in our baseball uniforms and tortured the family with vicarious living though us fids;> The family was impressed that so many on BC were praying for Uncle Dave. Sorry I missed out on that hot tubin' opportunity. I do like a good soak in a tub of water. Mom finds it weird that I don't care for the water to be even slightly warm. I want it room temperature cold, thank you very much.

Looks like it's raining at your place just like it is at mine. This is the sort of a day a bird thinks about napping a lot. Think I'll shred a little more of the cardboard box in here, beat the maraca on the bars a couple more times and then zone out for awhile.

Hi LaLo! How's Your Saturday Treating You? Our's
...is less wet but it's nice & sunny but cooler. That's okay. It's too early for those 80 temps just yet. That's what Mom tells me anyways. She lived in Florida for a very long time and she says it's really nice to have Springs & Autumns to go through before the sweltering heat of summer or the frosty temps of winter. So, Springs pretty nice in the 60's & low 70's. Enough gardening/weather talk. That's NOT why I came here.

I'm just coming by to let you know, I've been trying to post the Practice Schedule for next week but the crazy BC won't let me put it in the "How we met" section. So, it is "PRACTICE", I thought it was fitting for it to be put under "quirky habits" section. If you go to the Team Page, you'll see it to the right. It's only every other day and I'm giving the weekends off since many birds & parronts do their cleaning and errands on those weekend days. Under each day you will find what we're suppose to practice for the day. All you have to do is go to the Team Page and practice like we're at Kevlar Field. ONLY for practice do we do that. You don't have to be there with all the other team mates at the same time. For some birds that is impossible, so just blog a little bit or two about practice and you're good to go.

... for coming by with your congrats on my surprise win of the BOTD award. I couldn't believe it when I saw my beak in the limelight this morning. And of all days, when Riza has a hatchday celebration going on which meant I would have to share that royal treatment. Turns out we both lost out because the parronts up and took off to the Quads to go grocery gettin'. There's enough nuts in the house now that I don't have to toss and turn with worry over what I'm going to get for a snack anymore.

Here you are talking about the beauty of spring and we have snow flurries floating around here again. At least they didn't congregate and become measurable white stuff. The daffodils here sure are pretty as are the hyacinths I can see out the front window. Right now is when the most colorful view out the bay window exists. Before long it'll be rows and rows of beans... as far as the eye can see.

41. To save money on printing, avoid the Arial font, as it uses more ink. Minimize the use of color ink by printing text in grayscale or use black-only mode.

42. And recycle spent cartridges for a refund or credit at an office-supply store.

You were really on the mark there in the batting cages today. Who would think such a delicate gal as yourself could slug a ball so hard and so fast! I'm impressed. I made a few more swings and misses than I would've liked to but in my defense your pretty beak was distracting me. Don't stop though. I like it.

You wouldn't have believed the view out the front window here this morning. It looked like I was living lakeside! Only parts of the road were visible, the rest was under water. Had I been a duck I would've been begging to go outside for a swim. I can quack like a duck but I have no desire to paddle around in roadside ditches.

Hope your day was an interesting one.

How about that, Lalo - our team's page won a trophy already and we haven't even had Opening Day yet. Things are looking up already!

How's my cute little neighbor girl been since I last saw you? Gone through another pallet of boxes yet? I've taken to hanging out on Alfie and Kelly's cages (read that "lording over them") and daring to venture inside their precious boxes and put my own decorative touch on them. I think those two liked it better when I just stayed put on my own piece of property. Why I've suddenly decided to venture forth and take up residence elsewhere in the room, I've no idea. Maybe it has to do with cabin fever and the definite need to see some different sights. K and A's cages are going to have to serve that purpose until real live spring weather finally shows up... and stays.

....have some bell ringing wins! I'm afraid some of my "baseball jargon" of practicing baseball with donuts wasn't referring to a snack but to the fact that I'm gonna have us practice batting with those round weights that they use on human ankles and wrists, snugged tightly onto the bat to weigh it down to build up our wing strengths. I'd rather us have Olly's healthy muffins from that bakery rather than donuts. I'd thought I'd let you know what I've written to those who've been congratulating & those who've been voting for us.

Good Morning Miss LaLo
It was good to see you at the Milonga Saturday night! The band was really on fire but mostly because those Scruffy Birds are all "fired" up because of Spring! Put all of them together and it was like a testosterone tsunami crashing onto the stage! Anyway, Chipper has nine in the nest waiting any day now to hatch. Bo Bluebird & Mrs. are on the nest with Mom providing a mealworm station nearby in the shade of a big pine tree. Lots of birds have been helping themselves with that! Mom does have a problem lately, with the bird bath. The herd of deer that seem to like their property has grown to 27 now. About a third of that is pregnant. What's happening is they're drinking the water from the bird bath and they knock the "bowl" off. Then NO one gets any water and it takes Mom & her mate to set it back up. This is getting to be an everyday thing. So, they put out buckets of water in hopes the deer would drink THAT instead of the bird bath. Nope. Must be too much "human" smell on that. So, the dilemma is to figure out a water means that doesn't involve heavy bird bath bowls. This falls on their legs, there's going to be an injured deer for sure. Well, that's what's happening here on the home front.

I came to visit you today because I was very upset with Jenny's behavior last night. BC should be a place for everyone, and nobody has the right to bully children, no matter what their religious beliefs are. BC is a place where we all get together to have a virtual birdie life, and religion, politics, and prejudices have no place here. We hope Jenny can tone it down some, we'd hate to lose her as a friend.
Last night was lots of fun, but again we didn't get to talk to everybirdie. If we missed you, we all apologize. Mom has 2 tours today in Dinosaurs, and needs to pick up more supplies for the baby squirrels, so we have to be brief today. She said don't expect pics of these 3, they came here with bushy tails and eyes open, so she hopes to have them back at the center by Wednesday at the latest, eating and not taking formula from a syringe. She won't photograph them because it may stress them too much, being that they can see and are active little ones, beginning to be wild babies. Hope you have a good day, it looks sunny but cool here. Rain came strong yesterday evening but it was a big help to wash away all the pollen that looked like some crazy person dumped yellowish-green talc all over EVERYTHING!! Just before the storm hit, I went outside for an hour! Sure are a lot of birds out there singing their spring time songs. I would try to imitate them back! Some of them I have down pat! You are absolutely gorgeous in your Derby Hat, I wanted to come by before you take off today to tell you how precious your friendship is to me. I'm wearing the family crown today, the one Dad sent to Romeo, it's graced the heads of several of our special friends that got the wonderful honor of being BOTD. It's one of those precious treasures that will stay with our family forever as a special memento from the Dallas family, it's an honor to wear it today..

I hear you're coming down to my place tomorrow! That's the best news I've heard all day. Even better than "there's a peanut in your box somewhere". I do love those legumes, but I love seeing you even more. Make sure your Dad drives extra careful and gets you here to me safely. I hope it's not raining cats and dogs while you're tooling down Hwy 67. That could get messy. I'm sorry, more than you'll ever know, that I've not been able to get here to write to you much lately. My absence, it's all for the sake of baseball. There are 70 some pictures on mom's computer of birds in baseball caps! It's shaping up to be a good looking year! Can't wait for the season to get started. I'll get to talk to you a whole lot more then, GUARANTEED.

Hey there! I've found a nice emblem to represent our team. I'm hoping things are going well with you?

I've been racking my noggin' to think of any other grey birds to ask for our team. I only need one more. The other 4 that I have asked, they've said no. One who's been here a little while is Opie from the Wallops Flock. I found out he's only a guest-bird who is insanely talented in talking so Aunt Theresa let him come on & introduce himself. He was basically only here off & on when he's birdie sat by Aunt Theresa. He's a very cool grey guy.

I thought I would also put up a "Wanted-Ad" on the Calendar page if Miss Sugar will allow it. I've been working hard on getting all this baseball stuff together & only of a few more paper works to do. Then I can concentrate on our Team Page and Aunt Denise is helping with our team pictures. She sure has a lot on her this year & I think I heaped a huge amount that way myself & feel terrible about it.

Mom's gonna call the Apple Tech today & hope they can help her with finding out why she's unable to screen share. I bet they find that nasty gremlin in there!

Good Morning

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Jetta. I am a CAG. I first came to live here in Lakeland with the Z Flock, last September. At that time I could say about 40 to 50 words, and I knew them pretty good. Mom felt that I could say more, so she spent a lot of time with me, and I learned new words very quickly. I now know somewhere between 350 to 400, and say complete sentences.

Currently I am in Flight Training. Pops, as we refer to him, is teaching me to fly on command, and I think I am getting the hang of it. We've only been doing this a short time, but I learn quickly. It's so cool to be able to get to him when I want to.

When we train, he uses special treats that I just love, to get my attention.

My "Secrets" article's will start tomorrow, and I just know you won't want to miss any of the fun facts that I will bring to you. Hey, they sure helped us, So I know you might find a few you like.
