 My mommy's friend, Linda down in Texas, volunteered at the rescue where I was at. They were trying to figure out what to do with me and if they had to put me down or not when Linda mentioned it to my mommy here in Minnesota. A couple days later I was on an airplane on my way!! I have quite a few problems that my mommy and Dr Melissa are helping me with. I have severe scoliosis which makes me all hunched over with a big bump in my back, kinda like a hunchback! I also have a sumluxating upper mandible. That means that my upper beak doesn't like to stay in it's joint. It slips in and out all the time. When I first got to Minnesota, I couldn't even close my mouth at all!! Now I'm actually starting to break apart some of the pieces of my wood toys! I still can't eat enough food on my own to sustain a macaw such as myself, so my mommy still hand feeds me with a syringe. It's okay though because that is an easy way to get my medicine into me! I'm just the happiest girl you could ever meet and I love life!. |
