Punkin here. I am going for BOTM and would love it if you would vote for me. I'm telling everybird of our moving experience from Nevada to North Carolina. ALL the stories can be found on my frother Shaggy's page. Here's todays story...oh and they are all true....Whee! We're gonna be on the move....
Part 10.....Mom got all the packing done and has spent nights cleaning. Unfortunately we've all been put in small cages for the trip. It's awful being packed in the car...it's pretty hot right now and we are NOT liking it...Oh here comes big finch...Only....his female got out when mom was giving them food. OH NO!! THE BABY! So far he's caring for the little one but mom says it may not make it. Not a good thing at all to think of. Poor boy he's calling to his mate..mom left the van open because the hen is flying in the tree calling....All us finches call her but she flies away. NO COME BACK!
Mom and dad can't put it off any longer, we have to leave. Good bye pretty girl...we tried! It's so awful listening to both of them trying to call the girl. mom checks and daddy is taking care of baby....so far so good. So here we are NC OR BUST!! We're all real quiet for a long long time until we realize we're stuck in these things ALL DAY! Mom made sure we have shades so cars and trucks passing won't worry us as much and we're on the shady side of the car. Hey it's kinda fun. Look at all the wild cousins out there! Quit shoving! MOM!!! WOW! Kiwi and Sophie and Sidney say we're going past the town Lisa lives. BYE LISA! The day keeps going and going. We sure are tired. I'm glad none of us gets car sick. Lucky bigger birds...they get to get out of their cages. We're jealous. Dad and mom are talking about where to sleep...yeah, sleep. Next thing we know mom has put covers on us but it doesn't feel like we're stopping for long. Oh well, we're mostly doing good...big finch is still calling for his mate. That makes us all feel so sad..mom too. going to Sleeeeep now.....

I'm so sorry you didn't get BOTD today. All the birds that were BOTD last year are now eligible again so when a really popular bird like Alfie has a hatchday they usually get more vote. I could have been just one or two but the rule is whoever gets the most for the day wins.
