 Matilda chose us, we did'nt choose him! We went into the store to look at a Timnah Grey. We got to the store before it was open and saw Matilda and another Caique playing in shredded newspaper in the store's window. When the store opened we were excited to see the Grey, but then we saw an Eclectus male, and a female. After some more birds we looked at the two caiques and we were not sure yet, so we looked at some cockatoos and other birds. While we were looking at the male eclctus again, Matilda, being only a three mounth old ciaque, flies with all her might and lands on my moms shoulder. We do some more looking and as I was walking by Matilda she flew onto my shoulder and then onto a cage that the store was selling. We decided to take her home and he even got the cage she had picked out. Later we found out Matilda was a he when we were bying Midget, because if Midget was getting sexed we might as well just have Matilda sexed too! The results came and Matilda was a boy and Midget was a girl! Now they are best buds and love to play with their family!. |

Hey, Matilda, how's it going?
I looooove water, just scared to go under even a trickle from daddy's hand. Still I whistle like crazy in the bathroom no matter who's taking a shower and I wake up to a grape every day. I"m coo coo for them.
Guess what? I got used to playing with this thing and then having it put on me. They call it a harness and I get to go out whenever I put it on. First the balcony, then just around the neighborhood. I loooved it. Mom and dad were very careful, bringing my travel cage and food and water. I met lots of kids and whistled all the way home. Yahoo!

Well, it always throws me for a loop when a birdie has been named a girls name & they're really a boy. So 'waltzing Matilda' is a no go, right? Well, Matilda & your little frother I have gone to the birdson who handles these things and have nominated you two for BOTD candidates. I hope you won't mind. So my mom used to live in Vernon, CT (she works for Harford Ins and she lived there one summer to train and stuff). Where is New Preston from Hartford?
Is it very cold there right now? It's been mild and raining here and we're sure looking forward to some nice temps in the mid-70's this weekend Hooray! Maybe mom will take us outside for some vitamin D! I'll send some sunshine your way!

(SO CUTE) Vote Spirit Cloude BOTM March
Chirp Chirp! ~ Hi there, my name is Spirit Cloude (144812), and I am a 5 year old (male) budgie from W. Gardiner Maine. I’m running for March BOTM in honor of my Uncle Maximillian, on page #9042, who tragically passed away last year (2010) on March 14th, at 18 years old. I miss him, and so I’ve decided to dedicate my run to him.

And now a little bit about myself … I am a crazy little blue & white budgie, that my Mama bought from Petco on June 26th, 2005. Mama wanted to give me a hatchdate, since for 5 years we’ve just said it was my “Gotcha Date” because we new that I was a year older by then. So, after about a week of thinking, we decided to have my hatchdate March 16th! My favorite singers are Taylor Swift and Hillary Duff, but my favorite song is “Kiss Me Thru The Phone”, by Soulja Boy Tell ‘em. I also like “Fearless” by Taylor Swift. When a song comes on that I really like, I start to dance and chirp. I’ll walk up and down my perch, rub my bill on it and chirp, chirp, chirp. One time, I learned a tune. It was on the Nintendo 64 and it was a Super Mario game! I learned the tune to one of the courses. Mama also taught me how to make kissie noises once. I couldn’t make them quite the way she can, but I did pretty well!

are the best! Look at you two as babies!!! Oh my goodness! Humans say getchi, getchi, gooooo. So what would caiques or parrots in general do/say? Peep depeep, depeeeeep, SQUAWK!?!? Thanks for stopping by. Most of our flock wears the flight-suits or bird diapers. Whatever you like to call them. Momma highly recommends them and let me tell you, we have lots and lots of them. They are not hard to put on at all. You just have to practice getting our little feet and wings arranged right. It is best if you start putting them on your birdie when they are young. If not it's still ok. Rio didn't start wearing his until he was older. He just had to get used to it. Some birdies like Jade absolutely hates them and she usually chews on them till she breaks out of it. I don't mind wearing mine cause that means I get to go more places, like to work with mommy and visit all the old people.
