Squak is teaching me the ropes, so we're out flying around visiting folks. there's just so much for me to learn, and believe it or not, she is a big help in my quest to get to know other birdies. So faar it has been such a great experience, and I'm having fun. I got to go first on the puter this morning, which didn't make her or Screech happy, but pops said the new kids could be first. Screech is telling mom she was third fiddle. I hope I don't get thrown in the basement of the Castle, especially since it's dark and cold down there.Come visit me, Tweet & Squak.

Hi Cocoa!
Hey everyone! Sorry I'm on later than expected. Mom has just been out of it the past couple days. We should be back in the swing of things soon enough.
Well, mom had a nice time in North Dakota but it was a lot of work and sad to see too. The animals aren't taken care of (a very few are) in that city and it was really poor and dirty. The city is in the middle of nowhere and you'd have to drive at least 30 - 60 minutes to get to the nearest stores, hospitals, etc. But overall it was nice because mom was the photographer for the kids' VBS (Vacation Bible School) and Basketball camp and also got to play with some of the littler kids & dogs at the park.
I haven't done a whole lot since mom's been gone. Just the normal things us birds do :) Thank you so much for voting for me while I was gone!! *hugs* MangoCome visit me, Mango ~ King of July 2011.

You're right it is crazy! Today mom went to the pool after training 2 people at the center. One was a new intern, and the other was one she started a few weeks ago, who was at her last training day today. It was hectic because they were in the avian nursery and all the incubators and cages were full! Hey Cocoa! Yes, we might just have to break down and buy a new Laptop. But then again, the Grandmom who lives with us has been 'hinting' that she would love a new video recorder. She has one of the old ones that you have to insert into a VCR cartridge to playback. So of course it's not computer ready. She said if she had one we could video me and the furry four-leggers. It's actually too cool to go to the pool today! Mom worked outdoors at the center this morning and was glad she was wearing a tee shirt, not her tank top! We're having freezing temps here now. Mom and the dogs are loving it, but it's just too cold for me.
Well, tomorrow is my last day blogging on BC until mom gets back. She will be in Northern North Dakota helping out at a VBS. She leaves at 5am Saturday morning and it's a 13 hour drive plus stops. No pets allowed, unfortunately, since a whole group is going. My Gpa (mom's dad) will be taking care of me while mom's gone..she's already got a page of instructions on how to take care of me, the dogs & the fish!
Today we have the fastest wing beat.

Hope you're having a nice day! Here we had our last warm day that hit 90. Tomorrow we're back to the 60's.
Mom still had me rest today, so I didn't do a whole lot, but tomorrow mom wants to give me and the dogs lots of attention, since 5am June 11th she's leaving.

It just feels so good to be back. Mom is going nuts this week, though. We had a baseball game on Mon, Tues, today, and Friday!!! Thanks! All our flowers are coming in nicely, and mom loves to work out there when everything is in bloom. She did all the foxes and outdoor raccoons this morning, and it was a good thing, because she left her real glasses at home, and was wearing her sunglasses when she went to the center! It ate the hard drive, and mom had to get a new computer. We got an error message on the antivirus stuff a couple of days before this thing hit, so maybe it was hiding in the computer before the crash. Hi! Leaving a 'Thank YOU" vote from Navi. I reached my 1000v goal, Sugar gave it to me :) Thanks to her, and to everyone who helped me get there. This adventure really showed me how much I am loved, and how much I am thought of. I really am speechless right now, in less than a year I reached my 1000votes. Thank you,,,,♥.... ~.~.~ Today mom is going to spend some quality time to play with me, and think of another trick. Any ideas? Anyways, Today in Oregon...rainy....yesterday in Oregon...sunny...weird ah? How is your weather? Did you hear about that tornado in Joplin, Missouri? One of mom's pastors parents lives there, but...they are safe and fine. I'm glad, I pray for those in Joplin, Missouri. Thank you so much for your wonderful support, also for Derby on HC...I am sure she loves your visits, and will be thankful for such support and for others thinking of her :) No update on Casey (Derby's mom) yet, but I hope for one soon. Well, we had sun later in the afternoon, so mom got the fountain outside to work, and planted petunias and snapdragons in the yard. Now all the planters are done, and the yard is started! YAY! Punkin here. Oh I am getting so excited. I'm not sure how many votes I got so far but I'm not resting until I know I made the castle. I think mom is wearing down nearly as much as I am. hehehe
I promised Molly that I would remind everybird again about the flowers we eat.....
One very important thing that you need to remember is that not every flower is edible.
In fact, sampling some flowers can make you very, very sick.
You also should NEVER use pesticides or other chemicals on any part of any plant that produces blossoms you plan to eat.
Never harvest flowers growing by the roadside.
Identify the flower exactly and eat only edible flowers and edible parts of those flowers.
Always remember to use flowers sparingly in your recipes due to the digestive complications that can occur with a large consumption rate. Most herb flowers have a taste that's similar to the leaf, but spicier.
