I went to look at this bird on the other side of the island and had a innate feeling that this bird must come home with me. She clung on to my shoulder for her dear life. Little did I know that she was really mistreated, neglected and abused. On the way home she had to sit on my shoulder because the carrier I had was too small for her. Anyways, when I got her home and got to really look at her I started to cry and felt really really sad for her and then got mad at those people and how they could let this birdie go so long without treatment or medical attention. She had no feathers on her belly or on her back or legs. She looked haggared and just really needed someone who would love her and spoil her the way any bird would need to be treated. She needed a lot of love and TLC to the max. So I got her on 2/23/2011 and that will be her new Bird Life Day, so to speak. The day she was saved from that bad bad place. She went to the vet on 2/25/2011 and needed some antibiotics to help her boo boos and a follow up on 3/12. Her down feathers are starting to slowly grow in on her belly and even on her legs. She is a happier bird for being with me and out of that place. God place this little soul in the care of my hands and I will be forever grateful, and I know she is too. I can't imagine what would have happened if I didn't take her with me. Lord have mercy on those souls that mistreat God's beautiful feathery creatures..

PEANUTS, papaya, Pookie's mix seed mix from his girly BFF friend Luca, and grapes. Waiting on the mango... Nope, I don't care for mango :(

My new mommy and my new play perch area that my daddy built for me on 2/25/2011. :)

I don't like fingers, but my new mommy is working with me on that issue. I'm learning to step up and not bite mom's fingers, well not so much.

**** GOOD NEWS ****
Today the vet called. 4/11/2011 and they said my DNA results came back and that mom doesn't have to change my name cause i'm a GIRL!! Yippeeee!!! I knew I was a girl, mom just wasn't sure but now everybirdie knows! :) Oooh I feel good now. :)

This Saturday in the afternoon I will see the vet and hopefully he will tell my mom no more shots! Please pray for me that I don't have to take anymore, it hurts. :(

I'll have mom post something as soon as she can. :)

*Good News/ Bad News*
The Good news is that my doctor says that i'm looking very good. He didn't
expect the medicine to work that good. Little does he know I have a lot of
friends on the BC praying for me. :)

Well, the bad news is that he wants me to take the shots for 4 more days.
:( But mom says, if it will make me feel better and get rid of that nasty
bacteria then its all worth it. :) So, my last day of taking shots will be
on Wednesday night.

Also, he wants mom to keep a close eye on me the first 5 days after I finish
my medicine. To see if there is more improvement or not.

I was sooo wishing to be the miracle birdie that could breathe with both
nares, but now i'm not sure. The doctor also said I don't need anymore
drops in my boo boo cause it looks really really good. He did a little
cleaning of it at the office, it was okay it didn't hurt.

So, I have 4 more days of painful shots. Please pray that they don't hurt
as much. I really appreciate everybirdies prayer and their parronts too. Thank
you soooo much everyone. :)

May 22, 2011 UPDATE

I only hafta take two drops in the boo boo twice a day till the end of this month and then i'm having my coming out party on June 4th. So please join me and all my birdie friends to celebrate my coming out party.

I would like to thank all the birdies for all the well wishes and continued prayers for my recovery and healing.

I like to scratch my boo boo on my nose. I'm starnta whistle a little. :) I am copying mommys laugh now heeheehee heee hehe :)

I'm in Quarantine for I don't know how long since I have this sinus infection. :( So, I can't really play with Pookie my lil frother just yet. :( I hear him tho! He's a loud lil bugger.
I get parolled on ? Pending.
I want to thank all the birdies and their parronts for all the wonderful well wishes and prayers during my surgery and continued prayers are always welcomed. As I am per the vet in "Guarded" condition, what ever that means. At least its not critical. A great big Mahalo to you all! Thank you and I love you all! Big birdie HUGS and soft beaky kisses too. :)

Monday May 2, 2011 I'm going to see the vet and hopefully get the all clear from this nasty bacteria. I would like to start planning for my coming out party since it was post poned as I was really really sick. :(
Please cross your toesies that the vet gives me the all clear. :)

I will every birdie posted after the visit with the vet.

** ATTENTION EVERY BIRDIE **
ITS TIME TO PARTY!!!

The vet said I look good and did a little cleaning in the boo boo. I was screaming for my mommy but the vet said it won't hurt.

I only hafta take 2 drops twice a day for 2 to 4 weeks then I'm done! Yes!!!

Thank you every birdie for the well wishes and many prayers. I believe they all came true! :)

I was feeling so good that on the way home I was whistling and saying whoo hoo!! whoo hoo!!!

I'm so happy I dunno what to do! ;)
Okay I'm open to any and all suggestions except I want the party in Hawaii. So every birdie will be on vacation at my Place. ;)

Please let me know how I should go about this, I very much welcome your birdie input.

Hi Angel Sally!
I am pleased to report that I haven't bitten momma in over a week! We have been trying to work on my stepping up, but I'm still not great. I REFUSE to step off or out of my cage. I will only step up when I am away from my cage. Grandpa bought the Bird Tricks training DVDs, so mommy is using those to help. I really like going outside, I will step up really nicely out there.
I really like being scritched. If mom or grandma stop, I shake my chain to ask them to come back. But I am not allowing mommy to scritch me at the moment, because her nails are a very scary red and yellow color. She promised to take the color off for me today.

HI ANGEL SALLY. SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN BY IN SO LONG. MOM AND I WERE VERY BUSY GETTING MY TEAM, THE TIEL TERRORS TOGETHER. BEING A COACH OF A BASEBALL TEAM IS NOT EASY WORK. OPENING DAY IS MAY 13TH BUT WE DO NOT HAVE THE PLAYING SCHEDULE YET. ITS GOING TO BE A GREAT SEASON FOR BASEBALL.

WHY IS IT THAT YOUR MOM HAS TO WAIT 4 - 6 WEEKS FOR WORK COMP TO DECIDE ON WHAT TO DO FOR YOUR MOM. THE LONGER YOU WAIT THE WORSE THINGS GET. MOM HATES WORKERS COMP CAUSE THEY ARE SO SLOW AND THEY BASICLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. MOM HAD TO DEAL WITH THEM BACK IN 2005 WHEN SHE INJURED HER SHOULDER AND THEN HER BACK WHILE WAITING FOR THEM TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO FOR MOM'S SHOULDER.

WORKMANS COMP IS MADE UP OR REGULAR PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT INJURIES OR ANY OTHER MEDICAL STUFF.

PRAYING YOUR MOM GETS THE HELP SHE NEEDS WHEATHER IT BE SURGERY OR MORE THERAPY.

We are so happy you like the chimes! We bought some too and just hung them up!
That is just terrible about your mom having to wait another 4-6 weeks! Do they know whats wrong? Your poor mom. Wish we could help.
Your mom is having computer problems too? We had major computer problems last week. Mom was on the phone with tech support 4 1/2 hours one day an an hour the next day. So far it seems to be fixed. Hope your mom gets hers fixed soon. Oh tell momma Ruthie not to worry at all about blogging. We can imagine how hard it must be to type. We just want you to know that we love you and are thinking and praying for you!

....is for my SNACKS!! Sure, I'll place a little bet on some friends to show support....but if I could, I'd bet on ALL the horses because it's just too hard for me to choose one horse. So, I may leave with empty pockets but I will have a full belly! And I share with all those Scruffy Birds, too! And they eat more than we parrots do! Queen Chyna said that the food is very good at the track but it is pricey. She should go to the movies sometimes! Twenty bucks for 2 sodas & a large popcorn. The movie is cheaper than the snacks!! The hats you are seeing are from my campaign. I was running for BOTM & 10K club in April (I had an early win). My daily blogs were derby. Tomorrow is my last derby blog.

Famous Fillies of our time:
Rachel Alexandra won the Kentucky Oaks by 10 and 1/4 lengths in 2009. She came back two weeks later to win the Preakness Stakes beating the best boys of her generation. Three months later, she went on to beat the older males in the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga Race Course NY, a feat no filly had ever achieved in the 56 runnings of that race. She raced only 5 more times, earning two more wins and three second place finishes. Then she retired as a broodmare in 2010. She will be remembered as one of the best fillies of all time.
Zenyatta will be remembered as one of the best horses of all times. Her wins included the 2008 Ladies Breeder’s Cup Classic and the 2009 Breeder’s Cup Classic (beating all the boys, a feat unheard of) with winning jockey Mike Smith. The latter race will forever be remembered by all who witnessed it. She always dropped far back in the early stages of a race and then made a late charge, passing all of her rivals through the stretch. With enormous strides and being a powerful great athlete, she turned the impossible into reality. She filled the crowds with awe and reverence. Her only defeat came on her 20th race. The 2010 Breeder’s Cup Classic (again with the boys), she waited just a minute too long to make her move and lost by a nose. She has retired and now is a mom. Zenyatta will always be remembered as a crowd pleaser. She always did a dance and kept an eye on her fans before the races. She loved her fans.
