Tessa, the thief.
I weave for a hobby and when I have a project going, my loom folds up so I can put the loom away while I'm not actively working on it. But last night I had it out when Tessa came out for her usual rounds. I must not have been paying attention because this morning I saw something weird at the bottom of the cage. At first I was alarmed, because my first impression was a bright red splotch in her poop, and I thought maybe she was bleeding from somewhere. But on closer inspection I saw it was a fluffy red piece of wool from the loom. Thief!

Gee, we haven't flown by in quite awhile, sorry about that. How are you? Cooled off yet? We cooled off back to a more normal CA summer, but we're sure to have a few more hot days before fall starts.
Our Mom made us some Birdie Cookies (recipe from Hulk), but we haven't decided we like 'em yet or not. Dad thinks we'd like it with some cayenne add to it. We do like hot, but the parronts don't like us wiping our beaks afterwards, heehee.

I heard on the news today that the whole country is having a heat wave. Today was about 90 and felt like 95 something like that. They say tomarrow and thursday they are expecting it to reach 100 with a heat index of possibly up to 110 over here. In Chicago i in the news that they closed 24 beaches only leaving open 1 because a huge fog was so bad the lifeguards said they cant see anyone in the water. I didnt even know Chicago has 24 beaches. Iwould of thought they only had 6 beaches. haha. But thats something else the whole country is under a bad heat wave. There are heat watches and heat advisories and heat warnings. Today we were under heat watch which means its gonna get worse. Tomarrow we are under heat warning which means its bad try to stay indoors. I am not sure what advisory means probably means be careful.Come visit me, FEATHER.

Hi i was looking at my list of birdy friends to see who i missed the last week or two. We had this big storm roll in last Monday knocking out power to over 850,000. Well i got excited and was doing video tapes and submitted 3 tapes of Feather during the storm and power outtage. I wish i had softward that could combine them so it would be more like a 4 minute video. All 3 are up if ya want to seem them. The first one is funny you can hear tornado sirens in the background but our power already went out in fact the storm was already dying down after 70 mile per hour winds. Well Feather was hissing up a storm in that one. I bet you are enjoying your cockatiels. Cockatiels are so cute.Come visit me, FEATHER.

Hi there you look like Poppy Feathers other friend. Well i have not talked to ya in a while. I was going over all my blogs. I got everybody listed on a paper. 4th of July came and went. Now it feels like the middle of the summer. I think summer goes by quicker than winter. We wait until it gets warm and before we know it its cold again. And it stays cold way too long. Anyways i had a regular 4th of July not doing anything. I thought i would see the fireworks but i never went. It became too late to go because parking if hard to find. Its funner when you go early with a group not just rushing over there with a few family members. Anyways what i did instead of video tape Feather with all the fireworks in the background. Our door was closed because the air was on and i could still hear all the fireworks. Its funny watching Feather stand there all still while theres all this noise from outside. haha. Sandy looks so pretty with her beautiful crown. Great photo! Everything is fine here. We had some new zebra finch fledglings which were doing fine on their own so I separated them out from their cage, banded them and gave them their own cage. Now there are 4 in each cage, so they have a lot more room. I think everyone seems happier with the situation. Other than that, not much going on except ZZ has AGY (avian gastric yeast) and has to get meds twice a day for a month. Guess who gets to give her the meds? I guess that is why I am Dad of all the birds!

I'm happy for you that you've finally gotten some rain and the that temps have cooled down a little. It's almost terrible to tell you this but I've been enjoying the most comfortable spring and early summer weather ever!! Today's the first day I've felt it hit 80° in a long time. Way back in April we had a couple of super hot days; in the 90s. The parronts were thinking that it was going to be one miserable summer but then it cooled back off and hasn't warmed up much since until today. Very unusual for this part of Illinois.
How exciting that you have two new family members! Now you and Henry have other 'Tiels to chatter to. I'm sure the new birds are counting their lucky stars, having been adopted into a wonderful family.
